Ok this study took way too long and I just can't be bothered to paint all that fabric pattern and frame carving. It's a lighting and contrast study anyway. What matters is that I learned something lol

Ok so this style turned out to be easier and faster to paint as it relies heavily on the sketch itself but it will all depend on how clear the sketch is, and this one is a bit too messy so it took a long while. This is mostly experimental though so even if it's clear, it'll most probably take some time to finish.
I just had enough painting on my small desk because I can't paint on anything larger than an A5 paper unless I take away my laptop, but I can't because I need my references. So I thought about emulating the whole graphite + poster color look in csp and it turned out great. I deliberately retained most of the wonky parts as I want to feel like I'm still actually painting on paper where I'm accepting all the mistakes and just carrying on with finishing it.
Hope I can get a better desk (in a better place) so I can paint something like this in the future.

Cloth folds study + experimenting with graphite, color pencils and poster colors.
I know graphite makes the colors muddy but that's what I'm actually after along with the grain it gives out. Added way too much on the first one though
