Tumblr media
2 weeks went by and today is the day that we are able to finally see each other again, because it is the day our our trip to Ibiza. I'm super thrilled for this trip because I haven't been abroad in such a long time and all of my trips have been with my family only, so going on this trip with friends only, is so exciting to me.
- "Hello?"
- "Hey Y/N, I've searched for you all around the airport but I cant find you. Where are you?" Harry says with a worried voice.
- "Chill Harry, I told you I was in the Starbucks. You even told me to get you drink remember? Why are you so worried and jumpy. Is everything okay?
- "You know what? I'm sorry for being anxiou- ah,  I see you. Let me hang up."
As I see Harry walk towards me, my eyes widened, my mouth fell to the ground. My heart started to beat really fast.
- "HARRY, ARE YOU OKAY? WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE?" I say as I hold his face, examining the bruise and scratches on his face.
Harry took my hands and put them down from his face. When he looked at me, I saw that he had fear and anger gleaming in his eyes. That's when I knew that this had something to do with Kimberly.
- "Kimberly, she did this to you didn't she? answer me now Harry. She did this to you didn't she?" I say with fury in my voice.
- "She's fucking crazy. I didn't tell you about this because I didn't want to see you like this. I didn't want to worry you."
- "What did she do?"
- "Kimberly is still living in my dorm."
- "WHAT? HARRY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I say with disappointment in my voice. I cant believe that Harry is still with that girl. I really don't know how to feel right now.
- "She wouldn't leave Y/N. The only time that we would talk is if we're arguing. I haven't slept in the same bed as her since the day I found out about her other boyfriend. She's just lingering around me and I hate it. I hate the sight of her." He says with a voice full of anger and hurt.
- "Okay, but how did you end up like this?"
- "She heard about our trip. She refused that I leave this country with you, so she did everything that she could. She threw my biology books at me and scratched my face so that I would be afraid to leave the house with a bruised face. She thought that having a battered face would stop me from being with you. She said if she cant be with me, then  nobody else can. I'm not the type to put my hands on anyone, so I didn't."
- "But Harry, why didn't you tell me? I would have been there for you"
- "I didn't tell you because it could have been dangerous for you. Kimberly really hates you and thinks that our breakup is your fault. Not to mention, it wouldn't be fair for me to ruin your mood because you have a lot on your plate. You have school, a job and your side hustle. This isn't fair to you"
- "Its not fair for me but its fair for you to get assaulted like this? Let's cancel this trip. I need to go to her. I'm going to deal with her. How dare she?" I say as I become irate, ready to leave the Starbucks.
- "Y/N, no. were already at the airport and our friends are going to be here soon, Tim just texted me. Besides, I'm looking forward for this trip because I wont be able to see Kimberly for the time being, a week of peace, quiet and fun. And most importantly, I'm looking forward to spending my time with you. Its okay Y/N, I know what I'm doing when it comes to Kimberly."
When he said that he was looking forward to spending time with me, I felt some type of way. He probably didn't mean it like that, but he made my heart flutter when he said that.
- "Fine. Do what you want" I say as I roll my eyes. out of nowhere, harry bends down to the level of my face, and slightly comes close to my face. Harry chuckles
-"Whoah!" I say as I'm shocked by how close we were from each other. My poor heart.....
- " Y/N?"
- "Uh y-yes? " I answered hesitantly and confused.
- " Do you trust me?" he says with a hopeful smile on his face, almost like he has it all planned it out.
- "I trust you" I respond with a smile spread across my face.
- "Good, now let's go and find the others. Come on!" Harry says with a slight chuckle and smile on his face.
a few moments later.
We finally met up with our friends it was so overwhelming since we haven't seen each other in a very long time. but super exciting and fun because we had really missed being in each other's presence. Andrea was there, she used to be my best friend but we fell out because she used to talk about me behind her back. She always seemed like I was her competition. anyways, It's a trip that was designed for us to have fun, so I ignored all the petty stuff she did to me and I greeted her since I didn't want it to be awkward between us.
It was finally time to board our plane and because Harry and I had booked our plane tickets together, we ended up getting seats that were close to each other. Whilst being on the plane, sitting next to Harry, I was still upset with what had happened to him. I was trying to ignore it but I felt guilty for wanting to have fun, even though Harry was clearly traumatised from what had occurred the previous night and on top of that, I was also worried that Andrea would do something petty to me on this trip. I was really tired from waking up early but I couldn't sleep because I was just I kept thinking about what Harry must have felt when Kimberly was violent towards him, so I just decided to look out the window, to distract myself. Then all of a sudden, I felt a weight on my shoulder, It was Harry's head on my shoulder.
He looked at me and said "Y/N, stop stressing and enjoy the trip. Okay? everything will be okay. Now sleep, I know how tired you are." with a smile on his face and then he closed his eyes to sleep, and so did I.
We finally land, and all of our friends are making fun of Harry and I because apparently we were holding each other whilst we slept. They kept saying that we kept this it a secret that we were a couple. I was so confused and in denial that Harry and I were holding each other in our sleep until kept saying that we were a couple, I was in denial because I didn't realise that we even did that in our sleep so i asked them if they had proof and they did, they took a picture of us whilst we were sleeping, we were really cuddling and holding hands. I felt like disappearing because it was so embarrassing, but Harry took it well and asked them to send the picture to him because he finds it "cute". I wanted to vomit, I was so red from the embarrassment but played it cool by laughing and as I was about to change the topic of the conversation but I got cut off.
- "You're all so excited about this like they're an actual couple. Harry actually has a girlfriend and her name is Kimberly." she scoffs.
- "Sorry, but you know Kimberly how?" Harry says defensively with a curious but angry face.
- "Oh my Gosh,Harry. Why are you so defensive?” Andrea laughs. "Well, she's a friend of a friend since you want to know so bad. Thats how I know her. Is it so wrong that i know her? is it a crime that I know her?"
- "It's not wrong to know her. I just wanted to know how you know her because she's not from where we grew up. So please stop trying to put words in my mouth Andrea. We're here for a good time, fix your attitude before you ruin the trip for us all." he says whilst trying to calm himself down.
