yeah i'm excited for the kane chronicles movies but the fact we didn't get a tv show is upsetting only because when throne of fire gets adapted there won't be an episode called "camels are evil...but not as evil as romans"

Am I the only one tired of this fandom revolving around Percy so much? I like him, but you guys act like literally no one else matters
The other characters suffer from it. And I get that he kinda gets the most development, but I don't really see people lobbying for Carter to get more books so he can shine, like you guys genuinely don't care about these characters outside of Percabeth and maybe Nico, and it annoys me.
I'm so sick of hearing how Percy is the strongest, or the most well-adjusted, or I kid you not, I've seen people say Percabeth is the most functional couple in YA fiction. Like, that's kinda conceited, don't you think?
I was kinda brought up on these books differently? I started with the Kane Chronicles, so I wasn't here when the books released, so to me Percy never was first and most important, just one of the many characters.

The BFG by Roald Dahl (1982)
Captured by a giant! The BFG is no ordinary bone-crunching giant. He is far too nice and jumbly. It's lucky for Sophie that he is. Had she been carried off in the middle of the night by the Bloodbottler, the Fleshlumpeater, the Bonecruncher, or any of the other giants-rather than the BFG-she would have soon become breakfast.
When Sophie hears that they are flush-bunking off in England to swollomp a few nice little chiddlers, she decides she must stop them once and for all. And the BFG is going to help her!
Graceling Realm by Kristen Cashore (2008-2022)
Graceling tells the story of the vulnerable-yet-strong Katsa, who is smart and beautiful and lives in the Seven Kingdoms where selected people are born with a Grace, a special talent that can be anything at all. Katsa's Grace is killing. As the king's niece, she is forced to use her extreme skills as his brutal enforcer. Until the day she meets Prince Po, who is Graced with combat skills, and Katsa's life begins to change. She never expects to become Po's friend. She never expects to learn a new truth about her own Grace--or about a terrible secret that lies hidden far away . . . a secret that could destroy all seven kingdoms with words alone.
Oz by L. Frank Baum (1900-1920)
Join Dorothy and her little dog Toto on the yellow brick road, as they set off to explore the magical Land of Oz. Can they find the Wizard, defeat the Wicked Witch of the West, and return to Kansas?
Stardust by Neil Gaiman (1997)
Catch a fallen star . . .
Tristran Thorn promised to bring back a fallen star. So he sets out on a journey to fulfill the request of his beloved, the hauntingly beautiful Victoria Forester--and stumbles into the enchanted realm that lies beyond the wall of his English country town. Rich with adventure and magic, Stardust is one of master storyteller Neil Gaiman's most beloved tales, and the inspiration for the hit movie.
Inkworld by Cornelia Funke (2003-2023)
One cruel night, Meggie's father reads aloud from a book called INKHEART-- and an evil ruler escapes the boundaries of fiction and lands in their living room. Suddenly, Meggie is smack in the middle of the kind of adventure she has only read about in books. Meggie must learn to harness the magic that has conjured this nightmare. For only she can change the course of the story that has changed her life forever.
Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine (1997)
At birth, Ella is inadvertently cursed by an imprudent young fairy named Lucinda, who bestows on her the "gift" of obedience. Anything anyone tells her to do, Ella must obey. Another girl might have been cowed by this affliction, but not feisty Ella: "Instead of making me docile, Lucinda's curse made a rebel of me. Or perhaps I was that way naturally." When her beloved mother dies, leaving her in the care of a mostly absent and avaricious father, and later, a loathsome stepmother and two treacherous stepsisters, Ella's life and well-being seem to be in grave peril. But her intelligence and saucy nature keep her in good stead as she sets out on a quest for freedom and self-discovery as she tries to track down Lucinda to undo the curse, fending off ogres, befriending elves, and falling in love with a prince along the way. Yes, there is a pumpkin coach, a glass slipper, and a happily ever after, but this is the most remarkable, delightful, and profound version of Cinderella you'll ever read.
The Witches by Roald Dahl (1983)
This is not a fairy-tale. This is about real witches. Real witches don't ride around on broomsticks. They don't even wear black cloaks and hats. They are vile, cunning, detestable creatures who disguise themselves as nice, ordinary ladies. So how can you tell when you're face to face with one? Well, if you don't know yet you'd better find out quickly-because there's nothing a witch loathes quite as much as children and she'll wield all kinds of terrifying powers to get rid of them.
The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan (2010-2012)
Since their mother's death, Carter and Sadie have become near strangers. While Sadie has lived with her grandparents in London, her brother has traveled the world with their father, the brilliant Egyptologist, Dr. Julius Kane. One night, Dr. Kane brings the siblings together for a "research experiment" at the British Museum, where he hopes to set things right for his family. Instead, he unleashes the Egyptian god Set, who banishes him to oblivion and forces the children to flee for their lives. Soon, Sadie and Carter discover that the gods of Egypt are waking, and the worst of them--Set?has his sights on the Kanes. To stop him, the siblings embark on a dangerous journey across the globe -- a quest that brings them ever closer to the truth about their family, and their links to a secret order that has existed since the time of the pharaohs.
Discworld by Terry Pratchett (1983-2015)
In the beginning there was… a turtle.
