Imagine this. The stadtwatch finds a tunnel underground somewhere in Ketterdam. They're like "Wtf is this doing here", climb in and follow the tunnel, thinking it's leading them to an underground crime syndicate or something, only to find Kaz freaking Brekker at the end of it with a shovel in his hand. They just stare at him for a moment and he stares back until he eventually says "Leave" with his appalled, scratchy ass voice as if they just broke into his living room and invaded his privacy. The stadtwatch officers are entirely confused and unsure how to handle this situation, so they just awkwardly retreat, one of them even mumbles a "Sorry".

Kaz turns back to his work shaking his head, being all like "The NERVE of some people"

I've been reading reading fanficition for one year (I started reading fanficiton in late April), so I thought I'd collect my word count and fic count by looking through my history, and here's my stats:

I've read: 525 fics

I've read: 12,739,506 words

in 1 year

Here's a fun fact about me: I've only read six of crows fanficiton about one couple, which is Kaz Brekker + Inej Ghafa and their friends, aka the rest of the crows, its just usually kanej centered.

So I've read over 12 MILLION words of the same two people falling in love again and again, for almost exactly 1 year and believe me I do not plan to stop

Edit: my pick is Kanej if you're curious. You can have ships like Kanthony or Locklyle, which are lovely and beautiful, don't get me wrong, but at least they can touch each other. Kaz and Inej can't even touch each other, they're almost always at a distance, expressing love through extremely intense eye contact and acts of service. Two people who want to be together but can't due to severe trauma, there is nothing more heartbreaking than that.

The Crows’ Sibling Alignment

this is going to be ramble-y and probably only make half-sense but here we go.

Matthias is an eldest sibling. It’s canon, it’s obvious. He holds the weight of the world on his shoulders trying to be responsible in the group of people he’s been given.

Nina is a middle sibling with younger sibling traits. She had to fight for positive attention in the Little Palace, and learned that negative attention is still attention.

Inej is a youngest sibling. Ignoring the show, and taking a guess about Suli culture, I’d say she grew up around her cousins and they were all sort of raised together. Although she may not have any biological siblings, she was always the baby.

Kaz is a youngest sibling. No one else could have that much audacity.

Jesper is an only child with eldest sibling traits. Going from golden child to family disappointment is a pipeline 90% of eldest children have to go through. (Myself included). He puts a lot of pressure on himself, and wants to be good for his Da but he struggles.

Wylan is an only child. It’s canon, it’s obvious. But not only is he an only child, he’s a homeschooled only child.

Kids: But they are good ones, aren't they?

Me (wondering hard if my kids are old enough to understand what is a morally grey character): Yep, they are good.

No mourners, no funerals. Another way of saying good luck. But it was something more. A dark wink to the fact that there would be no expensive burials for people like them, no marble markers to remember their names, no wreaths of myrtle and rose.

on the one hand i hate that freddy carter has blue eyes because in the books inej spends so much time describing the exact shade of brown of his eyes, but on the other hand anytime they do a closeup of his face the blue eyes make it ten times more terrifying