- "Woah guys calm down. please. Harry, its okay. Ignore her please." I say whilst worried, because I can tell that Kimberly's name has become triggering to him.
- "Andrea back again with the bad vibes. Who invited you again?" Jake laughs, whilst slightly being irritated by Andrea. Jenica pulls Andrea away as she's the one that invited her.
- "Don't make me regret inviting you Andrea. Nobody wanted you here but I convinced everyone to bring you here because it's not nice to leave people out. Please don't ruin it for us, we haven't seen everyone in a long ass time. So keep your shit together"
- "DAMN, JENICA!" Louis shouts whilst laughing at Andrea and Jenica.
- "she's going to cause problems throughout this whole trip, isn't she?" Harry asks me.
- "ugh...yup" I replied in annoyance.
What will happen on their trip? stay tuned for the next chapter.

Boss Christian Yu x Writer Reader - angst, old feelings, exes, new love vs old love, drama(?)
Tumblr media
After slamming your laptop shut for the umpteenth time, you groaned in irritation and took the last sip of your wine.
Your dream job was to write articles for a magazine, specifically inspiring stories about everyday life situations. You disliked writing about new cafes and hotspots to visit in Seoul, South Korea on a hot summer day. Your boss, Christian Yu, was someone you despised.
You let out a sigh as you leaned back on your couch, feeling exhausted from working for long hours and staring at a bright screen. Despite the fatigue, you were able to enjoy the peacefulness of your apartment which was quietly enveloped by the sound of light rain tapping against the tall windows that offered a view of the brightly lit city at night. The cityscape was a sight to behold, with buildings and cars stretching out as far as the eye could see, and you found it captivating.
It felt surreal.
You struggled with the idea of writing this article for a while, but now, as it is almost 3 am, you just want to finish it and move on, without having to worry about it anymore.
You worked tirelessly on your article all night, only the clicking of your keyboard keeping you company. As the sky began to lighten just before 5 am, you finally completed your 12th and hopefully final draft. After sending it to your boss, you collapsed into your bed, exhausted.
—>
“Wow, you look like shit.”
“Shut up, Dabin,” you scowled while you pointed a pen at him, almost as if threatening to hurt him if he said another word. “I was up late working on an article.”
“Again?”
As you nodded your head, a yawn escaped your lips, but Dabin didn't seem too impressed. He was aware of your writing skills, and he knew that Ian, his best friend, also recognized your talent. Despite this, Ian never allowed you to demonstrate your best writing abilities.
It annoyed him.
“Do you want me to speak to...“
“No,” you cut him off knowing exactly what he was going to ask. It was his favourite question. “It’s fine.”
Dabin suspiciously leaned over you, face a lot closer than you were comfortable with, and stared into your eyes as if they had a different answer to the one you’d given him.
It made you laugh.
“I’m fine, don’t worry,” you genuinely smiled as you pushed his face away from yours.
The two of you discussed where to go for lunch and what you were in the mood for, which varied daily.
“Y/N, can I see you in my office?”
The sudden voice behind you caused you to drop the smile on your face. You quickly locked eyes with Dabin before shifting to see your boss standing behind you.
Ian didn't give you time to respond to his question since he was already on his way back to his office. His strides were long and swift as you hurriedly followed behind.
A sigh escaped your lips as you thought about all the terrible things he might say about the draft you sent just a few hours ago.
Christian's office exuded a sense of sophistication and elegance with its predominantly black theme. The black furniture and décor complemented the black walls, creating a sleek and modern atmosphere. The aesthetic aligned perfectly with Christian's personal style, which is characterized by his sharp black suits, crisp white shirts, and multiple decorated tattoos. Overall, the office was a reflection of Christian's impeccable taste and attention to detail.
There’s no denying that he was a handsome man.
“Do you enjoy working here?”
His voice was firm and almost intimidating, but it was nothing that you weren't accustomed to.
“Ye—“
“Answer me honestly,” he interrupted.
An exasperated sigh escaped your lips as he once again failed to listen.
It was annoying.
You gazed out of the window, avoiding eye contact as the rain poured heavily over the city. It was ironic that you had just written an article on what to do on a hot summer day.
“Y/N—“
"Ian," you sighed, interrupting him as he had interrupted you earlier. "I don't hate working here, and I want you to know that. I genuinely enjoy the people and the work that I do. But it feels like you never give me a fair chance to show you how good I am, or how much I love being here."
As you stood up, your eyes met Christian's dark and mysterious ones. You never really understood him, as he always kept his distance. Even when you were dating, he never let you get too close.
His eyes reminded you of the heartbreak you felt when he told you he needed to focus on work and being a boss. There was no sadness or remorse in his expression. He was emotionless.
You subconsciously took a step back as he took one towards you, both caught off guard. You were afraid of falling for him again, especially after the pain he had caused you.
“I think maybe I should find another company to write for.”
“No.”
“Ian—“
“Y/N,” his voice was stern. Cold. “I said no.”
A deep chuckle reverberated in his office. You stepped back and crossed your arms, "It's not up to you. I can do what I want."
He knew you were right, but he didn't want you to leave. He had already given you up once.
Here's a clearer version of the text:
"Will you stay if I let you write your own story?" he asked, trying to offer a bribe.
"Why?" you questioned him, catching him off guard. He had hoped that you would just say yes and leave it at that.
There was an uncomfortable silence as he stood his ground, looking at you intently, but he didn't offer an explanation.
He was being stubborn.
After a while, you looked away from him and said, "I'll stay. See you around, Mr. Yu."
Christian watched as you left his office. He let you walk away.
Again.
—>
It was another late night in the office. Ian had finally given you the green light to write your own story - something exciting, new, and inspiring. However, you were struggling to come up with an idea. You didn't have any unique experiences to discuss, except for your own heartache and the pain you had gone through, along with the emotions you had felt.
It had been more than a year since Ian had broken up with you. Now, you were in a much better place emotionally, and seeing him around the office didn't hurt as much as it did when the wound was still fresh.
