Dolls I got in 2023:

Camille, JLY 24. The one that the seller told me was Tenney and got mad when I said it wasn’t!

Jess doll, renamed Winslow but I want to rename her again. From a friend that tumblr isn’t letting me tag lol

Lea Clarke, renamed her Lola bc she is going to be my fallout doll and that’s one of my OCs. She is sometimes a historical doll to me so historical Lea is named Lilliana Dolores

Addy, with the old eyelashes that are soft and brown. I think she’s from the first or second year that she was produced, her vinyl is kind of sparkly/shimmery. When I got her she came with her original meet bonnet, a slightly stained apron from her Xmas craft kit, Ida Bean, AND her spelling bee medal, both of which are regularly listed for sixty plus dollars. I paid sixty for the whole lot! I was so happy to be able to get her doll as well!

Doll Lot Haul!

I bought an AG lot off facebook marketplace and wanted to share what I got!

First up, the two dolls! They aren’t in perfect condition but I think they can be recovered. on the left is a JLY 24 and the right is GOTY Kailey Hopkins. Kailey’s head and legs have turned bright orange, and one arm was hot glued by the former owner. She will be getting a trip to the doll hospital. the 24 has stained arms and a haircut, which aren’t too hard to fix.

A bonus item that came with the lot was this doll carrier backpack! I wasn’t expecting to like it so much, but I think it’s so fun! In person it’s even more purple and sparkly, plus there’s a matching doll sized one.

A few of my fav outfits!

the garden party outfit, as modelled by Veronica! It didn’t have the accessories, but did come with two pairs of shoes. I added matching hair clips.

Kailey’s Wetsuit and Bikini! the wetsuit has a lot of pilling but the Bikini is in perfect condition. the water shoes are so cute.

the Radiant Rhinestones outfit/Holiday 2003 outfit is the culprit of all the stains on JLY 24’s arms. It’s really beautiful but I’ll have to be careful having dolls wear it.

The Beachside Outfit is really cute! I love the nautical colours and details.

There were a bunch more JLY outfits in the lot but I tried to keep the post short! There’s also few more Kailey items (meet outfit, boogie board, etc). After the hospital trip/home repair, I plan to sell both dolls.

Emerald-Set Box

Materials: gold sheet, set with carved Colombian emeralds and a faceted diamond in gold kundan, with an enamelled base

Other Notes:

This sides and lid of this spectacular gold box are set with 103 emeralds, perfectly matched and fitted. They are carved in shallow relief to depict cypress trees within borders of repeated stylized leaves. The precious materials and the high quality of the design and craftsmanship suggest that the box was made at the highest level of Mughal court patronage.

Each of the 16 slightly convex rectangular panels that make up the wall of the box is composed of two or more emeralds and is carved with a cypress with its tip curving to the left. The triangular panels on the cover are each composed of three or four pieces of emerald and are also carved with cypresses. The stones are held in place by narrow bands of gold, which also define the panels. The vertical bands are decorated with a sharply chiselled zigzag motif. At the apex of the lid is a diamond. It has an octagonal table surrounded by 24 visible facets within the girdle and appears to represent an early form of brilliant cutting.

The underside of the box is covered with emerald-green enamel over engraved decoration. The pattern consists of a central rosette surrounded by two rows of stems with split acanthus leaves forming pairs of double scrolls. The ground is hatched and cut away so that the enamel is darker in the background and lighter over the rosette and scrolls. The decoration suggests European influence, which presumably came into Mughal court art during the first half of the 17th century with the European craftsmen in the service of Jahangir and Shah Jahan. It is possible that the designs were influenced by engravings from the studio of Bernard Salomon who worked at Lyons in the mid-16th century.

Tonight in GIF Making: Ep 17 and 24 WWX and JLY Emotional Comfort Parallels

(Really this was a set I noticed three weeks ago while making the “your bones” set for @merelhyn but )

In the first column, she’s also upset so it’s just super super sad all around. JC is not ok. They’re both worried. (you can actually see JC in the bkgd)

In the second set, things are less awful so they’re happier. He’s hurting and she’s hurting but JC is ok and they’re home. They’re back at Lotus Pier. The location makes everything better. They can tease and banter and WWX can do the baby brother thing and sajiao. I love cute happy WWX in JYL’s lap so much.

