#and some use memes or viral media as references #honeslty kind of amazing what people think is the bar that marks an ‘artist’ from like…I don’t even know ehat they’re calling the guy who #painted their cats but yeah. it’s fascinating #art is something someone made #like…the definition is very very broad #once again the question is whether the art is good but that is very very subjective #it does make me wonder whether copywrite laws are differrnt in japan though #definitely understandable to be shocked to see something directly inspired by a shot you took in a gallery. it is very polite to ask if you #may use an image or give the art to the person. someone was using my instagrams as feet references once and I was upset and shocked #but like…it’s not on the same level as AI #and it’s like…something that artists have been doing for many many years #I do think it’s something that should be talked about though #and it is btw like it’s an ongoing conversation in art #like there was that artical recently where an actress’ instagram photo was printed out and that work sold for thousands and then she had #to buy it from the artist?#there is defs a conversation that is happening and it’s often very wanky #but…#but