Your experience of getting over a breakup could serve as a source of inspiration for many individuals out there who may be going through the same thing. You could write about how you coped with the situation and be honest in your narrative. The idea is to make your readers relate to you and feel that they are not alone in the world and that going through a breakup is a common experience that everyone faces at least once in their lifetime.
As you were lost in thought, a voice interrupted you, asking "How are you getting on?"
You glanced up to see Dabin holding a box of fried chicken and a pack of four beers. You couldn't help but smile as your stomach growled in hunger. You were grateful for your best friend's arrival.
"Thank god for you," you exclaimed, feeling much better now. "I'm starving."
The two of you were quick to get settled into the couches in the staff room; away from computers and cubicles and depressing grey walls.
"This is delicious," you moaned as you took another bite.
Dabin laughed in return, "I'm glad I can help during times like this."
Dabin was a really good friend.
"So, how's your writing coming along?" He asked.
"Fine."
Nodding his head, he asked, "what's it about?"
You took a sip of your drink before turning to face Dabin. It was obvious what he was doing.
"You can let Ian know the article's content will be revealed in my final draft, okay?"
"How did you know I was asking for him?"
You lay back on the couch, sighing as your eyes stared at the plain white ceiling. Dabin followed suit, resting his shoulder neatly against yours.
It was quiet.
There was nobody else in the building except for the two of you. Normally, nobody stayed back late. However, you enjoyed staying late because of the peaceful and quiet atmosphere. The lights would turn off automatically on a timer, leaving you with a breath-taking view of Seoul from above.
Being on the top floor definitely had its perks.
"He didn't want to end things with you, but he had no choice. He misses you," Dabin finally spoke.
You avoided eye contact and stated, "Everyone has a choice."
You were in a three-year relationship with Ian before he broke up with you. As time went on, your love for him grew stronger and you were convinced that he was the one.
But no.
On a frigid winter night, he arrived at your doorstep and broke up with you. Declaring that his work was his priority and that he wanted to become a boss his father could be proud of.
So, he married his job instead.
It was a horrible experience that left you feeling utterly shattered. A heavy weight seemed to sit on your chest, and no matter what you did, you couldn't shake off the feeling. You cried yourself to sleep that night, and dealing with the aftermath was so difficult that you had to take a month off work. Seeing him again was too much to bear after feeling so broken.
"I thought he was the one, Dabin," you expressed. "But after he broke up with me, I realized that I didn't really know him. He never let me get close to him, and he never opened up to me. I was blindly in love."
Dabin looked at you with sad eyes; it was the first time you had openly talked about your breakup.
->
Saturdays were your favourite day of the week. You could sleep in as long as your stomach allowed before getting too hungry. You didn't have anything on your to-do list. It was a day just for you to relax, unwind, and not think about anything or anyone for that matter.
However, on this particular Saturday, instead of being awakened by hunger, you were awakened by the doorbell.
You were confused as to who was turning up at your apartment this early on a Saturday. You quickly got out of bed, grabbed your slippers and dressing gown and headed to the door.
You didn't think to look through the peephole before opening the door.
"Hey."
His voice was deep.
"What are you doing here?" You blurted out before thinking.
Ian.
He ran his hand through his hair.
Then sighed. Deeply.
"Can we talk?"
You stared at him, completely gobsmacked. What the hell was he doing here?
"Ian, please go home," you declared, your voice quavering. "I don't want to talk to you right now."
He didn't allow you to close the door as he barged in and let it slam shut behind him.
"Please," he begged.
You witnessed an unusual display of emotion in his gaze, something completely foreign to you in all the time you'd known him.
This was new, and you were in shock. It was so unlike him to do this.
"There's nothing to talk about," you declared, finally breaking the silence.
Ian sighed again, except this time, he sounded annoyed, "just give me five minutes of your time. Please."
Upon not wanting to argue, you silently nodded and sat on your couch, wondering what he wanted to discuss.
"Dabin spoke to me," he began. "He told me about how I made you feel."
"Okay? And?"
"Do you hate me?"
You scoffed. Was he serious? This is what he wanted to ask you?
"No, Ian. I don't hate you," you said honestly. "But I don't like you either."
He rolled his eyes, and you smiled smugly.
"Ian, please get to the point," you stated, your annoyance palpable. He was ruining your favourite day of the week.
"If I proposed, would you have married me?" Ian asked as he sat next to you on the couch.
The shock in your eyes didn't go unnoticed.
You let out a nervous chuckle and moved away from him. He was sitting too close to you, which made you feel uneasy. It had been a year since the two of you had been this close to each other, and you didn't like it.
"Ian, we're not a good match-"
"But would you have said yes?"
As you felt your heart beating harder against your chest, you began to feel nauseous and the sensation of wanting to throw up arose.
Why was he asking you this all of a sudden?
"Y/N, would you have said-"
"Shut up!" you snapped, taking a few steps back as you stood up. "You always have to have your own way, win arguments- even need to get the last word in. God forbid anyone says anything to you."
You were pacing the room, but he was listening for once.
He was actually listening.
"We were together for three years, I loved you unconditionally and fell more in love with you every day. It wasn't until you broke up with me that I realised I'd been dating a fucking rock."
"Y/N, I'm so sorry" he apologised as he stood up.
"Save it," you sighed.
His eyes searched yours, seeking answers, searching for any sign of love.
"I would have said yes. Of course, I would've" you told him honestly. His lips curved into a smile, but faltered when you added, "but not now."
He didn't say anything except, 'sorry' before leaving, making sure to slam the door shut behind him. Except this time, he was the one who was walking away and you were the one who let him.
That night you decided to quit your job, there was no way that it was healthy for either of you to go on like this.
He didn't question it this time or stop you, he didn't even look at you. Your words had hurt him just like he'd hurt you. This wasn't what you wanted, but realistically what else could you do?
It just wasn't written in pages for you two to be together.
And maybe, that was okay.

A/N Pls go easy on me with this, its my first time writing since being on my long ass hiatus, but I hope you still enjoyed <3 xoxo

Sweet Silence
Summary: Dabin makes a bet with his friends without thinking about the consequences and gets into trouble.
