I feel like as a society we’re really sleeping on the fact that the entire movie sets it up so that we know that everyone practically worships Ferris and thinks of him as a higher being and let him do basically whatever he wants except for Cameron, Sloane, and Jeanie, and then Ferris full on says “you can’t respect someone who kisses your ass. it just doesn’t work.” and that’s why he’s been friends with Cameron since the sixth grade and hasn’t left despite apparently threatening to numerous times and that’s why he loves Sloane and that’s why he trusts his sister and like the movie makes much more sense when you think about it that way

Over the years, I’ve heard a lot of people say that they wished there was a sequel to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and I’ve never believed that it could work, because I don’t think there’s anything new to do with Ferris. But, I just now thought of a sequel that I think would work and I wish had been made:

A movie about Jeanie

Like, the arc she has through the movie is fun and I want to see what happens next.

I want to see Jeanie as the new main character. The one talking to the audience. Jeanie who has decided that she doesn’t care what other people think and doesn’t care about getting in trouble.

Let’s see a movie where Jeanie gets to completely let loose.

I always thought a “Ferris Bueller Meets the Breakfast Club” type story would be really fun.

I like to think that Ferris is friends with each member(Brian teaching him how to hack into the school attendance records on his computer; he, Sloane, and Claire talking about the hottest boys in the hallway; he and Cameron sitting with Allison every day for lunch etc)