Somewhere on the frontier between thought and reality exists the Discworld, a parallel time and place which might sound and smell very much like our own, but which looks completely different.
Particularly as it’s carried through space on the back of a giant turtle.
It plays by different rules. But then, some things are the same everywhere. The Disc’s very existence is about to be threatened by a strange new blight: the world’s first tourist, upon whose survival rests the peace and prosperity of the land.
Unfortunately, the person charged with maintaining that survival in the face of robbers, mercenaries and, well, Death, is a spectacularly inept wizard…
Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor (2011-2014)
Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.
In a dark and dusty shop, a devil's supply of human teeth grown dangerously low.
And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.
Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real; she's prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands"; she speaks many languages—not all of them human; and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she's about to find out.
When one of the strangers—beautiful, haunted Akiva—fixes his fire-colored eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

Cocoa Chronicles
I'm always happy to get a request from the Kane Chronicles or Magnus Chase so of course I would write this one! I hope y'all enjoy :) Pairing: Carter Kane x gn!reader (platonic) Request: Carter with a reader who always has a cup of hot cocoa in hand, no matter the situation nor season? This is my first time requesting to you guys specifically 😅 Also your fics are amazing! Word count: 0.8k Warnings: none! I dunno, reader drinks diary- -Asnyox
Tumblr media
Ever since last summer, Carter had a new found suspicion of you. He knew you liked hot cocoa - the winter prior had consisted of so many cups of hot chocolate that Carter was almost considering staging an intervention for you. Almost. However, last summer he went on a quest with you, in the middle of the desert, and during your lunch break you took out a thermos from your bag, filled with hot cocoa. You offered him a cup, but he kindly refused and offered you a cooler beverage (you know, water) instead. Yet - later that day you encountered a bunch of monsters, and instead of having to fight them, you fed them your cocoa and they relented.
Ever since then, he had been paying closer attention to your cocoa habits. Indeed, you had hot chocolate on you at all times. At another point, a few weeks after the last quest, the two of you were stumped on a puzzle. As you do, you had gotten out your hot chocolate and you accidentally spilled some on the floor.
That led to a clue, as the beverage sank into some slits in the floor, revealing hieroglyphs. Carter, who seconds before would have scolded you for not being careful, instead appraised your hot cocoa. Carter considered whether your cocoa, or maybe even thermos, was magical, but maybe the inherent comfort of a hot cup of a beverage might just be magical enough.
And he was thankful for your seemingly endless stash of hot chocolate when both of you got caught up in a snowstorm. Luckily, this time you weren’t on a quest, just simply locked in Brooklyn House, with everyone a little miffed that they couldn’t go outside. You quickly jumped to the occasion, and started asking everyone if they wanted a hot chocolate. Carter offered to help you prepare - maybe he wanted to see whether you would simply pour all the cups out of your usual thermos. Sadly, you had put a pan on the stove, and grabbed different chocolates out of the cabinet. So, instead he decided to simply ask.
“What’s the deal with you and hot chocolate?” “You want my recipe?” you asked, fully prepared to explain all the steps. “Uh- yeah that too but,” Carter hesitated, “You’re always drinking hot cocoa, like this summer you had it on you too!” “Well what do I say,” you smiled, “I just love the taste that it has! Plus hot chocolate always gives me comfort.” Carter nodded in understanding. “So no magical thermos?” He asked, “It’s just your favorite drink?” You laughed. “Why would my thermos be magical?” you shook your head, “It truly is just my favorite drink, Carter.” you pondered for a moment, as you stirred the milk, “But if you do find a magical thermos, give it to me?” as you looked at him, Carter nodded. You smiled as you went back to explaining your recipe to Carter.
A little while later, the entirety of Brooklyn House was sitting together in front of the television, with a random movie on the screen.
A while later, you simply weren’t having a good day. Got bad news, had too many things to do, bad nights sleep and the Brooklyn House was out of ingredients for chocolate milk. You really weren’t feeling it anymore, and decided to just lock yourself in your room. You were scrolling on your phone, when there was a knock on your door.
“(Y/n)?” the voice of Carter came from the other side, “Can I come in?” You sighed as you stood up, and opened the door for him. He smiled at you. “Do you have a moment? I would like to show you something.” He held out his hand, and you reluctantly grabbed it, as you then followed him.
He led you to the roof of Brooklyn house, where there were a bunch of pillows on the floor, and most importantly, two big, steaming cups of hot cocoa.
“I thought we were out of ingredients,” was the first comment you made as you laid your eyes on the cups. “We were, but I figured I would get you some,” Carter shrugged, “Sadie mentioned you were looking rough today. This isn’t much, but I hope it helps.”
As you sat down, with Carter next to you, the last sunbeams of the evening warming you, you felt a little weight lift from your shoulders.
“It does, Carter, thank you.” you sipped your hot chocolate, “You should’ve used more chocolate though, but it’s a good attempt.” “I tried my best,” Carter grumbled and you laughed. “You’re a good friend,” you smiled, “Not yet a master hot drink maker though, but a good friend.”