Or boys will be boys, Ugh.
Bet!AU | M.List | Word Count: 1.6k
DPR Live x Reader: Angst, fluff, miscommunication, your friends with other khh artists. drama. arguments, men are dumb!
A/N sorry, it's on the shorter side but please enjoy!
Tumblr media
How it started;
"If you accept this bet, y/n might not speak to you ever again."
Dabin rolled his eyes.
"He knew you better than anyone, and he believed that you wouldn't break up with him over a bet. Especially since he would explain everything in detail once the bet was over and he had won, proving those guys wrong.
“Okay, you have three days to complete this whole game, so that means no sleeping and no texting your girlfriend,” Ian smirked as he explained the rules to Dabin. “We’ll come into your flat to make sure you’re fed and hydrated, so you don’t die.”
Your boyfriend had a smile on his face, feeling thrilled at the idea of proving his friends wrong and winning the bet. However, he got too caught up in the excitement and forgot to inform you beforehand that he would be gone for three days while the dare was taking place.
“Bring it on, guys!”
He didn’t think that the outcome, in the end, would be so… terrifying.
How it went;
“You know what’s weird?” you said as you grabbed a drink out of your fridge. “I haven’t heard from Dabin since last night.”
Hoody sat comfortably on the floor, intently flipping through the pages of a fashion magazine. Meanwhile, Sohee carefully painted her nails with a deep and rich shade of red.
“He’s probably just hanging out with the guys,” one of them answered.
The other simply hummed in agreement.
"Oh, that's a nice colour," you complimented Sohee before sitting next to her on the couch, being careful not to disturb her. "You're probably right, but, weirdly, he's taking so long to text me."
Hoody closed her magazine over, before grabbing her drink off the coffee table, “you know what you need?” She suggested after taking a sip. “A girls night with us! We can invite Lee Hi and DeVita too.”
You let out a sigh, the idea did sound like fun. It had been a while since you all hung out together and had a good time. Besides, maybe Dabin needed a break with his friends, just like you needed one with yours.
“Okay,” you agreed. “Let’s do it, but we’re staying in.”
Sohee laughed as she closed the nail polish bottle, “we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The evening was a relaxing and enjoyable one, filled with laughter, good company, and indulgences like wine, face masks, and friendly chatter about relationships. We rearranged the furniture to create a cosy space on the floor, where we could lounge on blankets and pillows and fully unwind.
The thought of your boyfriend not messaging you all day, even after you texted him to ask how he was, was unsettling. It was unlike him to go this long without responding, even when he was with his friends. It just didn't make sense to you.
Was he mad at you? Did you do something wrong?
A sigh escaped your lips as you finished your drink. Hoody was the only one who stayed after everyone went home. It had been a lovely night, full of laughter and endless fun, but now you were getting annoyed.
You sent another text.
An hour later, still no response.
It was almost 3 am and Hoody was sitting on the couch, scrolling through channels, hoping to find something interesting to watch on TV. As time passed, you seemed to become more and more irritated, letting out a sigh which Hoody took as a sign to turn off the TV and encourage you to go to bed.
While watching Hoody remove her makeup, you asked, "Do you think he's breaking up with me?" as you sat on the edge of the bathtub.
“That boy is completely in love with you,” she scolded, looking at you through the mirror. “Don’t be stupid.”
You laughed at the scowl on her face, “Sorry, it’s just unlike him, you know?”
She nodded. “If he doesn’t text or call you tomorrow, you can be as angry as you want, and I’ll be just as angry with you. Deal?”
“Deal!”
->
After Dabin failed to message or call the next day, you and Hoody sulked and complained about inconsiderate men. She was just as angry as you, she’d promised she would be the night before, you were so thankful for having a friend like her.
“How can you go two days without messaging the love of your life?” She shouted, throwing popcorn at the TV as the protagonists kissed in the rain. “I’m so pissed off right now.”
You laughed at her sudden outburst, “It’s okay, I've decided to give him the silent treatment until he apologises.”
Hoody seemed to like your idea, and let you know she was only a call away if you needed her before she left as she had work the next day.
Now, it was just you and your thoughts.
The day had passed by quickly, as it always did when you were hanging out with your friends. However, now you’d found yourself unsure of what to do. You couldn't even talk to Dabin, as he wasn't talking to you in the first place. Besides, you didn't want to speak to him until he apologised.
A sigh parted your lips as you stared at the multiple messages you’d sent the night before, how annoying, you thought.
You started typing out a message, fingers moving swiftly across the keyboard as you let your thoughts pour out, you wanted him to know how he made you feel and what you were going to do about it before muting his messages and tossing your phone to the side.
On the other hand:
Dabin was clueless about the impact of his actions on your feelings. He was engrossed in his video games and consuming the food that his buddies had brought for him. He convinced himself that he only had to endure one more day, and then he would see you and clarify how he had won the bet.
However, the happiness he had been feeling vanished as quickly as it had come when he saw your recent message. The message read, 'I'm not sure why you're not talking to me, but I know I haven't done anything wrong to deserve this. If this is your way of breaking up with me, then so be it. But at least say something instead of going cold.'
As he tried to call you, the call went straight through to voicemail, and his heart fell through his stomach. You thought he was breaking up with you, and he was now panicking. He couldn't bear the thought of never speaking to you again, and he realised that Ian was right.
This bet was not a good idea.
He moved quickly, leaving a mess behind as he shoved his shoes on and grabbed his keys to make his way over to your place. The bet wasn't worth winning if it meant losing you. This whole situation was stupid to begin with.
He arrived at your apartment just before midnight, panting heavily as he knocked on the door, praying for you to answer.
When you opened the door, you appeared annoyed. Your expression grew even more irritated when you saw him standing there. He watched as you crossed your arms and visibly became smaller under your glare.
“What do you want?” You argued.
He quickly entered the room and closed the door behind him, saying, "I'm here to apologise. It's not what you think."
You stepped back as he tried to reach out to you. "What is it then?" you asked.
