Pulptober 27th: Brush With Horror - Joe Golem
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Can you tell I'm a big fan of Dark Horse horror comics yet? I don't have as many of the Occult Detective issues as I do Baltimore but it's still a damn good read. Art by David Palumbo and Mike Mignola

I'm stalling here! I'm building my Fantastic Book Shop stall and have a few visitors: Xisuma, Skizzleman, and VintageBeef!
After that, I chat with Docm77 about his log permit bluffs, then go work toward gathering copper for him with ZombieCleo by way of the wither skeleton farm.
Then, Skizz and I fight the wither with a bit of help from halloween magic!

so as much fun as fanon designs are, we decided it could be fun to do a #HermitHybridScramble with a random spinner:
obviously feel free to spin your own, but this is what we got:

what hermit would be what potential new mob?
Sniffer: Stressmonster! Because she's gotta have her flower farms :D
Rascal: Cub! unhinged being who likes to play games and hides underground
Tuff Golem: Joe Hills! His inventory is a disaster Zone so he's always ends up having arms full of stuff.

Wither fight (non-cheesed) track records so far for hermitcraft season 10:
Tango and Gem: plan failure, both killed in the process, eventually defeated it with help from Skizz
Joe and Skizz: plan success, the 20+ iron golems KO’d it in no time, no deaths
Joe on his own: plan failure, wither escaped into the sky, golems useless, had to be taken out by five hermits 1,200+ blocks up in space, several deaths in the process
In conclusion, it’s best to over-prepare. And in the worst case scenario: call a friend.

Demise 2.0 standings as of episode 1👍 (I watched literally every perspective for this)
Other people have already done this but I didn’t see any that had everything I wanted to see on a list, so I made one for myself lol
Ghost: Cub, Doc, Grian, Impulse
Reaper: Beef, Cleo, Etho, Gem, Jevin, Keralis, Ren, Scar, Skizz, Tango
Alive: Bdubs, False, Hypno, Iskall, Joe Hills, Joel, Mumbo, Pearl, Stress, Wels, Xb, Xisuma
Wildcard: Zedaph
More detailed notes about everyone below
Stuff inside [ ] is how they died
Beef: Reaper [Impaled by a drowned]
Bdubs: Alive
Cleo: Reaper [accidentally broke block from under her and fell into lava]
Cub: Ghost [shot by skeleton while caving] -killed Scar-
Doc: Ghost [didn’t jump up high enough and got killed by an iron golem] -killed Tango
Etho: Reaper [got blown up by a sneaky creeper]
False: Alive
Scar: Reaper [accidentally opened a chest from Cub he knew was trapped]
Grian: Ghost [pushed off ledge by baby zombie while caving] -killed Gem
Gem: Reaper [launched by Grian’s fishing rod]
Hypno: Alive
Impulse: Ghost [shot by skeleton after digging straight down because Grian suggested it] -killed Skizz
*fun fact: he was the first out and the first to commit murder

Jevin: Reaper [shot by skeleton while caving]
Joel: Alive
Joe Hills: Alive
Keralis: Reaper [punched an iron golem]
Mumbo: Alive
Pearl: Alive

Tango: Reaper [Doc dropped an anvil on his head]
Wels: Alive
xB: Alive
Xisuma: Alive (somehow)
Zedaph: ??? [burned to death while fighting a zombie] -his name has the color of ghosts but he didn’t kill anyone?? So he might just not be playing
*fun fact! He did not acknowledge demise at all in his video :D*
*Additional fun fact! Both Bdubs and Etho said in their videos that they didn’t actually know what the victory prize was lol*
Please god I hope I got everyone

i cannot believe that neither joe nor skizz died. mind you, that might be because of the 25 iron golem-related overkill. but, still,

Shane Stardew Valley 🐔
(Gladly!)
Shane Headcanons (Stardew Valley)
I personally refuse to believe he and Emily aren't at least a little friendly with each other, considering how often Shane is at the saloon. They seem like the type of friends that don't seem super close but who actually know each other really well just because of their frequent proximity-- like I imagine this to be the case with nearly everyone in Pelican Town and Emily, but in Shane case, it's really sweet. She would be happy to see him happy, I think.
Shane has names for all of the chickens at the ranch, naturally, just look at Charlie, but I think he's the type to have a naming system similar to that of a kindergarten class. Like every single chicken is given a "John Smith" type average Joe name, both because they're easy to remember, and that he just likes the names.
He hits like the type of person to collect the pop tabs after finishing a beer, whether he realizes or not, and by the time he's sobered up, he has SO MANY POP TABS, like at least a few jars full.
Additionally, I imagine he learns how to make pop tab jewellery with Jas, and they have matching friendship bracelets.
Going off his Joja commercial cutscene, there is no way that man doesn't have an inner catalogue of product jingles and slogans burned into his brain. He knows ALL of them. At one point during him and the Farmer's friendship, he ends up mumbling the State Farm catchphrase to himself, but its "like a good neighbor, the farmer is there" and the Farmer just ❕❔
He has the heat resistance of a lava golem, given he loves spicy foods and vegetables, and he's given the younger bachelors/bachelorettes psychic damage by eating ghost peppers and the like without breaking a sweat. Sebastian is still traumatized. (/lh)
Shane does not understand modern lingo. He overheard Sam talking about hitting the gritty and he felt himself age several decades on the spot.
He's a shockingly fast runner, but only when he's motivated. And typically, that motivation is his temper. Piss him off, and you'd BETTER hope you have a good hiding spot, because you are NOT outrunning that man in a rage.