Pjo was all over this year's year in review
starting with Percabeth and Solangelo in the ships list, although I'm sure next year they will be higher with the solangelo book coming out and the og trio book as well
Tumblr media
and then, as expected, we were number one in the books category
Tumblr media
but ToA and Magnus Chase were there as well, I love that most of the Riordanverse was on the list
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
apparently we're in Tumblr communities as well, which I didn't expect because not even supernatural is in this list
Tumblr media
and we made it to the tv shows category! that one surprised me
Tumblr media
and walker is in the celebs list!!! I love that
Tumblr media
I also imagine that The Kane Chronicles will be in some list next year, because of the movie (although I don't know when it'll come out, but I imagine that by next year we'll have at least casting news and some set pictures)

So, I started to see some people who watch the Percy Jackson show but didn't read the books and either saw the movies or not, so I thought about making an explaining post in case some of them came across my blog (spoiler free, of course, feel free to read if you're missing context about the show, I'm gonna try to answer the questions I saw the most people asking – is it an excuse to infodump, probably) :
What is the difference between the books, the show and the movies ?
The two movies were made after the books something like ten years ago. However it was a bad adaptation, so they made a new one, that is the show.
Does the show follow the movies ?
No. The show isn't linked to the movies at all. The movies were a really bad adaptation of the Percy Jackson books, and the author himself hated them. That's why they wanted a fresh start for an adaptation.
But is there gonna be a third movie ?
No. The second movie was a weird mix of the 4 last volumes of the first serie of books, so there's never gonna be any third movie possible with what they did. Any fan of the books would advice you to watch the show instead, that is following the books better – if you don't want to read the books themselves.
Why are the characters so young ?
As I said, the movies were bad adaptations. In the first volume of the books, the main characters are 12 years old, and not 16 like in the movies. In the show, they're gonna age with time until they're 17, just like in the books.
How many volumes of the books are there ?
Percy Jackson is an extended universe of books, divided into multiple series. The first serie, "Percy Jackson and the Olympians", has five volumes in total. The second one, "Heroes of Olympus", that is directly following the first one, also has five volumes. These two series are considered to be the "main books". However, there is also a third one, "Trials of Apollo", with also five books (following "Heroes of Olympus"), two secondary series happening in the same universe, "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard" and "Kane Chronicles", with 3 volumes each, a stand alone book called "the Sun and the Star" that is happening after "Trials of Apollo", some "bonus" books with short stories... And the most recent book, "the Chalice of the Gods" that is probably the start of another serie. So if I didn't forget any, there are 27 books in total and more to come.
Do I need to have read the books to watch the show ?
No, it is not necessary to have read the books. Of course I'll always recommend people to read them because they're awesome, but you can still watch the show if you didn't (and I understand that giving the amount of books, a lot of people wouldn't want to read them if they don't like reading). There's some little details you could understand better if you read the books, but it's not that important and more like easter eggs for the books fans.
Is the show really following the books ?
Yes and no. Of course it's the adaptation of a whole book to an 8 episode live-action show, so they changed some details. The characters don't have the same physical look as described in the books, but that's because they prioritized their acting over their look. However the show is really well done and most of the books fans agree that it's still very truthful to the books. I personally love what they did.
How many seasons is there gonna be ?
The plan is to make one season per book. They're waiting to see if the first season is successful ; if it is, we should get a second one, and if the show is successful as a whole, it should get at least 5 seasons (10 if we're lucky) !
When are the episodes airing and how much are there ?
Two episodes came out for the first airing, but after that, one episode is going to be released each week on wednesday. There's gonna be 8 episodes in total for this first season. The first episode was 37 minutes long and the second was 42 minutes long, so we can assume all of the episodes are gonna be approximately 40 minutes long.
Isn't the targeted audience kids ?
Yes it is. The Percy Jackson books are the kind of "the characters are growing up with the audience" books ; so each book is a little more mature. It's probably gonna be the same thing in the show, the first seasons will be more targeted to children and the last ones to teenagers / young adults.

I should do more book polls here...
More about each option below
These all stem from the looking at my bookshelf. So some may just be uhh bc interesting. Bc LISTEN I have to many books I've yet to read bc I want to read them all.
1. SOCCK do I need to say more? Favorite Series right here (I may or may not have it basically memorized) and I have a yearly reread of it (like with Ranger's Appretice) I haven't read it this year yet so it gets to be an option (unless you want to count the amazing comic adaptation by @ jccatstudios bc omg it's amazing)
2. Wings of Fire Series. Saw something abt it recently and I own up to Book 13 (tho I'll get 13 and 15 if I end up reading it) + Darkstalker and Dragonslayer. Waaayyyyy back when (like at least 8 years ago) when I last read it was up to Book 8. + Darkstalker I read that one too. So technically I'd read 8 new books if I read this (15 + slayer) Bc who doesn't enjoy rereading childhood books?
3. Ink by Alice Broadway. Skin series. Interesting concept - I almost picked it up once but ended up changing what I was going to read last minute (oops)
4. Uhhh Rick Riordan. Fun Fact I've never read Percy Jackson until 2021 (and before then I thought the movies were good ;-; so bad) So more of his work bc yeah. I own Kane Chronicles and Magus Chase but decided on Kane to be the choice. Peaked my interest more than the other right now.
