Vanity Fair Lie Detector Interview w/ Jamie Campbell Bower and You
hello! I've had this idea for like almost a year now lol. this is very dialogue heavy, there's not much description, but I felt like it kind of had to be, since it's just back and forth questions? idk, it's not my best work, but the idea is sickeningly cute and I needed to get it out. anyway, hope you enjoy it! <3 warnings: none! just fluff, ST4 costar!reader, gender neutral reader (pls let me know if I missed any gendered terms!)
---
As part of your Stranger Things press tour following the release of Vol. 2, you and your co-star Jamie were appearing on the lie detector interview. Entering the set, it was dark, with just a single overhead light hanging above a metal table. You and Jamie sat in chairs in front of the table as you filmed the intro for the video.
"Which one of you would like to go first?" The producer asked off camera.
You both turned to look at each other, nervously smiling. You shuffled your feet against the floor.
"Uh...I guess I'll go." You shrugged. "I'll just rip the band aid off."
The camera cut and the polygraph examiner set up as you and Jamie took your places on either side of the metal table.
"I feel like I'm looking at 25 to life or something right now." You chuckled as the polygraph examiner finished hooking you up to the machine.
"Are you nervous?" Jamie smiled at you from across the table.
"I'm sweating!"
Jamie cleared his throat, adjusting his posture to sit up straight, smirking as he tried to look intimidating. Your lips scrunched into a thin line as your eyes widened, showing your anxious anticipation.
"Okay...first question: is today June 8th, 2022?" He read from the cards in his hands.
"Yes." You stated.
"Were you in season 4 of Stranger Things?"
"I was." You smiled.
"Did you always want to be an actor growing up?"
"Uh...y-yeah. I would say yes." You nodded. "One of the things I wanted to be, anyway."
"What else would you have wanted to be?"
"Uh, well I still do music, but I wanted to be a famous musician. For a hot second I wanted to be a museum curator." You smiled.
"Have you ever googled yourself to see what people think of your work?"
You laughed and then hung your head. "I have! I need the validation..."
"I'm British, and you're American. Do you think I do a good American accent?" He chuckled.
You paused, sucking in a breath jokingly before smiling. "No, I'm kidding. You do have a decently good one, actually. Yeah."
Jamie gave you a side eye and looked at the polygraph examiner, who sat still staring at the paper and moving dowels. He looked back at you and nodded judgingly.
"Do you remember your first celebrity crush?" Jamie smiled.
"Yes."
"Who was it?"
You let out a breath, a slight smile flashing across your lips. "Um, I think it was like, Orlando Bloom?" You laughed. "Man, him as a blonde elf, y'know?"
Jamie chuckled at your answer before glancing down to his cards and looking back up. He smirked. "Do you have a current celebrity crush?"
"Uh...yes." You pursed your lips, taken aback by the question slightly.
Jamie cocked an eyebrow, leaning closer over the table. "And who is your current celebrity crush?" He smirked.
Your eyes went wide and you felt your cheeks immediately blush. You glanced over to the polygraph examiner, laughing nervously. It was him. Ever since the day he walked into the table read, you were enamored with his beauty, inside and out. You were secretly so excited to be paired with him for these press events, despite not having much screen time with him. You hoped your feelings wouldn't be obvious, but now, being hooked up to a lie detector, you felt like you weren't able to hide it at all.
"Oh god...haha...uhh..." You looked back at Jamie, eyebrows high, biting your lips slightly. "Well...uh, all I'll say is... they're in the room currently..." You smiled shyly, averting your eyes.
You could feel the warmth of Jamie's smile that grew across his face. "I didn't know you felt that away about the polygraph man." He chuckled.
You looked up, seeing his cheeks lightly blushed. You giggled, looking over at the smiling polygraph examiner. "I'm glad I could finally let him know." You looked back to Jamie.
"Well...I'm sure he's absolutely flattered." He held your gaze for a moment before taking in a deep breath and looking back down at his cards. "Okay, last question... Would you say you're cooler than your character in Stranger Things?"
You laughed. "Oh god... Absolutely. They're much cooler than me, yes."
"Did you lie at any point during this interview that we didn't catch?" He asked, narrowing his eyes and leaning forward.
You grimaced, looking over to the polygraph examiner. "I don't think so, no. I didn't lie."
He gave a thumbs up and you jokingly exhaled a sigh of relief. The camera cut, and the crew came around you, setting up the next shot for Jamie to be in the hot seat. There wasn't much time for conversation as they worked around you, which you were slightly thankful for, given your admission. Though, you both did exchange a few soft glances and warm smiles, which made you feel less embarrassed. The two of you switched seats and the camera started rolling as the polygraph examiner hooked Jamie up to the machine.
"You're right, this is very surreal." Jamie laughed, looking at the equipment put on him.
"Are you nervous?"
"Maybe...I don't know yet." He smiled, settling into the seat with the wires now on him.
"You should be." You winked and brought the cards up in front of you. "Alright, is your name Jamie Campbell Bower?"
He nodded. "Yes."
"Were you born in London, England?"
"Yes."
"You played Vecna in the new season of Stranger Things, as well as a member of the Volturi in Twilight. Would you consider yourself a good villain?"
Jamie's face twisted into a thought. "Oh wow. I mean...I don't think me, personally, as a villain. I try not to be! But I suppose the villain is fun to play, definitely. I guess I play the villain well, yes."
"You've been in a number of cancelled projects. Do you think you make bad career choices?" You tried to hold back your laughter.
He laughed out loud. "Thanks for bringing it up, love. Uh...no. I think they were all projects I really believed in and felt a connection to. I chose them because I enjoyed them. So no, I don't think that."
"You have made music with bands The Darling Buds, Counterfeit, and as a solo act. Would you want to be a full-time musician if you weren't an actor?"
He thought for a moment. "I suppose, yes. But I really couldn't imagine one without the other. They're both so deeply part of me. So...yes and no?"
"Do you secretly hate the Duffer brothers for making you go through 8 hours of prosthetics to play Vecna instead of just making it CGI?"
Jamie laughed again. "No! I don't!" He looked over to the polygraph examiner.
"He's telling the truth." He said flatly.
"Phew...I still have a job, good." He jokingly wiped his brow. "No, I think the choice to have it be almost entirely practical effects really made all the difference for you know, my scene partners, as well as for my own ability to get into character."
"Did you take anything from set that no one gave you permission to take?"
"Uh....n-no...no, I don't think I took anything without permission... I hope not?"
You looked down to the cards in your hand, scanning the questions listed. But you had an idea.
Well, payback time for me. Who's your current celebrity crush, then?" You smirked, narrowing your eyes.
He rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair with a smile. "Oh god. Yeah, yeah...I guess fair is fair." He leaned forward. "Well, um...I'm looking it at them." He smiled shyly.
Your mouth hung open, lilting up at the ends in euphoric shock. You bit your lip, letting the full smile overtake your face, stinging your cheeks. "Oh...is that so?" You giggled.
"We can defer to the polygraph man." He gestured over as you both looked to the man sat in front of the machine.
He smiled, looking back over to you, nodding. "He's telling the truth."
"Oh...well, I guess that's-that's convenient isn't it?" You giggled, feeling your cheeks flush.
"Did we just become a couple in this interview?" Jamie laughed.
"I think we did." You shook your head in disbelief, joining him in his laughter.
"Wow, this was much more affective than Tinder, this is what everyone should be doing." He gestured to the lie detector equipment.
"And on camera, too." You gave finger guns to the camera, giving a wink. "Um...but okay. Wow... Well, final question: Did you lie at any point during this interview and we didn't catch it?"
Jamie shook his head. "No, I don't believe I told any lies."
The polygraph examiner nodded, backing up that Jamie had not told lies. You smiled, setting the cards down, laying your hands on the table. Jamie smiled and reached across, taking your hands in his. The camera cut and the crew swelled around, taking the lie detector equipment away and setting up for you two to film the outro to the video.
The crew set the chairs back to the front of the table and had you two sit their once again. The producer called to roll the camera and let you know to start.
"Well, this has been Lie Detector Interview, or Lie Detector Matchmaker I guess." Jamie chimed. You burst out laughing, nudging Jamie's shoulder. "I thought this would be terrifying, but it actually went quite well I'd say." He looked to you.
You nodded. "Better than I would have expected." You smiled up at him. "Thanks so much for having us, Vanity Fair! This has been lovely!"
You both held your hands up, intertwined with the other, before leaning against one another with smiles on both of your faces.
"This is video is going to break the internet." Jamie whispered, leaning into your ear, drawing a delighted laugh from you just as they cut the camera.

You Weren't There
Tumblr media
pairing: Jamie x fem!reader summary: Jamie messed up, big time. Once he realizes what he's done, can he make it up to you? requested: yes! warnings: tears (a lot of them), mentions of anxiety but not any attacks, Jamie being a sweetheart & knowing he needs to make it better, a brief make out + 1 hickey, mention of Harry Styles bc he always cheers me up but y'all can picture whatever song you want wc: 8,474
“Love, I promise, once filming gets done, I’ll be at the showing! You know I’d never miss your beautiful work, angel.” He sounded serious because, well, he was. You had been over the moon with excitement for the past 3 months ever since you found out that you’d won a local art contest. The winners had their works shown in the largest gallery in the area, and it was a true dream for you to have others see the hard work you put into your paintings. Sure, the gallery wasn’t as large as MoMA or the MET, but thousands of people went daily to view the incredible art that was already there. Painting was a passion you had, and you didn’t bother trying to hide it. Everyone you knew either found out from you, from Jamie, or from the numerous photos you always shared. And thanks to the constant support and encouragement, you always felt confident with what you created.
“Filming gets over at 8pm, and it’s a 45 minute drive here, please be careful, Jamie!” You speak fast into the direction of your phone that’s currently on speaker as you finish putting your shoes on. Your eyes glance to your watch and see the bold numbers say ‘6:30pm’, and your heart skips a beat. “The showing starts in 30 minutes, baby. Even if you aren’t gonna be there until around 9, I know people are going to want to see you as well!” The words are spoken with an obvious tone of anxiousness as you picked up your purse and headed towards the door, your uber just pulling up as you walked outside.
“Like I said, I wouldn’t miss it for the world. But the real art is you, and you need to get going! I’ll text you when I’m on my way, baby. I love you!” The words made you feel less anxious as you said your goodbyes to each other and got in the uber. Your heart was beating fast from both nervousness and excitement the closer you got to the gallery. You were still trying to process how you managed to win, despite so many other talented individuals being in the contest with you. Countless nights where Jamie had to nearly carry you away from your computer because you were refreshing your emails every 5 minutes to see if you’d been chosen as the winner. Suspense was never your friend, but the 2 weeks where you didn’t hear anything back from anyone? It was surprising that you hadn’t lost your mind at least once.
The uber finally reached the gallery and you took several deep breaths after getting out of the car. Your thoughts were scattered, ‘what if no one actually likes my work?’, ‘no one's gonna know who I am.’, ‘is this really happening?’. But the one that was in the front of your mind, ‘I can’t wait for Jamie to see this, he’s been so excited for me.’. Before you started walking, you glanced at your watch and saw the numbers read ‘6:28pm’. It took a moment to hype yourself up before you made your way up the small staircase and pulled the door open, familiar faces already coming into view. Within seconds of walking inside, your close friends made their way towards you, congratulating you on your work. It was obvious that you were nervous, if Jamie were with you, you would be attached to him at the hip. He knew that you sometimes got nervous with crowds, and he didn’t mind speaking for you if he knew you weren’t up to it.
You gradually made your way over to where your painting was, the golden frame around it making your heart skip a beat. A smile spread across your face as you noticed more people looking at it, a small crowd forming in front of you. Your eyes kept glancing at your phone, keeping an eye out for a text from Jamie. Every now and then you’d have people ask you questions about your work, which you gladly answered with more passion each time. Hearing others tell you how they interpret your work was also interesting, as there was obviously no right or wrong answer. The way that art makes everyone feel a different way, whether it be paintings, music, photography, or writing, it all makes everyone feel something, and you love it.
