'When Calls the Heart' Season 11 Premiere Date Revealed (ET Online Exclusive)

When Calls the Heart is finally set to return! ET is exclusively revealing that season 11 of the Hallmark Channel series will premiere Sunday, April 7, at 9 p.m. ET. The 12-episode installment follows the shocking end to season 10, in which Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow) broke off her engagement to Lucas (Chris McNally) amid her developing feelings for Nathan (Kevin McGarry). As if that wasn't enough drama, the season finale revealed that Lucas, fresh off being elected governor, was in danger, as an unknown figure approached him.  The upcoming season, which will explore renewal and redemption, will follow Elizabeth as she gets a fresh start, complete with romance, challenges and new style. Elizabeth and Nathan's storyline will continue, as they'll navigate their growing romantic feelings while also leaning on each other amid parenting obstacles. Elsewhere, Lucas must confront his past in order to lead Hope Valley into the future, while Bill and Rosemary team up to unravel a mystery putting their entire community at risk.

Elizabeth + Nathan || "I don't think I was listening to my heart..."

I am READY for season 11 - that promo poster (internally screaming).

I was always a Nathan fan, don't get me wrong I didn't dislike Lucas but I saw Lucas as her old life; safety in the comfort of it from the beginning. Whereas Nathan was the unhappy ending with Jack/ unsafe path. I felt like Lucas could offer all these different possibilities (trips away to the city, literature etc) and comforts to Elizabeth which in the end would take her back to the world she left in season 1 and it was always going to be about if she wanted that for her future. So season 10 made sense to me (But I can understand why with season 9 giving no hint to this why Lucas fans feel let down in this writing - maybe it wasn't the initial plan - who knows)

It always interested me how when the triangle was happening Lucas did the grand gestures and "grand ideas" - love through gifts bought, making for beautiful scenes and visual "luxuries", spoiling Elizabeth as every woman should experience. However, Nathan could only offer his words and his actions, handmade gifts; in the end his honesty as a friend in wanting her to be happy.

I really can't wait to see how this relationship unfolds, this blended family dynamic will be great to see. I am curious to see if Allie will be happy or apprehensive as she was upset when Elizabeth chose Lucas so maybe she won't be so quick to soften.
