He dipped down and pressed another kiss to your lips and you could taste the residual metallic taste in his mouth as he licked into your mouth. “Now, if you want to complete it, which you should always do unless you want to be a piece of crap Alpha, you gotta have your Omega bond you, too. So, how about it, babygirl? You wanna gimme a mark like a good girl? My good girl?” There was a gravelly rumble to his voice that sent sparks down your spine and you shyly nodded. It brought a small smile to his face and he bore his neck to you, showing off the unmarred skin just waiting for a claim on his scent gland. He emitted a musky, undoubtedly mature scent that appealed to and enticed you wholly. It drew you in like a drug that you had no intentions of resisting.

You laved over his skin with little kitten licks and that clearly pleased him if the slight change in his scent and the rumbly purr in his chest was anything to go by. Opening your mouth as wide as you could, you leaned in and bit down as hard as you could to sink your teeth into his flesh, managing to puncture his thick skin with your little Omega fangs after a moment. The bond snapped into place again, wholly this time, and a sense of peace washed over you. You could feel how pleased he was with the outcome through your new bond and happily lapped at your bite that decorated his skin.

“So.. you’re like… really bonded now?” One of the chattier young Alphas-to-be spoke up from where he was fully leaned over the desk beside you.

“Yea. And if you play your cards right, you might be able to bond an Omega, too. Though, that really relies on if you paid attention or not. If not, you’re not gettin’ another demonstration and you’ll be doomed to be an incompetent Alpha for the rest of your days.” Shikamaru spoke lowly, purposely scaring the boy as a tactic to make sure he followed the lessons, particularly the first part of the etiquette lesson. “And yes, I’m aware that I pretty much skipped the main courting part, but this is a special situation. One that you more than likely won’t get to be in, so you make sure you follow that lesson. At the very least don’t be a dick.” He rolled his eyes a bit, though you giggled a bit at the show, able to tell that that’s all it was.

“Good Alpha…” You murmured, still just a touch too hazy to form a proper sentence, as you nosed at his neck. He turned his head back to you and nosed at your temple with a kiss to your cheek.

“I’m gonna be tied to my Omega for a while, so we’ll just continue the spoken portion of the lesson for now.” Your Alpha carefully picked you up and maneuvered you into a comfortable position in his lap as he sat in his chair before his class once again. Exhausted and satisfied, you curled into his chest and just listened to the rumble of his voice as he continued with his lesson.

He kept his arms secured around you and would press the occasional kiss to the top of your head and nosed at your hair to ensure you were still comfortable and came down smoothly. He explained that to the class and brought the atmosphere mostly back down to normal while he spoke about the domestic aspects of caring for an Omega and taking care of a mate. He touched on having a Beta partner but mostly kept explaining how to be a proper Alpha to an Omega.

“So make sure you don’t screw it up. I’ve explained it pretty damn clearly.” That brought a small smile to your face as you let yourself drift off into sleep against the firm, warm chest of your Alpha. You would later hear about when a fellow instructor walked in and saw him not only knotted in you but now mated to you and gave him an exasperated tongue lashing but overall just rolled their eyes at him and carried on. Many of the other Omegas in your class were envious and practically demanded gossip but life remained relatively the same, save for having a wonderful Alpha caring for you and taking every opportunity to dote on you, especially in front of his students.

The Astrological Observation of Gen Z, (a series)

The rise & fall of "chick flicks" & the possible resurgence of those films thanks to Barbie? 💗 + Victoria's Secret Angels/fashion show makes a come back, will it succeed 👼🏽?

SPOILER ALERT

Here is the birth chart (placidus) of the most loved and adored doll of all time, Barbie! The Barbie movie begun filming in March 2022, had it's first premiere on July 9th, 2023, and was aired officially on July 21st, 2023. If the movie started to be filmed in March 2022, then that means the movie would have been created during Barbie's solar return. The movie was going to have a big impact on the world from the moment it was produced. Although, yes of course it's Barbie who's super famous, but I believe that the intention behind the film was more sincere than other movies in comparison. In Barbie's solar return chart, there is a fear of being "forgotten" or "lost", which is exactly what Barbie struggled with in the movie. There is an Aquarius dominance and a 11th and 9th house stellium. Her North node, Moon, and Uranus are in her 12th house which deals with the subconscious. In the film, Barbie and the woman who owned her as a little girl had a telepathic connection (Aquarius Venus at 2° in the 9th house), which she did not know until she started having "oppressive thoughts about death" (Aquarius Mercury in the 10th house at 28°). Which Weird Barbie gives her a "choice" of going back to normal or knowing the secrets of the universe (a spiritual awakening). Which then explains how her 11th house and 9th house partnered together in the film. Friendship, philosophy, and wisdom all being important lessons that Barbie was forced to experience. Barbie's journey throughout the movie was painful and scary. She wasn't able to be the one to give advice or help little girls anymore, this time - people had to help her, which gave her the confidence to become the woman she wanted to become (Barbie has so many squares and conjuctions in her solar return chart, like let me go buy a Barbie doll and tell her how much I love her, I'm so sorryyyy 💔😭).