You didn’t realize how late it had gotten until you checked your watch and the numbers read ‘9:30pm’. In a moment of panic, you check your phone thinking you missed a text from Jamie, and you felt your heart drop when there was nothing there. Just as you were about to text him to see if he was okay, one of your friends walked over and pulled you into a short hug, making your sudden anxiety go down a little. Another 30 minutes had passed without a word from him, and you felt like you could cry. The showing was over, and he hadn’t showed up, or even facetimed. Luckily, one of your friends drove you home, but the silence was deafening as you finally pulled into your driveway. Exchanging goodbyes and goodnights, you made your way inside, locking the door and leaning on it as you felt tears roll down your cheeks.
Noise from inside your bedroom only made the small anger inside you grow as you slowly moved to the door. It was ajar, and you could see Jamie on the bed watching tv, not a care in the world as to where you were. You push the door open and his eyes meet yours for not even a second, making you step in front of the tv. He had the audacity to ask you to move, and you only scoffed, turning the tv off. The silence filled the room for what seemed like hours, and the single illuminated lamp that was next to him made his features more prominent, as much as you hated to admit in the moment. As much as you didn’t want him to say anything to you that might piss you off, you knew it was going to happen, and you wanted to see how deep of a hole he would dig himself.
“Love, why did you do that? The show was almost finished.” He sounded annoyed. As if you had interrupted something important to him. You could tell he didn’t know about the showing, and that he forgot to text you, but you couldn’t bring yourself to say anything. “Don’t just stand there, either move or turn the tv back on. Can’t just turn it off when you want attention, I gave you attention earlier.” His hand moved to the remote, but yours blocked the sensor so it wouldn’t work, resulting in an eye roll from him. “What’s the matter, broke a nail?” The question was complete sarcasm, and you hated it.
“What’s the matter?” You asked in a low voice, an angry voice. “Maybe the fact that I was at my art showing for 4 hours without you texting or calling once. Or the fact that you weren’t there to drive me home? I knew you had filming to do, but you promised you’d show up, and you didn’t. My friends were asking where you were, and I said you were busy, preoccupied. I had strangers keep me company because you weren’t there. So I'm mad, Jamie. Actually, that’s an understatement. I’m livid right now. I wanted my other half, my better half, my partner of 3 years to be by my side, and he wasn’t. Don’t you dare act like I’m the bad guy for turning off your show, when you didn’t show up for me like you promised. Or do you not remember our conversation from earlier? Because I do, and that only makes it hurt more.” Tears were streaming down your face as you spoke, and his eyes went more wide than you’d ever seen.
“Shit. Baby, I’m so, so, so sorry.” He jumped off the bed and ran to hug you, slightly picking you up off the floor as he held you close to him. “After filming the guys wanted to get drinks and-”
“Drinks?” You cut him off as you pushed him away from you, fire in your eyes. “You got drinks with the guys instead of being there for your own partner? How long were you out for?” Your brief interrogation caught him off guard, but by the look in his eyes, you didn’t want to know the answer. His mouth opened to speak but you put your hand up, immediately silencing him. “You went out and had a few too many drinks as I was trying to not get overwhelmed with the amount of people around me. You know how I am with crowds, Jamie, and you just didn’t bother showing up? Your buddies were more important than me? I can’t fucking believe this.” Your throat had that pain in it, the feeling when you’re about to start sobbing but feel the need to hold back until you’re alone.
“I promise I had every intention of going to your showing, my love. Time just sort of.. got away from me.” His hand cautiously reached up the side of your face, brushing a stray hair behind your ear. More than anything, you wanted to lean into his simple touch, to pull him into you and feel him mold against you like the two pieces of a puzzle you both were. But your anger was too strong, not even the warmth of his hand on your cheek was enough to settle the fire inside of you. You could tell he thought he was in the clear from how he was leaning closer to kiss you, and you let him believe he was allowed for a second before you placed a firm hand on his chest, effectively keeping him at arm's length.
“Time got away from you, huh?” You asked calmly, rubbing your thumb against the soft material of his shirt, before pressing your pointer finger to his chest. He nods his head with a smile so small you’d have to squint to see it. “Lost track of it for so long that you didn’t think to check the watch you still have on? Or any of the numerous clocks on the wall of the bar, or even have a friend tell you? I doubt that the guys were holding you hostage, keeping you away from me. In fact, you told me that they were happy for me and that they wanted photos from the showing. You think saying sorry is gonna fix this? That it’ll be forgiven after you kiss me longer than 5 seconds? No, Jamie, you messed up. I don’t know how you can fix this, but it’s your own mistake, you find a way.” He let out a groan as you had fully backed him into a wall, tears again streaming down your face.
This was the first time you had ever seen Jamie really speechless. Sure, there were a few times you kissed him that left him mesmerized, but you could tell he was genuinely upset at how badly he messed up. He let you walk away from him and into the bathroom, locking the door behind you. Nearly the second the lock clicked, you were sliding down the door as tears continued to roll down your now very flushed cheeks. You sloppily pried off your shoes, shoving them away as a throaty groan left you, a sudden burst of air flooding your lungs after not breathing for an unknown time. The choked sobs from the other side of the door made Jamie’s heart ache, especially since he knew he was the cause. He walked over to the door slowly, hoping that some way you might sense him and know how ashamed he felt.
There were no other thoughts in his mind other than how badly he wanted to wrap his arms around you. When you have your moments, the moments where you can’t stop yourself from crying, he’s always right next to you. Holding you contently, listening to you ramble about whatever has you upset, wiping your tears with his thumb, playing whatever show or movie you wanted to watch to try and keep your mind off whatever hell your day had been. After consoling you many times, he knew how long it sometimes took you to cool down, whether he was helping or not. Even if he was the cause, even if he couldn’t hold your shaking body while you sobbed, he’d kick himself if he didn’t wait for you to be okay.
After not hearing anything for about 5 minutes, he thought it would make your night a tad bit easier if you had food to eat. You almost always asked him for a snack after a particularly emotional time, and he was never one to say no. It was always something simple; some crackers, half of a sandwich, fruit slices, he knew that something too heavy made your stomach hurt more after the tears. Sadly for you, a snack was the last thing on your mind. Your audible sobs had turned into silent cries, still very much happening and making your heart hurt more with each second. Did you want to forgive and forget this whole situation? More than anything. But you couldn’t bring yourself to forgive him so easily with this, considering he knew how important this was for you.
Your eyes were puffy, nose bright red, and throat sore. Still, you knew your barely there hunger was more important than you sitting on the ground. With slight hesitation, you opened the door and nearly fell forward from sitting down, not that it would’ve made the situation much worse. It would take time for the dizziness and pressure on your head to fully go away, so you weren’t planning to move fast. No sounds were anywhere within range, and you almost wanted to start crying again. Jamie always stuck around to make sure you were okay, so why didn’t he this time? ‘Was he that annoyed with you?’ ‘Or did he go out to the bar again, wanting to get drunk over seeing you like this?’ The thoughts invaded your mind as you slowly made your way to your feet, leaning on your bed frame as you tried to steady yourself.
Gradually making your way out of your room, you can’t ignore how your heart skips a beat when you see Jamie sitting on the couch. He doesn’t see you at first, only looking up from his phone when he notices movement from the corner of his eye. His heart breaks more when he sees your face, the faded makeup around your eyes from you wiping away tears, your lips dry from having to breathe through your mouth due to your nose being stuffy. Emotions were out of the question as he stood up from the couch and stepped over to you, pulling you into him. That caused more tears to come from you, these being more out of defeat than sadness.  A weak yelp came from you as you felt yourself being picked up and carried into the kitchen. Jamie sat you on the counter before going to the fridge and taking out the fruit slices he’d cut up earlier. You kept your face down so he wouldn’t see how bad you looked, even though you knew he didn’t care. Regardless how bad you thought you looked, he always thought you were the most angelic looking human to ever exist. His finger gently hooked under your chin, tilting your face up to meet his eyes. There wasn’t an ounce of judgment or annoyance that you could see, and it made your heart flutter. He gave you a small smile before reaching to get a fruit slice, holding it out for you to take.
You didn’t realize how much you really needed something in your stomach until you tasted the sweetness of the fruit in your mouth. It wasn’t a big slice, just enough to make you want more. After having about 5 more slices, you nodded to Jamie, signaling you weren’t wanting anymore. He turned around to put the rest of it away, mumbling under his breath how proud he was of you for eating something despite maybe not wanting to. Not 5 seconds passed before he was back in front of you, rubbing a hand on your back to try and calm you more. There was barely any space between you both as he wrapped your legs around his waist and pulled you closer to him again. The faded scent of his cologne made you lean into him more, burying your face in his neck.
“Let’s get you out of these clothes, huh? It’s getting late, don’t want you sleeping in your fancy stuff.” He whispers, and you nod. You’d forgotten that you were still in your outfit, being preoccupied with your emotions for the past few hours. As Jamie picked you up again, you glanced at the clock on the stove and sighed to yourself when you saw the numbers flash ‘11:25’. Had you really spent that much time crying? Sure, you had a completely valid reason, but you hadn’t seen the time at all since you had been home. You’re sat on the bed and Jamie helps you change clothes, saying loving words to you the whole time.
Too tired to argue with him, you let him lay next to you and wrap his arms around you. You missed the feeling of him holding you, even if you were still mad at him. The more you cuddled with him, the more relaxed you were, and you knew this was what you needed after being a wreck earlier. Time seems to freeze as you focus on the sound of his heartbeat, curling up more into his side as your tired eyes shut. His lips gently kissing the top of your head and his hand softly rubbing your back were the last things you felt before falling asleep, along with a barely audible “I love you, my angel.”
-
The distant scent of vanilla slowly pulled you from your sleeping state, and you smiled to yourself when you still saw Jamie lying next to you. He was awake and on his computer, probably typing an email for work, but you didn’t care enough to ask. One of his hands was on the blanket that was covering you, just so you’d feel him close to you. You notice how dark your room is, the only lights being Jamie's laptop, a candle on his bedside table, and the hallway light that was visible under your bedroom door. Your hand came from under the blanket and grabbed his, squeezing it lightly to say you were awake. Instinctively, he brings your hand to his lips, pressing a tender kiss right above your knuckles. “Did you sleep well? Lit your favorite candle and turned the lights off, I know how sensitive you are to them after nights like the last one.” His voice was quiet as he turned his attention from his computer to you, not wanting to say the wrong thing but also not wanting to have too much noise right when you woke up. Your eyes meet his and the sapphire sparkles in the dim lighting, no doubt making you fall in love with him even more. A small grin comes on your face as you nod at his question, cuddling into his side more and resting your head on his chest again. “I really do want to apologize for last night, angel. You shouldn’t have gone through that, and I know it’s entirely my fault. My dumbass drank too much, not that it’s an excuse. Is there any possible way I can make this up to you?” He nearly stuttered over his words, and it made your heart ache.
“I’m not gonna lie and say it’s okay, because it isn’t. I was heartbroken when I didn’t see you, Jamie. Then to see you just lounging around and hear that you went out drinking instead? You knew about this for months, I watched you write it on the calendar, and you still made other plans. I don’t know how you’re gonna get back from this one, but I’m hoping you put in more effort than you did last night.” You roll out of bed, grabbing clothes before going inside the bathroom to change. Several deep breaths escape from you as you try to not think about how you were curled against the door just last night. Not needing to go anywhere, you put on the sweatpants and hoodie you grabbed, both smelling faintly of Jamie’s cologne. Your mind drifts off, thinking about how tightly he hugged you last night. His hugs made you feel so safe and protected. He made you feel whole, like you could do anything. When you first met him, you’d just recently come out of a somewhat long relationship. Sure, your now 3 years with Jamie wasn’t anything compared to your previous year and a half with your ex, but Jamie was the first partner you had that actually gave a shit. You knew this relationship would be different from the first week, after he surprised you with flowers just because he wanted to see you smile, or when he took the both of you on a much needed vacation and practically worshiped you the whole time. The first kiss you shared with him took your breath away, and you knew you were addicted to him. It felt like a drug, the way your love for him took over, and vice versa. Within 3 months of dating him, you couldn’t imagine being with anyone else. Pure magic is what it felt like on a daily basis, and your heart was full. Shuffling from your room pulls you from your thoughts as you open the bathroom door to see Jamie gone. A sigh leaves you while you walk into the kitchen and see a note on the countertop. “Making it up to you. I promise I’ll be back soon, don’t worry that pretty little head of yours. I love you, my angel. - Jamie”. Even the simple gesture of the note was enough to make your heartbeat a little quicker. There wasn’t a second that went by where Jamie didn’t love you and care about you. You both had your weak times like every other relationship on the planet, but there was never any bad blood between you both. He made sure you knew how much he loved you, whether it was with the actual words or gestures, he wanted you to feel appreciated and loved the second you woke up and the second you went to bed. Time went slowly the whole day, and very few messages from Jamie came your way. The occasional ‘Be back soon’, ‘Missing your beautiful face’, ‘I love you so much, darling’, all to which you responded with ‘please be careful, miss and love you’. It wasn’t a busy day, chores were done and you didn’t have anything urgent to respond to. While you didn’t want to spend the day wondering what he was doing, there was nothing else grabbing your attention. TV was crap and you didn’t feel like going out, not that you would on a weekday. Every bar/outing area was probably full to capacity and you really weren’t in the mood to be squeezed like a sardine in between people that were too drunk or high (or both) to care about your well being. All you felt like doing was having a quiet time to yourself, and that’s exactly what you did.