“It was a stupid bet–”
"Excuse me, what?!" you interrupted, feeling angrier.
"It was Ian's idea. He provoked me by saying that I couldn't go three days without texting you or sleeping, and I wanted to prove him wrong," he rambled. "I know it was stupid, and I'm so sorry for putting you through this."
"I can't believe this! Did you really put me through all of this emotional turmoil just for a bet?" You unfolded your arms and settled your hands on your hips, staring at your partner in disbelief. You let out a deep sigh and collapsed onto the couch, feeling defeated. "I honestly thought you were going to break up with me."
Dabin knelt in front of you, taking your hands into his. He kissed the back of each hand and gazed deeply into your eyes. "I am so sorry for what I did," he spoke in a soft tone. "But I promise you, I'm not breaking up with you. Ever! I want to marry you one day. I'm so in love with you."
He could tell you were still upset with him, but the faint smile appearing on your lips told him that the two of you were going to be okay.
“You’ve got a lot of making up to do,” you told him to which he nodded in agreement. “Also, Ian is in a lot, and I mean, a lot of trouble.”
Dabin laughed at the mischievous grin on your face before jumping onto the couch next to you and pulling you into his arms, “god, I missed you.”
How it ended:
“So, you failed,” Ian smirked.
Dabin shrugged as you walked into the room where he and Ian were sitting, then smiled at you.
“Ian, you are in a lot of trouble,” you said, watching the smirk fall off his lips. “I’m not sure why you’re sitting there so smugly.”
Ian appeared visibly frightened as he contemplated the severity of his situation.
Let's just say your friends had a lot to say.

'Holy come here', whispered Harry in vain as the cute puppy made its way to you. Holly hopped on your lap during your photoshop making you grin.
'Yes perfect!' complimented the photographer as she snapped multiple pictures, taking advantage of the fact that Holly was posing ever snap she heard.
Harry froze not knowing what to do, he wanted to go to you and bring Holly back but he could only focus on you. From your round brown eyes to your curly hair, to the dimples that appeared every time you would smile. How could someone be so… beautiful? Before he even realised he was smiling at the sight of his cute puppy playing with a cute girl.
𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘸?
‘Harry!’ Woodie shouted, getting Harry’s attention and he saw the others waving at him waiting to start the shoot.
‘𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭, 𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘵, 𝘪𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘢𝘺.’ Harry thought. He jogged towards the other members, after looking back at you one more time.
‘Okay and… we’re done!’ everyone started clapping while you stood up and thanked everyone for their hard work. Then you crouched down to Holly’s eye level grinning at her cute little outfit.
‘Now who do you belong to pretty baby?’ she tilted her head to the side making you melt at her cuteness. You grabbed her into your arms, looking around to see if there’s anyone looking for her. The other artists were busy doing their own shoots so you decided to look for the owner yourself. You asked around to see if anyone knew whose puppy it was but no one seemed to have a clue.
‘I think she’s from someone of H1ghr Music’ a member of staff told you and you thanked them, happy to see that your long walk was coming to an end. At the end of the hallway, you saw a sign saying ‘H1ghr Music’ and looked down to smile at Holly to find her fast asleep. You knocked on the door and peeped your head first to find everyone staring at you.
‘Hi, sorry to bother you guys but I think I have something that belongs to one of you.’ You said nervously, fully entering the room and their looks then fell onto Holly. A guy with a mustache tapped on the shoulder of another guy with a orange beanie, making him turn around. He was holding a bag of gummy bears, one already entering his mouth when his eyes locked with yours slightly widening as if he was surprised to see you. His eyes quickly fell onto his puppy, who looked way too comfortable on your arms. Harry stood up quickly making his way to you with a little awkward smile. You also started walking his way, not really knowing how to act.
‘Hum hey thank you for bringing Holly back, she ran away out of nowhere and found you and even disrupted your photoshoot. I didn’t want to get in the way of it, so I just left in the hopes that she would come back but it seems like she had other plans.’ Harry quickly said making you smile at how flustered he looked.
‘It’s fine, Holly made the pictures even better so I’m the one who should be thanking you…’
‘Ph-1 or you can call him Harry since he finds you cute’ you were interrupted by the moustache guy as he carefully took Holly away from your arms and winked at you.
‘Minsik I swear if you don’t shut your mouth’ Harry hissed, making you giggle at their interaction.
‘Then thank you Harry, I hope I didn’t worry you much’ you say apologetic.
‘Why would you make Harry worry y/n-noona?’ says someone with super long hair wrapping his arm around you.
You look to see who’s talking to you so casually to realise that it's your favourite maknae.
‘Haonnnnieee’ you say in a baby voice, turning to pinch his cheeks that no longer had the baby fat that you remember.

Hunting for Gems
episode 5 part 2
ash island x reader
prev |
When Ash Island is forced to participate as a producer for the latest season of Show Me the Money, he knows it won’t be easy. But when his partner is you, a rising producer from H1GHR, maybe it won’t be as bad as he thought.
--------------------------
Show Me the Money X Episode 5 - Producer Live Performances
The moment you've all been waiting for! Our producers have been rehearsing non-stop for their live performances.
This is their last chance to appeal to the contestants before team selections begin. Since our producers are usually the ones doing the judging, tonight they will be the judged! Before leaving tonight, all audience members will rank the producers from best to worst performance. Higher ranking producer teams will receive a special advantage in the next round!
What are your expectations coming into this round?
Saf: Honestly, they're not high. I'm not too well-known as a producer yet, so I'm not sure we'll be getting many votes. The other producers are legends, household names. I'd probably vote for them, too. But we're not too worried about our placement.
Ash Island: If our team is good, they should be able to win with or without any advantages. What matters is we're performing and putting out music that we like.
Saf: Yeah, we're really excited for everyone to see what we've been working on.
-----
As you and Ash take your spots on the darkened stage, you take a deep breath. This is your first time singing for such a large crowd. And it's going to air on national television. No big deal.
You close your eyes and calm your shaky hands. This is what you've been working toward for weeks. It's just you and these songs you know inside and out.
You open your eyes, and the music starts playing.
