Rebecca: This totally sucks, man.
Roy: This is horrible.
Rebecca: Yeah, I know, I mean look at today’s news.
Roy: No, it’s not that, it’s Tartt.
Roy: It’s just like, I can’t get him out of my head and every time I look at him I have this pain in my chest, and I just know it’s his fault, that bitch
Rebecca: I don't think that.. No yeah you're totally right it is his fault.

‘Jamie is the best man in the RoyKeeley wedding’ ‘Jamie marries Roy’s sister’ ‘Jamie gets Roy and Keeley back together’ ‘keeley cuts off Jamie officially’
you can literally just be friends with someone you used to be romantic with and there’s no need to put a character into a weird -I will never ever be a threat again I promise!!!- box. The show solidifies they’re all in each others lives forever no matter what. Why force a nuanced dynamic into an incredibly black and white situation?

Fuck the weird auction gala thing, give me the AFC Richmond lads putting on a drag show with actual UK performers like Lady Camden and Victoria Scone.
That's my replacement fundraising idea.

For Wednesday words, Tonight, Breath and/or Step
Thank you my kind friend :)
Tonight from Dear Leslie:
Leslie wasn’t his father, and he prided himself on that. He would never treat his children the way his own father treated him, but Jamie was a tougher nut to crack. Higgins wasn’t sure Jamie would be open to his usual brand of parenting. Jamie’s sharp edges could cut through even the strongest metal, whereas Leslie’s edges were soft and moldable like Play-Doh. But maybe Jamie didn’t need a parent. Maybe tonight Jamie just needed a safe place, a friend and a dog to snuggle.
Breath from the home invasion fic:
Jamie fell to a painful heap on the floor, willing his breathing back to normal and to ignore the new level of pain, but his breath just came in painful, short huffs. A boot connected with his midsection then, and Jamie’s vision went white before he curled in on himself, wheezing heavily in pain.  “Get him up.”
Step (a bit long because I wasn't sure where to cut for context) from you inherit the sins, you inherit the flames:
Her first instinct was to blame Rupert—and then her father. If her father hadn’t treated her mother like less than an equal, would she have been blinded by Rupert’s attention? If Rupert hadn’t made her feel so little, would she have tried to make herself feel bigger by playing with the lives of others? Maybe those were all fair questions, but her actions were still her own.  Divorce is hard. Hurt people hurt people. Rupert is a horrible man who built an ivory tower he kept you captive in, but you climbed every step of that tower on your own. She climbed every step, but the man who locked her in that tower wasn't the one she climbed it for. Still, if she wanted to end the hurt, end the cycle that started within her on that dark day in September, she had to take accountability. She could blame her father, she could blame Rupert, she could blame Jamie’s father, and she did, but as she sat there and looked at the devastated face of Jamie Tartt, she didn’t want to blame anyone else.
She wanted to take responsibility. She wanted to be the woman she was before she lost her father the first time. Before she gave in to a married man's advances.  She wanted to be the person Keeley Jones thought she was. She wanted to be the person Sam thought she was.  “I tried to destroy a monster, so I became one, and I didn’t care if I fed you to a different one to destroy mine."

