He swore it was a slip. But if he’ll be honest, taking it back is the last thing on his mind.

Author’s highlight (author’s favorite part/ part they liked writing the most or found most entertaining):

Jason felt a bit awkward about the idea. The last time he made Alfred a homemade gift was when he was in third grade. It technically isn’t homemade since it was for school and he was graded for it, but he did make it at home so it counts. Besides, he always had the intent to gift the final output to Alfred from the beginning. 

He shared the story to Steph. He had to be creative with clay, literally anything so long as they didn't make a pot or jar is what the teacher instructed. He remembered Alfred’s last name is ‘Pennyworth’ so he made a giant Alfred-themed coin (looking back at it now, it only felt huge cause it was twice the size of his eight-year-old self’s palm). 

Why do I not have a value on the back of my coin? He remembered Alfred teasingly asked him.

Because you’re worth too much! He remembered his answer. The numbers won’t fit.

Stephanie cooed appreciatively and placed a hand on her chest. “That’s just too adorable.”

Jason smugly smiled, “I was a pretty adorable kid, wasn’t I?”
