Hi fandom twin! As someone who shares your love for jeyton and brucas and could write a novel-length rant on why I wish those had been the endgame ships, I'm curious which of those couples you love more and what some of your favorite scenes are for both Jeyton and Brucas :)

I do love Jeyton and Brucas but out of the two Jeyton has my whole heart! I love Brucas and all but Jeyton just gets me like I don't understand why! My favorite Jeyton scene is...all of them! No but their first kiss scene was just!! 🥰 My favorite Brucas scene is probably the rain scene or the one where she was leaving at the end of season 2 and Lucas tells her how he feels! I also love the Jeyton scene where he tells her he's never been happier than he's been with her and if he could he would stay with her forever! Jeyton has my heart! I love Brucas too but Jeyton! 🥺🥺🥰🥰

I’ve seen some leytons saying that jake was forcing peyton to be a step mom a peyton was living her daddy issues. I haven’t seen oth in a whiiiiile but i don’t remember that being the case. Like iirc Peyton liked taking care of Jake’s daughter.

I'm glad I'm not in the OTH fandom like that because every time I see a Leyton take I get DEr shipper vibes and get instantly annoyed (and I know there are Leyton shippers who check in on my blog, that's cool, I'm just saying every take I've personally seen has made me leave the tag) but like

1. I’m not going to delve deep into the psychology of “daddy issues” but if we’re going to be honest about Peyton and the issues she has with her father and how those issues manifest in the way she navigates romantic relationships, it would be with Lucas not Jake.

2. If the idea is that her feelings are not about Jake but only about Jenny, then they should actually rewatch season 2, particularly 2x14, because it’s an entire episode where Peyton is losing her mind because she feels this attraction to Jake

and it’s getting too intense for her that she’s like, I can’t keep sleeping in the same bed with you

like she’s giddy and she’s flirty and she’s cute-nervous with Jake

like ...

Jake says that he and Jenny have to move out because there are feelings/attraction involved and it would get too intense

and then Jake moves back in so they can be together, so they can go to bed like this

and wake up like this

They are very much attracted and in love with each other outside of Jenny.

2.  Peyton actually doesn’t really take on any motherly duties? Like Jenny doesn’t really interfere or affect her life outside of her relationship to Jake. Jake misses school because he’s too busy taking care of Jenny

that doesn’t happen with Peyton except for the road trip she takes to bring her back to Tree Hill.

Even when Nicki is back, she’s still at school

Jake goes to prison and doesn’t ask Peyton to look after Jenny, he entrusts her to Whitey, soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I skimmed and saw complaints that he never relies on his parents but that’s not a Jake problem, that’s a writing problem, the entire storyline is infeasible because they’re minors or at least Jake is and they have parents and  there are LAWS but if you’re watching OTH for logic then you’re going to be sorely disappointed. Then someone said their chemistry was just so-so and I had enough, haha.

Jake and Peyton deserved so much better. I preferred her with him and not with Lucas.

My sweethearts!!! I agree. I also think Jake is just a much better person and character than Lucas ever was, even in the limited time we get to see him. But he's also given the benefit of limited screentime which means a limited amount of time to fuck up. Especially since his entire character makeup is about caring for and protecting his daughter.
