Logan invited himself over the next day and helped himself to Tessa and Ravi’s lunch. He also reminded me why I don’t normally put stuffed animals (or “stuffies,” as my daughter calls them) on lots.
Okay, Logan, I get it. You want some attention. Your household is up next, but let me finish up with Tessa and Ravi first.

The Covenant Au.
If y’all haven’t seen this movie imma about to put you on. Like it’s so good.
Four boys meet at summer camp and find out that they are descendant for powerful witches/warlocks.
It starts with them in high school (or college, the movie was never clear about that) and there is somebody threatening that power. A fifth member that they thought died long ago. They don’t know what they want or who it is. Also if they use too much of their power it drains their life force so their power could kill them.

New poll suggests majority of Canadians want COVID-19 restrictions to end
Like many of us, Bruce MacDonald is ready to see the pandemic end.
"I am certainly ready to say goodbye to it anytime,” said MacDonald.
We are now 23 months into the COVID-19 pandemic and Dr. Trevor Jain, an emergency room physician and disaster medicine specialist on Prince Edward Island, expects we will soon start to hear new messaging from public health officials.
"This disease, although we're still in a pandemic, is going to become endemic,” said Jain.
“You've started to see that with Dr. Bonnie Henry in British Columbia. She started to pave the way forward to say that we are going to treat this like other serious respiratory illnesses. So some people have took that and said, ‘Oh, we're going to treat it like the common cold.' Absolutely not. It's going to be treated like influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, other serious respiratory viruses."
As the pandemic lingers on, some are ready to ease public health measures.
"I enjoy going to restaurants and being social so that part of it is always tricky. Travelling is tricky, so yes. I'm definitely looking forward to getting back to a new normal,” said Josee Grace, who is visiting Nova Scotia from British Columbia.
According to a recent Angus Reid poll, in the last two weeks, the number of Canadians saying they would like to see restrictions end has risen by 15 percentage points, to an overall majority of 54 per cent.
"As long as Dr. Strang says he wants restrictions, I'm going to go with him,” said MacDonald.
But as long as the Omicron wave is still a factor, people are encouraged to get vaccinated.
"The Omicron variant, the disease it causes is mild but it doesn't mean that everyone will have a milder disease. Some people will progress to a severe disease, some people will unfortunately die from it as well,” said Dr. Zayid Butt, a physician and infectious disease epidemiologist in Waterloo, Ontario.

2020’s Self Care Books for Trying Times
With Covid-19 a global pandemic that is still lingering in the air, and keeping our connections at a social distance, added how here at NYPL our librarians miss the frequent interactions with our patrons, I was contemplating on ways to keep our reading connected, our souls warm, and our health having its self care. Before google, I’d rely on the plethora of information our branches hold on any challenge in life I’d be facing. Now with a myriad of problems we can tackle, and resources we can all use to improve our lives, I wanted to tackle grounding and elevating ourselves to cope with our surroundings, than advice I can provide on financial, relationship, life goals, etc.
In this blog “2020’s Self Care Books 4 Trying Times” I’ve comprised my 20 favorite titles for the year 2020 on wellness, people’s journeys, and how health experts can help guide us to a calm and vibrant place for our wellbeing. From parenting tips, to self acceptance, coping with a mental health disorder, or even self care rituals, the need for healthy habits is a topic we all can relate and rely on to keep us striving through this winter, and being united through our current unstable climate. We should never be ashamed of our experiences, asking for help, and addressing challenges in our lives to be at peace with our pasts, content with our present, and hopeful about our futures.
What is Self-care, according to very well mind, describes a conscious act one takes in order to promote their own physical, mental, and emotional health. There are many forms self-care may take. It could be ensuring you get enough sleep every night or stepping outside for a few minutes for some fresh air.
What is mindfulness? Mindfulness refers to being in the moment. This means feeling what our bodies feel, letting ourselves think without judging our thoughts, and being aware of our environment. It is about paying attention on purpose to both what is happening inside and outside of you.

