I genuinely want Harry Potter to go obsolete. Like I want Universal Studios to have to close down the HP section cause no one goes anymore. I want TV stations to stop playing it because no one watches the marathons anymore. I want bookstores to stop carrying it because it's no longer in demand. I want to go on ao3 and see that the most recent work was a year ago because the fandom is dead. I want people to forget what ravenclaw and hufflepuff mean (I also want to wear my school tie without being asked if I'm a gryffindor). I want people to see emma watson and name every other work she's done. I want people to look back and cringe and be like yeah I was into that as a kid, embarrassing i know. I genuinely hope and pray for the collapse of the entire Harry Potter franchise and I'd throw a party the day it happens.

Whenever someone is like "I'm trans and I still like Harry Potter! Don't like JKR ruin your childhood" I know they aren't British and have no knowledge of what the fight for trans rights is in the UK.

I am once again on the jkr/harry potter hate train and like, i just want to remind HP fans that we really don't give a fuck what you do in private.
Like, you bought merch before jkr let the world know she's a TERF? K.
You have all the books and the one that were like, printed with house covers or whatever and have had then for years? Okay.
Like we (or at least I) are not telling you to burn your books or throw your merch in the bin. Like as a stranger on the Internet i don't care if you and your friends have a HP book club and meet every week to talk about it (it would be different if i knew you irl) but as a trans person, ESPECIALLY as a trans person living in the UK and seeing the effects of JKR's bigotry in real time, I care when you promote it in public. Because social media is a public space and when you run fan accounts, when you create media for it, when you make fanfics and promote the books and the characters, when you encourage other people to learn about the franchise, you are supporting JKR. Whether you mean to or not the moment you put it out in public you are supporting her by giving her stories a platform and exposing it to newcomers and hyping it up and she actively uses that. You can say "JKR sucks" or "I don't agree with her but I love the books" but the moment you publicly support these stories you support her. She has said that as far as she's concerned the people over 70% of the people who support HP agree with her views, some are just afraid to say it publicly. She cannot be separated from her works because not only is she not dead but she refuses to be separated from them. Creator of Harry Potter is all she's known for and she continues to speak about the franchise she has created. She is in Harry Potter as much Harry Potter is in her and they can't be separated. Not when she views supporting the franchise as supporting her. Not when she is still gaining money from it and not when she is ACTIVELY using that money to fund transphobia in the UK. We have passed the point of separation, publicly supporting harry potter is publicly supporting her and publicly supporting transphobia. You are either saying I agree with what she is doing or I don't care what she is doing and both of those are equally terrible.

Convinced that ao3 post i reblogged yesterday blighted me. Normally if i point out that an author is doing something problematic, i get a polite reply and they edit it. But this morning i woke up to this nonsense.
Me: I don't think we should perpetuate harmful stereotypes about minorities, even in fanfics
Person: it's FANFICTION, don't take everything you see on AO3 seriously
Like please, dear cishet girls writing mlm ships, you can write good stories without fethising and stereotyping i promise. Learn or I'll take your internet away.

Since my anti-hp posts blew up i was wondering if i should make a masterlist of my other anti-hp posts and reblogs but like, as much as i believe in speaking out, especially as someone on the intersection of so many minorities, i really don't want this blog to become an anti-hp blog and i feel like making a masterpost will encourage people following me just for anti-hp content and i don't want to set that precedent

Your post about chronic health problems just touched me sooo much I've had a herniated disc since I was 15 and I've never fucking heard of any teenagers have it and I've never had the will to exercise I've just been dying slowly
I get you, i understand and I'm glad my post helped. Also i know sometimes knowing you're not alone helps so I just wanted to let you know that my sister got a herniated disc when she was 16 and she turned 42 this month so you're not alone and you're not doomed. However no will to exercise is a mood, I've had scoliosis since i was like 9 and i can count on my hands how often I've done my exercises. I hope this is coherent i am mentally exhausted 😂😂

Nonbinaries of Colour
Y'all I’m going to address this because I’m so fucking tired man.
I’m tired of seeing these lovely nonbinary mood boards and having all the people in them be white or at least white passing. I’m tired of not seeing Black nonbinaries, particularly dark skin nonbinaries. I’m tired of not seeing Asian nonbinaries. I’m tired of not seeing Native nonbinaries.
Show me black nonbinaries, Asian, native, latinx nonbinaries. Our ancestors were nonbinary before the term even existed. They had their genders erased and were forced into the binary by colonisation. Do not erase us from Nonbinary representation.
Being nonbinary is not nor has it ever been “a white people thing” so stop acting like it is.
