Sometimes a found family is a genocide survivor, his completely separate genocide survivor girlfriend, a binocular droid, a cranky pilot and the daughter of a guy he killed.
Would absolutely LOVE if people could stop bitching about Merrin “not being lesbian” and that they “made her boring” by putting her in a “cishet” relationship. And also that “it came out of nowhere”.
1) Merrin is pansexual. She is no less a queer character because she’s not exclusively attracted to women. She is still a queer woman, and if you disagree your biphobia is showing.
2) because Merrin is queer, her relationships are by default NOT hetero. Again, your biphobia is showing.
3) it was literally broadcast in JFO that there was some romantic tension between Cal and Merrin. Like, that’s not shipping goggles, it’s legitimately in the script. It’s not subtext. It’s text. Not sure how that’s “coming out of nowhere” but okay.
4) Merrin’s less interesting to you cuz she decided she liked green eyes and shoulder freckles? Really? You can disagree with her taste but that instantly erases everything else about her? That sounds like a you problem.
No one is obligated to like a ship, canon or otherwise, but you could at least NOT be biphobic dickbags when you’re complaining about it. I have to deal with that shit enough in real life. I don’t care if you don’t like her with Cal, but just SAY THAT instead of implying she’s not queer enough, or she’s boring because of it. That shit fucking sucks.
A little something for my Merrical shippers(and me, being one of them)❣️❣️
Jedi:Survivor is amazing y'all, I'd even go as far to say it's some of the best star wars material since the clone wars was still airing.
And Cal and Merrin's development as characters? Holy crap were they good, I cried more times than I can count! They were so cute and supportive over each other and as compared to our first look at them you can actually see their maturity as individuals and how much growth they've had before coming to a conclusion on their relationship, I'm--❤️🔥💓💞
There’s this thing we all do in our spyscrapper fic, where we say Bode Akuna’s daughter Kata has her father’s eyes. And in the finale of Candela Obscura Circle of Tide and Bone episodes, we find out there’s a character walking around with Rajan Savarimuthu’s eyes. Given that Bode and Rajan are both played by the extremely talented Noshir Dalal, this is a very good thing--what handsome people to look at!--but it also means that I'm gonna sit here and be Not Okay because of certain character trauma and seeing The Eyes of the One You Love in someone else's face.
I was replaying through Jedi: Survivor the other day and finished it, and a thought occurred to me I hadn't really thought of before. Spoilers under the cut.
Even after everything Bode did to them, Cal still gives him a proper Jedi funeral, with the cremation and such. The fact that after he caused the death of two of the people Cal cared a lot about, Cal still did that for him. And maybe he did it for Kata's sake, who knows. It's just the fact that Cal still cared enough to do that and it makes my heart break for him. I had never really thought about it before last night
Sometimes I wonder if instead of buying Survivor, I should’ve just watched a play through because all I really care about is Cal and Merrin kissing honestly