Violet Shrink by Christine Baldacchino
Topics: Phobias, Relationships, Social Skills
Violet Shrink doesn't like parties. Or bashes, or gatherings. Lots of people and lots of noise make Violet's tummy ache and her hands sweat. She would much rather spend time on her own, watching the birds in her backyard, reading comics, or listening to music through her purple headphones. The problem is that the whole Shrink family loves parties with loud music and games and dancing. At cousin Char's birthday party, Violet hides under a table and imagines she is a shark gliding effortlessly through the water, looking for food. And at Auntie Marlene and Uncle Leli's anniversary bash, Violet sits alone at the top of the stairs, imagining she is a slithering snake way up in the branches. When Violet learns that the Shrink family reunion is fast approaching, she musters up the courage to have a talk with her dad. In this thoughtful story about understanding and acceptance, Violet's natural introversion and feelings of social anxiety are normalized when she and her father reach a solution together. Christine Baldacchino's warm text demonstrates the role imagination often plays for children dealing with anxiety, and the power of a child expressing their feelings to a parent who is there to listen. Carmen Mok's charming illustrations perfectly capture Violet's emotions and the vibrancy of her imagination. A valuable contribution to books addressing mental health."-- Provided by publisher.

Pre-2020 Books
Aphorism by Franz Kafka
Topics: Life Quotes, Recovery, Future Planning
For the first time, a single volume that collects all of the aphorisms penned by this universally acclaimed twentieth-century literary figure. Kafka twice wrote aphorisms in his lifetime. The first effort was a series of 109, known as the Zurau Aphorisms, which were written between September 1917 and April 1918, and originally published posthumously by his friend, Max Brod, in 1931. These aphorisms reflect on metaphysical and theological issues--as well as the occasional dog. The second sequence of aphorisms, numbering 41, appears in Kafka's 1920 diary dating from January 6 to February 29. It is in these aphorisms, whose subject is "He," where Kafka distills the unexpected nature of experience as one shaped by exigency and possibility."
This Book Loves You by PewDiePie
Topics: Life Skills, Inspiration, Food 4 Thought
A popular blogger shares humorous pieces of advice and positivity, including "Never forget you are beautiful compared to a fish" and "Every day is a new fresh start to stay in bed."
The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A Fuck: A Counterintuitive Approach To Living A Good Life by Mark Manson
Topic: Self Help, Happiness, Motivation
In this generation-defining self-help guide, a superstar blogger shows us that the key to being happier is to stop trying to be 'positive' all the time and instead become better at handling adversity. For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. But those days are over. 'Fuck positivity, ' Mark Manson says. 'Let's be honest; sometimes things are fucked up and we have to live with it.' For the past few years, Manson--via his wildly popular blog--has been working on correcting our delusional expectations for ourselves and for the world. He now brings his hard-fought wisdom to this groundbreaking book. Manson makes the argument--backed both by academic research and well-timed poop jokes--that improving our lives hinges not on our ability to turn lemons into lemonade, but on learning to better stomach lemons. Human beings are flawed and limited--as he writes, 'Not everybody can be extraordinary, there are winners and losers in society, and some of it is not fair or your fault.' Manson advises us to get to know our limitations and accept them. This, he says, is the real source of empowerment. Once we embrace our fears, faults, and uncertainties--once we stop running from and avoiding, and start confronting painful truths--we can begin to find the courage and confidence we desperately seek. 'In life, we have a limited amount of fucks to give. So you must choose your fucks wisely.' Manson brings a much-needed grab-you-by-the-shoulders moment of real-talk, filled with entertaining stories and profane, ruthless humor. This manifesto is a refreshing slap in the face for all of us so we can start to lead more contented, grounded lives."
Zen Pencils: Cartoon Quotes From Inspirational Folks by Gavin Aung Than
Topics: Writing Development, Expression, Quotes
Gavin Aung Than, an Australian graphic designer turned cartoonist, started the weekly Zen Pencils blog in February 2012. He describes his motivation for launching Zen Pencils: I was working in the boring corporate graphic design industry for eight years before finally quitting at the end of 2011 to pursue my passion for illustration and cartooning. At my old job, when my boss wasn't looking, I would waste time reading Wikipedia pages, main biographies about people whose lives were a lot more interesting than mine. Their stories and quotes eventually inspired me to leave my job to focus on what I really wanted to do. The idea of taking these inspiring quotes, combining them with my love of drawing, and sharing them with others led to the creation of Zen Pencils.

Lakshmi had invited herself over just as Tessa and Ravi were leaving for their date. When they returned, Logan happened to walk by, so they greeted him. Since Tessa was still hungry, Ravi cooked burgers for her and the Reids. I used their mealtime to practice picture taking at different angles.
***
Tessa and Ravi’s updates this round have felt disjointed to me because they don’t have much going on right now other than waiting for the baby to arrive. I often feel sorry for Tessa, Ravi, Lakshmi, and Logan. My other Sims are deeply entwined with each other’s lives and story lines, while these four are hanging out on their own.
Scarlett and Andreas also fall into this category, but Scarlett still has ties to my other Sims because she was an original member of Courtyard Dorm, and that original group are my favorite Sims in the hood. Still, I love the Reids and the Jain-O’Hannons too much to demote them to playable NPC status, so I’m hoping they will become more interesting as their children grow up or maybe an ROS will shake things up.

