Fox, finding out that the Corrie Guards aren't getting a jedi general: "Wait, it's because we have the temple as a whole right?"
Palpatine: "Wait-"
Fox, already working on the shift rosters: "Shinies can guard the creche because babies belong together."
Palpatine: "That isn't-"
Fox: "Thorn can liaison with the Temple Guards, they like weapons."
Palpatine: "I didn't-"
Fox: "Hound and Grizzler will take the Halls of Healing, animal therapy is a thing."
Palpatine: "No-"
Fox: "And I get the Council because I deserve it."
Palpatine, muffled screaming.
The fistfights Fox is guaranteed to start with every single other High General's commander are just a bonus. A significant bonus. For Fox, at least.

for those prompts... 18 w ram though
of all the ones to catch you attention you had to pick this one??? sob
18– Write about your ship spending a peaceful moment together that they think might be their last.
The engines turn, the ship descends. Unoccupied, the cockpit beeps that the autoland procedure is underway.
The omnic before you hardly looks like the proud leader you've known him to be. Ramattra sits, hunched over, on one of the bay's benches. His shoulders are bare, his cowl wrapped up in his hands, the long tails coiled limply at his feet. Gold shines as he shifts the cloth, thumb stroking just below the symbol of the Iris.
You don't say anything as you approach. There's nothing to say; you're already landing. In a moment, the doors will open and... You sigh, cast the thought away. It's not here yet. Whatever happens, happens.
"A show of good faith." He says. His own words, though perhaps you think they were originally his friend's. It's all resolution, commitment. He's going to do this, even if every risk assessment he runs makes him want to take command of the ship back, to fly as far as he can and just- just-
"I know." You lay your head against his exposed upper arm. Your fingers thread between his.
There's many things he wants to say: he's sorry you'll pay for your involvement with him; Overwatch will be kinder to you than Talon; he'll negotiate your safety; do you regret this- any of this?; is he doing the right thing?; if he doesn't see you... He stops. He won't say any of that. Instead he turns, brings his other hand to your cheek and looks at you. He's memorized your face a hundred times, but here- here he catalogues everything he can see. Freckles, wrinkles, moles- every pore, every hair. If he doesn't see you again...
He leans forward and you meet him halfway, pressing your forehead against his array. He's warm, spooled up with anxiety.
Once, he heard when humans die they see their lives. Their organic brain rifles through memories, pulling files at random. And this, here. Your skin pressed against him, your eyelashes laid gently over your cheeks as you close your eyes. The low hum of the engines, of his own machinery, the gentle wind of your breathing.
"I love you." The words break the scene, but they make you smile. He doesn't focus on the trembling of your lips, on the wetness that gathers at the corners of your eyes.
Ramattra doesn't know what happens to Omnics as they die, doesn't know what errors he'll see.
He hopes it's you.

def gojo, but also toji and maybe y’all are like competing assassins who run into eachother sometimes
⟡ word count: ~700
⟡ a/n: your brain is so big
⟡ Based on this ask
Tumblr media
Your target is right ahead of you.
Just a few more feet, the two of you will be away from any wandering eyes and security cameras— and you’ll be in the clear to take him out with a single blow.
It’s an older gentleman— a local politician, you’ve been told, with connections to the black market. Made a few people working underground unhappy with some new laws passed. So you’ve been ordered to execute him.
You get jobs like this all the time. You don’t necessarily like what you do, but you don’t necessarily hate it either. It’s something that brings food to the table, allows you a roof over your head. Despite your unconventional career, it’s actually pretty stable, given your high success rate and gracious recommendations from satisfied clients.
Stable, as long as you’re the one actually doing the killing.
You blink once and suddenly your politician has a bullet going straight through his skull.
“You’ve gotta be faster than that, sweetheart.”
The politician’s body hits the floor with a dull thud. You hardly pay attention because all you hear is the rush of blood in your eardrums and all you can see is that annoying smirk on that stupid face of his.
Damn him.
You stomp towards Toji angrily, pointing an accusing finger into his (well-built) chest, “That was my target, you freak!”
