Dandelion Union Leaders stylization project is finally done!

Took longer than expected and it has been a ride, but I can’t say I didn’t have fun.

This piece was one of my early ventures into stylization and also one that showed me, even better, that stylizing can be freeing.

My favorites are probably Elrena and Strelitzia! Ones I’d like to re-draw most are Brain and Ventus!

Stylization of the KHUX crew is finally finished!

Took longer than expected, but I also wen back to re-do lines I did previously - simply because I wanted to make them thinner - so that they would all fit in together

It has been a ride, but I can’t say I didn’t have fun.

This piece was one of my early ventures into stylization and also one that showed me, even better, that stylizing can be freeing. I tend to end up with a very narrow focus when I’m drawing - getting frustrated with anatomy or perspective or some other detail that just ‘doesn’t look right!’ so I keep re-drawing and fixing.

With this I can let go of my ridiculous need for realism in a 2D medium!

My favorites are probably Elrena and Strelitzia! Ones I’d like to re-draw most are Brain and Ventus!

All in all I am satisfied, especially given how long of a pause I had between drawings. The final product is satisfying, that’s all I can ask for. :D

(Note: Just like in canon, Ven is not aware that he is a fake Union Leader. The others, however, are fully aware of that. What they are not aware of is that everyone besides Ephemer is a faker, leading to them having this dynamic:)

sorry but if we’re bringing back the ‘sora is player3’ theory we NEED to acknowledge the insane implications of that. player2 raised xehanort as a baby. xehanort and sora fought each other. i think someone mentioned maybe player2 didn’t initially remember their old life but it came back to them later? if this idea is true then maybe once again sora wouldn’t have known who he was but it might happen to him later in life. that would mess him up absolutely horribly

I like to imagine that after the events of Union Cross, Ephemer got really into art. And with those newfound skills of his, he painted a large portrait of his old fellow Union leaders.

...Along with a smaller portrait of Player, to be hung near where he works. (People have seen their beloved founder start talking to it, but nobody had the heart to ask who they were.)

Bonus: There's a special grave in the Scala ad Caelum graveyard with the Player's name on it. It always has flowers.

How do you plan on making it up to us, Number Five?

Minus MoM’s computers, all the tech in Daybreak Town is like 1920s (edit: correction 1940s) esque (is that spelled right? Autocorrect isn’t helping me lol) so I like to imagine that the only NUL who really knows how computers work is Brain. Like he found the control room and actually took the time to press every button and figure out how the hell to use it. Whereas the others know they’re there and have a vague-ish knowledge of them but mostly just leave the computer stuff to Brain.

So later on when he’s comparing what’ll happen to the Dandelions to a computer in sleep mode the other NULs are just like nodding their heads like, “sure Brain, whatever that means”.