Barbie's transits on the day of the Barbie movie's official release. Aspects that are standing out to me are Part of Fortune sextile Pluto, Uranus sextile Moon, Pluto sextile Jupiter, Mercury trine Venus, and Mars square Ascendant. The movie will go down as a cult classic. It globally is a big hit on social media and caused people to even dress, think, and feel differently (especially regarding their femininity). The mars square ascendant could be why men or people with internalized toxic masculinity feel uncomfortable with the movie. It triggers something in them and I feel like secretly that men who say they hate Barbie, actually love her??? They could be remembering childhood memories of the doll and possibly even wanted to play with one but weren't allowed to or wished they spent more time with their moms or sisters. The Mercury trine Venus represents how the film was able to convey women's thoughts well and the things they wish they could say but were suppressed due to the patriarchy. Women as a whole really love Barbie or think highly of her. The film's hypothetical birth chart has a 12th house stellium and still conveys the significance of intuition and the subconscious mind. What's beautiful is the film's Pluto is in the 5th house at 29° in retrograde. If they intended to have people reconnect with their inner child, then it was done successfully. Which confirms my belief and also hope for sweet, sappy, inspiring chick flicks about friendships and self love happening again.

This wouldn't be a post about the 2000's if we didn't discuss the Victoria Secret's fashion show. The first episode was released on August 1st, 1995 during prime time so around 8 pm PST / 10 pm EST. Here is the hypothetical chart (placidus) of the Victoria's Secret Fashion show. I have never in my life seen so many retrogrades before, YIKES! The show has a lot of karmic debt and with the amount of scandals the company had, I'm not even surprised. Saturn in the 1st house, so there is a strict beauty standard that the show wants to uphold and dislikes when someone else tries to break the mold. I watched the Victoria Secret documentary and this is what was said as well. The women who worked there tried to bring more inclusivity to the company and the men acted very pompous and stubborn whenever they tried to create positive changes. They wanted to get away with their cookie cutter looks and corrupted desires. North node being at 0° the fashion show was supposed to embrace change and throughout the years resisted it's main intention or purpose of making women feel sexy. Now that they are trying to rebrand, they'd really have to really get over their ego in order to succeed. The exact date and time of the upcoming fashion show is unsure but it will be aired sometime in the fall. With the Victoria Secret's Fashion Show Sun sign being in Leo, then that means the episode will air right after it's solar return (I'm noticing a pattern here of companies releasing projects after it's solar return👀). Things seem to be going in the show's favor and it will be fair or more inclusive as they said it would be. There is a 7th house stellium here and a Moon in the 1st house so it seems as though they want to come off as genuine as possible. Saturn still remains in the 1st house, so there is still some stern energy here, maybe the rules for the models is strict or there is some sort of tight schedule for the show? Jupiter in the 3rd house, people will be talking about it or there's going to be articles/podcasts about the show. Pluto square South Node, the company's past scandals will still linger in the air. Uranus trine Chiron, someone in PR could write formal apologies to the staff? Saturn square Jupiter, Saturn is not done with them yet. It's literally grabbing them by the throat and saying "repent for your sins". It's not great, but not terrible either, but I'm leaning towards the fashion show will do just fine. The women will be exceptionally beautiful and the style of the clothes is gonna be different. It could take some time for people to be on board again with the show airing due to past controversies. Some will enjoy it for nostalgia, while others will not care to watch because it's not their thing or won't watch out of support for the victims.

The Tour '23's birth chart (whole sign)

The show having its Aquarius Moon in the 12th house 24° is very significant in my opinion given the fact it displays the hidden nature of women and the different aspects of the divine feminine. I watched it today and there was a lot of focus on motherhood, feeling unique or out of place in the world (a lot of people saying they felt like an alien), and having different body types, attributes, or features being seen. With an Aries chiron and north node, I feel their way of approaching things was more blunt and why they were more comfortable exhibiting/talking about scars, stretch marks, protesting, and (tw:) eating disorders. Another interesting aspect I noticed was mostly the narrator Gigi Hadid and the show has a Virgo Mercury in the 7th house 16°. Quite a few of the women narrating were mothers themselves, such as Gigi Hadid. Gigi has her Mercury in the 1st house and she has a Taurus stellium. The 7th house is connected to Venus and it is known for beauty, femininity, and love. There was also 5 segments all around the world but the show made its debut in Lagos, Nigeria. The Pisces ascendant I believe explains the fluidity and ability to transform or adapt to your environment. As well as being sensitive, free spirited, and having spiritual consciousness, for example, there was the use of Yoruba and Igbo mythology in the fashion show. The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show originally had a Leo stellium and it was more superficial, a lot of hyper focus on glitz and glam. Where as now there is a Pisces stellium and still has a familiarity of signs from its original birth chart (the essence of Libra, Taurus, and Leo still being there). The Capricorn Pluto in the 11th house 27° acknowledges what they have done in the past and their problematic behavior. With 27° being a Gemini degree, its as if the company is wanting to say to the generation: "Let's talk about it". The fashion designers in the documentary all discussed the importance of self expression and their hardships to get there. Doja Cat being the main performer of the series isn't surprising given the fact she is also a Libra Sun. Similar to the show, Doja and Victoria's Secret, are both known for being quite controversial (perfect pair, don't you think?). With The Tour 23's Sun being in the 8th house, it feels that it is the death of their ego. A new chapter for the company, while still keeping some parts of itself and it's past. Neptune and Saturn being in the 1st house explains why everyone was so vulnerable about their journey, insecurities, and dealing with self criticism. With its ascendant being a leo degree (5°) I believe it will gain some traction or buzz because of the individualistic style and fresh new faces / designers, but it won't be anything that will people talk about long term.