“Was it? Well that’s too bad. Looks like you’ll have to pick up another job elsewhere,” he sneers. “Think you could make a pretty penny with those tits of yours.” He stares down at them pointedly. You feel your cheeks burn from humiliation.
“Oh fuck off, Fushiguro.”
“I’d much rather fuck you.”
Toji Fushiguro: a quick, money hungry, infamous assassin. Or, as you often call him— a pain in the ass. Your ass specifically, since he seems to have a tendency to sabotage all of your missions.
He’d argue that he simply has a penchant for pretty things, and you’re a high he has yet to come down from.
“You’re deplorable,” you spit, arms crossing over your chest. “A waste of space. Are you really so broke that you feel the need to steal someone else’s kill? Maybe you’re the one that needs to pick up a gig at the local strip club.”
Your words do nothing— they bounce off him as if he were a wall of solid steel. He might as well be. Nothing could ever penetrate Toji, physically and emotionally.
“So everyone can see the scratches you leave on my back?” He sneers, taking a step closer. He smells like sweat and cheap cologne. It’s intoxicating. “Dunno why you’re pretendin’ to hate me s’much with the way you’re creamin’ on my cock all the time.”
“Maybe because that’s the only redeeming quality you have,” you bite back. Toji merely chuckles, as if the venom spewing from your lips lacks virulence. And maybe it does.
“You’re pretty spunky today, baby. You know how much it turns me on when you put up a fight.”
You let out a growl, swinging your arm to punch him, but he’s gone from your sight before you even get the chance to land a blow. That’s the second time you’ve missed tonight.
He appears behind you before you can react.
Toji presses a kiss to the nape of your neck, relishing in the way you suppress a shiver as he leans down to his whisper in your ear, “Gotta be faster than that, sweetheart.”
You hate him. You remind yourself that every single time you see him.
“Bring that attitude with you tonight and see where that gets you,” he murmurs, allowing himself a rough nip at your jugular— a little taste of the inevitable. “You know where to find me.”
The words ring in your mind, each syllable being burned into your hippocampus with every passing second. You make quick work of delivering the corpse to your handler before you’re off to find a certain assassin.
Toji Fushiguro would ruin your life. Yet for some reason, you can’t find it in you to push him away when he calls.

I am not sure if omnics and humans can actually get married, but I like to think that Ramattra would want to make you his partner «officially». Maybe without the wedding, the papers etc, he would just silently kneel and slip a ring on your finger that he (of course) made himself, just for you. Oh, that’s why he was touching, holding, squeezing your hands more often lately - he was trying to figure out your size, you think. Later on you would notice little engraving on his finger, imitating the ring that humans wear and robots don’t. You are a family.
HIM SIZING YOUR RING HIMSELF...... ENGRAVING A RING ON HIS OWN HAND AAAAAAAAAH?????????????????
What I love so much about Ramattra is that... I think fairly soon after he acknowledges his feelings for you is he would realize you are everything. He's all or nothing, if you crack that shell you are a part of him and he would know so, so early on that you are reshaping his future just by existing... and as such he will have been thinking about this for so long, debating what he could do that wouldn't endanger you or himself, but something that was... meaningful.

cant believe i forgot about maleficent and her emo boytoy omg thank you for cleansing the timeline🫶
I am so pleased to bless the timeline with a fine vintage ship, come join me in savoring it. I checked out the novelization on a whim (commuting) and I was like, oh right! I forgot this movie and specifically this ship was made in a lab for my brain. So now I've rewatched the film and I'm lost in the sauce.
I love that Maleficent/Diaval is the story of two people accidentally raising a baby into a teenager together and the whole time Maleficent is oblivious (not her fault! she has bigger things going on!) while Diaval is like "that's my wife, she's terrifying. i love her. <3" Even when Aurora meets them properly as a 15 year old, Maleficent is Going Through It™ while Diaval is just so hype to finally introduce himself to his child.