I also love how THESE are what she does for him when he’s upset. She’ll caress his face to initiate the touch. She’ll grab his hands and comfort him. And then she’ll let him put his head on her lap. Do you wonder about this ever started? Maybe this is how she handled him/reached out to him when he’s just been whipped by YZY or been chased by a dog. Touch gently and let him get close. Touch some more and reassure him. Then let him in and comfort him full on.

There’s something so warm and sweet about this sequence. I’m really glad the CQL team made a point to have this be their comfort ritual.

Louis is booked for the Today Show the morning of the 31st, and we got a video of him reacting to covers of his songs (and the singers reacting to him reacting it gets a little repetitive tbh). He comments on 'kids these days' (probably thinking of his own YouTube days and please leave your honest opinion im only 16 years old ...goddd), acknowledges that JLY exists and, of course, finds nice things to say about everyone, even when it's, uh, a challenge. A tote bag was added to his merch. The Sun published a piece compressing most of Simon Jones' favorite het Louis tropes in a single article, yawn. Louis on E: we are not engaged uh but yeah in the future sure after all we have been together uhhh... (checks hand) for ten years... ('what? that's not her? eh oh well whatever.') And of course, those 'mutual respect' jokes don't write themselves, we need him and Harry out there repeating that they kind of share that (the respect obviously what did you think I meant though also the phrase) at every opportunity to keep it alive, and I guess it was Louis' turn. Eleanor meanwhile swooped in with a wild card today: she wished Clifford a happy birthday! (Louis and Freddie can't relate- honestly could you draw more attention to your silence about Freddie LMAO) And on a serious note, Louis also talks very sweetly about how he was distressed by the talk after Fizzy's passing but then saw that mostly it was actually love and support and that he really felt that.

Harry was seen in LA with a beard (no no, like facial hair, and lots of it wow babe), in town for Jeffrey's birthday party and I perhaps Grammys parties (and he was seen again, and again. I thought people in LA were supposed to play it cool about celeb sightings?) Rumor has it he's shooting 'something' (next video?) in a school in Florida soon, oOoh (while he's there for his upcoming show one assumes.)

Niall is home in Ireland and I'm gonna guess Irish instagram had to scramble not to crash with the volume of people posting about how excited they were to get to interview him, drink with him, or simply see him around. He promoed his Irish Late Late Show slot by saying "hello people of Ireland it's me, your son." He played NTMY and This Town but ALSO, we're told, recorded a couple more performances and another interview to be aired "in a few weeks' time to coincide with the release of his album." Oh really! Some other outlet said his album was out late March, but they weren't credible generally: the fact is we just don't know exactly but it will be soon.

And Liam, also partying in LA, was seen at the Spotify Grammys event.

How many dolls do you have? Do you rotate through who you take pictures of?

Me and my sister have 24 dolls between us, and I own 14 of them. I frequently use dolls from both of our collections. I don’t necessarily rotate through them in a specific order? I usually just pick a doll I haven’t photographed in a while. I also have favorites to photograph, like jly 4, jly 58, Caroline, Cécile, and Kaya. Some of the dolls almost never get photographed though, mainly because they aren’t in very good shape.

National Coming Out Day is celebrated in the UK on Oct 11. There was literally a day of TV events on one of Britain's main channels in conjunction with Stonewall to mark it. That's a fact. Do you think Stonewall & C4 got it wrong?? Do you think Stonewall says "It's National Coming Out Day!" on *America's* national day instead?

First off, I just want to say I am not arguing when NCOD is celebrated or if Stonewall “got it wrong”, as I conceded the point to the last anon.  National Coming Out Day in the U.S. is October 11th, which coincides with the 1987 march on Washington.  I can only assume U.K. is the same.  Seems logical.  

Second, I am unsure how my statement doesn’t make sense (unless your reading comprehension is remedial), as it clearly states the anon does not considered the truth of the information within the articles, but just when the article was published.  The anon mentioned the article was outdated which is irrelevant because it clearly states NCOD is celebrated on both days. 