Sims In Bloom: Generation 2 Pt. 44 (A Nephew and a Wedding!)

Making the most of a rainy autumn, Heather travelled to Henford to meet River and Cassandra's son, Michael, before he was even a week old.

She marvelled at her tiny nephew while he slept. "It's incredible, Riv! That's your kid!"

"He's pretty amazing, isn't he? I can't believe he's finally here."

Heather had arrived with first-time grandmother, Bella Goth, who always looked incredible. Even now that her jet black hair had faded to grey, she dressed like she could stop traffic everywhere she went.

"He has my brother's chin," she said, glancing wistfully upon her grandson as he woke from his nap. Baby Michael had been named for Bella's brother, who died in a motorcycle crash at the age of 32.

Bella was delighted to meet her grandson, but memories of her older brother still made her sad. He’d been gone for over twenty years, but he was her big brother - the only person she regretted leaving behind in Sunset Valley when she and Mortimer got married.

Cass cradled her new son. "I know how much you miss him. I wanted to honour his memory, and when he was born, we thought he looked like a Michael. Are you upset?"

Bella pushed forth a smile. "No, my goodness. My brother would have been thrilled to know his name lives on." Cass carefully studied her mother's face. "I know Michael's death triggered the depression that led to my disappearance, but I'm a stronger person now. I want to see my grandson grow up, and I have plenty to keep my mind busy. Diego keeps talking about taking a trip, and your brother's wedding is next month."

"Maybe Alexander and Lydia will give you more grandkids soon," Heather suggested sweetly as she cuddled Michael in her arms.

"You know she doesn't even want a wedding?" Bella smiled. "I told Lydia there was no chance my son would elope at Brindleton Town Hall, but she doesn't want seating, because she doesn't want an audience. She doesn't want a wedding dress, and doesn't want Alexander in a tux. The guests will be more dressed up than they are!"

"If it's what she wants, won't it still be beautiful?" Cass saw the world in such a romantic way.

"She wants an altar made of palm leaves! In our mansion! The aesthetic has me gasping! But she says the only part of the wedding she's actually looking forward to is her honeymoon in Sulani. All she cares about is marrying Alexander, not showing off for a bunch of guests she doesn't know."

"I think that's sweet," said Cassandra.

"A part of me was mortified! But a bigger part of me wishes I'd had the guts to stand up to Mortimer's parents when I was thrown into the deep end of the society scene as his photogenic new bride all those years ago. I really like her."

Heather and her siblings were all invited to the big day – a simple and phoned in ceremony (by the Watcher!) at the Goth family mansion in Brindleton Bay.

(I just wanted to make sure they didn't break up or something so I rushed it, quick and dirty. They're a side-side household at the moment even though I've tentatively plotted some of their future in my notes, but sometimes I just want to play and not do all this set up. And I'll shamelessly try to excuse it with storytelling every time.)

Surprisingly, no one complained about sitting on the floor for the ceremony. And even though it was raining, Heather chatted with Holly outside in their boho-style dresses.

"That colour looks great on you," Holly said, eyeing the purple dress Heather had chosen from the shop with almost no thought.

"Thanks, but I don't know where I might have a chance to wear something like this again." (The game picked it at random but I like how the colour nods to Gen 3)

"Maybe you should wear it with Conrad somewhere."

"We're not really a dressy couple," she said. "All my clothes get covered in whatever Ash gets his hands in then wipes on my shirt. If he wasn't at his dad's this weekend, I'm sure the dress would already have at least three stains."

Holly laughed, shaking her head. "You're so unflirty, sis. I don't know how you have the hottest man on the planet practically begging to move in with you."

"I'm taking him home to Henford soon. I really want him to meet everyone, but I'm so worried it won't go well."