How to find a deleted tumblr’s blog posts without knowing the post’s names or titles. Information provided generously by people on the Quora website.
Information from Pete Reid’s answer on Quora: “You can try to find reblogs of the posts, as they’ll still be on tumblr.
You can also do a google search and type: “*site.tumblr.com name of blog”
The asterisk * will bring up posts that mention the deleted blog, and this includes reblogged posts.”
Information from Elina Jain on Quora:
“Type cache: before the URL (website address hyperlink) in google chrome’s web address bar, and a cached saved version of the deleted tumblr website blog will appear.
For example, if the URL is www.surfing.com, go to the google chrome search engine.
Type cache: www.surfing.com
The cached version of the deleted blog will appear. 🙂
You can also type in the hyperlink https://archive.org/web
Click on the hyperlink to see a copy of deleted blogs.
Having a software scrapebox helps. You also need proxies that work on google.”

Binance’s “Blitzscaling” Makes BNB Highly Undervalued, Claims Report
A new report claims that the crypto exchange giant Binance’s seemingly constant expansion is a calculated effort to position itself as the biggest player in an emerging market. The author borrows the term “blitzscaling” to describe the business plan.
Although its newest efforts might not be yielding massive results yet, the authors say Binance’s expansion into just about every corner of crypto may eventually make the exchange a cornerstone of an entirely new financial system. For this reason, those penning the report say that Binance Coin (BNB) is highly undervalued.
Could Binance Become a “Neo-Bank of the Future”
A new report published by Multicoin Capital argues that Binance, one of the largest and easily the most diverse cryptocurrency exchange on the planet, is positioning itself to become the centre of an entirely new financial system. Author of an accompanying article to the report itself, Tushar Jain, states that although the company’s aggressive expansion might not be yielding massive results yet, the company is setting itself up to be what he describes as a “neo-bank of the future”.
0/ We’ve been following Binance closely over the last 9 months and have observed that they are currently in Blitzscaling mode. And it doesn’t seem like the market is recognizing that

Jain borrows a term from LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman. In a previous paper about retail giant Amazon’s own rise to prominence, Hoffman uses a term he coined himself in an earlier work, “blitzscaling”:
“When a market is up for grabs, the risk isn’t inefficiency—the risk is playing it too safe. If you win, efficiency isn’t that important; if you lose, efficiency is completely irrelevant. Over the years, many have criticized Amazon for its risky strategy of consuming capital without delivering consistent profits.”
Of course, the two examples are somewhat different. Binance’s $15 million ICO in 2017 gave it ample room to manoeuvre in its early days. However, rather than simply enjoy the rewards for creating a hugely popular cryptocurrency exchange, the company has continued to expand, offering new products despite the 2018 market decline and current uncertainty surrounding prices.
The report mentions 12 major new Binance products or initiatives launched in quick succession as examples of its seemingly reckless expansion. These include futures, margin, lending, and options, as well as innovations like being able to use balances held at the exchange for collateral requirements and on-platform staking.
Jain comments:
“Binance is not just blitzscaling into the crypto exchanges market, but rather the entire global neo-banking market.”
For this reason the Multicoin Capital researchers believe that the Binance Coin (BNB) is undervalued. The report mentions various recent improvements to the perceived value proposition of BNB. These include airdrops for holders, BNB being the native token of the Binance Chain, and the Binance team burning its own holdings of the coin. The researchers write:
“Given the current state of the exchange token landscape, Binance’s market leading position, their willingness to copy competitive products, and their history of tweaking the token economics of BNB to provide more value for token holders, we believe that BNB is sharply undervalued at current prices.”
Understandably, given the generally growing appraisal of Binance, Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of the exchange, proudly tweeted his approval of its content.
Another in-depth analysis of @binance and $BNB by @multicoincap

Valuable Data or Pump and Dump?
Unfortunately, the report does smell of an effort to pump up interest in Binance Coin. As the authors themselves have admitted, Multicoin Capital holds BNB as part of its own portfolio. Whilst analysis of Binance’s business strategy mirroring those of other successful companies is interesting, the overt links to the performance of BNB made by an interested party does not make for them most convincing of reads.
Evidently, some of those interested in the cryptocurrency market felt this way about the recent Binance report too:
Hail, #Binance, Savior of open finance. Forget #Ethereum and #Bitcoin.
