Basically, it turns out April wasn't the only one he was having an affair with! Eduardo has two half-siblings that he doesn't know about, Toussaint is almost exactly the same age as him, and Maurice is around the same age as Moss

Elliot has now gotten divorced from Noelle Saint-James (after she found out about his cheating when April and Eduardo came to visit) and he is living together with his girlfriend Collette Bonnet and their kids, back in France

I'm sure they will become a part of the story soon... I have some plans for the future 😈

Harvestfest 🌲🍁🥧

(3rd Person POV)

Harvestfest is here again, with hordes of people descending on Newcrest (and like 5 in Brindelton bay) for a weekend of extreme family time. This post will be on the 'non heir' families that spawned from gen 2, so basically everyone from Danielle down to Harley. Thanks to my new and improved character pages, you should be able to figure out who they are and what their stories are that have led them to this point. I'll be posting them in reverse order so we'll start at the bottom and work our way to the top, so the 'heir + heir-ish' families (Allan, Branden, and Claire's) will have their own posts.

These are the Collins and Barnard Families. They had initially planned to travel to a cabin in the woods for a scenic harvestfest weekend, but conflicting work schedules meant that they put that plan on the backburner. They gathered at Fletcher and Cara's house for their grand meal, before heading to church for the evening service.

[F] Life has found a steady rhythm for Fletcher, Cara, and James Lee, Fletcher continues to work for the Newcrest Police Department, Cara continues her work as a Head of Fundraising and Marketing for the Newcrest Conservative Party. Their son James Lee goes to a top ranking private christian high school in the district, and is enjoying spending his time at after school activities and volunteering at various church ministries.

[G] Grayson continues his work as a doctor at Newcrest General Hospital, looking after patients as well as travelling round to speak and/or attend different conferences. He also speaks at various events, usually for various pro-life organisations and at political events. His wife Keira currently works part time at Newcrest General as a nurse whilst she finishes homeschooling their youngest son Archie, who goes to a co-op. When Archie goes to high school then Keira shall resume working full time at the hospital. Matthew attends the same high school as his cousin James Lee, and the two are thick as thieves, with James Lee feeling like a brother more than a cousin.

[H] Harley and her husband Gabriel continue to live and work in San Myshuno, Gabriel continues teaching at San Myshuno Culinary Academy and Harley still works as Editor in Chief for Myshuno Madness Magazine. The couple vacation regularly to see their family as well as to visit different parts of the country and the world. They enjoy spending time with their many siblings, nieces, and nephews at various times of the year.

Life continues on for the Godwin household, Amelia is now a teenager and is working her way through high school at her homeschool co-op. Ava Grace is almost done with highschool and is exploring her options for further education, she also plays on the volleyball team of the christian school that Kyra teaches at. Ruby Rae is a year into nursing school, she commutes to university so that she can save money. She hasn't decided what kind of nurse she wants to be yet, but she's firm in her desire to help people, her aunt Kiera has been helpful in the process of applying and attending nursing school. Rory is also in university

Kyra and her husband Tyler are enjoying married life, they both live and work close to both their families so they both often enough. They're working towards buying a house before expanding their family, right now they're just enjoying being married which they're very thankful for.

The Hunt households are thankful for time together, with James and Emma in Henley-on-Bagley as missionaries they don't get to be together as often. Gabriella is in high school, homeschooled by Danielle, and has not begun thinking about what she wants to do next. She often helps out at her dad's vet clinic, so she considering veterinary nursing as one of her options but she's in no rush. James and Emma moved on Henley-on-Bagley to be missionaries to help grow a church there and they are enjoying their time. They spend their days sharing the Gospel to those who live in town and in the wider area, as well as assisting at church services when needed. They've not had children yet, but are open to any that the Lord will send them. Danielle continues to homeschool Gabriella, and when she's not homeschooling her then she's working on baked goods to sell at various farmers markets or working at the bakery. Sebastian continues to run his veterinary clinic, and he's recently partnered with a veterinary school and will now be training those who make it to their clinical rotations.

1900s: The Thorpe Legacy

One of the things I’ve enjoyed most about the Sims since Sims 2 came out is seeing how the families develop and the genetics are passed down. Before we start following 1900s heir Frederick and his bride Sybil, I thought it might be nice to wrap up his siblings a bit. 

I don’t play the “spares”. I loved rotational gameplay in Sims 2, but have never really liked how it works in Sims 4. As such, I use MCCC (and now neighborhood story progression) to let them live out their lives. I do keep tabs on them though and have a spreadsheet where I track who they marry, their children, etc. Since they’ll not be seen much at all going forward, I wanted to share what their fates were.

First up, here’s Anna Ruth and William as young adults.

We’ll see plenty of Frederick later, but here’s a nice shot of him as a young adult in CAS as well. He very strongly resembles his father.