5. Dark/Spark I got this a while ago at library book sale and and just...haven't read it yet? Superhero esc ans such and I mean look at the titles lol.
6. Hit and Run. Been wanting to read more mysteries.
7. I got the first book off of a 'blind date' book reading thing. (Like nothing but the genre and a sentence abt it wrapped in paper so you don't know what you chose until after. I just never got around to it (I'm horrible I know) I think bc I was in the middle of a different series at that time and it got hidden on my shelf (book overflow before I got more bookshelves lol)
8. Shadow Run. I've had this for a while. Idk feels like it's gonna be a hit or a miss book but I'm adding it anyway. (And I own the 2nd book to so)
9. What If It's Us. Gay. I've been telling myself to read this series for so long and I just NEVER did. Make me do it.
10. Leviathan series. Got this one semi recently, its steampunk and the books are weirdly heavy (bc it has pictures! (Wow so amazing)) Wouldn't of gotten it if I hadn't interested me some :)
Only the first 2 options are rereads (one is semi) then rest I've never read. And please, give me book recommendations!

10 Characters, 10 Fandoms
Tagged by @pinayelf thank you :D
Magnus Hammersmith (Metalocalypse)
Tumblr media
Real fucked up of the creators of this show to take my celebrity crush + bisexual awakening as the visual reference for a character who's always partially shirtless and wielding a knife. Also there's a 5000 year old prophecy that says his destiny is to be a forgotten loser.
2. Captain Nemo/Prince Dakkar (Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea)
Tumblr media
The gif is from the Disney movie, but my heart belongs to the original novel characterization. Genius inventor who turned his back from society, but not from marginalized people. Good at everything except for not falling down self-destructive spirals. Takes money from sunken colonialist warships and uses it to fund revolutions. Serves as a haunting metaphor as the ocean itself. Please when will we have a faithful adaptation?
3. Thoth (The Kane Chronicles interpretation)
Tumblr media
I am specifically going with The Kane Chronicles' interpretation of this Egyptian god. Especially compared to a lot of other interpretations of him in modern media, I like how the book doesn't portray him as this stuffy "everyone is an idiot except me" kind of guy. It's really refreshing seeing an interpretation of a god of knowledge who is clearly scary-powerful and a genius, but is also the ADHD weirdo who keeps getting distracted and can't finish his projects. I also like how he doesn't brush off the protagonists because they're mortals or teenagers or whatever. The book does a great job showing how his brain works and how he thinks, which makes him a lot more effective as a god of knowledge imo. Also they made him relocate in Memphis, Tennessee? After so many British adaptations of him, it's refreshing to see a god of knowledge with a southern accent (if you listen to the audiobook).
It's so good, it almost makes up for the book's interpretation of Anubis.
4. Vivienne (Dragon Age)
Tumblr media
I thought for a while about which Dragon Age character I should add. While there are characters I made more stuff about during my peak years in the fandom, Vivienne is the main character I keep going back to. I love her elegance, the way she's written, her voice acting, her look??? Fashion/character design in the franchise peaked with her. Also as far as a Circle character goes, I find her utterly fascinating as someone having to survive in an oppressive system and developing different/conflicting perspectives about it. I think she was a much-needed perspective and I adore her. Also now I was just reminded of the trend of people having their white mage ocs or the other white mage characters "educate" her about oppression and now I'm mad about Dragon Age bs again lol. Vivienne is the best choice for divine don't @ me.
5. Dale Cooper (Twin Peaks)
Tumblr media
*Holds him up like a a cat* he's nice :)
I've rewatched this show (the main series - haven't gotten around to watching the new show) and every time I find more reasons to love him. He could have so easily been this brooding cynical noir type, but instead he's this ray of sunshine who sees the beauty and joy in everything around him. I'm glad he's okay :)
6. Shaolin Fantastic (The Get Down)
Tumblr media
Putting aside my heartbreak over this show's cancellation for a second to talk about how good the cast is. I thought about choosing Zeke, but I couldn't not choose Shaolin. I love how he's introduced as this mysterious genius who was willing to fight a man in an alley for a record, but then the main crew gets to know him and he's a huge dork? He takes care of pigeons, he samples the Star Wars theme in his DJ sets, he's nice :) Also the cool big brother vibe he has with the younger characters is really cute. It would suck if this show got cancelled so the story will always end with him being forced to go back to his abuser :) that would suck.
7. Nozomu Itoshiki (Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei)
Tumblr media
I think he's funny and pretty and I hope he gets therapy.
8. Bella Goth (The Sims)
Tumblr media
Weird to add a Sims character maybe, but not doing so would be a disservice to the chokehold this woman had on me as a younger player. 10 year old me broke my copy of TS2 because I fucked up the game files by trying to get Bella back.
9. Benny (Fallout: New Vegas)
Tumblr media
I knew I had to pick a FNV character. I considered Silus, since he's interesting for a Legion character. But in the end I went with Benny. He has the best aesthetic, and his evolution from "the guy who shot you and instigated your protagonist's whole plot" to "pathetic little guy who agrees to help you take down the system because everyone sucks--and also he's into feet" is some masterful character growth.