You don’t remember dozing off, but suddenly you were being woken up by Jamie’s lips on your cheek and his hand on your side. His eyes meet yours as they open, that golden smile making your cheeks turn the slightest shade of red. The silence between you was comfortable as he helped you up from where you laid on the couch. He led you into the kitchen and lifted you onto the countertop, standing in front of you until there was no room left between the two of you. Once his hands found a home on your thighs, a passionate kiss was pressed to your lips. It was the kind of kiss that took your breath away, like how he kissed you for the first time. There was no hesitation as you deepened the kiss, combing your hands through his hair and tugging lightly, earning a groan from him.
The kiss never broke as he carried you from the kitchen to your bedroom, laying you down as he got on top of you. Your legs wrap around his waist to keep him where he is, and his focus changes from your lips to your neck. He finds your sweet spot within seconds and sucks a faint mark onto your skin. You let out a quiet gasp as he presses another kiss onto the sensitive skin of your neck before pulling away. There’s no time to mutter out a word before he gives one more deep kiss to your lips, making you want more. To your dismay, he moves from you completely, freeing himself from your legs and rolling over to your side. A quiet laugh escapes him when he sees your face form a pout, and he places a delicate kiss on the tip of your nose.
“That was a treat for both of us, I could tell you needed a little pick-me-up recently. It’s luckily still early in the day, so what do you say we spend some much needed time together? We can do whatever you want, and we’ll stay out until you want to come home.” He crossed his arms and you rolled your eyes. You weren’t badly annoyed, just upset at yourself for letting him affect you this much. To say you wanted him to kiss you again and make you feel like you were on cloud 9 was an understatement, but the reminder in the back of your head that he wasn’t there for you kept poking through. It was easy for you to forgive and forget when the time was right, he knew this from all the times your friends pissed you off as a joke. However, he also knew that the bigger the fuck up, the longer it took you to find the heart to forgive a person, and he was determined to wait for as long as he needed to.
“As lovely as that sounds, could it wait until tomorrow? I’d like to mentally prepare myself for whatever it is we do.” You don’t mean for the words to come out as quietly as they did, but you felt shy for some reason. The both of you were normally touchy feely with each other, hugs and kisses were a part of your daily language. Even though you were still rightfully pissed at him, you did want to spend a day with Jamie. Just the two of you enjoying each other's company, maybe having a few too many drinks, or just doing whatever Jamie had planned; if anything. Your last date night was so long ago, the only thing you remembered was how it ended, it made you blush every time you thought about it.
“Of course my love, there’s not much to prepare for, but take all the time you need.” His words eased some anxieties you had as you looked over at him and met his eyes, making you blush and bite your lip from feeling bashful. He traces a finger across your cheek before tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear and gently rubbing your cheek with his thumb. You automatically lean into his touch and it makes both of you let out sighs of contentment. The moments where you could just be with each other, holding each other, whether you were talking or not, those were your favorite moments. Trying to find the space inside your heart to forgive him would eventually happen, but it wouldn’t happen so soon. Turning onto your side so your back was facing him, he knew he wasn’t in the clear, he only hoped that what he had planned would fix some of what he caused.
The rest of the day went as well as it could’ve gone, eating dinner with each other, the love never fading from the space. Jamie was being more flirty than normal, not that it was an issue. He tried following you into the bathroom for your shower, you only chuckled and kissed his cheek before closing the door in front of him. Certain phrases that he knew made you flustered were whispered in your ear when you were getting water, his arms wrapping around you from behind as you blushed from his words. Before you both fell asleep, Jamie pulled you closer to him and held you in place with his tattooed arm. You felt safe, protected from the outside world, you felt at home.
-
Your eyes fluttered open to a somewhat dark room, the sunlight peeking through the blinds and birds faintly chirping in the distance. Jamie’s arm was still draped over you, less tight than when you fell asleep, but still firmly keeping you in place. You lightly run your fingers across some of his tattoos, just admiring the beauty of the art on the human you were lucky enough to call yours. Gradually, your feather light touches pulled Jamie from his sleep, his own hand gently grabbing yours as he fully woke up. He ran his thumb over your knuckles, craning his head up just to the point where he’s able to press kisses from your wrist to your fingertips.
“You ready to start the day, love? Can’t wait to see that beautiful face out and about. Check the closet, one of your friends sent their help picking your outfit when you were napping yesterday.” He presses a long kiss to your cheek before rolling out of bed, his morning voice echoing in your ears. Curiosity takes over as you kick the covers off and walk over to the doors, you didn’t know which friend came over, but they all definitely knew what your style was. The glance you gave to the mirror lasted longer than you thought it would after you changed clothes. Your hands gently went over the fabric and smoothed some of the wrinkles down to add the cherry on top.
“Are you gonna be my date for the day? You know how much I love my arm candy.” His arms wrap around your waist from behind and you see his face appear beside yours, and you couldn’t even try to hide the smile on your face. A sweet kiss is pressed to the side of your neck as he squeezes you a little tighter. The warmth from his hands could be felt through your clothes as he gently rubbed circles on your sides, his small smile lighting up the room like it always did. Your hands rested on top of his as you fully leaned into him, his cologne invading your senses, almost making your brain fuzzy. Again, the silence between the two of you was comfortable, you could stay in this same position all day and you wouldn’t be upset, but you knew Jamie had plans for the both of you.
“Always love being your date, my angel. I’ll never get tired of it. But we have things to do today, let’s get going.” He spoke playfully in your ear as he lightly smacked your ass after the last sentence. It wasn’t in a sexual way, more like in a ‘we gotta go, i’ll follow you out’ way. The car ride to the downtown area was mostly quiet, the radio was turned down almost all the way, but the view outside the car was better than any music could’ve been. It was the time of year where the seasons were changing, and luckily the leaves hadn’t fallen off the trees yet. Different vibrant shades of orange, red, and yellow were everywhere, and the air was so crisp and just chilly enough to where you didn’t need a jacket on.
Jamie’s glances over to you were missed as you looked out the window, but he didn’t care. As long as you had that smile on your face, the one that made his heart skip a beat when he saw it, the one where he knew you were genuinely happy, he was fine with seeing your side profile, he loved all angles of you the same. One of his hands moved from the steering wheel to your thigh out of instinct, lightly squeezing as his thumb caressed your clothes skin. You put your hand on top of his again and gave him a smile when he quickly looked over at you, your heart full already from the simple gesture.
“Do I wanna ask why we’re driving down a dirt road?” You giggle lightly as you ask and you can see his face light up at the sound. He parks the car behind a rather large bush before turning to you, his eyes having a different look in them. Your eyebrow raises as he reaches to the backseat and reveals a silk blindfold. “Don’t tell me we’re about to do something, baby. I’m all for spicing things up, but we’re in a public place, in a car, and in the middle of nowhere. This is testing the limits even for you.” His chuckle is lighthearted as he puts the blindfold on your lap, looking at you with pure adoration.
“If I say where we are, it’ll ruin the surprise. Put this on and I’ll help you out darling, nothing to be nervous about.” He presses a sweet kiss to your cheek and smiles when he sees your cheeks flush to a light shade of pink. No matter how many times he kisses you, he’ll never get tired of seeing you get flustered from it. You take a deep breath before you tie the blindfold over your eyes, careful to not get your hair tangled in it. Once it was fully covering your eyes, you searched for Jamie's hands in front of you. The familiar smoothness of his palm welcomed your hands as he squeezed them briefly before getting out of the car and rushing to your side.
“If you brought me to some weird ass place, I don’t even know an example, but if it’s something weird-” You cut yourself off with a laugh as you nearly trip over what you think is a tree branch. Jamie catches you, his ringed hands holding you a little more firmly as he guides you to wherever the hell you’re going. The ground beneath you turned from hard to soft, and you pictured it turning from dirt to grass. A slight whistle of wind makes goosebumps form and Jamie lovingly rubs your arms while giving you a sweet kiss on your lips. He stops suddenly, holding you in place as your heartbeat quickens with anticipation of what’s to come.
The blindfold is removed and your eyes take in the sight around you. Jamie brought you to a flower field, one that went as far as the eye could see. Sunflowers, daisies, peonies, and tulips were everywhere you looked in all directions. Even though the air was starting to get cooler, the flowers hadn’t started to wilt. It was like they were waiting for you to be there and appreciate the beauty that nature had to give before they went away for the winter. Apparently it looked like Jamie had been there earlier, the picnic setup on the ground in front of you looking like a dream you might’ve had at one point. You turn to him and he has his golden smile again, the one that makes you forget your troubles.
“I didn’t bring you to a weird ass place, I brought you to a cute ass place. You’ve always wanted a flower field picnic, so I figured why not have one now?” You both sat down on the blanket, the flowers consuming the both of you in the best way. All you saw were bright colors and Jamie, and that’s really all you cared for at the moment. The picnic was sweet, cheesy moments of you feeding each other strawberries, and loving moments where Jamie talked about the future he saw with you. Birds chirping in the trees caught your attention for a split second, leading to Jamie gently turning your attention back to him with a passionate kiss. It catches you off guard the slightest bit, but you don’t care.
“I didn’t know how badly I needed this. Just an us day. I love how thoughtful your mind is, baby. Really means a lot to me.” You put your palm on his cheek and he leans into your touch. He pulls something from his pocket and holds it in his hand. Your hand moves to grab your cup, taking a sip of the juice Jamie poured for you. A flash of light from the corner of your eye makes you look back to Jamie, and you see he’s holding the necklace you found at the jewelry store the other week. Something about the design made your heart happy, and it wasn’t just the gems. Each of them had their own unique sparkle in the sunlight, the colors being as vibrant as the flowers you were surrounded by.
“For the record, you look more gorgeous than this necklace ever will. But I knew it would make you smile, and that makes you look even more gorgeous.” Your heart swells at his words while you turn your body so he can put the necklace on you. It sits perfectly on your collarbone, and you swear that you can’t feel happier than that moment. “We’d better go if we want to have time for everything else.” He says after looking at the time. By looking around you, you could tell it wasn’t late in the day, which meant he had more planned. You were nervous, but more excited than anything else.
You make your way back to his car and put everything away before hopping back in, wondering where Jamie would be taking you next. It was another quiet ride, occasionally making eye contact which made you smile, and made him squeeze your hand gently. The dirt road turned back to gravel, and you saw the familiar shops that you’d pretty much grown up with. A few more turns came, and then the name of your favorite café came into view and you turned to look at Jamie again, your hand holding his a little tighter.
“How cliché, the place we had our first date. I love it.” You said it teasingly, but the love in your voice was unmistakable. He parked and got out, almost running to open your door so you didn’t have to, the natural gentleman in him jumping out. His hand took yours again, intertwining your fingers as you walked over to the door. The familiar scent of freshly baked sweets, amongst other things, filling the space around you. Jamie walked in behind you and got the attention of one of the employees who quickly made their way over to you. “We have your reserved spot right outside!” Your face turns to look at Jamie and you mouth ‘You reserved a spot?’ His hand on your back gently guiding you to the table was your answer, and the view made you stop in your tracks.
