Haymitch tried so very hard to break the arena and make the Capitol look stupid, only for 95% of his efforts to get edited out. But Katniss sees the bit with the axe and concludes that Haymitch was punished for messing with the arena in a way he wasn't meant to.

Yes, it's hideous how Haymitch tried to send a message over and over again only for it to get erased. But the Capitol couldn't get all of it. There was still a little in there that they couldn't erase.

hey guys btw haymitch sent katniss and finnick bread from district 4 when they were grieving mags in catching fire just like mags sent haymitch and maysilee ham hock soup from district 12 when they were grieving.

The fact that Madge even ends up with the mockingjay pin that she gives to Katniss MEANS that Merrilee grieved so much that she went out of her way to find and keep the matching gold pendants her and her sister HATED. it was something that connected her to Maysilee and she couldn’t bare to lose another part of her sister. It then became so special that she passed it down like heirloom to her niece. Ohhhh the sisterly love kills me

Can you imagine that fiddler in Mockingjay playing all the songs. They danced for hours. Every single song he could. Finally playing to his hearts content. Trying to remember each and every song for each and every member of the covey that died that was killed.