-----
Changmo, Hash Swan, and Leellamarz all sit in slack-jawed silence as the final notes play.
"I know," Ash says with a smug smile. "She's good right?"
"This was her first time singing?" Leella asks in bewilderment.
"Yeah, you would not believe how hard I had to work to convince her to do this," Ash tells him.
"And you've been hiding her from me this whole time?" Changmo exclaims. "She would've been perfect for my last single!"
Ash frowns, not liking the thought of your first song being with Changmo instead him. "She would've-"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Hash Swan interrupts, leaning toward the screen. "What is that?"
-----
Still on the adrenaline rush from performing, you stretch your arms out to Ash for a hug as the crowd continues to cheer all around you.
Wrapping his arms around you, he leans his head in to whisper in your ear, struggling to be heard over the crowd.
When you throw your head back in laughter, you notice his arms tighten around you, not letting you get away from him just yet.
-----
"You ever see him smile like that before?"
"Nope."
"Definitely not when he hugs me during a concert, that's for sure."
Ash just stares at them doubtfully as they talk about him like he's not even there. Until your laughter on screen catches his attention.
"Oh, yeah. He's got it bad."
-----
What did you say to Saf at the end of the performance?
Ash Island: I told her she did a great job, of course.
Saf: He also said maybe one day I'll be as good as him. Please, which one of us was getting all nervous when they put their arm around me during that last chorus?
-----
Thank you to all the producer teams for putting together such phenomenal performances! The results are in, and we will now reveal how the audience ranked our teams.
Ash Island: We don't really care about how we ranked against the other teams. We're satisfied with our own performance, and that's enough for me.
Saf: He says that but then secretly hopes to win. He'll go home and pout about it later.
"In fourth place, ranked last by our audience with a total of 52 points, we have..."
You close your eyes, bracing yourself to hear your team called.
Your eyes go wide as another team is called, and you look to Ash with surprise.
He scoffs, "Please, have some self-respect. You did way too good for us to rank fourth."
Your heart warms at his words. His face is all confidence as he reassures you.
The MC starts up again. "And in third, gathering 127 points, we have..."
You're not even nervous this time, since you're almost certain your name will be called.
And your jaw drops when it isn't. "We're in the top two?" you ask Ash in shock. You honestly can't believe it. You grasp his hand in yours as you wait for the next announcement.
"We will now reveal the second place team. Receiving 239 points, we have..."
You close your eyes and give Ash's hand a squeeze.
Contestant 1: It was almost unfair, letting Saf sing. I don't think anyone was expecting it.
Contestant 2: Ash Island was too good. His performance, his gestures, diction, flow just exude hip hop.
Contestant 3: That was a new song they performed wasn't it? I really liked it. I think the appeal of their team would be being able to make music like that with them.
-----
You allow yourself another leap of joy as you and Ash exit the Mnet building for the day. "I can't believe we won!"
"We didn't win," Ash reminds you. "We got second."
"We were in the top 2! That's a win to me," you defend.
Ash lets out a sigh but can't stop the smile from creeping into his expression. "Okay, you're right. Let's go eat to celebrate. On me," he offers.
Your eyebrows raise, "Right now?" Filming had run pretty long so it was already late at night.
"Yes, we've been on set all day. I'm starving. And you only performed to appease my begging, so it's my treat."
It had been a long day, and you should eat before heading home. "Alright, let's go," you agree.
Ash has a big grin on his face as he puts his arm around you and leads the way.

I still remember
Tumblr media
“Happy birthday, Jay”
You smiled as you handed over a small, navy box. It had taken you weeks of poring over hundreds of websites before you deemed an unassuming silver ring to be the perfect gift for your friend of 15 years.
“Y/N, thanks for coming!” Jay pulled you into a hug, his warm cologne wafting from his tattooed neck as you let yourself get swallowed by his embrace.
“Enjoy yourself tonight, ok?” Jay flashed you one of his cheeky smiles before he moved on to greet the other guests. I’ll try my best. You thought to yourself.
You felt awfully out of place, normally not one to spend a Friday night at a club. But you also couldn’t miss your best friend’s birthday party. Especially not after knowing how much effort he put into planning it. Your friends always joked that it was the one time you ever left your cave of a home to meet others.
The VIP section of the club was completely packed - so characteristic of Jay to invite every single person he knew. Sometimes you wondered how someone as outgoing as Jay managed stay friends with someone as introverted as you all these years. As you continued scanning and taking in the scene, your eyes stopped by a figure that was sitting at one of the tables. Your heart skipped a beat. The dimly lit table barely revealed anything about its sole occupant, but you knew instinctively who it was. As you let your eyes adjust to the darkness and slowly make out the features of his face, you felt a deep pang in your chest.
Sungwoo.
Of course he was here. The two of you had met through Jay  - how did this slip your mind? Were you so busy blocking out everything related to him that you totally looked past this? Sensing your gaze, Sungwoo looked up from the drink he was mindlessly swirling. The the two of you briefly met eyes across the club. Your heart was pounding so quickly that you could hear your hastened pulse in your ears. Even after a year of not seeing him, your eyes familiarly traced the contours of his face. He looked the same, which made it so much harder for you to accept that so much had changed between the two of you. You were first to drop your gaze, as you rushed over to the bar to order a drink.
*
“Drink! Drink! Drink!”
Sensing your somber demeanor that carried through in the brief moments Jay interacted with you, Jay continued to pour you endless shots. You were silently thankful for how Jay always seemed to keep tabs on you at these gatherings knowing your shy personality - even doing so at his own birthday party where he deserved to drink as if there was no tomorrow. And because you knew this was Jay’s way of looking out for you, you downed the shots without much hesitation, the bitter liquid burning your throat and helping you get closer to your goal of wanting to feel completely numb.
“I need a chaser” You muttered softly. As if by command, the guy standing next to you handed you his can of Pepsi. You take it, but instead of drinking it, stared at the can. The beads of condensation on the can swim down and feel wet against the palm of your hand.
“Is something wrong?”