Next up is Frederick’s twin, Elizabeth.

I don’t think it’s a secret that I adore Elizabeth. She gained skills as a toddler so rapidly, she was given the genius trait as a child. She maxed the mischief skill autonomously and rapidly as well, so she was a...spirited child. I seriously considered making her heir because she was so much fun, but at the time, I didn’t really see her getting married. She didn’t seem like a woman who would want to be tied down by marriage and all that the societal norms of the time would entail. I saw her as likely asexual. Then one of her brothers brought Harry Swanson home from school, and she got all flirty while chatting with him so I changed course. I like when sims can surprise me like that. She married Harry, and had 3 children with him - Thomas, Ruth, and Harold. I think she absolutely would have been a suffragette, and perhaps this caused trouble in her marriage because Harry had at least 2 affairs that produced 2 additional children. Harry died quite young. Elizabeth focused on her children for many years, and then eventually remarried Roberto Herrera who was also widowed with 3 children. I think her second marriage was much happier. They seemed smitten anytime I saw them at family events. She raised 2 of her granddaughters after her eldest son Thomas and his wife both tragically passed at a young age. She and Roberto lived a long, full life before passing away from old age. 

The second set of twins is up next.

James probably had the simplest life out of all his siblings. He was a calm and quiet child, very laid back. He randomized the animal enthusiast trait at one of his age ups and also developed a love for gardening so it was decided pretty early on that he would be the one to take over the family farm. He married Millie Sedlak from a neighboring farm, very quickly had 3 children with her- Matthew, Emmaline, and Annie, and then a surprise later in life 4th baby, Nellie. Family was clearly very important to him as he was a frequent visitor and very close with his nieces/nephews. He passed away from old age on the family farm, which his son Matthew now runs. Millie was actually the last of that entire generation to die. 

James’ twin, Joseph, is not a sim I ever really got a good feel for, but he definitely made his life interesting. He was kind of a wild child, close with his siblings but always pushing boundaries and sometimes antagonistic. He didn’t seem interesting in anyone in his teen years, and for a while I thought maybe he would be gay and stay on the family farm. He brought home Camila literally every day from school and they were so close that I figured given that the expectation would be marriage for most people in the 1890s/1900s, they would likely get married even if it was more for convenience than true love. They eventually had 3 children together, Louisa and twins Manuel and Dora. Joseph had a bit of a midlife crisis (ie, I messed around with settings in MCCC and ended up with a TON of affair babies...) and had a daughter named Josephine with the best friend of his sister Charlotte, and another son Felix, with a widow who moved to town. Josephine’s mother passed away young, so she was adopted by Joseph and Camila. I feel that in a small town, it was probably an open secret that he was Josephine’s true father but it was the sort of thing not spoken of in polite company. I don’t know how Camila felt about these affairs- she and Joseph seemed close at family gatherings so she may have been perfectly fine with letting him do as he pleased. They remained married until passing away of old age. 

The baby of the family, Charlotte, also had a pretty mellow life. She married the son of neighbors, Charles Mason, and had 3 children with him- Clarence, Celia, and Cecil. I imagine she was recruited to the suffragette cause by her sister Elizabeth but was probably not quite as passionate. She remained close with her siblings and their children until her death of old age. 

That was a novel, but I wanted to document their lives if for no other reason than so I can look back at it someday.

- some people say shes cute, others say shes the most annoying girl on the team

- shes very smart for her age, but no one actually listens to whatever plan or strategy she comes up with

HAYLEY DAVIS (13)

- not exactly a member of the TT team, shes just an honorary member

- shes a part of it because sir topham hatt told the og steam team(mentors) to include her in it (“she has no friends and is almost out of time, please just give her this opportunity so she can die in peace.” - sir hatt)

- she has an illness that prevents her from doing things like running, exersicing, and working, and shes practically dying

- she can still do things like walk, talk, and eat by herself; but overtime her ability to do these things would decrease

- she got the illness from her mom, who is DEAD!!!!

- gets wounded very easily (everything at her house is safety proofed, like all the corners are rounded and stuff)

It was a warm Sunday afternoon, and excitement filled the air at the Borden house. Today marked the beginning of Alice’s teenage years, and she couldn’t wait to see what surprises were in store for her. 

Her parents kicked off the celebrations by giving her their gift. She opened the sparkling box to reveal her brand-new computer. She screamed and thanking her parents profusely, just before her guests began to trickle in. 

Blushing, she greeted each one of them shyly. Uncomfortable in the role of hostess, Alice had asked to go to the movie theatre for a simple evening with her friends. Instead, Kate had planned an elaborate backyard party. That way she would be just inside in case anyone needed anything. 