10. Rumpelstiltskin/Mr. Gold (Once Upon a Time)
Tumblr media
This show is a mess, but the scene where he beats that man with his cane was kinda hot. Also you can't make a man 1. the most powerful force in the universe, 2. somehow still pathetic, 3. have that hairstyle, 4. trying to be a good father and partner but always failing because of his own selfishness, and 5. Scottish, and not expect me to enjoy him. Robert Carlyle put his entire rumpelstussy into that performance.

Adventures of Chika Hanabusa: The Restoration of Earth
Disclaimer: This book follows the events of Percy Jackson and Heros of Olympus fanfic, this fanfic will not include Trails of Apollo, The Kane Chronicles, and Magnus Chase.
Chapter 27: The Hard Decision
Chika PoV
As Isabelle dropped me next to Reyna, I moved close to Reyna's body, and we just cuddled by the trees. Reyna has a content smile as he hugs me closer.
"So far this day has been crazy, I never thought that I would sit next to you in this tree without worrying about monsters," Reyna says while she takes a long breath and just lays her shoulder on the branch.
“It’s nice that we could have this moment to ourselves Reyna," I say calmly while lying close to her chest. She and I are enjoying the body heat we share and I can hear birds chirping. This does feel like an ending to a Disney Movie where the main character and princess are just enjoying the moment after they beat the bad guy. I used my power to grow an apple, and I handed it to Reyna.
“For you, my queen” l say flirty and I winked. Reyna just ate a piece of the apple and she just chuckled.
“Thanks...” She got close to my face, and she kissed my lips. I felt our tongues wrestling with each other. Reyna pulled me to the ground got on top of me and went on kissing.
"AHEMM!! It seems you are busy daughter." The voice shouted and I saw my godly mother staring at Reyna and me. She was wearing a green flannel shirt with jeans that had dirt stains. She has styled her dark hair in braids and she looking at me with an annoyed expression.
“Apologies Lady Demeter.” Reyna got up from my body and bowed to my mother. I followed her lead and bowed to Mom now.
"You guys should wait till you marry or at least do in the bedroom. Well anyway, your grandmother and father are waiting for you, Chika. It's about business concerning Gaia." Mother says as she holds on to my hand.
"I want to join in on the conversation, I'm also aware of Chika being the host to the greatest enemy of Olympus.” Demeter just nods and lets Reyna follow us. Demeter still holds my hand while Reyna follows behind us. We saw my teenagers just doing basic training and we made it to the big house on top of the hill. We entered the house and we saw many paintings of lions and fruits. The house has light brown walls with many antiques. We got into the office while my father sat across from the mother of the Gods herself.
“So glad that you bring the child and the Praetor, Demeter?” Rhea says politely and she signals all of us to sit next to my father.
“Now that everybody is here, I believe Chika Hanabusa should stay at Spati for the time being. That will prevent my mother from causing devastation. It is not the best situation, and I don’t blame any of you if you have any objections.” Rhea closed her hands together and she looked at the four of us intently and saw how we reacted. To be honest I'm not even sure of being here when I promise that I will go to New Rome with Reyna. But now that dream could be broken because of Gaia.
“Honestly Mother I trust you to look after my daughter and prevent grandmother from using her for her plans. If it is alright with your mother, I want to spend a couple of days with Chika. I need to teach her about her powers and how to manage a home. Now I got my daughter Persephone to take after my duties for the time being, so I don’t need to worry about my duties for the time being.” Demeter says while I felt my body becoming tense. Mother will teach me about my powers, does she have a plan to make me stronger?
"That is not a bad idea daughter, Chika will need your assistance," Rhea says. I want to have a say about my future, I need to let them know how I feel because I'm the one that they are discussing.
"I will follow Demeter and your lead, Mother of the Gods because you guys can protect my daughter from Gaia. I want Chika to graduate high school, however, and I want her to be all alright about this. She wants to go to New Rome with her friend, Reyna. Isn't that right, Chika.?" Father looks at Reyna and me as we are holding hands. I just finally confessed my feelings to Reyna and now I have no choice but to stay away from her. Fate is cruel.
"That is correct father, I want to be with my girlfriend Reyna. But I understand why we are having this conversation. This is all about preventing Gaia from going on a rampage. Father, you told me that doing the right thing is not necessarily what we want but we must do. I don't like this decision at all, but I know that it is the right thing to do. I'm just worried if Reyna is willing to leave me." I covered my face with my hands. I felt some tears coming to my eyes, this is such a hard thing to do. Can Reyna forgive me for breaking my promise to her? The first day of being her girlfriend, and I'm already doing a crappy job. Maybe Reyna could understand that this is the best option at the moment and that this could be effective in helping Gaia while making sure other demigods don't come in danger. You know what, I have been thinking selfishly and all about my relationship with Reyna, I never bother to think about what Gaia truly wanted. The whole reason why she rampaged is because she care about her kids to the point of destroying herself. If she’s around her titan daughters, then she can be at peace knowing that they are safe. Now I realize I’m being immature about this because I’m risking so many lives just to be with Reyna. I will become stronger to the point that I can make my own decisions without worrying about Gaia and someday, Reyna and I will be together like a normal couple.
