the funniest part of an au where jet never saw iroh heating his tea & kept hanging around bugging zuko is that iroh seems to like jet. like iroh was 100% down with jet "liberating" some food for him and when jet says he's trying to make up for his past iroh says he believes in second chances and looks at zuko pointedly, basically elbowing him and going "see nephew? redemption arc!". like he sees jet and is like "another young man trying to make up for his past? he'd be a great friend for zuko" which is objectively really funny considering that it's you know. jet

jetko is such a funny concept to me. they are loser4loser, freak4freak. the gaang seeing them would be hilarious in general but none more-so than katara. imagine being katara and seeing them together. how would it feel knowing you’re spit sisters with your nemesis? your nemesis who bagged the dude you liked and now serves in a tea shop while his bf beats up cops. she’d see them holding hands and spontaneously combust. breaking news: the two worst people you know are dating. if i were her i’d fall to the ground.

with the atla live action trailer dropping i am once again suggesting that in season 2 they have jet and zuko share a little kiss on the ferry boat. it literally changes nothing about the plot but makes the tea shop fight scene so much more heartbreaking and emotional.

the betrayal on both sides! jet because this guy that he really admires turns out to be fire nation and he can’t reconcile the fact that the fire nation may not all be monsters, that he may actually really like one of them. zuko because jet is someone who sees him and understands him and someone he may be able to grow a relationship, romantic or otherwise, with and jet attacks him for seemingly no reason, endangering both himself and his uncle.

the betrayal! the angst! the prospect of what could have been if circumstances were different! if there was no war and no suffering! the added gut punch of the fact that zuko learned jet died via shitty play! come on guys!!! you see the vision!!!