Tumblr media
Pictured above: moments that really did a number on me. He raised this kid and now he gets to finally meet her properly and they're both so delighted by it while Maleficent watches from the corner like }:-(
I really feel like the most beautiful and unique part of it is the genuine backtalk; Diaval might start out subservient and he certainly maintains that position but as time goes on he proves himself perfectly willing to correct or backtalk Maleficent. He basically functions as a reminder of her heart and moral compass while she is recovering from her hurt (and subsequent revenge bender) and it's delightful to watch because you rarely see a position where a male character is so open and honest while the woman gets to have the delicious redemption arc. Maleficent is going through an enemies-to-godfamily relationship arc with Aurora while Diaval is patiently waiting for her to realize he's got heart eyes (AND for her to realize she does actually love Aurora, that's another great element, he realizes this LONG before Maleficent does and tries to gently nudge her over to that revelation). But also this:
Tumblr media
He really said "I am just pretending to be afraid of you; I know you won't hurt me even if you push me around" and he was right. What a lovely thing to be playing out as the B or maybe C-plot. There's enough insane drama happening, it's nice that there's something a little lighter and more steady in the background of the story.
Another thing I was musing on through the book and film -- as much as I adore found family and platonic love, it's nice to see a story where a victim of what is clearly coded as sexual assault and is at least intimate partner violence finds love again. I know Maleficent & Diaval isn't technically 'canon', but again, the film was juggling enough relationship arcs with Maleficent & Aurora and Maleficent & Stefan. It's okay, in my eyes, for the romance element to be subtext, when it's clearly still important and given some narrative space and weight.
Tumblr media
I had a more coherent thought but finally found a gif of just this moment (thank you, @raainstorms, you spoil us all) so instead you get this. I love it. Maleficent really said "go defend our kid who I haven't realized yet is our kid" and Diaval said "understood". Never proposed but nevertheless they've been married for years.
"Who fell first vs. who fell harder" is defunct. "Which one is the evil minion who adopted the baby on sight and who is the Evil Empress who had to slowly realize they love the baby" is the vintage yardstick everything else has to measure up to. I will read 100,000 fanfics of Maleficent only belatedly realizing that somewhere in the process of acquiring her goddaughter she also acquired a husband. Maybe she acquired the husband first, she certainly does not know. Diaval understands this and is okay with it, Aurora probably doesn't understand in the slightest how her godmother did not pick up on anything.
And the sequel! I realized after reading some other posts that I did NOT remember the sequel correctly because my memories are "fairy genocide and also Diaval and Maleficent are co-parenting". Apparently somewhere in there Maleficent is shoved into a love triangle with two men who are not her long-term boytoy/coparent/external moral compass, which is ridiculous, because the film ends with them attending their daughter's wedding in matching outfits.
Tumblr media
If Maleficent 3 (boo hiss at Disney, make something new, cowards) isn't about Aurora parent trapping them I am going to riot in the street.
TL;DR: My roommate described maleval as this post and I have not been able to shake it from my mind because it really, really fits:

the branch agere 🤲 give it right now
It’s a work in progress but here’s a snippet
Branch looked up at him, sadder than he’d been in the last day or so that he’d magically become a baby.
“I’m so glad you came back,” he said, practically launching himself into a hug.
JD stood stock still for a moment, too stunned to hug back, but Branch didn’t let go.
“I was so scared,” he continued, “you were so angry the other night, and you left, a-and then Sprucie, and Clay, and,” he sniffled, “and Floyd,” he added miserably, “y-you all l-left. I was scared you weren’t coming back.”
Oh. That funny twisting feeling in his chest was not something he was excited to feel.
“I’m sorry for ruining the show,” he sniffled, backing off the hug to look up at him with big, teary eyes. “I’m really really sorry Johnny.”

We all know Dylan has his cat Schrödinger, do any you think any of the other counselors have pets, either pre-canon or in the future? What kind do you envision for each of them? (I feel like surely Laura the pre-veterinary student would have some critters at least!)
ooh this is a good ask, thank you!
I love pets, so this might be more biased towards having them than not.
Laura: She always had pets, that's a big reason she wanted to go into veterinary medicine. I can see her having a hamster or pet rats in undergrad. When she gets into vet school, she adopts two of the teaching dogs when they retire. By the time she's a full veterinarian, there are like 3 rabbits, two cats, and two dogs in their house. How do they feed them all? Don't question it.