"Why wouldn't it go well? Didn't you say he wanted to come with you today but couldn't get away from work?"

"I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop, that's all."

"What, like he's secretly working for the Landgraabs in some elaborate scheme to steal your code for your next mobile app?" She laughed at the thought, but Heather would be lying if she said the possibility had never crossed her mind, even once, in the months since she'd known him.

"I think it's more that if it doesn't go well, it would hurt too much."

"Then don't overthink it. You know no matter what, you'll always have us."

As hard as it was to take Holly's advice, Heather spent the next few weeks focused on her clinic to keep her mind off her relationship fears. ->

Being a therian, for me, doesn't impact my day-to-day life much. I don't have trouble connecting with humans. I do, however, kind of hate seeing my face in reflections. Not fun.

I always used to hate the cold, and while I do still prefer warm weather, I've found brisk fall weather kind of comforting since awakening (Norwegian forest cats and IceWings live in colder climates (especially IceWings jfc). Actually, cooler wind triggered a shift for me today lol (still going btw!!!!! i love being winter wings of fire lol)

It makes it hard to look at my hands sometimes, because they're not paws. I also sometimes have a (very weak) phantom tail/ears! It's pretty fun, got a big ol bushy cat tail!

The Question For Queer Representation

2024 surprises me in so far, that we finally seem to have reached the point where we can talk a bit more clearly about the question of queer representation.

Now, this seems to be a topic where we still very much see the difference between younger people within the community and older ones. Because the conversation is mostly driven by millenial and Gen X queers - while some of Gen Z and younger will still often insist on needing "Good Representation".

But I thought towards the end of this year's strange Pride Month, in which there was so little pinkwashing, I want to talk about this a bit. Even though I have spoken about this before.

Finally Some Toxic Gays

During those laIst two years something has happened. Not only did we see a sharp increase of queer representation in media, but we also got a lot more diverse queer representation. There is still a lot of cute and fluffy stuff, but also a lot of shitty and toxic gays with tons of bad habbits, that never the less are allowed to be the protagonists or otherwise important characters in their stories.

I took some characters I could think off in the picture above. And yes, I will admit, that I am mostly watching animated stuff, which shows above. Mostly because the more fantasy-oriented stuff tends to be animated. And yes, also because animated stuff is somehow a lot more openly queer.

But we got quite a lot either toxic, unhealthy or otherwise "problematic" gay characters. Be it those who betray their partners, or those who are abusive (Lestat in IWTV, Malcolm in Captain Laserhawk). Be it people who gaslight and manipulate (like both Carmilla and Olrox from Castlevania). Or be it those survivors of abuse, who have developed a lot of toxic coping mechanism (like Angel Dust or Astarion).

And I really got to say: This is good. It is actually good. At least in the context that it appears in now.

Gays Don't Need To Be Perfect

Now, it should be noted that of course - especially here on tumblr - quite a lot of people have complained about this. Like there are several blogs about each of the characters above and how they are horrible and the worst thing to happen to queer representation ever and such. As well as people who ignored several trigger warnings at the beginnings of episodes, only to then complain about being triggered. (This showed so very much with Hazbin Hotel Episode 4. Because that episode had a Trigger Warning.)

The one I found most interesting in terms of the anti-discourse was Astarion, though, probably. Because a lot of the discourse about him - outside being a toxic queer man - was also very much about how he was not a perfect victim. Sure, they did also complain about the other stuff and did not use the words "perfect victim", but it was surely implied in some blogs I saw. Basically using both the entire story with the Gur and his learned toxic behaviors to say: "He is not only bad queer representation, but also bad for sexual abuse/sex trafficking survivors." Which... is of course ironic, given that especially in terms of the latter he is a lot closer to reality than any innocent honey-bu would be.

And this is a big thing. See, here is the thing: In the real world, a lot of queer folks are messy. Because a lot of us are traumatized from the queerphobia that is so very present in society. So many of us have been abused for our queerness by parents, classmates and teachers. A lot of us do have mental health issues - and statistically we are also more likely to be neurodivergent to begin with. So many of us have learned quite a few bad coping mechanisms.

So, yes... This is just something that is fair to depict as well. Because the world is not that easy, if we are honest.

The Numbers Game

Now, if those shows and games had come out 10 years ago, I might have well deriled them as well. Not just because I was a lot younger then and had a very different idea of what made for good representation, but also because the numbers out there were different.

10 years ago, we barely had any queer representation. And back then, yes, it was very, very noticable to a lot of folks that most queer characters we got to say, were either shown to be shitty people, or would simply die or have a very miserable storyline with a lot of death and such things.

I will remind you: The Korrasami reveal, that was so important for studios/channels/services realizing that actually they could get away with a lot more than they had previously thought, happened in December 2014. The finale of the first season Steven Universe, where we got the Ruby/Sapphire reveal, happened a bit later in 2015.

