Q did a good job this challenge but Nymphia did an amazing job. At the start of the episode they kept naming these iconic goth characters alongside fashion houses. Then Nymphia got on the runway and served a look that could genuinely be seen walking the runway but she lost out on the win?

I wonder if her flub in snatch game has lowered her in the producer's radars or that they don't want to give her a third win before Sapphira gets her second. I assume the producers want to at least keep the playing field level. Also the critiques they gave her were just strange. "Couldn't see her face" It's a goth look and she lifted the veil. This is a fashion challenge not a face challenge. "She couldn't walk in it." She walked as the look and it's not like she was tripping over herself or anything.

The reason why book!Howl works for me and movie!Howl doesn't is because Howl in the books has every trait of the movie version but he is worse and infinitely infuriating and it is entertaining lmao. Everybody around him knows he's The Jerk and nobody takes him seriously and everybody is cleaning up after his mess. He is a whiny baby from the beginning till the end and lmao it is funny. He tries to be better, that surely counts, but never are we FORCED to like him.

And I love book!Howl because he repeatedly serves chaos and bullshit to the plot that keeps it going. Even Sophie is chaotic and flawed and absolutely does not tolerate his bullshit.

Movie!Howl, on the other hand, is turned into this gallant hero which kinda cracks me up because that's who Howl wants to be. If they could have used him as side character then maybe we could have gotten to acknowledge his bad traits as what they are??? But he was the hero. He needed a quick redemption arc ig which just did NOT work for me

Like- idk how this is going to sound but-

If we take away his iconic fashion, his dangly earrings, and just consider the entire plot of the movie version...

Looking for ideas/advice

I've already asked friends and will try a few things, but I also want to throw this out to dogblr for more ideas:

Zaku likes to leave a few kibbles to a mouthful of food in his bowl at mealtimes. It doesn't really matter how much I feed him-- he always leaves a few kibbles in his bowl. I recently cut back on his breakfast because he prefers more food at dinnertime, and he still leaves kibbles in his bowl. He also leaves food in his toppl; he'll eat most of it and leave a bit of residue at the bottom. Stuff he's left in his toppl includes peanut butter, tuna fish, kibble (both his and Kermit's), and cottage cheese. These are all things he actively likes. If I dig it out for him he eats it happily.

Because he's been growing like a weed and has been very thin, I've been offering him food whenever he indicates he's hungry. Now that his major growth is over I'll be enforcing more strict mealtimes (e.g. breakfast and dinner only, no lunch or snacks).

I've been putting a topper on his dinner (daily fish oil, usually wet food, sometimes a raw egg or sardines/tuna). Kermit gets a topper to encourage him to eat, and Zaku gets a topper because Kermit does and to keep weight on. Breakfast is plain kibble with water splashed on top. He does not like dry kibble. I've done food scatters on the floor and in his crate, and he still leaves a handful of kibble behind.

Zaku eats a mixture of Purina Pro Plan Sport Mix Puppy and Diamond Puppy.

So my question is: How do I encourage him to finish his damn meals? He's a good weight and this isn't dire, it's just annoying. If I gave him fish or egg and need to wash his bowl, I don't want to throw away perfectly good (and expensive) kibble. I also don't want to take up room in the fridge saving it to finish later.

Okay, but the one line that actually bothered in the entire show, the one I keep coming back to because fuck that, is when Charlie says "he allowed the extermination to happen in the first place", like EXCUSE YOU, what makes you think for a single fucking second that he had ANY authority to stop it? He was literally casted out and it's a motherfucking miracle they listened to him at all to have those meetings or to get a pardon for the creatures born in hell. It doesn't mean that he APPROVED any of that extermination shit or even wanted it. "They had a meeting and decided to kill everyone" doesn't mean that they were in equal footing at all. You already had a meeting with Adam and look how well that turned out for you. You should know by now that is not that easy. Like, I know that Lucifer is the being most powerful of all of hell and she grew up knowing that, but, lady, you really need to understand that being in hell was supposed to be Lucifer's punishment. He isn't a hero for them. He isn't even a friend. He is a fucking shame for all of heaven. So kindly fuck off with the blaming him for what Heaven decided to do completely on it's own.

So, I heard someone call Nimona a "cringe, not like the other girls uwu movie."

All I gotta say is....

There's no way you actually watched it.

Because that movie had a lot of silly, goofy moments, but it was also very relatable and heart-wrenching to LGBTQ+ folks like myself.

It's one of those times when I'm angry it's trendy because now, the meanest tiktok girls and transphobes are going to find it and tear apart anyone who saw the allegory. (See: Barbie, Wednesday, every other trending piece of media that had a message beyond its social media presentation in the past year) Yet, at the same time, I want it to become even more popular so as many people as possible see the obvious symbolism and how moving this movie was.

(So, trigger warning for a suicide mention I guess? And spoilers, too?Like, it's heavily implied that's what Nimona was doing in her panic)

The part at the end of the movie? Where Nimona had their breakdown and charged at the city as a monster, intending to end her own life on the statue's sword, because she was in so much pain? And the only thing that made them stop was Ballister telling her she was seen and loved?

I sobbed.

Because I never had that person. I've been in this battle, against society, against my body, all alone.

And seeing that moment? That made me feel like I was so much stronger for making it out alive. Because I've always been the only one seeing myself as I really am.

And yeah, I get it, it's trendy, it's funny, it's not that deep. But it was to me. And I don't mean to be a gatekeeping weirdo, but as a trans, fem-presenting, traumatized, punk teen who feels less than human, this movie was basically made for me, because that's the protagonist's whole thing.

Like... if we're going to boil Nimona down into some "uwu I'm quirkier than you" character, I guess we have to turn the others into bland caricatures, too. Which we already did. Ballister already got the pathetic blorbo treatment, which I'm fine with, because turning any character into the pathetic blorbo of the week is always funny, but now people who only know the movie and comic from 30 second edits will think that's all there is to him, and ignore the part where he kept a trans character from taking her own life.

I know, I'm overreacting, and this is the most invested I've gotten in a piece of media since the Dark Ages of my life where I liked Gravity Falls and disliked its fandom stereotype.

This whole post was probably a bad idea, I know I'm not supposed to get invested in things I didn't create, but it was just on my mind.
