#thinking abt how I always share my cultures food with a friend #and a third friend got jealous and complained #so I got them both A Food that comes in a sealed bag #third friend complains she doesn't like that flavor of food and left said bag on a side table at her house #it's been sitting there for 2 years #I see it every time I go over there #a constant reminder of this super awkward experience #like babe if you haven't thrown it away when it's freaking expired then you're purposely being mean #AND I another time I made a soup that's very much My Culture and dropped some off to make up for above #see her partner the following weekend and ask 'did she like the soup?'#'she liked the broth'#which was just a broth made from chicken bones and veggies #the special part of the soup is what's IN the broth #also sorry if culture is the wrong word #tryna keep it vague bc I fully admit we at times eat weird shit #it's not abt the actual food #anyways I stopped trying after that

i maintain that the reason goro sucks at cooking is bc he absolutely cannot for the life of him experiment with it. he can follow instructions fine but if there's vague terms or if something says to eyeball it he's completely lost. that, and goro cannot stand having to do multiple things at once and will absolutely burn a building down because he wasn't keeping a close enough eye on the stove. this is what makes akira so good at cooking, on the other hand--he thrives at experimenting and taste testing and the chaos of the kitchen is something he lives for.

HOWEVER. goro is very good at following a step-by-step guide. he is extremely meticulous. he is capable of being precise with measurements. so once he's introduced to it, goro becomes an incredible baker. it even becomes therapeutic, a method of relaxing after a long day. akira hates baking for the same reasons goro loves it, but loves having yummy tasty treats, so baking becomes goro's forte.

unfortunately, being the friend who brings baked goods to every hangout means goro is not escaping the has-a-sweet-tooth allegations anytime soon.

#if you're curious I do think goro has a sweet tooth. or did as a kid. but had to play it up for the cameras so much #and food became such a Means To An End (like everything else) that he stopped caring abt taste and grew resentful of the sweet tooth #shtick just like he grew resentful of the detective prince as a whole. so he isn't *lying* when he says it's for the cameras #but he also isn't telling the truth either. ofc the sweet tooth thing is a lie just like everything about the detective prince is a lie #<- delusional. the mask is just as much a part of him as what it disguises #baby goro loved his mother's pancakes is what im saying. back when she still cooked for him........#(so pancakes and sweets are also associated with his mother. which only complicated his feelings even further)#so yeah! that's my opinion on the does goro like sweets thing #well yes but actually no but actually yes #sera posts #goro akechi #sera talks goro

Okay I need to write something abt Ivy's brain overheating n starting to cook her head bc it overworks and there's no way there's enough space in her super computer brain for an efficient cooling system combined with Tim involuntarily salivating and feeling hungry when he smells burning flesh as a hold over from eating corpses during the Moon War. This is no longer a want it is a need.

#Been thinking about this for DAYS but every time I open a word doc I get so frozen with emotions abt them so I end up writing nothing #ivy alexandria #gunpowder tim #the mechanisms #I can't stop thinking about it #picturing something like Tim just chilling in Ivy's library/archives. like he's got a bad migraine and wants to take refuge in the quiet #but he's leafing through a random shelf- not really looking at the titles- as an excuse to be there.#when he smells it #a harsh scent undercuttng the stale and dusty atmosphere and rising until it is as loud and pounding as his thundering heart #logically he knows it isn't actually that strong. but it's been long since they were planetside and even longer since he had to smell that #it's all consuming. and for a long moment he stands frozen.#Stomach sunk in his chest only for Tim to be filled with horror when he realizes he's salivating.#and then all he feels filled with is disgust.#he stumbles through the shelves. Fully aware that it could only be coming from Ivy.#He's not quite sure if it's the scent that draws him or a bastardized version of concern.#Either way she's researching in the exact same spot she was when he came in. okay, so, i might be looking too much into this, but hear me out.

in s1ep1 of carmen sandiego (2019), when carmen's recounting her backstory to gray, she talks about letting her friends tag along to greet cookie booker by throwing water balloons at her. there are 5 of them in their little criminal friend group (or as i like to call them, the crimesters™), and they throw red water balloons. they throw five red water balloons at cookie booker. and ms booker is obviously a pretty important person in vile, as she is the bookkeeper and she delivers the hard drive.

and there are five official team red members. and they go against vile. using the hard drive. the water balloons represent the future team red. oh my god

maybe im just tired and making things up, but if this is the case then that would be some amazing foreshadowing