Max: Max grew up with little dogs, and not much else. He now has a small zoo with Laura, see above. His favourite is the big fluffy orange cat they adopted after finding him under their porch with no collar or microchip. They had to shave him down due to mats and then dressed him in little sweaters and Max fell in love.
Dylan: Dylan has Schrodinger, of course. I see him as 100% a cat guy. After the events of the Quarry, he fosters a pregnant cat for a shelter and names all the kittens after famous scientists to keep the theme (Einstein, Oppenheimer, Bohr, Franklin, Curie, etc). He keeps Oppy for himself <3
Ryan: I don't think he grew up with pets, and he wasn't sure if he really wanted any. I can see him inheriting a little Betta fish in a bowl from a roommate in art school, and he researches how to properly care for it. From there he gets into fishkeeping. It starts with that betta in a 3 gallon tank, then 5 gallons, then he gets a 40 breeder off like marketplace for $20 and he discovers live plants and tropical schooling fish. If he and Dylan get together, he spends too much time trying to keep the cats away from his tanks lol
Emma: I'm not sure what Emma would have. Maybe something like an Italian greyhound, it sits in the background of videos like a little derp. Or she ends up rescuing a bunch of mutts from the shelter.
Abi: I can see Abi having a bonded pair of rabbits! Or a medium sized dog like a Labrador Retriever. Something soft and friendly that can help her with her anxiety if she gets overwhelmed at home.
Kaitlyn: I love the idea of Kaitlyn having a big pittie or Rottweiler or Doberman, something with scary dog privilege but is really a big baby
Jacob: He gets a golden retriever because he is a golden retriever boyfriend.
Nick: I think he would have something more exotic, like an iguana or a cockatiel.

Saw you rb art of Rama with his hair up so… you sitting behind him and helping him making a ponytail, then tugging it just a little… and then starting to kiss his neck after he flinches and sighs🤭
fhjdssgd I always imagine his neck is so sensitive. All of his important wiring runs through that juncture at the base of his cranial plates, so much like a human's spine. The outer plating there is tough, sure, but the sensors there are... particularly sensitive.
And he's be so jumpy at the first tug- at the first kiss- it takes everything to relax, to surrender to the pleasure touch of your lips on his frame.

Hi, I'm genuinely curious why you have called Elsa "abusive sister"? What's your, as an Anna lover, main take on Elsa?
Context for my comment.
Realizing on a reread that you asked for an Elsa analysis and I kinda made it an Anna one. They're entwined, though -- it's hard to talk about one without the other, especially when the first question is why call Elsa abusive? The short answer is I was being very reductive in that post for the sake of brevity. The tag directly after is me saying in a quick, off-the-cuff way that Elsa's not wrong:
#see: Anna of Arendelle #suffering is good! #filial loyalty should trump logic! #dying for your abusive sister is good! #Elsa obviously has her own issues but from Anna’s pov?
Believe me when I say that I can go full Elsa apologist very easily. Send a second ask if you want to see that, actually, I do have a lot of Elsa Thoughts. The thing is, there's a ton of Elsa fans out there and Anna tends to get the short end of the stick, despite being - in my opinion - the better sister, and not for nothing, but I think Elsa would agree that Anna is a better sister.
The tragedy of Frozen is that Elsa isn't wrong to isolate herself and try to keep Anna safe, and Anna isn't wrong to sense her sister still wants to connect and try to make it happen. That's what makes it tragic. Anna's desperate attempt to reconnect at the party is what makes Elsa balk, and Elsa balking is what pushes Anna away into the arms of someone who isn't afraid to tell her she's wanted. (Of course, Hans isn't afraid because wanting her won't kill her the way Elsa is pretty sure wanting a sister will.) Anna coming back from a whirlwind of having fun - having a friend - for the first time in years and telling Elsa she wants to get married freaks Elsa out, because Elsa's about to lose her sister to some stranger! Elsa tries to get the situation under control the only way she knows, which is to get away from everyone and self-soothe, but Anna is fed up and presses the argument then and there, which sets Elsa off and reveals the depths of Elsa's problems.