The guy asked. The somber lighting of the club revealing a smattering of tattoos running down his neck. You thought you remember him introducing himself earlier to you as Jinyoung, but your memory of the earlier parts of the night start to get fuzzy as the alcohol begins to hit you.
“No, nothing.. it’s just that..”
“She doesn’t drink Pepsi. Hates the taste of it.”
A hand appeared by your side and pushed a can of Canada Dry towards you. You didn’t even have to look up to know who it was. It was a voice you recognized all too well.
“Why..”
“I still remember, Y/N”
“Sungwoo…”
“How could I forget?”
Sungwoo smiled bitterly. And in that moment, you realized. Something about the tone of his voice and the look on his face made you realize that it wasn’t just you. You had spent the past year desperately trying to move on from Sungwoo, but utterly failed to do so every time. You replayed your two years with Sungwoo over and over, trying to figure out where it had gone wrong. And you realized that Sungwoo had done the same.
“Well, enjoy your ginger ale. And try not to drink too much”
Sungwoo gave your shoulder a gentle squeeze as he disappeared into the crowd of bodies. Maybe one day you would be able to sit down and talk to him about everything. Tell him how much he’s hurt you and apologize for how you’ve hurt him. But you knew now wasn’t the time. It was all still too fresh.
*
I'm back!! I know it's been a hot min but I've been so busy with life. I've been really inspired to write lately though, so hopefully I can push out some more scenarios soon :-)

I open the door and poke my head inside the studio. I break into a smile when I see Ssam-D and Mokyo staring into the bright screen wordlessly while arranging some .
"Ooohhh, so serious," I tease as I walk in. The two turn to me and I hold up some iced coffee drinks, "want to spill this all over the mixing panel?"
Mokyo chuckles while Simon Dominic clicks his tongue, "ya, you really know how to drive Jay nuts."
I knit my brows as I hand them the beverages, "this has literally nothing to do with him, but okay."
"Ya, everything you do here has everything to do with him. He owns the floor you're standing on."
I narrow my eyes at him, "okay? What do you want me to do, levitate?"
Mokyo snorts at that as he gets his share and passes Ssam-D the other, "he's trying to be a wingman for Jay." He sips on his drink, "he came in a minute ago, thinking you were here, then played it off and left when you weren't."
"Right," Ssam-D agrees, sipping on his drink, "he's so stupid when he's around you. It was cute at first," Kiseok sighs, "now it's so annoying."
I purse my lips and shrug, "again... not sure what I'm supposed to do with that information."
Kiseok takes a big gulp then pulls the straw away from his lips, "what do you think of him anyway?"
"Wah," I shake my head and raise my hands, "I think he's Jay Park."
Mokyo makes a dramatic pained sound and places a hand on his left rib cage. I raise a brow at that and narrow my eyes. I proceed to shove him just as he's about to take a sip. He pulls his cup away and looks at me with wide eyes, "Ya! What would you did if this gets on the equipment?!"
I click my tongue and give him a look, "make Jay daddy pay for it, obviously."
Kiseok wheezes and cackles at that , nearly shooting out of his seat in amusement. I break into a chuckle as Mokyo snorts.
"But seriously, I don't you like him, even just a little bit?" Kiseok inquires.
I take a moment to respond, "I mean, we don't really talk much and I personally don't like guys who can't even admit they like me, you know."
Kiseok nods his head slowly at that. Mokyo agrees, "Fair."
The three of us brainstorm and talk about our ideas and vision for our collaboration. We've been going through stuff all day now and only just had a break. For a while, we take turns discussing our thoughts, then we begin to freestyle verses.
Having had a eureka moment, I am promptly told to go into the booth and record the tune we suddenly thought of.
I walk into the room, put the headphones on and practice the bars we got. I pull out my phone and go over the lyrics we made. I repeat it a couple times and do some spontaneous riffs.
"Wah!" I hear an exclaim.
I look outside the booth and see their looks of astonishment. Mokyo chimes in, "can you repeat that again?"
"This one?" I ask and proceed to repeat what I did last.
I am quickly praised and encouraged.
The minutes melt like seconds as I'm singing my heart out to this improv. I have only one side of the headphones against my ear and I close my eyes as I throw my head back and belt.
I nod each time I get a signal to repeat, redo, or tweak something but keep my eyes fixed on my phone, typing away the pointers I'm given.
By the time I'm done, I finally look out the booth and shape my hands into a heart. Only then do I notice Jay is outside smiling back at me with the other two in his label.
"Great job," Kiseok praises, raising a thumb, " I got chills when you did the riffs."
Mokyo agrees and so does Jay. I break into a laugh and shake my head, but nonetheless thank them.
I turn to Jay, who was already looking at me, "oh, you're here? When did you come in?"
"In the best moment, I think, when you were going over the end of the verse," he says with a grin.
"Oooh, I really like that part too."
Simon Dominic and Mokyo exchange looks, the former clears his throat, "yeah. I think we're good for today. We can contine tomorrow."
I nod, placing a hand on my belly, "I'm starving. It feels like I didn't have lunch."
Concerned, Jay's eyebrows quirk, "you didn't have lunch?"
"No, I said it feels like it," I click my tongue, "I had lunch, but these two stayed back and recorded some rap lines."
Jay lets out a breath. Mokyo defends himself, "we ate a big breakfast!"
I roll my eyes, "and you should have ate your shoes while I ate a sandwich for lunch."
"How about we," Jay raises his hands and claps them together, "all have dinner together? My treat."
The two of them instantly agree but I don't, which is why all eyes fall on me. I hesitate, "I don't know."
"Ah ya," Kiseok scolds, "you're not going to skip dinner on my watch."
"Trust me I won't. I just have an early schedule tomorrow and I know you'll all be drinking and I'd rather not drink and be shitfaced the next day."
Jay doesn't miss a beat when he responds, "I won't drink either."
The three of us turn to him. Mokyo snorts. Kiseok calls him out.
I take a moment to respond before ultimately shrugging and agreeing.