Again, yes, those are animated examples, but... Well, it did not look better in terms of live action shows. While those (due to having older audiences) might have had their token queer character, this character often was either a stereotype, died, or was living a miserable life with no resolution.

And now? Well, now we can have the toxic gay vampires - be they named Lestat, Olrox, or Astarion - and we also can have sweet, fluffy queer representation in other shows, like Heartstopper. And it is good to have both of them. We deserve both.

The Missing Rep

I wrote an essay last year about this, but because tumblr's search is shit, I cannot find it again. So I will just put this out here again. Because I noticed an issue here - and you should notice the same issue if you look at the picture above.

The toxic queer characters right now are very much mostly men. Partly, because gay and bi/pan men make up a very large part of queer representation, especially in adult media. While I can name you quite a few fluffy, kidfriendly shows with lesbian or bi/pan female characters, the adult media often focuses more on queer men. And even if there are queer women, those are often a lot more wholesome, compared the men.

I mean, I think that Euphoria (which I don't watch) focuses more on queer young women, who are kinda shitty, but... Yeah, exceptions to the rule.

Now, we can speculate why this is. I personally still think that part of it has to do that sapphic women are seen as more innocent for several reasons. For one, we tend to portray women as more passive and innocent either way than men. But also, there is the fact that especially sapphic women are seen as a lot more innocent in total, because "they don't have real sex" (according to some people). As there is still the stigma that sex needs to involve at least one cock to be real sex.

And yeah, it should be noted that of course all the other types of queer representation are still lacking especially in Western media. We have little in terms of trans representation (especially trans men are super underrepresented), basically no intersex representation, and aroace representation is also quite lacking.

Conclusion

I think right now, we are making really good strides when it comes to at least certain types of representation. We get to see queer charactres in so many shows, movies, and games right now. Not to speak of books and comics. And this is good. No, not all the representation is perfect, but given that we get quite a lot it does not need to be.

No, having characters be toxic, depressed or otherwise not perfect does not make them bad representation. Because there are a lot of toxic, depressed and otherwise not perfect queer people in reality. And that deserves to be represented as well.

Yes, we need more representation of certain groups of queer people. Again: Trans folks, especially trans men, intersex people and aroaces do deserve more representation. Both the fluffy kind and the dramatic bitch type.

But... I really think folks need to stop complaining when queer characters in media are not perfect. It is okay for them to not be perfect. Real queer people are not either.

So, I think this question requires a nuanced answer.

On the one hand, they piss me off. Especially the ones that sensationalize the horror without paying respect to the actual survivors of the horror. Unfortunately, content farm type YouTubers and a lot of true crime YouTubers don’t do a very good job of being respectful about the topics. To them, it’s a scary story to tell to their fans to make money. To those who survived cults like these, it’s real life. We don’t get to turn off the computer or unplug the headphones from our podcast and move on with our life, these are our real life experiences that live on with us forever.

In the rare occurrence that a YouTuber or podcaster DOES pay respect to survivors and victims and doesn’t sensationalize it, I do appreciate that they are spreading awareness that this sort of thing is real and really does happen. It is annoying that survivors have to rely on YouTubers of all people to tell their stories and be believed about them, because gods forbid a survivor tells their firsthand account of these experiences.

I once encountered a YouTuber that did a significantly better job than most when talking about a particular topic related to cults and CSEM, and I commented something along the lines of “as a survivor, thank you for talking about the topic respectfully and sharing the horror without sensationalizing it,” and the comment replies I got from people ranged from “I am so sorry you went through what you did, you are very strong for continuing to heal from such atrocities” to people literally begging me for details on what happened to me (and when I said “lol no” they got ANGRY at me! Like, are you kidding??) Multiple people tried to claim that since I disclosed I was a survivor of a very similar sort of trauma and abuse, I should be willing to talk about details and they “didn’t see what the big deal was” and seemed incredibly annoyed that I wasn’t willing to disclose the details of the atrocities I have lived through. As if the second I disclose that I have lived through something terrible, they are now entitled to know the details of said traumas. Thankfully, most people in my comment replies had sense and told those people that they were being absolutely ridiculous for trying to force what happened out of me and that they were not entitled to hear my story. And then of course, the commenters saying I was a liar and faking and that “children don’t actually survive these things” and such like that. It was absolutely incredible the amount of immense entitlement to my information and that people genuinely demanded for me, a random YouTube commenter, to disclose the horrific things that happened to me.

And that I believe is the main problem with true crime enjoyers and content creators. They don’t see us as people, they see us as content. And if you don’t see the fucking irony in that, I don’t know what to tell you. I was content to be consumed as a child and I am once again content to be consumed as an adult. Nobody sees survivors as real people who lived these things and are affected by them forever. They see us as a scary story to listen to while they fold the laundry and turn off when it turns their stomach too much. They listen to this stuff so often that it desensitizes them to the fact that this stuff is real life and happens to real people and those people DO survive this stuff.

