some thoughts on the update:

from the 9th panel onwards, i noticed that there were black bars?? and like gosh as always, kudos to ngozi!!!

firstly, it made it feel cinematic, and puts the focus on the characters!!!

secondly, it makes it feel like we’re there with them and peeking into their life.

lastly, it makes it seem like they’re the only people in the world and gosh that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

a negative part of me is very worried for both of them.

bittle isn’t out to his parents yet, and they’re both probably watching the final?? bittle was already so terrified of talking to his mom??? aaaaaaaah??

and jack, oh god!!! as if there aren’t any cameras focused on him in that moment!!! he’s just won the most difficult prize to win in sports and like,,,, he isn’t out to the entire world. and like it’ll be so hard on him and i just want him to be happy!!!!