“I agree with you, great Titan Queen. I wanted Chika to join me in New Rome, but it's not about what I want. If you can prevent Gaia from rising again and help Chika control her, then demigods don't need to worry about her anymore." Reyna says with a low voice, she looks a bit angry about this with her glaring at the wall behind Rhea and her taking in low breaths.
“Then it is decided, thank you, everybody, for your time," Rhea says formally while we all leave her office and go outside.
“Thank you Dad for standing up for me and I promise to make things work with you Reyna," I say to Reyna and my dad. My dad just kissed my forehead and gave me a giant hug. I hug back as well, sometimes I forget how strong my dad is. He walked with Demeter while giving Reyna and me a private moment.
"It's ok Chika, I'm not mad at you. What the Titan Queen is proposing is a smart decision. I kept forgetting that I was indirectly letting Gaia into camp, which is very risky. I will wait for you Chika Hanabusa, you are the love of my life and I won’t give you up ever. We will get through this and I promise to visit you often and Iris messaging every day.” Reyna says with a loud passionate voice.
“I won’t give you up either Reyna even if we are going to different locations for our goals. I will visit New Rome as well.” I say boldly and I decided to Kiss Reyna right here and now. Reyna kisses back and it's just us at the moment, nothing else matters.

Thanks for answering my ask. If you don't mind me asking (again), can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
Not at all!
Alright, top 10 favorite media...
1. Killer and Healer (cdrama)
I've explained many times why I love this drama and to sum it all up, it's one of the greatest love stories I have ever fucking seen in my life and they have set the bar too god damn high in terms of relationships, communication, everything
2. Lord of the Rings Triology Extended Edition (movie)
Can't go wrong with the Lord of the Rings. Love the Lord of the Rings. It's such a good movie
3. CSI: Miami (tv show)
My favorite of the CSI franchises. I've seen every season, and at least every episode at least twice (maybe more). I just really like police procedurals and this has always been one of my favorites
4. Percy Jackson (book series)
You cannot go wrong with the Percy Jackson series now, come on. It's fucking Percy Jackson.
5. The Kane Chronicles (book series)
Now this is also written by Rick Riordan but instead of Greek mythology, it's Egyptian mythology and as someone who wanted to study egypt mythology and be an Egyptologist when I was younger, this shit appealed heavily to me. Still does. Love this book series
6. NCIS: New Orleans (tv show)
Out of the NCIS franchise, I like this one the most. I think it has the best cast, the best cases...I don't know, I just like this one the best
7. Hawaii Five-0 (tv show)
I never got the hype when I lived in Hawaii (yes, I was born and raised in Hawaii, no I'm not military or a missionary kid, I was born there) but once I went to the mainland for school, I started watching it and I understand why everyone really liked it. Also McDanno...great couple. I love their relationship
8. HiGH&LOW: THE WORST X (movie)
My favorite of the HiGH&LOW movies. I don't know what it is about this one but it's just...it's just my favorite. I think the characters and the relationships were all great and it was able to build off of the previous movie HiGH&LOW: THE WORST. And most sequels don't really work but this shit worked. And it's good. And the fighting? I'm an action girlie and these movies have some of the best fight scenes like ever
9. The Fiery Priest (kdrama)
One of my first kdramas that I've ever watched and oh my god. It's both funny and serious and the concept of the whole drama is just hilarious. I have never cackled so hard while watching a drama before. Love this drama
10. Danger Zone (Tdrama)
Oh my god, this drama. Oh, it's one of the only taiwanese dramas I've watched but holy fuck is it dark. It's so good but it's so fucking dark. It's another police procedural but the relationships in the dramas are really good. But it is not a drama you watch late at night. It's not. But it's so good

are you currently in any other fandoms other than dc :]?
I don’t like participate in any other fandoms, but I do consume content for; PJO (and all related fandoms like Magnus Chase, Kane Chronicles, Trials of Apollo). Six of Crows. If Matilda counts there's that. I guess MHA but it's really hit-or-miss. I recently watched Far From Home on Netflix, I don't think it has a fandom, but I loved it, same with the new Scrooge animated movie. The MCU when it's funny because I've watched most of their movies and I'm hyped for the new Spiderverse movie. Wednesday, vaguely, because I have not watched it and have no plans to (I've heard it's a good series but not an accurate rep of the Addams Family) but I think Wednesday and Enid are cute together and Eugene is adorable.
There's probably more I'm forgetting, but this is it for now!

Tagged by the lovely @marshmellowtea ! Thanks for the tag!
Last song: Euphoria by BTS. From my fluffy OTP imagines playlist. <3 Currently also listening to Stray Kids! (What's new?)
Favourite Colour: Turquoise! Cyan is a close 2nd.
Currently Watching: Too busy studying egyptology... På Spåret I guess? It's a Swedish quiz show, really fun!
Last movie: Red, White & Royal Blue! It was really good! Actually my mom watched it first, but she really liked it so we watched it together when I came down to visit. Which was... over a month ago, huh...
Currently Reading: My required reading for my egyptology course. It's egyptian myths rn, which is my main interest, so that helps!