Don’t get me wrong, I also enjoy listening to some true crime. But whenever I see content creators on YouTube and podcasts sensationalizing and not paying respect to the survivors and victims of said atrocities, I can’t listen to them anymore.

Top 3 Animals

1) Crocodiles — There used to be many saltwater crocodiles back in my mom's province. These are the largest reptiles in the world so just seeing them (from a very far, safe distance away) is pretty awe-inspiring. One of these was so gargantuan we put a replica of its skeleton on display in the national museum in Manila, hung over the lobby. We also have Philippine Crocodiles which are endemic to the country, but I've only seen juvenile ones at a zoo since they're endangered and all.

2) Turtles — There are very few experiences like being on the beach and seeing a sea turtle in the wild. One time we were on a fishing boat and someone screamed, I thought for sure it meant someone spotted a shark, but when I leaned over to look, there was a sea turtle poking its head out right above the coral reefs to watch us. There's not many perks to living in the tropics, but this is one of them.

3) Kulasisi — These are very tiny parrots (I think the smallest in the world even?) that aren't common, but can be found virtually anywhere. One of my favorite classes back in college was birdwatching, where one of our sessions found a couple nesting pairs right outside one of the buildings. It was because of that class that I realized it was a Kulasisi that was making the bird calls I would hear when getting up in the morning to go to class

Top 3 Colors

1) Purple — My grandmother's favorite color, and mine eventually. I used to be a blue person until I shifted to darker purple and violet as I got older

2) Blue — I still like it

3) Black — I really liked the Matrix

Top 3 Games

I'm a big gamer (enough that I went into gamedev for a living despite everything) so this is probably the most malleable list. I'm not difficult to please and generally like a lot of stuff, so a top 3 favorite games list could look very different each time, barring one game.

1) Dota 2 — I have over 5000 hours in my favorite game of all time. Picked it up in 2012, and then it was all over for me. I can go stretches of up to 6 months without touching the game, but when I reopen it, the hype comes flooding back.

2) Devil May Cry 5 — I continue to hold the opinion that DMC5 hit the platonic ideal of stylish action game design, V's lack of depth notwithstanding. The game has been out for 5 years and people are still uploading new runs, finding all these tricks and secrets in the game just as they did with DMC3 and 4 before it. If Dante only got wall running and Wild Stomp back from 3, it might be as close to perfect as you can get. Devil Trigger and Bury The Light are also among my favorite video game songs of all time, among the likes of Killer Instinct's or Metal Gear Rising's

3) Metal Gear Solid 4 — MGS3 is the better game, MGS1 and 2 are more iconic, but MGS4 rescued the PS3 from irrelevancy before Uncharted 2 made it big. Holy shit that game looked unbelievably good when it first came out. The way Snake would lie still and camouflage into the floor while bullets sprayed the ground right in front of him while mooing mechs and soldiers were mere feet away blew my mind.

Games like Resident Evil 4 three years earlier really popularized making cinematic cutscenes that were rendered in-game rather than pre-rendered, but I didn't realize the possibilities behind it until MGS4's Raiden vs Vamp. A complex action scene where Raiden and Vamp had a sword duel would always be cool, but what pushed it over the top was that you kept playing the whole time it was happening. MGS4 would split the screen, playing the cutscene in one half, while in the other you had to carry on with your mission, and goddamn that sure was a moment of thinking "Wow this really is next gen"

Will say some of the leaks for Ryan and Tek Knight made me feel as if Ryan drinking booze was gonna be a big deal but it was nothing that no characther cared about, i thought Elijah was gonna murder Tek over him being a racist cunt (seems like a re-write from Gen V in my opinion) not bcuz he didnt want him to help run american prison camps... like... 😬

I think Tek Knight was wasted as a characther and am unsure if he was suddenly the 7th member of the seven.

The whole meeting of the 1% ppl gave me Succession vibes but like a bad succession fanfic with none of the good writing and i felt bad for HL and Sage being humiliated (specially considering Sage had just dropped her lore about how nobody took her a black woman seriously so when she had the chance of being taken seriously by the same powers that stopped her from curing leukemia she is there acting like a toddler to be made fun by the same cunts who looked down on her).

I also continue to care so little about Frenchie and Kimiko storyline in this season.

I also wish the ep had come with a massive trigger warning for sexual assault as Hughie is SA'd by Tek and Ashley-- and rape/SA by coersion or threat is rape/SA no matter what... hughie had no choice to agree to play along or be murdered by Tek or HL... he was also almost rape by Tek bcuz he was gonna go all snuff on us and rape his gaping wounds. Worst part is that it was played for laughs.

The scene with Firecracker and Homie drinking titty milk was not remotely gross or shocking.