You were a local to the area, grown up not too far away from the main tourist attraction. Still, every time you came over, especially during the fall/winter times, you were mesmerized. The area looked like it could be right out of a tv show, all the café’s, arcades, even mini golf courses. All leading to a boardwalk that went out quite a bit over the crystal clear waters. During the summer it was always hot and even though it wasn’t a beach, the sea was still very populated during those months. Luckily you lived in a place that had actual cold seasons, not that 75℉/23℃ in December B.S., so it was like a winter wonderland in the cold. The sea hadn’t frozen over yet since the temperature hadn’t dropped that much, but the 65℉/18℃ was comfortable. Sounds of children laughing with their families flooded your ears while views of the sun just starting to set captivated your eyes. It almost looked like a rainbow in the sky, various purples, light blues, pinks, and gold colors painted across the cloudless canvas.
Jamie snapped you out of your thoughts, pulling out your chair and pressing a kiss to your forehead. You sat down to look at the menu while Jamie went back inside. The slight breeze made you shiver, but you weren’t fully cold, it was nothing a hot chocolate couldn’t help. If the whole location wasn’t ‘movie-esque’ enough, a butterfly landed on the menu right in front of you. Its wings almost glimmering with the different colors above shining down on it. As quickly as it appeared, it flew away, right as Jamie came back with his hands full. 2 hot chocolates, cookies, mini doughnuts, and 2 slices of pumpkin pie were on the tray he held.
“You weren’t looking at the menu, were you? My love, you know I already have your order memorized! We come here every year around this time, just wanted to spoil you a bit more tonight.” He kissed the top of your head before sitting down. Your hand came up to gently run over your necklace, feeling the detail of how everything fit together. Jamie held your other hand as he took a sip of his hot chocolate, the steam making his glasses slightly fog up. He didn’t want to overwhelm you with the food choices, he knew that if there was too much in front of you, you’d only pick at it and not have any. That was just one of the many reasons why you loved him, he always kept your feelings in mind, no matter what he did. Always making sure you were comfortable, and he always tried his best to make up for when he made mistakes.
“You’d think I know that by now, I mostly just check to see if anything new is added. It means a lot that you know what I get, I love that you pay attention to the small stuff.” You smile as you sip your hot chocolate before having a mini doughnut. It was as if time just stopped at that moment. Not only was the love of your life sitting across from you and looking at you like the goddess you were, but the sky continued to take your breath away. Nothing could’ve made this moment better, and you were happy that you got to spend it with the man who made your heart feel complete. “I really can’t believe you did this, Jamie. It’s all so stunning.” Your hands motion to the food in front of you and to the view around you. There were really no words to describe it other than beautiful.
“Says the one who looks like that, you’re the stunning one, baby.” He looks you up and down while giving you that look, and you can’t help the redness that appears on your cheeks. You both continue to eat away at what he brought out, taking your time with the pie since it was your favorite. Eventually you finished everything, including the hot chocolate, and then made your way onto the boardwalk, your finger intertwined with Jamie’s. “We still have one more place to go, and I think you’ll appreciate this one. Even though the light is hitting you just right, we have to get going again.” His hand traced the side of your face as he spoke, and the way he looked at you made your heart flutter.
“You’ve outdone yourself, Jamie. I don’t know what else there could be to do!” You pull him in for a hug just as a strong gust of wind hits you. He holds you close to him in such a secure way, it felt like nothing could tear you two apart. Your face buried in his neck and his hands rubbing your back, the now prominent scent of his cologne, it was all overwhelming your senses in the best way. The look in his eye when he pulled away didn’t leave any room for guessing, you knew what thought he was having and you nodded your head. There was no hesitation as he pressed his lips to yours, and you only deepened the kiss as he pulled you closer to him. Sadly, it was over sooner than you wanted it to be, his hands finding a home on your hips.
“My love, we still have to go somewhere else. Come on, it’ll be the finishing touch for tonight.” Laughter follows his words as he sees your faux pouting face. His hand grabs yours again while you walk back to his car for the 2nd time that night. You didn’t ask where he was taking you, but you trusted him with your life and knew that he wouldn’t make you uncomfortable. The radio was slightly turned up for the first time that night and you saw that Jamie connected his aux. He started typing in a song and you were curious, your eyes softening as you heard the opening piano playing. “Is it a sad song? Technically yes. But I know Harry makes you happy, so I’m happy to play it for you.” A quick kiss landed on your cheek before he started driving, humming along to the song playing.
You kept looking at the areas out the window, trying to figure out where Jamie was taking you. It wasn’t until you saw the steps that you put the pieces together. Your eyes landed on Jamie as he parked the car, you could tell he was trying not to make eye contact because he didn’t want you to be upset. A quiet sigh escaped from you, and it made Jamie nearly flinch when he couldn’t figure out the meaning of it. When your hand reached over to gently turn his face in your direction, you couldn’t decipher the emotion his eyes showed. There was a mix of worry, dread, sympathy, panic, and love, and you could almost cry from seeing how nervous he was.
“I’m not mad, baby. Not at all. I guess confused is a better term? Just didn’t think you’d want to be here.” You muttered the words more quietly than you intended, but he heard them loud and clear. He didn’t say anything back, instead getting out of the car and walking to your side as you unbuckled your seatbelt just as he made it over to you. Like earlier, he helped you out and intertwined your fingers as you made your way to the gallery entrance. Jamie pulled the key from his pocket and ignored your confused face for a second, unlocking the door and letting you in before him.
“I pulled a few strings, I had to see my beautiful girl's outstanding work.” Your heart beamed at his words for the hundredth time that night, walking behind him as he slowly approached the gold frame that still hung on the wall. “It’s absolutely magnificent, darling. There isn’t anything you can’t do.” He put an arm around your waist as you made your way over to him. You sadly couldn’t give him a more genuine smile as you remembered how you felt that night when he didn’t show up for you. The tears that spilled from you didn’t catch his attention, but the whimper that you tried to hold back did. The opportunity to turn your face away from him wasn’t an option as he turned you to fully face him.
“To say that I’m sorry is an understatement. There’s no excuse for how much of a dumbass i was. I knew this was happening, I made the plan to be here, and then it didn’t happen. I got too drunk and got a ride home, sobered up and just did my thing. Knowing that you were having a hard time, that you could’ve been having anxiety because I wasn’t there makes my heart break more every time I think about it. There will never be words to tell you how sorry I am, and I know that. Tonight wasn’t about you forgiving me, it was about me showing you how awful I felt, and still feel, about missing something that was so important and special to you. You always have been, and always will be the most important person in my life, and hearing you break down that night was one of the worst things I’ve ever heard, especially knowing I was the cause. You didn’t deserve that to happen, you only deserve the best, and I’m always going to be sorry that I caused you so much pain. The love of my life should never feel this way, my angel.”
More tears came from you at his words, and you could see them forming in his eyes as well. His thumbs wiped away your tears gently, while one fell down his cheek. You don’t know how long you just stood in the silence, but when he pulled you in for another hug, you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. It was like all the stress and worry and anxiety from inside just came out at once. He didn’t stop comforting you, holding you while you shook like a leaf from crying so much. Your arms gripped him tighter, not wanting him to leave, even though you knew he wouldn’t.
A shallow wave of relief came over him, he knew he was your safe place, and you were his. Though he couldn’t tell clearly if the tears were from how happy you were today, or if they were from you remembering how shitty you felt from the other night, he could tell the sigh you let out was from relief. Him letting you go wasn't a thought in his head at all when you hugged him even tighter, he just wanted to hold you until you felt better, until you felt whole again. If it took forever, he’d be there, after all, you were the love of his life, and he wanted to make sure you knew it.

Jealousy|| Jamie Campbell bower x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Summary: Jamie and reader are a couple of 11 years and 9 years married, still Jamie always finds himself jealous whenever you talk to other men
Warnings: smut, mature language, arguing, half of this probably makes no sense(smut part) cause I just started writing and did not think about how it sounds so
Extra: use of y/n, this is my first smut so I have no fucking idea how to write this shit
———————
You were standing at the bar, drinking, waiting for Jamie, coming from his concert.
Today was his 27ty birthday and also first counterfeit concert, you couldn’t be more proud of him that he finally got what he always wanted.
You would be in the next performing because it was too full in there and you wouldn’t see anything so you decided to just go in the second round.
———
Throughout the concert a men beside you started a conversation with you, clearly flirting with you which you didn’t noticed though, you were too focused on your Boyfriend on stage.
“Hey y/n!”he said a little louder which then caught your attention.
“Huh what?”you looked at him confused, not knowing what he said the past 10 minutes.
“I said if you wanted a drink?”
“No, I’m good”you both were standing at the font in the first line so that Jamie could see you two, jealousy building up in him, seeing too that he was definitely flirting with you but tried to focus on the concert.
“Come on, one drink? Please” the show was almost at the end so you thought one drink couldn’t hurt.
You walked out with the man as Jamie saw you both out the door imagining the worst that could happen.
———
“He said that? No way” you two were having you, you think 4th drink as he told you about his best friend giving him a dare to ask his mom out.
“Yeah, she wouldn’t speak to me for the next few days until we told her it was a dare”
“ I can’t believe you” you laughed.
“Yeah an-“ you didn’t even realise the show was at the end and the most people were already gone as a not-so-happy Jamie comes through the door
“Pack your things. We’re leaving” he said as he grabbed your arm softly and your bag.
“Calm down man, don’t you see she’s busy?”
“Yeah well I don’t really like when someone is flirting with my wife, so back off” he said at the man’s face which now looked terrified.
“Let’s go y/n”You mouthed a drunk “Bye” before walking next to Jamie.
———
“Now what the fuck was that” he said as you both sat in the car.
“I don’t what you’re talking about” you almost drunk self said as you crossed you arms.
“He was flirting with your for HOURS and you just kept going talking with him”
“No he wasn’t” you said as Jamie just began to ignore you.
———
When you were at home it wasn’t different, he just walked in and upstairs to your bedroom.
“You’re Just Gonna ignore me or what?” You yelled after him.
“Idiot..” You walked into the kitchen and made yourself a glass of water before sitting on the couch deciding to watch a movie before you would go to bed too.
———
After almost 2 hours the movie was over you stood up and walked into the kitchen to wash your glass as you felt Jamie’s hand wrapped around your waist from behind.
“Love, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have yelled at you” he whispered between kisses he placed on your neck.
“It’s ok, I should’ve noticed that he was flirting with me”you said as you gasped when you felt him sucking on your soft skin.
“Jamie..” you moaned as he sucked on your soft spot when you leaned against his front.
“Fuck..”you turned around and smashed your lips against his, with your hands in his hair and his on your waist pulling your impossibly closer.
You grabbed his shoulders and sat him down on the sofa as you sat down on his lap not breaking the kiss.
As your hands went up to his hair,Jamie broke the kiss and took off his and your shirt and flipped you over so he was on top.
You both stared at each other as Jamie broke the silence after a while.
“Why did you even talked to him?hm?”
“I don’t know, I was bored?”
“From my show?”eyes filled with lust as he didn’t have you time to answer him as you felt his lips crashing against yours and his hands wandering down to your jeans, pulling them down your legs as you pulled him closer when you Were only laying in your underwear beneath Jamie who was still half clothed.
“Fuck me Jamie..”you moaned as his lips wandered down to your neck, sucking on your skin.
“Oh believe me,I will” he mumbled against your neck.
It was now your hand which went to his belt, you sat up a little and unbuckle his belt as Jamie helped you pulling down his pans, followed with his boxers as he pushed you flat on the sofa again.
Jamie didn’t wast any time, before thrusting into you, making you scream out his name.
He didn't give you time to adjust him, as he began to move out of you and thrust fully into you again.
His lips found its way to your neck again as he moved his hips against you, pounding into you hard and fast, leaving you a moaning mess under him.
“You like it when I fuck like this huh?”he whispers.as you tried to answer, all that came from your mouth was a moan as you felt him every spot inside of you.
You wrap your legs around his waist, pulling him closer as you connected his and yours lips, moving them in rhythm, moaning against his lips every time when he snaps his hips against yours.
He knew you were close by the way you were clenching around him.