Once everyone had arrived, James started a bonfire and let the kids make s’mores. An idea his wife certainly would have vetoed. But thankfully, no one got burned.

The fire gradually died out as the sunset. The kids grabbed popcorn and chatted impatiently until the projector was set up. Then they finally settled in. Watching intently as the little dog made his way back home. Laughing along with all of his mishaps. 

When the credits finally rolled, they ran straight to the cake. Her parents were ready to go with candles lit. They began singing out of tune. Her friends joined in as Alice closed her eyes and made a wish. Blowing out her candles and becoming a confidant, overachieving teenager.

What are some of your favorite games of all time?

This is a great question, more questions about video games, less questions where people make up things I never said and demand I defend those positions, XD

Anyway, here's a short list:

Pathfinder: Kingmaker. The best isometric RPG ever made, in my opinion.

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. The best version of one of the best games ever made.

Mass Effect Trilogy. Yeah the third one shit the bed in a lot of ways, but I still enjoy the series as a whole. Playing a game series where your choices carried over from one game to the next was groundbreaking in the 2000s, and I always enjoyed my time with these games. Especially rereleased in the legendary edition.

Resident Evil 2, Original and Remake. My favorite Resident Evil game of all time. Great game, great story, great characters.

Resident Evil 4, original and remake. Second favorite Resident Evil game. Also, my husband's favorite game ever. I love seeing him get excited over it, XD

Suikoden 2. Great gameplay, great story, best game in the series.

Tales of Zesteria. Mikleo my beloved!

Jaws (NES). Yes, it's bad. Yes, it's short. No, I don't care. This was one of the first games I ever owned, and me and my dad used to play it together when I was very little. I have a lot of fond memories of trying to figure out how to beat the game with him. I still remember how excited we were when we started to figure out the gameplay loop for the very first time.

Mortal Kombat 2. The game that introduced me to the series, and still one of my old favorites. I still play and love MK to this day because of it.

Kingdom Hearts, whole series. I can't really pick one game, because they're all both really, really good and really, really bad, XD. But I love the story and the characters, and I've enjoyed each of them in different ways. But if I had to pick just one, I'd probably pick 2.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Still the best Star Wars game ever made. Still one of the best western RPGs ever made. The plot twist is still one of my favorite moments in video game history.

Max Payne 2. Ugh, so good. Great storytelling, fun gameplay. Took everything great about Max Payne 1 and did it better. RIP James McCaffrey.

MegaMan Battle Network, whole series. Probably the best reimagining of a classic IP I've ever seen, from the old days when "reimagined" didn't mean "vandalized". I was several years older than him when the first game came out, but in a lot of ways I grew up with Lan and his friends, and these games will always have a special place in my heart.

Jade Empire. Another great BioWare western RPG. Great setting, good story, unique characters, and really good and unique-for-the-time combat.

Soul Nomad and the World Eaters. I don't even know why I like this game so much, but I do, lol. They should have given the male PC a romance ending with Gig, though >_<

Pokemon Red and Blue. Pure nostalgia entry, but even though there are a lot of boring Gen 1 haters, to be a 10 year old kid when the original US Pokemon craze was at its peak was something special, and the games and the Pokemon will always be cherished in this house. Gen 1 supremacy, noobs!

Batman Arkham Asylum. You have no idea what it was like growing up a Batman fan and a video game fan in the years before Arkham Asylum. Every Batman game was terrible. It was a running joke how no one could do a good Batman game. Hell, half the word of mouth for AA was "did you hear someone's trying to make a good Batman game?" That they got many of the incredible voices from Batman the Animated Series back was even better. RIP Kevin Conroy and Arleen Sorkin. (And fuck Mark Hamill)

Legacy of Kain, whole series. Aside from Metal Gear Solid, this series is the definitive master class on video game storytelling and voice acting. I love the plot, I love the characters, I love everything. I hate how the ball was dropped so hard after Defiance, because that game set up an amazing follow up that just...never happened. It was such a sad fall from grace, because in the early 2000s this was the AAA game series. Everyone loved it. Everyone was desperate for the next game. And then it just kind of fizzled out after a few missteps and developer woes. And it died a quiet death in a proto-live service multiplayer game that no one wanted and even fewer people played. And while the tragedy is appropriate to the Gothic setting, I'm still hoping against hope for a faithful remake of the first games that spurs the original developers to finally finish the series the way it always deserved.

Honorable Mention: Final Fantasy 8. Gonna be honest here, 70% of my love for this game comes from fanfiction, lol. I played the game when I was a kid, and didn't really like it. It was weird and looked bad (I played it long after I'd gotten used to the "modern" graphics of the PS2 generation) and even with a Codebreaker and cheats the final boss was super frustrating. But there's some really great FF8 fanfic out there. Stuff I reread every few years. And it's given me a phantom nostalgia for the game.