It was actually somewhat sweet and i wonder what kind of bible-thumping-puritan-hand-holding-is- lewd-ass thinking group of writers thought that would be a shocking scene...?? like obviously they all feel like kink is freaky and disturbing and obscene but making BDSM and lactation fetish evidence of evil behaviour or something that we the viewer should find grotesque offends me.

Like am not into the bdsm scene but i imagine yall in the scene fucking hate the rep yall got.

But as for the other kinks... like if they think breastfeeding is this freaky and wacky... i implore them to dare look at my list of kinks they probably crucify me on the spot for being into exhibitionism and voyeurism...

it DOES make sense that the second gen cape is the one to give the second gen cape exposition dump. he’s not really making fun of second generation capes–it is true that second generation capes have easy trigger events relative to first generation capes, and he’s stating it in a pretty objective way. i don’t see the point of the statement being to make sure people don’t think he is one. they would have no reason to assume that he is, and if he wanted to avoid them thinking it, he simply would just not reveal he knows anything about second gen capes. first gen triggers are about the really big moments, the life-ruining shit that sears itself into your consciousness. second gen triggers are about quieter moments of misery that would be unremarkable if not for how well they summarize or exemplify a creeping, long-running way your life has sucked. so i do actually like the idea that alec does think he got off easy with his trigger–that it wasn’t any of the forced attempts that got him, but one otherwise forgettable little moment that underscored the key aspects of his trauma. his power implies a lot of things but one of the coremost traits is the fact that it allows him to force people to help or protect him, to make them act like they care even if he can’t force them to actually care. and the most detailed memory he recalls in his interlude is crying bc he wanted something + being abused for it. and we know that After his trigger is specifically when he emotionally shut down, and things stopped Getting To Him. put all that together and i could see his trigger event being just some understated moment of abandonment, some little moment where he was a little sad or lonely or hurt, tried one last time to get a bit of concern or comfort from someone, and was shoved aside as he always was. and it was the final little bit of damage that pushed him over the edge and shut him down forever. and the thing is that he’s extremely repressed and understands Jack Shit about himself, so it’s completely plausible that he would have 0 idea why the event–so small compared to everything else he went through–triggered him. i could see him regarding it as something a little awkward and embarrassing, the time he got off easy compared to first gens, sort of stupid of himself that after All That the one thing that finally made him trigger was so dumb and tiny. which completely explains why he would want to avoid fessing up to it despite stating that second gen capes have it easier. admitting something That Fucking Small upset HIM bad enough to trigger? alec “no i promise i’m never upset i don’t even care about anything” “emotional repression” vasil? absolutely the fuck not! also, i can 100% see him thinking like. “all those horrible things i did and experienced didn’t make me trigger…but one random small thing did..so i didn’t really care about all the other stuff that much.” because he’s dysfunctional.

hi there :) i think that i may be plural in some way, but im struggling to figure out if i actually am. i dissociate a lot, but recently i’ve been feeling as though my very very heavy dissociative episodes may not just be dissociation. it feel sort of like it isn’t really me doing those things. i also sometimes experience what could be mild amnesiac barriers. i also sometimes feel more comfortable with we/us than i/me, and sometimes will use we/us automatically

so, do you have any advice on how to tell if one is plural?? or how to tell dissociation from switching?

also, if i am plural, do you have any advice on how i can learn more about my aspects/headmates? or any general advice for questioning and newly discovered plurals???

Hmmm well our most affective advice would depend on what type of plurality you think you may be experiencing. 

Like for example do you think it may be a CDD, traumagenic or purely endogenic?/nf/genq

But we can provide some basic/non specific advice

so to answer your question about dissociation vs. switching 

For us ussualy we dissociate before we switch! 

We don’t have big amnesiac barriers anymore/oftenly so most of the time the others communicate when they are switching!

But we mostly suggest when dissociating trying to tell if you feel as if you are not yourself/in control or if you feel that there’s another “presence” like your not alone 

And we also suggest maybe logging any memory gaps/nf/gen

And our advice about head-mates is 

try and establish written/physical communication via a question sheet that’s written down on paper or Google docs so that if/when someone else fronts they can answer the questions!

Create a Pronouns.CC and/or a Simply plural to help keep track of the headmates! That is if you are able to establish contact/gen 

Try and not doubt yourself/gen denial/doubt can hinder communication with head mates(like for example for the longest time i(the host) just chalked our head-mates as imaginary friends or just..thoughts)

Our biggest advice for (newly) discovered plurals is to (if you have any and if it’s safe) figure out what is a positive vs negative trigger WICH you should not try and figure out negative triggers if it will hurt you or the others/gen

ur makima post made me want to read chainsaw man omfg i cant tlel if its really that good or you just make it sound that good. is it misogynistic like shounens tend to be ☹️

misogyny in chainsaw man is interesting. as i mentioned, you see a lot of the series through denji's point of view, and he is sort of a passively sexist sixteen-year-old boy. however i find that chainsaw man has some of the most complex and interesting female characters in most new-gen shounen.

