In 2016, the JumpStart MMO updated the designs of Jumpeez. Some customization options were removed when the change was made, such as being able to choose different head shapes and mouths. In the top image featuring an older Jumpee design, icons featuring a head and a mouth can be seen near the upper left, indicating that these features can be changed. The middle image, which shows the updated Jumpee Creator, no longer features these icons. The bottom image, which was used in one of the MMO's loading screens, shows some examples of older Jumpeez with varying mouths and head shapes.
The original designs of the Jumpeez in the JumpStart MMO (top) were first used for the avatars in JumpStart 3D Virtual World: My First Adventure (bottom), a game that was released several months before the MMO.
In 2008, JumpStart launched a "Jumpee Avatar Contest", which asked participants to create and submit Jumpee designs. The grand prize winner of this contest won a US Savings Bond worth $10,000 for the entry displayed above, which was shared to the JumpStart Blog in 2009 after the contest had concluded.
In 2016, the JumpStart MMO updated the designs of the player avatars, which are referred to as Jumpeez. Prior to this, the character designs of the updated Jumpeez had appeared in JumpStart Magic & Mythies in 2015 for that game's avatars. These designs were then retroactively added to the MMO approximately a year after the release of Magic & Mythies.
In 2010, the JumpStart MMO hosted a Best Buddy contest from January 20th to February 2nd. During this time frame, players would receive in-game rewards if they invited people to join the game by sharing a buddy code. JumpStart's official Facebook account shared this video to promote the contest, which notably features a rare instance of a Jumpee talking.
A feature of the JumpStart Blog and some other official social media accounts during 2015 was the Jumpee Lookbook. These posts highlighted outfits worn by certain Jumpeez and were written from Kisha's point of view. The posts occurred once a month and would typically feature looks that correlated to the current season in some way.
One of the minigames found in the MarineLand area of the JumpStart MMO was Trendy Tides, a fashion show which asked players to dress their Jumpeez within specific requirements. When it was first added to the game, it was called "Merllywood’s Next Top Model", which is most likely a play on the name of the TV show "America's Next Top Model".
The Punk-Punks are typically presented as troublesome, michievious creatures who only serve as obstacles. However, some of the MarineLand missions in the JumpStart MMO revolved around trying to understand the Punk-Punks and find a way to live in harmony with them. In the Caverns, there was even a mural seemingly depicting Jumpeez attempting to approach and potentially befriend a couple of Punk-Punks (bottom).
Prior to the release of the JumpStart MMO, an early version of Ghost Town Grab that featured the JumpStart main cast rather than Jumpeez was available to play on the JumpStart website. In this version of the game, it's incredibly easy to scale walls simply by repeatedly pressing the jump button. This is not known to be the case in the MMO version, so presumably this was unintended and later fixed.
One of the seasonal features that appeared in the JumpStart MMO during December was the Elf-O-Matic, which, as described by the JumpStart Blog, allowed users to "elf themselves" by equpping their Jumpeez with special holiday gear.