But critically, Anna's not wrong, and she's not stupid.
A major theme of Anna's character is that nothing is explained to her, and she is mistreated as a result. We, the audience, understand why Elsa locks herself away. We, the audience, skip over literal years of isolation for Anna in a three-minute song. We, the audience, see Elsa's anxiety when alone or with her parents. Anna, on the other hand ... to pull from the musical, which I admittedly like more than the film:
ANNA: ... Truth is, I never knew why my parents ordered the gates shut, why the celebrations ended, or why Elsa stopped talking to me. All I ever knew was, I missed my sister. I spent years trying to figure out what I did. I begged to know, to understand, but all my parents would say is, it’s for the best.
Anna blames herself for the fact Elsa locked herself away, and Elsa does not, as far as we see in the story, disabuse Anna of that notion. Sure, you can argue it happens offscreen somewhere after the show, and I'd agree that the arc of Frozen means the girls are going to sit down and realize their parents kinda sucked and gave them both trauma, but that happens after. (Frozen 2 doesn't exist in my head. I don't hold with anything that doesn't admit their parents fucked up big time. The best you can say is they tried to help their daughter, and that is tragic too, that nobody was able to help them do it.)
From Elsa's point of view, she ran away and Anna followed - against Elsa's advice and orders. Elsa felt confident enough to let her sister in and talk about things -- and Elsa couldn't handle it. She shot Anna in the heart as a result, putting them exactly back where they were when they were kids and Elsa was the biggest danger to her sister. Elsa was right to be afraid of intimacy, she was right to protect Anna from herself. The biggest danger to Anna was always Elsa.
This verges into Hans apologism, but we're focused on the girls so stick with me: Elsa literally kills Anna in the story. Hans is a big asshole about this little, "If only there was someone out there who loved you," speech, but he didn't kill Anna. Elsa did. If Elsa hadn't shot Anna in the heart, Anna would not be dying now. If Hans was going to kill Anna, that would've been the place -- and instead he leaves her to die of the wound her sister gave her.
So how does Anna feel in that moment? Narratively, we focus on the fact Hans has been the biggest dick lately, so she's heartbroken by that, but I'd posit she's been let down by the two people she thought might want her: Elsa and Hans. At this point Anna was probably thinking she could get cured and maybe that she and Hans would fix this together.
Instead, her unending faith in her sister should have brought her to this conclusion: Elsa killed her, Hans refused to save her, and they've both abandoned her for dead. In the film, Elsa - by proxy - throws Anna off a cliff right after shooting her in the heart. She could not be more clear about locking Anna out. Hans locked her in, but all to the same effect: Elsa's curse is going to kill her.
Does it really matter why Elsa cursed her?
When I say Elsa is an abusive sister, I mean that from Anna's point of view, Elsa lashes out and hurts Anna because of her own pain. We, the audience, have the benefit of knowing why - but we, the audience, also aren't feeling our fingers freeze solid as our jaw locks up with ice, so maybe we're not getting the full effect there.
Frozen's magic system is simple: magic and emotion are the same thing. (Frozen 2 do not interact.) Elsa's powers are driven by emotion, and they can be driven to great heights or great lows. The tragedy is that she doesn't learn to channel positive emotions, so she only knows fear and anxiety, which spiral out of control as those emotions always do. That fear isn't irrational - she's afraid for her sister, she's afraid for her country, she's afraid to let people down - but it is damaging and uncontrollable.
It literally kills her sister.
Anna dies, not because she threw herself under the sword and got diced, but because she turns to ice. She dies because of Elsa's curse, which ironically saves her from being killed in a bloody way. In that moment, Elsa sees her worst fears come true: she killed her sister. In the musical, she sings:
Anna? Anna - no! This is what I feared, this is why I shut you out so long ago. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry ... Look at what I've done to you.