“Are you close love?”jamie whispered as his lips trailed down to your collarbone, placing kisses as you couldn’t say a word and just nod.
“Me too, let go for me,love” he didn’t had to tell you twice as you came around his cock, soon followed with him cuming inside you leaning his forehead against yours.
“You okay?”he said. “Yeah, you?”
“I’m sorry that I got mad at you and yelled at you, I should’ve listened to you” he said as laid beside you, taking you in his arms.
“It’s okay, but we should go to bed”You said tired.
“Yeah,you’re right”

Take Me Back To The Night We Met -Jamie Campbell Bower (One-Shot)
Summary: Y/n had been a part of Jamie's life for over a decade. She had been with him through thick and thin and was considered one of his closest friends. But suddenly, she wasn't the young girl he once remembered, and instead, he realizes that perhaps what he had been feeling for her wasn't so platonic anymore.
Prompt: "Take Me Back To The Night We Met"
Requested: By Anon
Tumblr media
He could still remember the night he met her. He was just a teenager back then. Out with his bandmates at the local fair. It was nighttime and the air was filled with the scent of funnal cakes, cotton candy, and burgers. Children ran and bumped into other people as their parents trailed behind; groups of people milling around stations filled with carnival games that were expensive and rigged to play and among it all there she stood at the cotton candy stand. She was so pretty as she stood beneath all the lights as they illuminated her face. The smile and laughter that spilled from her erupted the butterflies in his stomach as he watched her from afar as she walked away from the snack stand with her two friends she had been speaking with. Jamie thought she was cute and so did his bandmates but he didn't have the courage to go up to her; he wasn't used making the effort to go talk to a stranger when all he knew were girls throwing themselves at him once they realized who he was. But she was different. He swore his heart nearly stopped when the girl turned towards him and his group and waved excitedly. He'd thought she was looking at him so he'd waved back almost shyly but that feeling dimmed when he realized that she was not in fact looking at him but another friend who rushed past him and his friends to hug her. A wistful expression crossed his face as he watched them talking animately as they rushed away pointing at something in the distance.
Jamie never believed in love at first sight until he'd seen her and for the rest of that night he'd kicked himself for letting her go. That was until he went to ride a fair ride. His group had too many people so he was the odd man left out of pairs. As if the gods were listening to him he was placed in the only opening seat up front right next to the very pretty girl he'd been thinking about all night long. She was not a fan of rollercoasters; that much was a given as the ride began to start and a panicked squeak left her and her knuckles were white as marble around the handles of the harness. Jamie hadn't known what he had been thinking back then as he reached out his hand to her with a smile. His heart thumping a mile a minute as those pretty eyes had finally focused on him seconds before they plummeted over the edge of the rollercoaster. Her hand snatched onto his as a scream left her throat as they dropped and all he remembered was feeling the warmth and strength of her grip on his hand as they zoomed across the tracks.
He hated that rollercoaster but it had brought him Y/n into his life and well, perhaps he didn't hate the memory after all even when he'd gotten off that ride still clutching her hand that shook like a leaf within his grasp. That night was a good decade ago and they were still going strong. They never dated but he had watched his friend developed from a teen into something more beautiful and artistic than he could have ever dreamed. At first, he didn't look at her the way that one would look at a pretty girl; sure he as enormed by her. Devoted his attention to her whenever he could but when his music career and then his acting career began to take more and more of his life away his focused had shifted. But now, years later after all this time she was still a comforting addition in his life.
Perhaps it was the beer in his system making his brain shift but his thoughts recalled the memory of their first meeting. As he lounged against the overstuffed leather sofa in his studio basement he watched Y/n across the room as she stood leaning against the granite island with a solo cup in her hand as she spoke with one of his friends who worked with him. Her cheeks flushed with her enjoyment as she laughed at whatever his friend said and Jamie couldn't help but feel that pang of jealousy hit him square in the chest. He shouldn't feel that type of way. He was generally a laid back person but the longer he stared across the room at her the harder it got to keep his emotions in check. He wanted to storm over there and yank Y/n from his friend's presence and hoard her away in his bedroom. No no bad Jamie, that was just the alcohol talking. He blinked his blue eyes when he saw Y/n's figure walking over from across the room and the weight of the sofa bounced him as the girl plopped herself down unceremoniously into the overstuffed leather. Her eyes were twinkling with delight and amusement as they looked over at him and he couldn't help but think just how that sparkle made her seem to glow.
"What's the look for James?" she asked with a conspiritical look on her face as she leaned closer to nudge his shoulder with her own. "You look like you have been sucking on a lemon." her laughter was adorable as she cocked her head to study his face a bit.
"I'm all good darling, promise. Just relaxing." he shrugged and his answer made her squint at him and the smile to dim but not disappear.
"That's bullshit and we both know it." she lightly tapped his thigh; her face growing a little more serious as her brows furrowed. "Are you okay? Not feeling sick are you? Should I go find you a bucket before you vomit everywhere?" she asked as she reached over to place the back of her hand against his forehead.
That minimal touch sent a heat rushing through his veins and he as quick to grab her hand and pull it away but he did not let go of her. Instead, his long nimble fingers turned her palm facing him and he began tracing random patterns on the soft skin of her hand. Her gaze as concerned as she was not used to seeing him look so solomn and she wondered if the get together had finally burned out his social meter or something. She figured that must be it or just jetleg since he'd just come back from filming a day prior.
"Really Jamie you're starting to worry me, what's the matter?" Y/n questioned turning her body to face him.
Jamie noted how her body language screamed uncertainty and the way her gaze seemed keen to study his features. Her drink now forgotten on the coffee table in front of them in favor of her attention fully being placed on him. Sure, she was not the longest friend Jamie had ever had but their relationship was something special to him. He felt guilty that he'd neglected her for so long due to his filming but she acted as if his absence never happened. He loved that about her. Just how she could fall right back into the same pattern of familiarity while he was over here having a mental break down because he felt inadequate for her friendship. She seemed to know something was not right instinctually because she rose from the sofa and grabbed his hands to pull him from the leather.
"Come on, let's get some air, yeah?" she offered a familiar smile as she led a compliant Jamie by the hand past the few friends in his basement and out the back door towards his pool.
Kicking her shoes off she sat down on the edge and dipped her feet into the cold water. Looking up at him expectingly to do the same and the rockstar actor had no strength to fight her silent expectation so he took kicked off his shoes in favor of sitting on the edge of the pool with his friend.
"Alright, now that we aren't in that stuffy studio of yours," she bumped shoulders with him before reaching over to grab his beer bottle to steel a sip; oblivious to the way Jamie's blue eyes glued themselves to her mouth as her lips pressed around the rim of the brown glass. "What's gotten your pretty head all fogged up, hmm?" she finished holding out the bottle back to him while peering next to her at him with expecting eyes.
He did not speak for a minute and instead just looked down at their feet as they moved languidly in the water. The lights within the pool making the water an unearthly glow as it rippled and shifted at each disturbance of their limbs stirring the water with each gentle kick.
"Do you remember the night we met?" he suddenly asked
She took a moment to think before her soft laugh met his ears; a soft melody mingling with the sound of chirping crickets in the bushes around his home. She hummed leaning back against her palms and looked up at the blackened sky and the stars that dotted it.and a few stray clouds blocking out the view of the moon briefly.
"I do actually, you stole me away from my friends after I nearly broke your fingers on that damned ride!" she laughed again at the memory and cocked her head to the side to look at him from the corner of her eyes. "It was a summer night and the fair had been open late that night. I was there with Melody, Cara, and Alice but yet I ended up leaving with one more hitch hiker I wasn't expecting in my pocket." she teased nudging his shoulder
A soft smile tugged at his features. "Took me all night to have the courage to give you my number." his lips curled into something akin to fondness as his blue eyes turned to meet hers. "Worked out in the end aye?"
Y/n hummed in agreement and tipped her head back allowing her hair to fall behind her as she stared at the sky above. "It did work out in the end. Best decision I could ever make." she sighed quietly "Why the trip down memory lane Jamie?"
"Suppose I'm just feeling a bit nostalgic." Jamie shrugged but when he glanced at her Y/n's face twisted in a way that clearly stated she didn't believe him.
She sat up and leaned closer to him. "If you don't tell me what's on your mind pretty boy I'm going to shove your arse into this pool." she threatened half seriously and half playful as her gaze shifted to the rippling water as if emphasising her threat.
He snorted and took a sip of his beer. "You wouldn't." he replied and she fell silent a moment.
After a beat of neither of them saying anything Jamie thought perhaps the conversation had been dropped especially as Y/n rose to her feet and disappeared from view for a moment. Damn, had he been a jerk and brushed her off? Was she going back inside to flirt and chat up his friends again? Nope, he was so fucking wrong. Instead, his beer was plucked from his fingers and a hand landed on his back seconds before he was shoved headfirst into the water. When he resurfaced he shoved wet blonde hair from his face to see Y/n standing there with a hip cocked and a smirk placed on her face as she idly sipped at his stolen beverage. A twinkle of mischief in those bright eyes of hers. He couldn't find it in his heart to be pissed off that she'd just ruined his hundreds of dollar outfit with pool water; especially when he caught those eyes dragging down his form in appreciation before meeting his gaze as if nothing had happened. Had he caught her staring? He could see that question rolling in her mind as she shifted a bit uncomfortable at his unwavering eyecontact.
"That was uncalled for madam!" he finally spoke with a huff as he began walking across the pool towards her. He held out his hand with a frown. "I demand you help me out now."
Y/n knew that she shouldn't. No one could be that stupid to not expect revenge right? A part of her was thrilled at the idea so she set his beer down and bent to extend a hand to grasp his wrist. As expected, instead of allowing her help to pull him from the grips of the pool his strength yanked her strength into it's depths with a shriek of surprise. After she'd resurfaced she frantically brushed away her hair that tangled up in her mouth and face only to have her breath catch in her throat as she realized just how close Jamie was to her. So close she could count the waterdroplets on his thick lashes. His large palms gripped her waist beneath the water and pulled her up against him; her legs instinctively wrapping around his hips to keep herself afloat.
"Sorry, I forgot you weren't the strongest swimmer." his voice was soft due to the close proximity and Y/n couldn't find it in her heart to be snippy with him because firstly, it was the truth and secondly the way he was looking at her and the heat of his body against her cold skin was something else.
Her arms wrapped around his neck to keep her close to him and she could do nothing but stare up at him; fingers playing with the strands of wet blond hair plastered to his neck. She wanted to say something but she didn't know what but instead allowed herself to get lost in the depths of blue staring so intently at her. She'd never imagined Jamie would ever make a move on her after their initial meeting. At first, it was cute the way he seemed so flustered around her but as their friendship progressed she'd started to notice he didn't seem to act the same around her anymore; she'd chalked it up to him losing his initial interest in her so she hadn't said anything. Often wondering if she'd actually acted on his feelings a decade ago if they would be in the same position they were now.
"Y/n listen I-" Jamie began to speak but his voice was drowned out by the press of her soft lips against his.
She didn't care if she didn't allow herself to make a move on him back then; she'd seen a glimpse of something so familiar in those blue eyes that she once had seen when they were young and god did she pray that her move wasn't the wrong one. She felt the sting of hurt when his mouth stayed frozen in that half opened state of speech instead of kissing her back and she pulled away slowly to look up at him.
"I-I'm sorry Jamie I thought…" she let go of him and cleared her throat. "I shouldn't have done that I'm so sorry, just please forget it; blame it on the alcohol or something just-" his hand grasped her wrist before she could pull away too far and he gently dragged her through the water without much effort back into his chest.
His large hands found possession into her hair as he cradled her head in them and pressed his lips to hers in a firmer much more desperate clash of lips and tongue. His mouth devouring hers as if she was his last meal on earth. The desperation behind it made the woman's hands clutch at his shoulders as she struggled to meet his passion with her own.She didn't realize they were moving until her back hit painfully against the edge of the pool and a hiss of a breath left her making Jamie pull away from her mouth to look at her. It was only than as he stared at her did he realize that she was cold. Her skin erupting in gooseflesh and her clothes sticking to her body thanks to the pool they were currently in. Swallowing the need to press against her and take her mouth again the blonde withdrew a step away.