For word Wednesday:
Profesional, child, genius, and/or tactic
Thank you so much!! Words really help get the juices flowing 💕
Professional and Tactic - from The Richmond Job Ch3
“Well he’s coming over so he better not recognise you,” Keeley hissed, placing a vapid smile back onto her face and resting a hand gently on the small of Roy’s back. “Ah Mr Mannion these are the reporters I told you about. The ones doing the feature on Sam Obisanya,” Cartrick gestured vaguely towards Keeley and Roy. “Be polite, nice to them,” Ted prompted. “But not too nice. You don’t want Mannion to get suspicious or for Crimm to become hostile,” Rebecca argued. “Crimm doesn’t seem the type to get hostile, pleasantness is the way forward,” Ted argued back. “Who is the professional here Theodore?” Rebecca chirped, her voice cheery but noticeably irritated. “Hi, my name is Annie. Pleasure’s all mine,” Keeley declared loudly over the bickering only her and Roy could hear. She turned to look at Roy who was doing a very good impression of a livid wax work with the shade of red that was starting on his neck and the intense glare focused on Trent Crimm. “And this is Conrad. We promise we won’t be getting in your way Mr Crimm. Hopefully we can work together,” Keeley elbowed Roy, staring at him with daggers in her eyes and mentally willing Roy to play along. The elbow stirred Roy awake but from the look in his eyes, Keeley was regretting that decision. “I will not talk to this living piece of excrement, and neither will you!” Roy yelled, prodding his finger into Trent’s chest and pushing past him to head towards Sam. “Nice to meet you,” Keeley laughed awkwardly before jogging after Roy. “Well that went well,” Jamie commented under his breath. “Someone smack Tartt around the head for me,” Roy growled. There was a beat of silence from the HQ as Keeley caught up with Roy. “Ow Beard what the fuck!” Jamie squawked. That brought a little smile to Roy’s face and calmed the steam that was about to come out of his ears. “Well Roy that was certainly an unorthodox tactic but I’m sure we can work with it,” Ted laughed, shrilly and awkwardly. The smile dropped back off Roy’s face, “I was not lying. I will not talk to Trent Crimm and neither will Keeley.”
Child - from A Treatment Room Doors Moment Ch5
Roy hadn’t yet worked out if Jamie was a great babysitter or just the older child you trusted to watch your younger child and hoped for the best. Sitting down for a while, as Jamie and Phoebe bounded around the Pleasure Beach with endless energy, did wonders for his mood and his knee. He was making great progress on his book, had a nice coffee to keep him warm and got to see Phoebe happy. “Look Uncle Roy look! Jamie won me a toy!” Phoebe screeched as she approached at gale force speed. Roy turned slowly and then leveled the bashful Jamie Tartt with a glare. The elephant soft toy was as big as Phoebe and she was having to carry it with her arms around it’s waist and held at her eyeline to avoid it dragging on the floor. “Did he now?” Roy stated, mentally stabbing Tartt in some very private places. Ruth was going to kill him when he rocked up back in London with Phoebe and this thing.
Genius - from Snap Ch8
“Smart ain’t it?” Jamie beamed. Beard actually took the time, for the first time on this trip to look at Jamie. The end of the season had come and Jamie had wound himself back into a tight little elastic band ball, ready to snap at the first display of outward pressure. He had come back from his trip with his mum and stepdad, laden with wine and stories of how great a time they had but still with that tension at his core. Now as they laid on a rock staring out over the ocean as the sun set, Jamie looked free. His smile was genuine, his shoulders loose and his ideas stupid. Just how it should be. “A real modern day genius,” Beard stated, somehow managing to keep the sarcasm out of his voice.

The word is Song for ficwip's Word Game Wednesday. I was sure I didn't have this in a wip, but turns out I have it in two and I couldn't decide which one to share so... decided not to pick. 😂
First one is from When Darkness Falls:
“Jamie…” Keeley flicks a switch on the radio and turns to face him fully. “When you were gone, Roy took it-” “I know!” Jamie snaps at her, “Do you really think I don’t know? I’m not stupid, the amount of time me and him spent together? He’s my best mate for fuck’s sake, you think I don’t look at him and know that he fucking grieved me?” “We all grieved you.” She reminds him quietly. “This-- you coming back, it never felt possible.” “But Roy never gave up.” He sing-songs back to her, too angry to hear good things about Roy right now.
And the second from the Post-Series Ted Lasso wip:
“Fuck. You.” Jamie repeats and slams the door as he storms out, hard enough to rattle the door frame, and it’s both satisfying and not enough. His hand is curled into a fist, his nails biting into the skin of his palm and it takes more than a few deep breaths while he tries to find his way out of this maze of a building before he can relax them. He’s still a mess of emotions when he finally steps out into the bright sunshine outside. It's a lot like walking out into another world, inside he’d felt closed in, it was too quiet, a forced stillness with the light muted by the windows and curtains. Now he could hear the bird song and traffic, feel the heat of the sun and the wind on his skin. But he can still hear his dad’s voice.

When I went to Sunderland, my grandad told me he'd teach me how to ride when I came back for Christmas and then he fuckin' died and I haven't been on a bike since. And now I'm saying that out loud I realize that never learning was actually a great disrespect to his memory and now I feel ashamed so can we stop talking about it and go back to me just taking out my negative emotions on you even if you deserve it or not.
Come on, Roy. For grandad.