As she realizes this, the magic begins to undo itself, not because Elsa realized the depth of her fuck up but because Anna committed an act of true love. Anna is brought back to life miraculously by her own self-sacrifice because it was pure and selfless. Which is why my final tags were:
#the narrative posits that [Anna's] suffering was good #actually. #and wanting things for herself was Bad actually
Wanting Hans, the seeming first person to value her, was wrong. Throwing herself under the sword for the sister who ignored her until she murdered her was good. In a meta sense, Anna wanting something for herself was wrong, and being blindly loyal was good. She is literally rewarded by being brought back from the dead to be a continuing loyal companion to the woman who shot her in the heart.
At the end of the day, the fact Elsa feels terrible about this both makes no difference and makes all the difference in the world. Elsa has been awful to Anna, and her being able to recognize that is what makes their relationship so compelling. The fact Elsa is also abused is important; she was locked away from society just as much! While Anna was so neglected by their parents that she spoke to paintings, Elsa was being told to just get better, keep it inside and don't freak out. Like many abused people, when Elsa grows up, she doesn't know how to form a healthy relationship at first. Her first fumbling steps end in disaster, and as musical Elsa begs:
This is all so brand new Let me first learn to crawl Before I try to walk
On one hand, that doesn't matter, because Elsa did abuse Anna for a period of time, via neglect and outright harm, up to and including murder. On the other hand, it matters more than anything, because Elsa chooses love, chooses to reconnect, finds true regret and wants to be better. Anna forgives her, because she loves her.
It's what makes the bones of this story so tragic and compelling. The love is real and the hurt is real. The difference is that both sisters choose to move past it, and I can see there being a good ending where they repair their sisterly relationship.
But for the duration of the story, and the near-decade before? Anna was abused by everyone in her family, and Elsa has to take responsibility for that before they can begin to heal.

“I… Can’t do that.”
Ramattra says almost apologetically. You let out a defeated sigh, pressing your forehead to the cool metal of his shoulder. He never took his faceplate off, at least not in your presence. You shift yourself on his lap, his heavy hands on your thighs keeping you in place.
“Why?”
Ramattra goes quiet. He is afraid. He will scare you. You will find him disgusting. You will never just forget that he is a Ravager. The unpleasant memory of people pointing at him with disgusted eyes pops up in his HUD, he declines it immediately. You will be reminded of his inorganic form: how he’s unable to return your smile, to kiss you back, to say your name with that’s so dear to him with the lips he will never have. Not that this ceramic faceplate makes him less frightening, but he prefers to think that it does.
You look in the black slits on his faceplate. Ramattra takes a moment to admire you - he notices the way your pupils widen when you look at him. If he had a heart, it would skip a beat.
He sighs again and brings one of his hands to his head. You watch his palm grabbing the white ceramic, detaching it with a soft click.
Two grey optics, no, eyes… stare back at you. You are speechless, still not sure that you are not dreaming. His face, right in front of you. Two little red wires on each side his forehead, the pyramid of lights that glows even brighter the usual now that it’s exposed, all those little stitches… The feeling of his hair cords brushing your shoulder and his soft huff brings you back to reality: he turned his head away. And suddenly, you can’t stop smiling.
“Ramattra.”
You take his face in your hands, gently making him look at you again. Ramattra’s are no longer on your thighs, too busy fiddling the ends of your shirt.
You press a kiss to his forehead. “You are so, so beautiful,” Your lips land between his eyes. “So pretty,” Another kiss, where the upper part meets his jaw, where his lips would be.
“I love every part of you.”
Suddenly all you hear is the loud whirr of his inner workings. Ramattra immediately hides his face in your neck, the metal is surprisingly warm on your skin. Beloved hands wrap around you, cradling your body in a desperate embrace. Ramattra hopes you don’t feel him shaking, not that it matters now.
He finally found his peace.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH?????????????????????
i love him dispelling the memory and turning away and ;_;

i was just re-listening to episode 47 where Noel discusses her adoration of mimes which reminded me of the time in high school when i had to take a career aptitude test. it had a reading comprehension section, a math section, a writing section and a skills section. it took two hours to complete and when i submitted it and had a meeting with the examiner he told me that... the career i was best suited for... was a mime.
I can't believe a ghost is sending us asks from the gave after they were killed by their testing examiner.
RIP ghost listener. I hope you're miming it up out there in a great beyond.