"Fuck." he licked his swollen lips and reached out a hand to guide her away from the wall and towards the pool stairs. "Let's get inside and get you into a hot shower before you catch a cold." he told her.
She didn't protest. Despite the coldness of the water making her skin prickle her insides were boiling with heat. Looking at Jamie she realized he felt the same as he helped her from the pool. This little escapade wasn't over with but it was not the time for it either as they began making their way inside; the laughter and chatter from their friends erupting even more in glee when they saw the pair walk in looking like two half drowned rats. They took it in jest as Jamie told them to bugger off.
"Oi, save some of that beer for me will yah! I gotta get the lady into dry clothes real quick!" he shouted pointing at one of his friends who cheered and held up a can of beer in affirmative before the blonde gave Y/n a sweet smile and closed the basement door behind them.
"And you pretty girl, head to the bathroom and get into a hot shower yeah? I'll go grab you clothes to change into." he offered guiding her up to his bedroom.
Not like she didn't already know but having his warm hand on her back sent little tingle of pleasure down her spine. Once they were in his bathroom he turned to close the door for her but she stopped him with a hand on his arm. "J-Jamie about what happened…" she trailed off
The man turned to her with a blank look making fear spiral inside of her. But it was vanquished as he leaned over and pressed a tender kiss to her forehead. "Shower, we can talk later baby." he promised with a grin seeing the flush of pink of her cheeks at the nickname.
He left her then in the familiarity of his large master bathroom. She smiled to herself looking over at the mirror at her reflection. she remembered all the times she'd come over to do his hair or make-up for his next interview or show. The place held memories but as she looked closer she realized there was nothing to be afraid of anymore. Because among the things that were Jamie's sitting on the countertops. She could see items of her own scattered among them. She knew then that she wasn't going to be going anywhere because she had already moved in, and not just the heart of his home but the heart that beat within his chest, and that was simply the most comforting thought she could have.

a fluff with jamie + cats
Tumblr media
You stared down at the furry creature sprawled across your lap in awe. You had always wanted a cat and it seemed Jamie had been ready to deliver for this year’s anniversary. Your hand slowly lifted to stroke the cat’s black fluffy head, scratching lightly behind his ears.
“So…” Jamie prompted nervously, “Do you like him?”
“What do you think?” You looked up at him with a bright smile on your face. “Thank you, Jamie. I love you so, so much. More than words could ever describe.”
“You’re welcome Y/n. And I love you too.” He wears a happy smile mirroring yours, and scoots himself toward you. “ But we have to establish some rules now that I’m sure you want to keep him,” he says seriously.
You look at him in confusion. “Rules?”
“Well, rule, technically. There’s only one.”
“And what might that be?”
“You can’t love the cat more than you love me,” he states.
“Oh, babe,” you threw your head back in laughter. “The love I hold for this guy could never compare to the love I hold for you.”
“Really?” he leans down to kiss you but you dodge him, ducking out of the way with the cat in your arms.
“Nope! The cat’s better, end of discussion.”
“You don’t even know the cat’s name!” he protests.
“Of course I do,” you respond.
“Oh yeah? What is it?”
“Soy… bean?” you trail off, having said the first thing that came to mind.
“Really? I get you a cat and you name him soy bean?”
“Maybe…” you say, scurrying off with your newly named cat.
“Y/n! Get back here!”

“Darling, I’m home!” Jamie had yelled once he walked into the calm, quiet house you two shared. He had just come back with groceries for the dinner you two were cooking tonight.
“Y/N?” He walked around the house, searching for you. Only to be wound up back in the garden where you have been spending most of your days. He smiled to himself and walked over to you, crouching down next to you.
“Oh! Hello!” You giggled when he had brushed some soil off of your face.
“Let me help you,” he had said, sounding more like a statement than an offer.
You huffed and crossed your arms, faking an attitude. “I’ve told you many times I don’t need help.”
“Yes well, it always ends with you giving in and letting me help. Plus, it could be our little bonding activity!” He sounded so enthusiastic to spend time with you, that you couldn’t say no. You handed him a shovel and some seeds to which he started digging.
“What are we making tonight?” Jamie asked as he shoveled some dirt and moved it out of the way.
“Soup. Not in a big mood to cook something fancy, plus you’ve been straining your voice a lot recently,” you looked at him with a smile. “We need to make sure your voice is tip top!” You joked while waving one of your gloved fingers in the air.
He laughed at the joke, music to your ears. You smiled and you both continued gardening in a comfortable silence, cracking jokes and talking from time to time. Though when you gardened, you were always intensely focused.
You two had finished ten minutes later (you had done a lot of the work while he was gone), and walked inside with a bunch of vegetables.
“You wash and cut them, I’ll get started on the actual soup.” You instructed him, Jamie nodding in response. He walked over to the sink and started washing the vegetables, then went to the chopping board to cut it.
This was your routine every Sunday. Garden together, cook together, eat and watch movies together. It was the perfect routine, and you two loved it.
“Vegetables are chopped, madame!” He brought them over to you in a bowl, you happily accepting it.
“Why thank you, kind sir. I will make sure to place these perfectly into the pot!” He bowed and walked away, grabbing some seasoning packets to put in the soup.
He poured the seasoning packets into the soup while you mixed it, you two making the perfect team.
“We’ll let it settle for a bit, for now let’s pick a movie because it takes us forever to actually agree on one.” You told him to which he nodded, handing the remote.
“It’s your turn to pick, love. I picked last week.”
You smiled cheekily as you picked Spirited Away (or any movie of your choice), it being one of your favorites.
After about 15 minutes, you had completely forgotten about the soup, quickly rushing towards it. You brung the ladle to your mouth, tasting it to make sure it’s perfect. You hummed as it tasted delicious, calling Jamie over.
“Dinner’s ready!” At those two words, Jamie came rushing over, eager to have your cooking. He loved it, and he devoured it everytime.
You poured the soup into two bowls and set it down on the table, still having a nice view of the movie playing in the background.
“It’s delicious, darling. Thank you,” he leaned across the table to peck your head, a giggle escaping your lips.
“I’m glad you like it, because for however long you’re doing your Vecna voice, this is going to be dinner for a while.”

could you write something where the reader is going through it mentally with stress and anxiety and ed related shit to the point where it’s like effecting her physical health and jamie is trying to help her through it sorry if it’s oddly specific i was recently in the ER for a CT scan and it ended up being a stress induced headache and just wish i had someone to just comfort me 😭
oh, my poor friend!!! I'm so sorry you've been going through all that as of late. :( I'm glad the ER visit ended up being nothing serious, but as someone also recently in the ER for a CT scan...still not fun either way. and I've also HELLA been there, having anxiety and an ED affect my physical health. I'm sending you all the love I have in my heart, I'm here for you if you want to talk to anyone, and I hope you find some comfort in this lil fic. <3
warnings: mention of needles, hospital visit, mental illness.
-
You heard the front door close from across the silent house. Jamie must be back from his meeting this morning with his manager. You weren't sure how long he'd been gone, having been half conscious trying to sleep through this throbbing headache you had for the last...however long it had been. It started last night after a long day of errands and you went to bed without dinner, something you knew was probably bad to do but a sad part of you took a sadistic pride in that. Jamie kissed you goodbye when he left this morning, and low and behold, he came to kiss you hello in the same spot he left you earlier.
"Hi, darling." He spoke softly as he came through the doorway. "How are you feeling?"
You groaned slightly as you stirred, pushing yourself upright with your hands, resting your back against the pillows. You sighed, rubbing an eye.
"I'm just tired..."
You weren't lying exactly. Tired was the only word you could think of to describe how you had been feeling. The past few weeks had been very busy and stressful with Jamie's schedule. You were a person of routine; you needed to eat at specific times, the food you ate was carefully curated, you had a set routine for morning and night. The uncertainty of the day's timeline had wreaked havoc on your mental state. Jamie knew you had struggled with some mental issues, but you never let on the extent of it around him as best as you could. This time, however, it really overwhelmed you.
Jamie frowned as he walked toward you and gently sat on the bed. "Love, you've been in bed for almost 24 hours and you're still tired?"
"Well, and my head still hurts. It's just all at the back of my head...it's just throbbing." You screwed your eyes shut, bringing your hands up to rest at the base of your neck.
"Really? Have you taken any tablets to help?" He reached up to feel your forehead for any temperature. "You don't feel feverish at least."
You nodded your head lightly and then shrugged. "Didn't help."
"Do you think maybe we should get you into the ER? Just to be sure you're okay, since the medicine isn't helping and it's lasted this long?" He reached out taking your hand gingerly.
"No...no, I don't want to bother them if it's nothing." You shuffled yourself deeper down into the bed, as if getting comfier would convince Jamie you were fine.
"Darling, their whole job is to be bothered by people even if it is nothing. They're there to make sure it's nothing. Please, I just want to make sure you're alright, love." He squeezed your hand that he was still holding.
You sighed, squeezing Jamie's hand back. You didn't want to go to the ER. You didn't want to be a burden, not to Jamie or anyone at the hospital. Hospitals always freaked you out, too. The worst news of someone's life could be given in a hospital, and it always made you uneasy to be in one.
"Okay...okay, we can go." You looked up to him, eyes downturned in defeat.
Jamie gave a small smile as he got up and came around to help you out of bed. You felt weak and cold as you left the cocoon of the comforter. Black spots filled your vision as you stood up for the first time in hours, causing you to grab Jamie's shoulder for support.
"Stooduptoofast." You said through a scrunched face.
Without a word, you felt Jamie's arms scoop around your back and behind your knees, lifting you bridal style up into his chest.
"I'll do all the work then." He smiled before planting a gentle kiss to your forehead.
-
You sat in the ER waiting room for a couple hours, since you didn't appear to be in dire need of attention. Jamie held your hand as you used his shoulder as a pillow. He stroked the back of your hand with his thumb, bringing you a much needed sense of ease.
Jamie wouldn't let go of your hand the entire time you were back in a room to be seen by the doctor. He held it as the doctor and nurses conducted tests and asked you questions. He squeezed it and rubbed your back with his other hand as the nurse inserted an IV port to give you fluids, as per the doctor's orders. You flinched and looked away as you felt the sting of the needle in your wrist.
"You're doing great, darling." He whispered as the nurse walked out.
"What if I have a tumor or something? What if I'm having an aneurism?" You couldn't help but start to feel the slight panic set in while lying in the hospital bed.
Jamie came and sat along side you on the small rickety bed. "Oh, no, no of course you don't have any of those horrible things! We're just here to make you feel better, and you will in no time." He brought a hand up to tuck your hair behind your ear.
You leaned your head against his hand. You were so grateful for Jamie, he always knew how to make you feel better. He smiled and cupped your cheek.
"Hello! Oh, so sorry to interrupt." The doctor said from the doorway as you both looked over to him. "I just wanted to pop in to let you know that your work ups look pretty good. A little low on potassium, blood sugar is also very low, which might be why you're feeling a little weak and tired. But otherwise nothing of major concern. Your head looks okay, CT scan is normal. I would probably say a combination of stress and you're a likely dehydrated, which the fluids should remedy. Once you're finished with that bag there, I think I would be comfortable discharging you." He smiled.
"Sounds great, thank you." You smiled at the doctor.
"Wonderful, thank you so much." Jamie also smiled to him.
"Thank god..." You chuckled.
"See, you're alright and on your way to feeling better. I love you, darling." He kissed your cheek.
"I love you too."
-
Once the bag of fluids had finished, the nurses removed the needle and supplied you with discharge papers. The doctor was right, with the fluids, your head did start to feel a lot better.
Jamie took you home and you headed straight back to bed without a word. He followed you into the bedroom, leaning against the doorway as you climbed under the covers again.
"Do you want me to get you anything? I can make you something to eat." He looked to you, watching you settle in.
"No, I'm okay. Thank you though." You paused in your settling, looking over to Jamie. You knew he was right and that you should have something, but you didn't want to eat.
He let out a quiet sigh, slowly coming toward you and climbing into bed with you. He took you in his arms, looking to you with eyes, pleading.
"Sweetheart...please, let me make you something to eat. It's been over 24 hours since you last had something. It will help, I promise." He kissed your temple.
