Just had the dangerous realisation that here, of all places, I can share my random OC musings and Dragon Age thoughts/rambles Anyway... I was rambling to my gf last night about how, for me, Lost Elf Theme will always be my Lavellan's theme, not Solas' (idrc if this is silly and self-absorbed, it's just my experience) but I got to thinking about how, even tho I'm not a fan of Solas, my Lavellan did look up to him, and they were friends. And my Lavellan was sooo young when he got thrust into the Inquisition...and I can't help but feel like Solas may have seen his younger self in him.
Like...this young, idealistic but terrified Dalish mage boy, suddenly given so much responsibility and power. Trying so hard to do "the right thing" and use his power for good at every turn. He has so many ideas and so much passion, and slowly over time, he gets worn down more and more, all these voices from all different directions influencing him and criticizing him. He gets harsher, more reserved, tries to become more objective.
But he's still him, he's still just a young man, a man in love too, a man who wants to help his people, and his friends and his found family.
And he holds on to everything, he doesn't disband the Inquisition, he still thinks they could do something, and....when he confronts Solas...he retains some of his softness.
Can you imagine Solas being confronted with that? This young elf who has been so trodden on by the world already, who just had his worldview shattered, who Solas knows has so much rage hidden inside...still trying to convince his 'friend'? Imagine seeing the hurt and disappointment in the eyes of someone who used to see you as a mentor figure of sorts, who used to listen to your stories with wide eyes and pricked ears.

My first ArtFight attack on @elfsidian! Jamor was so fun to draw and helped getting me back into drawing. I apologize if his vallaslin isn’t red, I’m terrible with colors and didn’t want to look him weird. I may draw him again though!

Nike Signs Ja Morant to Its Signature Roster
Tumblr media
According to NIKE
What to Know
As the biggest champion of the game, Nike Basketball is excited to introduce Ja Morant to its signature roster.
Morant is Nike Basketball’s first Gen Z signature athlete. He represents the next generation of basketball players who are shaping the future of the game.
Morant will debut his first signature shoe, the Nike Ja 1, on Christmas Day.
As the biggest champion of the sport, Nike Basketball is excited to introduce the newest star to its signature roster: Ja Morant.
Morant is Nike Basketball’s first Gen Z signature athlete. His bold, fearless style of play represents the evolution of the game and ignites a spark in modern basketball culture. Morant sets an example for Gen Z athletes everywhere as a leader who creates the future of the sport through his creativity, authenticity and style.
“NIKE, Inc. is honored to partner with Ja Morant to serve the future of athletes and sport," says Scott Munson, Nike VP, Global Men's Basketball. "Morant, Nike Basketball’s first Gen Z signature athlete, is a revolutionary player who quickly became a global star with his unmatched athleticism and exciting style of play. His authentic personality, deep love for his community and family and joy for the game make him very special — on and off the court. We are thrilled to add Morant to our signature roster and can’t wait for everyone to learn more about his first shoe, the Nike Ja 1.”
Morant’s signature logo is inspired by his dynamic precision and determined approach to the game. The logo features a stylized “JA” sitting above a chevron, which represents both a directional nod to the verticality, speed and sharpness of Morant’s game, and his ability to rise above all obstacles. When Morant was overlooked and under-recruited in college, his motto, “Beneath No One,” fueled the workouts that helped develop him into a player that is defining the future of basketball.
On Christmas Day 2022, Morant will debut his first signature shoe, the Nike Ja 1. It’s constructed to keep players in control, maximize hang time, and reduce landing force through lockdown benefits. More details of the shoe will be announced in early 2023.
Hear and read more from Morant below on what joining the Nike signature family means to him.

Nike Ja 2
Tumblr media
Quick, agile, and hard to catch, Ja Morant needs a shoe that matches his fast-paced game and helps him soar.
Introducing the Ja 2, Nike’s answer to Morant’s needs and those of the next generation of playmakers. This shoe offers exceptional support, bounce, responsiveness, and control—essential for intense performance on the court.
Building on the success of the Ja 1, Nike’s designers crafted a second-generation silhouette that prioritizes comfort and support, ready for the demands of a full season filled with takeoffs, landings, and quick lateral moves.
“From the Ja 1 to the Ja 2, the core things remain the same. The work ethic doesn’t change,” Morant shares. “It’s all about comfort, added bounce, and sharing new stories through the colorways of my shoe.”
The Ja 2 features a forefoot Air Zoom unit that provides extra bounce, aiding athletes in quick movements, while a molded midfoot panel enhances lockdown responsiveness and control for players who like to drive or break away from defenders. An innovative traction pattern—drawn from the semitrailer tires Morant trained with in his childhood backyard—ensures confident cuts.
The shoe’s sidewall guardrail is designed for protection and stability, allowing players to take off spontaneously. The waterfall-inspired collar lining and ankle padding ensure comfort during any movement, while a ballistic mesh upper keeps the shoe breathable, no matter how intense the game gets.
Morant’s hands-on creative approach is evident in various design elements of the Ja 2, including colorways that encapsulate the thrill of watching him play and reflect his status as Nike Basketball’s first Gen Z signature athlete. For instance, the “Purple Sky” launch colorway captures the mesmerizing experience of watching Morant’s high-flying dunks, flashy ball handling, and intense energy, much like gazing at a purple night sky.
The silhouette also tells Morant's story, connecting his roots with the next generation and showcasing his resilience in overcoming challenges.
This theme extends to the Ja 2 apparel collection, featuring Morant’s unique style and connection to youth culture through vibrant, artistic designs on his signature fleece hoodie and pants.
In acknowledgment of Morant’s influence on the game, the second signature silhouette will include kids’ sizes, and the fleece hoodie and pants will be available in extended sizing.
“In Nike Basketball, we collaborate with the best athletes to enhance their performance on the court and create a platform for storytelling. We can’t wait for everyone to wear the Ja 2 and to be inspired by Morant’s growth and electric playing style,” says Josh Wachtel, VP/GM, Global Men’s Basketball. “The Ja 2 delivers everything hoopers need—it’s bouncy, fast, stable, stylish, and available in kids' sizes to support the next generation.”
The Nike Ja 2 will be available on SNKRS and in select markets on September 26, with the silhouette and apparel collection launching globally at nike.com and select retailers on October 8.