Sweet, Spicy, or Savoury: 98% of the time sweet, 2% of the time savoury. Never ever spicy. My autistic taste buds can't even handle kimchi!
Current Obsession: I have no idea, getting into a depressive mood, so everything is feeling a little... muffled by water, if that makes sense? Also, I have so many obsessions going on at once. I guess the Fallen Hero series, Fire Emblem, Persona, Percy Jackson/Kane Chronicles, the DnD movie Honour Among Thieves, Baldur's Gate 3, and KinnPorsche? But they are all or are becoming mainstays in my head, so... Ancient Egypt doesn't count, I'm always obsessed with that!
Currently Working On: Do the scenarios that run around my brain 24/7 count? No? Then the KinnPorsche/Love in the Air crossover time-travel fix-it fic that's on the back burner, I guess. :/ I'm still not done with the character sheets, and I need to make a more detailed outline.
Tagging @fun-with-colors and @teatitty because you are the only ones I feel comfortable @ ing. Anyone who wants to can say they were tagged by me, though!

So, given that the last Harry Potter book came out 14 years ago, it is...sometimes difficult to understand why people still insist on actively engaging with it despite saying that they condemn JKR. Even though boosting the properties she still profits on is actively enabling her to commit harm.
And look, I get it. I have a HP tattoo (a golden snitch.) These books were important to me. They always will be- they were formative. They gave me a community.
And I think that's why people are out here insisting on pirating the movies and writing fan fiction and buying etsy merch instead of just walking away.
It's not just that you need to find a new book- you need to find a new fandom.
Allow me to offer some suggestions!
1. Riordan-verse. Not only did the Percy Jackson books grow more diverse as the series went on- they are STILL coming out! Plus a new Netflix show AND a Kane Chronicles movie are on the works. The fandom is very active and fun. Dont pick your house- pick your godly parent!
2. Murderbot- the Murderbot Diaries are very fun, very quick scifi novellas with lots of queer rep and strong anti-capitalist themes. The fandom is strong and growing, with lots of fan art to go around!
3. Discworld- Sir Terry Prachett passed several years ago, but with 41 discworld books, other books besides, movie and TV adaptions, video games, and even puzzles, there is content for decades. The fandom is still very active and always willing to give you a reading order recommendation.
4. Pokemon. You want a huge fandom with lots of nostalgia, endless content, fan art, etc that is still very active and fun? Try pokemon. Try Pokemon Adventures manga specifically if you want the coolest part of the fandom.
5. The Broken Earth by NK Jemisin. First of all, top tier fantasy. Some of the most inventive and cool world building I've read in years. The fandom is small, but a movie adaptation is in the works, so the fandom is about to explode. (This series is more adult and darker than the other stuff on this list. Very good, but a darker vibe. Check that before you commit to it)
Let Harry Potter be a treasured part of your childhood- not an active part of your future. Especially when your engagement with it, even just in fan spaces, boosts and promotes transphobia. It's ok to let it go. Find a new fandom, find a new community.

Just Watched the Percy Jackson movies for the first time as a new fan of the books
I’m totally new to the fandom. Just reading the Riordanverse books this year as an adult. So far, I’ve read Percy Jackson & the Olympians, Heroes of Olympus, The Kane Chronicles, the PJ/HOO short story compilations, and the PJ/KC crossover short story trilogy
As someone new to the fandom without childhood nostalgia for the books, I actually thought the movies were pretty okay. Not perfect, and obviously changed a good bit but they were a lot better than I expected given the fandom’s opinions towards them
The first movie, up to getting to Camp Half Blood was pretty nicely adapted but that’s when they decided to change up the plot from the book. I actually really enjoyed the trio. The biggest issue with this movie, I think, is that they took out Ares and make Luke way too much obviously a villain.
The second movie I actually really enjoyed the take on it. It’s much more accarute to the book while still having changes to the way it happens. I remember thinking in the intro that it was basically here’s the important stuff the first movie left out (Thalia’s backstory, introducing Clarisse and Mr.D all in the span of a few minutes)
The issue with the second movie is it takes away reveals from later books: 1) the prophecy, 2) Luke’s team being names of characters that were either not even mentioned or revealed as traitor later on in the books.
One thing I find interesting about the second movie, Marc Guggenheim (who wrote the screenplay for it) said in interviews that he was brought in for rewriting a draft that the producers didn’t like. And apparently their issue with the original draft was that it was too accarute to the book with them thinking some aspects can’t translate well to the movie. He brings up Grover’s plot and how in the book Grover doesn’t appear very regularly for a good portion of the book’s story, and he felt that doesn’t work as well in a movie timeframe.
Long story short, I enjoyed the movies for what they were knowing I was going in to see not exact adaptations and was presently suprised at how much stuff was kept in.
I know it’s a different situation then other fans who would have been excited and disappointed in the changes, but I think the movies are way too overhated in the fandom

Tag Game
Something a wee bit different. I was actually tagged in two slightly different versions of this by @loverboysainz-interacts and @f1-incorrect-s so I've just combined them into one because I'm ✨lazy✨
Favourite time of year?