You turned to him, about to protest, but the look in his eyes hit you directly in the gut. He looked at you as if you were a fragile heirloom he had discovered in the dusty attic. He just wanted to take care of you, he wanted to see you shine again.
"Okay...you're probably right, babe. Thank you for taking care of me." You smiled meekly up at him.
He pulled you into him even tighter, wrapping you in a hug. He held you for a moment before pulling you back and holding you at arm's length. He caressed your shoulder with his thumb.
"Listen...I know things are tough for you right now...I know. But I also know that you are so strong. And even when you're not, I'm here to hold your hand and help you see it through, alright?" He smiled.
The tears immediately filled your eyes. Almost as if the love you felt for this man before you was spilling out through your eyes. You found your hands coming up to either side of his cheeks, pulling him forward to meet at your lips.
You pulled away, sniffling your tears away. "I do know that. You're always there for me. Thank you."
"You can thank me by eating the pasta I'm about to make you." He brought his hand up to playfully boop your nose. "Then we're even."

soft things Peter/001 does to show that he loves the reader
How Peter Ballard Shows His Love
headcanons
Tumblr media
summary: the little things peter does to show his love for you
pairing: peter ballard x reader
warnings: none :)
note: i could look for gifs of jamie all day he’s literally breathtakingly beautiful please send more 001 requests i could talk about him for hours !!
Tumblr media
I feel like Peter wants to be so affectionate he just isn’t super sure how to go about it.
Your relationship is still a secret, so PDA isn’t really an option. He does, however, sneak into your room late at night during the guards’ shift changes.
He actually really loves to cuddle. At first, he was a little awkward because he didn’t have much experience but he eventually really warmed up to the idea.
He especially loves to hold you !! When he’s feeling a little overwhelmed or anxious, though, he’ll ask you to hold him, which is really nice because it means that he trusts you enough to be vulnerable.
The staff gets very little time outside, however he spends that time finding the prettiest flowers to pick for you. He’ll press them into a notebook and give it to you whenever he can.
He tends to show his love through acts of service. He’ll make sure that you have breakfast, he’ll organize your things for you, he’ll take your shift if you’re tired, etc. He likes to do little inconspicuous things like that for you.
He’ll also take the blame for anything you do wrong, which often subjugates him to hours of electric shock punishments, but he never regrets it. He’d rather take the blame for all your wrongdoings than let you get hurt.
He really likes to hold your hand. He’ll play with your fingers or rings, especially if he’s feeling anxious.
On some occasions, he takes the risk of falling asleep in your bed. He knows that he’ll have difficulty sneaking back to his room before morning, but he adores watching you sleep peacefully. He really enjoys quiet moments like that, it makes him feel more human.
He creates multiple plans to help you escape, even if he can’t come with you. You usually choose to stay, refusing to leave him behind, but the thought is incredibly appreciated.
He has a few books that he likes to reread to you whenever he can. Late at night, he’ll lay in your bed, one hand supporting his head and the other holding a book, while you lay quietly on his chest.
He always remembers your birthday !! Nobody really celebrates things like that in the lab but he’ll always make sure to have a small gift for you or extra time to spend with you on this day.
He lets you play with his hair !! It’s really a win-win because his hair is so soft that you could play with it for hours and he adores having his hair played with. It puts him to sleep so fast !!
Every now and then, when he’s feeling soft or is missing you, he’ll write you a little letter detailing how much you mean to him and he’ll slip it under your door.
He’s very caring !! He’ll always check up on you and make sure you’re doing okay.

A Christmas break🎄
Jamie Campbell Bower x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Credits to gif maker and the picture
Summary: Jamie comes home for a Christmas break. You spent Christmas eve together and with your family. You never liked Christmas but maybe Jamie will change that….
Warnings: pure fluff!
Words: 3,4K
A/N: I’m going to make a follow-up to this story but can be read separately. Since this is someone new I write for, I’m not tagging the people that wants to be tagged in stories with other celebrities. If you do want to be tagged in my Jamie stories than you can hit me up and I’ll add you : )
A Christmas break
Finally Jamie had a break between Christmas and New Year. You were esthetic to say the least because Jamie would finally come to you. You would take him home and to your family. It would be the first time that he would actually see your family in real life. I mean, they already met but through facetime and now they would actually meet.
You were never a big fan of Christmas and New Year’s eve but now you couldn’t be more excited now that you have Jamie by your side. Besides that, you couldn’t wait to spend some alone time with him and Jamie was just as excited as you were, hyping each other up.
You waited impatiently at the airport for Jamie. You were shuffling around a little while the excitement creeped up in your belly which doubled when you saw a familiar hat coming through the gates. You immediately smiled as you saw Jamie pushing his card out of the gates. He looked around but he found you quickly and when he saw you, his eyes started to sparkle and he got a big smile. He opened his arms and you ran to him, throwing your arms around his shoulders. He picked you up and twirled you around. “God how I’ve missed you, darling.” He told you and placed multiple kisses on your head until you looked up and closed the gap between the two of you in a quick but nevertheless, passionate kiss.
You parted and looked at him with a big smile, which he replicated. “I’ve missed you too!” you told him and wrapped your arms around his waist again. He placed his arm around you and hugged you close to his body. “Let’s go home.” You told him, looking up with sparks in your eyes. You couldn’t wait to show him around in the town that you grew up and do all the fun, traditional things with him. He smiled brighter and pulled you in for a kiss again. “Let’s do that, love.” He told you and took your chin between his fingers, giving you another kiss. He got the trolly and pushed it forward, you by his side.
You chatted a bit about his flight and his last convention until you reached your car. You put everything in the back and drove home. Jamie placed his hand on your thigh while you drove off. You felt the butterflies creep up on you again. You’ve never had a healthier relationship than this one and he never failed to make you feel special and loved.
The ride home didn’t take long and you helped Jamie, get everything out of the car. He took a lot of stuff with him, like a lot! He saw you looking and Jamie smirked. He put the luggage down for a minute and turned around towards you with a smirk. His fingers found your chin again and you were forced to look up. “You don’t think I forgot about the presents do you?” he asked you teasingly and giving you clarity about why he had so much with him. You could feel yourself melt underneath his touch and sweet gesture, making you feel shy and flustered again. He chuckled and let go of your cheek before he gave you a kiss on your forehead.
You helped getting everything inside and helped him unpack. You placed his clothes in your closet. Jamie placed his arms around you all of a sudden and pulled you against his body in a hug. “I have missed you so much sweetheart.” You smiled and nuzzled into his shoulder. “I’ve missed you too, you have no idea.” You murmured, enjoying the contact you had right now. He got out of the hug and cupped your cheeks so he could give you a passionate kiss. “I think we’re done here right?” he asked you as he broke from the kiss and looked at his empty suitcase. You nodded and smiled. “Let’s get something to drink and cuddle before we have to leave to my mom.” You suggested and Jamie smiled, pushing his glasses up on the bridge of his nose. “That sounds great, darling.” You loved how clingy Jamie could get because you would be the same.
You took his hand in yours and let him down the stairs. You made some tea while Jamie placed his arms around your waist and let his head rest on your shoulder. While you waited for the water to boil, you jumped on the counter, putting your arms around Jamie’s shoulders, hugging him. “I want to give you something. I didn’t bought it for Christmas so I want to give it to you now.” he told you with a smile. Jamie had brought a big box with him and you were wondering what was in it from the moment you saw it being placed in your car.
Jamie let go off you and walked to the big box and looking back at you as a hint for you to come to him. It was wrapped in Christmas paper and a big red bow. You chuckled and Jamie immediately smiled brightly when he heard your giggle. You looked at Jamie again and he nodded, encouraging you to open it. You smiled and unwrapped the box before opening it. There was a big, like really big teddy bear completely pushed into the box. You chuckled and got it out, realizing how big it actually was. You couldn’t stop giggling. Jamie knew how much you loved teddy bears or plushies in general and you both joked about the plushies that they were never big enough.
“Is this one big enough, darling?” he asked you, chuckling himself. You nodded and threw your arms around him. “Thank you so much!” he chuckled and kissed your head. “Go look what he is wearing.” Jamie whispered in your ear. You let go of Jamie and inspected the teddy. He was wearing a big Stranger Things sweater that you pointed out a couple of weeks ago. “Oh my god Jamie. I love it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!” he chuckled, seeing your eyes sparkle at the gift. “I’m glad you like it love.” He told you and kissed your lips.
You both struggled to get the sweater of the huge teddy bear, both laughing in the process. The bear was almost the same length as you were and you loved it. You finally got the sweater of the teddy and you immediately put it on. It was even some extra sizes bigger because Jamie knew you like your sweater a couple sizes bigger. The sweater smelled familiar and you looked at Jamie. “I put some of my cologne on it so it smells like me.” he told you and you could almost feel your heart burst. You just hugged him and he smiled softly, knowing you were happy with his gift.
You both drank some tea and cuddled on the couch until it was time to get dressed. Your mom said that tonight it would be casual so the smell of food wouldn’t get into your clothes. You put on your outfit that was inspired by Wednesday Addams. The turtle neck with the spencer in black and white. You were absolutely in love with your outfit. Jamie wore his hereditary shirt and lied down on your bed while you were doing your make-up. He held his head up by his hands, elbows on the bed while he stared lovingly at you, snapping a quick pic of you.
“I really love your outfit darling. It suits you.” he told you adoringly. You smiled and felt flustered. You were done and walked to Jamie, who pulled you down on your bed and attacked you with kisses, making you giggle. “Jamieeee….. We’re going to be late.” You whined but your chuckles gave you away. Jamie laid down on his back, his arm stretched out on the bed as he sight dramatically, making you chuckle. You hang above him, surprising him. You smiled and kissed him. “There is that better?” you asked him with a chuckle. “Much better, love.” He told you and got up from the bed with a smile. “Let’s go than.”
You packed your car with all the presents and drinks. You looked at all the presents and chuckled. “We both really went shopping didn’t we…” you chuckled as Jamie stood next to you, looking at the presents as well and chuckled. “I think we did….” Jamie laughed. He reached for your hand and held it. “But I wanted to spoil you.” you felt your cheeks heat up. “I did too.” Jamie smiled and kissed the back of your hand. “Shall we go than princess?” he smirked, knowing the effect it had on you with the pet names. You felt your cheeks heat up and nodded. “Let me drive this time sweetheart.” He told you. You agreed and sat in the passengers seat. Jamie’s hand was resting on your thigh again as he drove to your mom’s house and her boyfriends while you both sang your heart out when running up that hill came up the radio. Your heart was already filled with so much joy that you felt all fuzzy inside.
You arrived at your mom’s place and her boyfriend helped you both getting everything out of the car after Jamie introduced himself to him. You smiled softly at the interaction as you both walked in. You greeted both of the dogs happily before going to your mom, who was in the kitchen preparing food. “Hi mom” You greeted her and gave her a hug, which she returned. When you got out of the hug you looked at Jamie who smiled and reached out his hand so he could properly introduce himself but your mom already pulled him into a hug. “Come on now, we’ve spoke before!” your mom teased.
Jamie was nervous, you could tell but when your mom hugged him, he started to feel more relaxed and welcome. You all decided to get a drink before getting back to the food after you put all the presents around the tree and where there was still some place because it was a lot. You all chatted and laughed while drinking some alcoholic beverage. You held Jamie’s hand underneath the table as you thumb softly rubbed the back of his hand for comfort. His nerves hadn’t left completely so you wanted to make sure he knew that he was welcome here.
After a drink, Jamie chatted with your mom’s boyfriend as you helped your mom in the kitchen with the food. You looked over at Jamie and he looked back at you, giving you a soft wink to let you know that everything was okay. You smiled softly and your mom noticed. “You guys are a good fit. I really like him.” she told you and you felt flustered again. “Yeah, he’s really great.” You told her with a smile. “So.. You think he’s the one?” she asked you and you smiled. “I know he’s the one.” You told her as you looked at Jamie but you noticed that he heard you as he got one of the biggest smiles and you saw him blush, getting shy and flustered himself.
You felt flustered, knowing he heard you. You tried to focus back on the food until the son of your mom's boyfriend came out of hiding from his room. You greeted him and Jamie did too. When the food was ready, you all gathered around the table, you sitting next to Jamie obviously.
