i was watching a video essay that talked about lgbtq+ book bannings in schools (as one does) and i started to “write out” my argument in my head but. the debate gradually turned into a winger speech. now i can’t stop imagining some stupid fanfic of jeff arguing at some greendale school board meeting for free speech and it’s called like “jeff winger solves homophobia” or something

hi here are some of my community hot takes
troy's leaving episode isn't that good and has a lot of emotional potholes (although, is still heartwarming and a great depiction of psychosis), troy and abed are a good couple specifically because they don't need to use labels and using romantic labels takes away from their relationship, frankie is one of the best characters in the entire show, and jeff as a father figure for annie is worse than actual jeffannie
:)
1- i never thought about that, but yeah, i guess it was pretty rushed. like, a trip to "find himself"? really? troy deserved a better farewell, to be honest. i mean, when i watched community i never looked anything up or participated in fandom, so i was completely convinced he'd be back eventually on s5 or s6. i thought i'd be for like 6 episodes or something.
2- i agree, but i don't think it really takes away from their relationship. but like, i get what you mean, i also think troy and abed are much better without any labels.
3- i think initially they had more of a big brother-little sister dynamic, but it's hard to imagine that later after all the jeffannie. it just seems very unnatural after all of the times the show paired them together as a possible romantic couple. i don't think it's worse, i just think it's hard to actually see them that way

NOT gentle reminder that Abed Nadir’s father is canonically Palestinian, his grandfather lived in the Gaza strip, and his cousin Abra visits from Gaza in season one. You can not be a Community fan and a supporter of Israel.