It's definitely a toss-up between summer and autumn. Hot weather and blue skies just make me feel so much better about everything in life, like I physically can't have a bad day if it's sunny!! But also I am OBSESSED with the colours of autumn, I love the warm drinks and comfort food, I love ugly jumpers and dark academia, I love the fresh start feeling that comes with the new academic year (and it's my birthday hehe)
Comfort food?
Sunday Roast. Specifically my mum's beef with ALL the trimmings and more gravy than socially acceptable (+ rice pudding for after)
Do you collect anything?
I would say the main thing I collect is Harry Potter merch, especially the replica and ornamental or subtle pieces. OH AND BOOKS AND STATIONARY, I'm addicted to notebooks and coloured pens
Favourite drink?
Coffee. Gin. Currently obsessed with Thatcher's Orange Cider. I am also the kind of person who is partial to a sparkling water (fight me)
Favourite song/artist?
I'm too into music to have a singular favourite song. My favourite band for sure is Waterparks (HIGHLY recommend if you haven't heard of them before)
Current favourite songs?
I Ain't Worried - One Republic 🌶 Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) - Edison Lighthouse 🌶 Come and Get Your Love - Redbone 🌶 Brutal - Olivia Rodrigo 🌶 Smooth Operator - Sade 🌶 Bonfire - Childish Gambino 🌶 Greenhands - Sundara Karma 🌶 Funeral Grey - Waterparks 🌶 Chateau Lobby #4 (In C For Two Virgins) - Father John Misty
Favourite fic of mine?
Flat Spin for sure. Personally, I feel like it showcases some of my best writing and I'm really proud of the plot for it. I feel like it's the first ever story I've written that is a full story and not solely focused on the relationship alone (but I'm also really happy with the relationship I'm developing in it). Plus the LOVE from you guys, the community I've become a part of as a result of it... it's been the most incredible couple of months and I'm so grateful <3
Relationship Status:
Somehow I have managed to convince a REAL boy to like me. We've been together 3 years
Favourite Colour(s):
Green. Closely followed by orange and yellow.
Song stuck in my head:
Currently, there isn't one because I'm watching trashy TV as I do this, but earlier it was As It Was by Harry Styles
Last thing you googled:
ACP injection equine data sheet (I promise I'm a really, really interesting person)
Time:
19:40 BST
Dream Trip:
My dream holiday is to go to Italy - sunshine, history, pasta, wine and coffee are my idea of heaven. But overall dream trip is to get my visa and go work in Australia for a year or so after I've graduated
Last thing you read:
The last thing I finished was Percy Jackson: The Last Olympian as part of my pre-Disney plus series re-read. Currently on the go is The Kane Chronicles: The Red Pyramid. And I guess for completion the last "first time read" book I read was Atonement by Ian McEwan
Last book you enjoyed reading:
The entire Percy Jackson series I've been re-reading. And I can't NOT take this opportunity to tell everyone that Atonement is literally the best book I've ever read and I'm OBSESSED with it and with Robbie and Cecilia. And the ANGST, the pain, the pining oh my god this book is just *chefs kiss chefs kiss chefs kiss* NOT TO MENTION the writing style, the self-reflection throughout, the most elegant POV switches I have ever seen. Please, everyone just read this book (and then watch the movie because James McAvoy as Robbie.... my LORD)
Last book you hated reading:
Dune by Frank Herbert. Not to be hipster but I wanted to read it when I watched the 2002 miniseries Children of Dune back in summer 2020 (again, James McAvoy obsession who) and then when I saw the cast for the new movie I was like well now I *HAVE* to. To be fair it was probably a stretch for me because I'm not a huge fan of full-on fantasy where you have to learn pretty much an entirely new language and lore to understand the story. Especially when the words of all the made-up people, planets, places, things, religions and so on are impossible to pronounce. So yeah it wasn't really a surprise when I was 200 pages in, bored and completely LOST lmao. Needless to say, I did not finish it
Favourite thing to cook/bake:
I'm really really into baking so this was a tough choice. My favourite comfort thing to bake is brownies because my recipe SLAPS, I can do it without even thinking and it's such a crowd pleaser. Otherwise, I love to do cakes/cupcakes where I get to experiment with different flavour combinations and it's an excuse to get the piping bag out and play with decorative techniques
Favourite craft to do in your free time:
I'm shite at the arty stuff so without being boring it's baking and writing
Most niche dislike:
The first thing that came to mind was slimy/slippery food textures but I don't feel like that's so niche. Otherwise maybe reality TV? Social expectations? Men with short hair? The texture of sugar paper? I'm neurodivergent the list can GO ON lmao
Do you have any sense of direction:
Ummm ish? Not so much in just *knowing* where I am or in which direction I'm facing/supposed to be going, but if I go somewhere once I can re-navigate around it real quick. We did a walking tour of Edinborough and I was able to get me and mum back to the city centre after having that tour being my first time there and I didn't go wrong sooo?? does walking count?
Tell us about your D&D character:
I've never played D&D but I've lowkey always wanted to. I've been told by my friend who plays I'm a Chaotic Neutral
absolutely no pressure tags if anyone is bored and wants to do something vaguely entertaining? @sgkophie @timetoracewrites @serialkillertbh @rge-nini @hnmaga-blog and anyone who sees this and wants to participate!!