After dinner, you all chilled for a bit until dessert and after some more relaxing. The tv was on with a radio station where they play songs that are in the top. They would end it on New Year's Eve and it was very much a tradition in your country to listen to it. After dessert, you slowly started giving the presents to each other. It was mostly small things but you loved every one of the gifts. You made Jamie a t-shirt which you designed. You were a graphic designer and he loved your work so you made him something unique and he absolutely loved it. You got some perfume, things for in the bath, a blanket which you could put your arms through, a very big onesie from Jamie as a care bear. You chuckled and immediately gave Jamie his other present. You giggled, knowing what was already in it.
He eyed you with a smirk and opened the present, seeing it was a onesie from one of the care bears as well. You all laughed and Jamie pulled you against him kissing the side of your head. “I love you, darling.” He whispered. You felt fuzzy inside by the way he looked at you. “I love you too Jamie.” You unwrapped more presents (god you all went really out this year with the gifts.) You gave Jamie concert tickets for the two of you, you got a lot of chocolate and small stuff. You felt so content and happy right here in this moment, you couldn’t remember when you were this happy on Christmas eve or day.
After all the presents, you all had a drink before heading home. You hugged everyone, just like Jamie and packed everything in the car. Jamie wanted to drive again so you sat next to him. He held your hand and placed a kiss on the back of it. “I really enjoyed this.” you told him and he looked over at you. “I’m glad you did. I know how you can feel about Christmas and I wanted to give you the best one.” Your heart was melting at the sweet gesture. “You did. This is the best Christmas I’ve ever had and not because of the presents but because of you.” Jamie couldn’t stop smiling and kissed your hand again.
When you arrived home, you were both exhausted. You put the presents on the table for a minute, not having the energy to unpack it right now. You both headed upstairs to put your matching Christmas pajamas on, which Jamie gave you. You both stood in front of the long mirror. Jamie had his arm around you as he pulled you closer to his body. “Let’s make a Christmas photo.” Jamie suggested and you laughed, finding it a great idea. “By the Christmas tree?” you asked carefully, making Jamie smile adoringly at you, his eyes radiating nothing but love. “By the Christmas tree.” He repeated you, making you smile shyly.
You both walked downstairs and placed the phone down for the picture. You took multiple pictures until you both got into a laughing fit. When you were done, you both looked at the pictures that had been taken. “I love them!” you told him as you scrolled through the pictures. You chose the one where you both laughed hysterically and the one where  you looked into the camera and Jamie looking lovingly at you and the third where Jamie gives you a kiss on your cheek.
Jamie and you posted them on Instagram before you went to the kitchen to make some tea. Jamie walked up behind you. “Darling? I have one more present for you…” he told you and you turned around a bit surprised. “Oh Jamie, you didn’t have to….” Jamie smiled and shook his head. He gave you a perfectly wrapped box to you that he held behind his back. You looked up at him still a bit surprised. “Open it” he told you encouraging you again. You carefully unwrapped the present and you saw the box. Your mouth fell slightly open, not believing what he actually got you.
You got the paper completely away and held the box in your arms. It was a camera. Not just a camera but the one you were saving your money for. You were saving this for over a year and a half now and Jamie just gave it to you. you couldn’t believe it and felt tears prickle in your eyes. Jamie smiled lovingly at you, his eyes radiating nothing but love. “Now you’re not limited anymore. You can show the world your talents. I believe in you darling.” The tears slipped. ( you were a concert photographer and was stressing about the pictures because it was a basic camera, not really doing well in low light situations which caused you so much stress). You threw your arms around Jamie and cried. You never really cried about a present but this meant so much to you and Jamie knew that “Jamie….. I…. I don’t know what to say….. Thank you so much! I can’t thank you enough.”
Jamie chuckled and held your chin between his fingers again. “Darling… seeing you smile like this is already enough for me. You deserve it! You’re so talented but were limited by your other camera. Now you are limitless and I know you’ll be great. Big even!” he told you and placed a kiss on your lips before softly wiping away the tears on your cheeks. You chuckled emotionally and cupped his cheeks, pulling him back in a passionate kiss.
You both were exhausted and plopped on the couch with the tea. You put the grinch on while Jamie started reading the book you gave him, which was your favorite. You laid stretched out on the couch while Jamie let his head rest on your stomach as you went softly through his hair with your fingers. You forgot about the movie and stared at Jamie who got a grin, noticing you were staring. “You’re staring darling.” He told you with a smirk but his eyes never leaving the book. You felt flustered but didn’t stop looking. “I’ve never felt more complete than I do now.” you told him honestly.
Jamie looked at you and placed the book away, turning on his side with his head still resting on your stomach, looking at you with a loving smile. “I believe you’re the one as well, love.” He told you, making you smile. “I’ve never felt this for someone. My love grows with the minute and it’s never been this strong for you my love.” You felt shyly. Jamie cupped your jaw with his hand, his thumb softly rubbing your cheek. You both just stared at each other lovingly, enjoying the intimate moment the two of you shared.
“Let’s go to bed, princess.” He told you and helped you up from the couch. You both got ready and plopped in your bed. Jamie rested his head by your shoulder, his finger slowly tracing your arm and drawing invisible patterns. You turned around so you could face Jamie. Your fingers softly tracing the features on his face before you both lazily made out. “Merry Christmas darling.” He whispered softly. “Merry Christmas Jamie.” You smiled. You snuggled closer to Jamie before falling into a deep, peaceful sleep, happy that Jamie was by your side again.
~Next morning~
You slowly woke up, blinking your eyes a few times while you were still wrapped in Jamie’s arms. You lifted your head up a little bit and could see that it was snowing through the blinds. You smiled, feeling once again all fuzzy and content as the warmth hugged your heart. You looked at Jamie who was peacefully sleeping and quickly snapped a pic. You couldn’t let this perfect moment go uncaptured.
Once you did that, you felt Jamie pulling you back in your place, right in his arms as he murmured. “Let’s stay like this for a while, my love.” You smiled and snuggled closer into the warmth from his body. “I’d like that.” You whispered back as he kissed the top of your head.  Jamie pulled the covers more up as you closed your eyes again, enjoying this perfect morning on Christmas day.

A/N: This was honestly such a cute request and I hope you like it.

You had met Joe on the set of Stranger Things season 4. You both had naturally gravitated to each other the first day you met, you both just had this spark. All of your cast mates would tease you both about being together that you both eventually just decided to give it a go. Filming had officially wrapped in September, and you and Joe are still happily dating. He was definitely the sweetest guy you had ever met; you knew he was the one for you, maybe even your soulmate. You had decided to even move in with him once filming had finished. Normally you would have felt like it was too soon, but you didn’t feel rushed or pressured at all, it all felt right.
Tonight, you were both going to see Harry Styles in concert with some of your other castmates and their partners. You were really excited as you were a big fan of his. You had been going through your closet all day trying to decide what to wear. “Hey sweetheart.” Joe said as he walks into the room, finding you still pulling outfits out. “I have no idea what I’m going to wear tonight.” You exclaimed, getting slightly frustrating. Joe walks over and gives you a kiss on the head. “Sweetheart, you could wear nothing but a paper bag and still look amazing.” You roll your eyes playfully at him, trying not to show him you’re blushing. You wanted to look to amazing for pictures but you also didn’t want to go over board with your outfit, something casual and comfy but still classy and effortless. You settle on a cute yellow sundress that joe had bought you as a gift. You paired it with some simple white canvas shoes and some light jewellery, also a cute ring that joe had also bought you as a gift. He knew you weren’t really one for materialistic things but you appreciated the gifts he bought you, the sentimental value behind them.
You and Joe had decided to take some pictures before leaving for the concert. You were excited and Joe was excited because you were. Many photos later, Joe says with a laugh “Come on sweetheart, you don’t want to miss the concert.” Trying to pull you out the door. “Ok, ok. I’m coming.” You giggle. He locks up your cute shared apartment and walks with you down to the car outside. The car ride felt short as you both filled the car with singing at the top of your lungs, somewhat of a warm up for what’s to come. You begin to feel butterflies as you see the venue come into view. Joe smiles at you, he knows how long you’ve been waiting for this night. He grabs your hand and gives it a gentle squeeze, helping you ease your fangirl nerves. You smile at him and lean over to give him a kiss on the cheek. After parking the car, you meet up Joe Keery and his girlfriend, Maya Hawke and her boyfriend, and Jamie Campbell Bower and his girlfriend. It was like a little Stranger Things reunion; you were happy to see everyone outside of working. You were treated to a special balcony room for the show. The view of the stage was incredible and the room even had complimentary drinks for us all. Once the show had started, you felt a huge smile spread across your face and chills all over your body.  You were happy that the room had a balcony where you could scream with the rest of the crowd.
Harry took the stage with grace and sang all of your favourite songs. Joe had his arms wrapped around you. You were both sharing kisses here and there the whole show. Usually, you would feel a little embarrassed, as you weren’t really one for pda; you were both typically private people when it came to your relationship. You felt at peace and safe in his arms, he made you feel like you were the only two people on the planet. Harry started to sing the intro to your favourite song, Love of My Life. It was such a beautiful song, and it felt even more amazing being in Joe’s arms. It reminded you of the times you both would dance around your small apartment living room together, swaying slowly in each other’s arms, forgetting the outside world for just a small amount of time. Once the chorus came around again, Joe softly sang the words into your ear, “Baby, you are the love my life.” You smile, falling in love with him even more that he’s learnt the words. The next thing he says comes as a surprise to you, as they weren’t exactly the lyrics. “Maybe, one day you could be my wife.” You spin around in his arms, smiling wide and pulling him in for a kiss. You were so lost in that moment that you hadn’t realised he had started to slide a small velvet box into your hand. Once you felt it, you look down at it. Starting to feel slightly teary, you open it to find the most gorgeous ring you had ever seen in your life. It wasn’t too big, just the right size. It sparkled in the lights. You look up at Joe as he looked down at you, nervously waiting for your response. You were in such shock that you didn’t speak for what felt like forever to him. You couldn’t find the words to say, so you responded by sliding the ring onto your finger and nodding with tears in your eyes. He pulls you in for a tight hug, happy and relieved that you actually said yes without actually saying anything. The others watch in awe, and gave their congratulations with hugs to you both. You and Maya squealed as you showed her the ring. She had become your best friend on and off the camera.
The rest of the concert was amazing, but nothing could top you becoming Joe’s fiancé. As you arrived back to your apartment, you pull Joe for another kiss, savouring the moment. “You have made me the happiest girl in the world tonight, I’m so happy and grateful that you’ve come into my life.” You say still holding on to him. You see he starts to get a little teary eyed at your words. “I love you.” You give him another kiss. “I love you too sweetheart. I can’t wait to call you my wife.” He smiles at you.

jamie accidentally saying ily
word count: 319
fluff
inspired by this ask
Tumblr media
“Jamie,” you whine from the doorway, staring sleepily at your boyfriend. He was hunched over his laptop, desperately trying to figure out the lyrics to the bridge of his new song. “Come to bed, lovie, please.”
“I will darling, just give me half an hour? I have to have this finished by tomorrow morning,” he responds, not even looking up from the screen.
You sigh, “don’t be too long please.” You turn around and head back to your shared bedroom, disappointed but understanding.
When he finally slipped into your bed, it was almost 4am. Needless to say it took him much longer than half an hour. He pulled your body toward him, thinking you were asleep.
Unbeknownst to him, since you started sharing a bed you hadn’t been able to sleep without him, and you were still wide awake.
“I’m sorry I took so long baby,” he whispers, not knowing you could hear him. “I love you.”
You do your best not to react to the words but inside you’re screaming. This was the first time he’d said “I love you”. Or at least the first time you’d heard it, it’s possible that Jamie’s said those words to you on multiple occasions while you were actually asleep.
You turn around to face him and he looks at you in shock when he sees your open eyes.
“I…” he trails off, not knowing what to say. “I’m sorry. I get if I’m moving too fast for you or something, if you want we can pretend this never happened and I won’t say it again until you’re ready.”
“Jamie, I love you too.” Your words catch him off guard, he looks surprised, but tries his best to play it off and leans in for a kiss.
Your lips meet, melding together in a moment of love and vulnerability. When you separate he pulls you closer, tucking your head into his neck.