Third, the original argument had nothing to do with the actual date or whether or not Louis intentionally dropped JLY on NCOD.  The discussion began when a blogger called Larries “crazy” for thinking such an awful thing (maybe not in those exact words).  Here’s the thing…

1.  NCOD is on Oct. 11th:  Yes

2. Louis dropped his single at 12:00 am local time in London:  Yes

3. It is a far fetched crazy idea that Larries could make a connection between NCOD and Louis’ release:  NO

Exhibit 1:  NCOD originated in the U.S. and is celebrated in the U.S. on Oct. 11th.  However, in London, while the U.S. is still celebrating it is now Oct. 12th.  Thus you could argue, if you lived in the U.S., NCOD covers both days.  Not far fetched.

Exhibit 2: The release day and time.  Although the time is seemingly universal, the day in which Louis released the song is highly unconventional.  The music industry uses Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and local time for music releases.  The song will be released, generally, at 0:01 UTC local time.  I believe Louis used this timing format to release his song.  Basically, the song dropped every hour somewhere in the world.  If you are in the U.S., the song would be dropped in London roughly 5 hours before, thus placing the drop for people in the United States on the 11th, even though we could not obtain it until 12:00 am EST on the 12th.  So, not a far fetched crazy idea from the Larries.  

One could also argue, the purpose of releasing it on a Thursday versus a Friday, which is considered in the music industry as the Global Release Day.  Why would Louis drop the song on Thursday and not just wait the extra 24 hours till Friday?  On more thing, I noticed while researching the song itself is articles commenting on how Louis announced the single on the 11th but dropped it on the 12th…again lending credibility to the not so crazy Larry Theory.

If you look at the conflicting information and the point of view from the U.S., Larries have a case for their beliefs.  I don’t think it is a crazy, tin hat theory especially looking at the video and the content of it.  There are some really in depth posts about the video, if you are interested.

Ma come possiamo fare e cosa a questo punto? NON E' GIUSTO. Io amo anche Harry ma ho sempre tenuto un po' di più a Louis e non ce la faccio a vedere che Harry ha tutto questo clamore e tutte quelle persone che lavorano per lui mentre Louis è da solo... e non ha una sola possibilità. Ma noi come lo possiamo aiutare?

Guarda, purtroppo quello che possiamo fare noi è dargli solo il nostro supporto incondizionato. Io sono felicissima per Harry, il successo che sta avendo è più che meritato, il suo album è iconico e sinceramente avrei qualche appunto da fare anche al suo team perchè non sento che il suo potenziale sia stato sfruttato al massimo (tralasciando varie scelte di marketing decisamente discutibili). Ma con Louis non ci stanno neanche provando. Il sabotaggio è evidente, noi possiamo soltanto continuare a comprare i suoi singoli, ascoltare le sue canzoni su spotify, twittare le varie radio per chiedere che le trasmettano e dimostrargli il nostro amore e il nostro supporto tramite i suoi social.Sono consapevole che sia una situazione immensamente frustrante, meriterebbe così tanto di più, ed è anche evidente che il suo team stia facendo il minimo indispensabile affinchè lui non possa licenziare tutti.Possiamo solo sperare che la situazione in cui si trova adesso finisca presto e che il suo team inizi a fare un lavoro decente che vada al di là di un semplice retweet e del fotoshoot di circostanza.

Introducing Myself

Hello! I’m Katie, 26, she/her. My main is @dreamiekatie​, but I wanted to make a sideblog since that wouldn’t fit in with what I reblog. 

I’ve always loved AG dolls and just got back into collecting them when I was 24. Unfortunately I gave away my previous collection (which consisted of Marisol, Molly, Nicki, and Elizabeth) when I moved as a 14 y/o so I have to start from the bottom. Pictured below are Kit, (my absolute FAVE) Rebecca, Molly, and Melody! Not pictured are my BeForever Samantha I’m going to sell and my childhood JLY 27, who I cannot find. You might see me post more about Kit though, as she’s the only one at my apartment as I don’t have enough room, the rest (save for Sam) are at my mom’s.