a big part of denji's character arc is learning to view women as more than one thing, basically, which coincides with him slowly learning that what he craves in women is intimacy and genuine connection. by the end of part one, denji's closest female bond is with a young girl who he becomes the adoptive brother of, taking care of her like aki once did for him.

so, like, there's the running joke that denji is horny, and yeah, sure, he is. his big motivation for a bit of the first part is that he wants to touch boobs. but then this ends up happening with power, and he feels nothing, which is super telling of what he actually wanted out of the experience (and what makima later uses to manipulate him with, by explaining the concepts of intimacy and passion).

i find the female character design to be really cool, too. i feel like in any other manga, makima who plays into the seductress role would be wearing really tight clothes with insane body proportions, but she just kinda looks like this:

as you can see, she also wears a lot of heavy, bulky trench coats that make her look bigger and more intimidating. i really adore how makima is designed—she's not over-the-top sexy ( attractive, obviously ), but it puts more emphasis on the mental work she has to do to enamour denji to her, rather than relying purely on her physical appearance.

i think fujimoto has good female character design down in general, really. i find that the one-off devils they encounter are a fairly even-split mix of male-coded and female-coded, and he seems to have more fun designing female characters in general, lol. i mean, the protag of part two is a schoolgirl, and she wears like... an accurate japanese school uniform which... count on one hanf the amount of times you see girls wearing accurate uniforms in a shounen:

so like, long answer short. because the message of the series is that denji needs to earn self-respect, and stop seeking it in women, he (and we) slowly become disillusioned to the objectification of women. i find that the couple of side-eye moments i might have, like asa stripping down to her underwear for one fight, are overshadowed by how complex and dimensional the female characters are, and how much care fujimoto puts into creating them.

Well dear anon I think the answer to this is probably all of them.

Genesis: Gen is extremely sensitive and emotional insomuch as he is sensitive to rejection and easily triggered by feelings of inadequacy. I think Gen probably gets triggered emotionally by quite a lot. Anytime his intellect or physical ability is called into question Genesis immediately takes a defensive position.

This mostly comes from being such an emotionally disregulated child. His parents were only ever interested in what Genesis could provide for them in terms of his inventions (which I believe there probably more than just the Apple juice, it’s just that, that is what he’s most famous for.) they didn’t really have time for his outburst and I think that even if Genesis’s Nanny’s were precious too him he still craved his mother and fathers attention.

As an adult he has lost interest in trying to get them to pay attention to him as a person, but his sensitivity to being ignored or rejected rears it’s ugly head in a reminder that he will always be that lonely little boy, who talked too much yet still couldn’t get his mama to look at him.

Angeal: I think Angeal used to be quite a sensitive kiddie. He was certainly the most likely to cry over kittens and movies. The difference is, Angeal was taught how to regulate his emotions. The times when Angeal found himself overwhelmed I believe his father would talk him through it. Angeals father is too big of a crux in Angeals story for me to believe he wasn’t an emotionally open man. I think Angeal learned a lot about being emotionally open and empathetic from his father.

The trouble comes, however, when his father dies. I think Angeal relied a lot on his father to coach him through his more disregulated moments. I think none of the firsts actually have a natural ability to regulate themselves because of the mako and Angeal relied upon his father to be his regulation.

Angeal knows it’s okay to cry, he knows fondness is an okay emotion; that love is what drives us. But his fathers death makes Angeal close off to what he’s been taught because it hurts. In the end Angeals sensitivity and emotional intelligence is what kills him.

He feels too much. Too much honour, too much guilt, too much anger and sorrow.

Sephiroth: arguably Sephiroth is the MOST sensitive of the three. You don’t burn down an entire village and commit mass genocide after finding out you’ve been lied too your entire life because your not emotional. Sephiroth has always been sensitive, he just has a screwy way of showing it.

He’s closed of and snappish. He locks himself away and stops eating. He shuts down. Refuses to verbally respond. Sephiroth emotional is the worst version of himself. And -like Genesis- it’s absolutely his parents fault. Hojo is a bastard of the highest order. In fact bastard isn’t a strong enough word but I don’t wish to be shadow banned. The man abused Sephiroth his entire life, he tortured him into subservience and the people Seph learned how to emote from are not exactly masters in their field.

We know something’s about to go down with Glen. Genesis seems to think hitting people with fire spells is an acceptable way to show affection and Angeals so busy obsessing over honour he confuses friendship with command. Sephiroth has zero healthy remodels for this kind of thing.

The man has abandonment issues, he’s isolated and afraid. Sephiroth is absolutely emotionally unstable and I’d argue he has always been so. I believe it is Shirley Jackson who said “no living organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality.” And when your reality is like Sephiroth’s it’s a wonder you haven’t gone mad sooner.