On our way to the restaurant, Jay does nothing but compliment me as he drives. Although the three of us decided to sit back and make it look like Jay was our driver, he didn't mind and still went out of his way dote about everything, from my appearance, to my singing, to my career, to my personality, to downright things that he probably only just thought of in the spur of the moment, like being able to put up with Simon Dominic and Mokyo at the same time.
I mean, I don't know what they're like around him but they aren't that insufferable.
We promptly arrive to a restaurant and walk in.
We arrive at a table and Jay pulls out my chair for me. I thank him, adding a polite smile.
"Ya," Kiseok kicks Jay after helping me sit down, "quit it. It's too much."
Jay turns to him and breaks into a chuckle, "ya, you're the one who said our vocal star likes dudes who are upfront about their emotions and I'm about to show everyone just how upfront I can get."
Mokyo sighs and sits down next to me.
Jay turns to him, "Ya."
I turn to Jay and Ssam-D, "of course you two talked about me."
Kiseok clicks his tongue in annoyance, "the idiot won't shut up about it. I had to throw him something."
The two sit down. Jay decides to sit in front of me after Mokyo's adamance to staying in his seat.
"So," Jay leans in, elbows resting on the table, "are you seeing anyone?"
I snort. The other two collectively groan.
"I'm sure you can be seen just fine," says Mokyo.
I can't help but mirror Jay's actions though, placing my elbows on the table, "I'm not."
Jay dramatically leans back and places a hand on his chest, "wah, my heart just skipped a beat after being so near your pretty face."
Mokyo is disgusted. Kiseok is oddly endeared and can't help but grin at the interaction.
I decide to jest, "Too bad the feelings aren't mutual."
Jay leans forward and taps the table with his finger, "how do I make the feelings mutual then?"
"Good evening, are you ready to order?"
We turn to the waitress and I break into a smile, "Chicken and ice cream."
Jay firmly pats the table then points, "okay, chicken and ice cream for my future lover."
"That's it," Mokyo pushes himself back and stands, "I'm fucking leaving."
"Ya, Choi Myung-hwan," I turn to him and catch his shirt in my fist, "sit down."
Mokyo sits down.
Jau randomly blurts, "that was hot."
It's Kiseok's turn, "Ya!" he breaks into a chuckle but then makes an annoyed sound, "how was that hot."
Jay doesn't spare him a look and smacks his lips, "well a hot person said it."
For the first time in our banter, I find my cheeks tingle at his comment. I clear my throat and motion to the lady standing by our table, "ya, she's been waiting for our order for five years."
The rest of the night continues like this. Jay says something cheesy, the two grow more annoyed, and I grow a little bit more willing to hear him out more.
By the time we finish eating, Jay purposefully calls out that he's only driving me home. I'm about to protest, but the two quickly agree that there was no way they were going to listen to Jay's compliments for me any longer.
The lack of people present in the ride back, partner with me now sitting in front out of courtesy made the first few moments of the drive a little awkward. Jay was quick to lighten up the mood though.
"Now, imma be real with you," Jay says, eyes fixed on the road as he makes a turn, "you drive me insane cause I have to actually will myself to be confident around you. You get it? I will myself to be confident."
I turn to him as he says this.
He continues, "I don't know what it is about you. Maybe the fact I've know you for a long time and yet we don't really talk, or maybe it's cause every time I see you have another great comeback after another great comeback and you just look prettier than ever."
I bring my hand to my lips in an attempt to hold back a smile.
Jay turns to me and catches this, chuckling at that, "gosh you don't know how elated I am to have you finally acknowledge my presence."
"Ya. Why are you acting like I've been ignoring you?"
Jay raises a brow, "well I couldn't get one good conversation out of you before, so it's just as good as being ignored."
I roll my eyes, "so dramatic."
Jay scrunches his nose, "so cute. Gah. A big part of my brain is yelling that I shouldn't go home without you but I don't play like that-- unless you want to, of course."
I clear my throat and cross my arms, "save that for another time."
I am taken aback by Jay suddenly bursting out laughing and gripping his fists in victory, "hell yeah! Here's to another time coming soon!"

But if you're all not interested in fanfics anymore, then I'll just stop after in love with my best friend.

Tumblr media
It was raining when you decided to leave the raided supermarket, finding resources was becoming difficult when gangs were popping out of nowhere like daisies.
Selfish pricks taking everything.
You were attentive to glimpse down the street, to make sure it was clear, before making a run for it down the road and then taking a left into a garden where you hid behind a wall from an approaching vehicle.
They were a group of boys, shouting and laughing while pointing guns at the sky. This was what had become of the world, the purge in real life; forever. It wasn’t easy leaving cities when there were gangs and such at every corner, there was no escape.
You sighed, your brother got lucky. The last time you communicated with him he'd told you he was safe, and that the safe haven he found was full of good people.
That was two years ago.
Once you were sure the vehicle was gone, or the shouting had stopped, you peeked around the wall before stepping back out into the street. It was raining harder now and you were soaked through to your skin, an agitated sigh parted your lips.
The place you’d been staying in for the past two weeks, was a good four-hour journey. You wouldn’t have went back if you hadn’t left your second set of clothes or the recourses you’d collected over the past three months.
Being alone was becoming difficult.
While tightening the strap on your bag before setting on your journey back, you heard shouting and a gunshot not too far behind you. Whipping your head towards the direction of the sound, a gasp escaped your lips and you started running.
There was no way you knew where you were going, no direction in mind as you run as far away and as fast as you could. It was a failed attempt to escape, there were a group of men waiting at the end of the street for you in a vandalised jeep, laughing at you.
‘Shit,’ you muttered as you stopped.
It didn't take the two men, who were chasing you, long to catch up and grab your arms from behind you, and then haul you towards their jeep. One of them carelessly blindfolded you while another chortled deeply under his breath, obviously over the moon with their new discovery.
>
When you woke up, you were tied to a seat, presumably placed in the middle of a room, and even though you were still wet, you were somewhat warm. It still felt uncomfortable as the restraints were tied far too tight for your liking, your hair was stuck to your face and worst of all, your bag was missing.
An agitated sigh parted your lips.
The male’s you were surrounded by were all murmuring to each other before abruptly going quiet when the door opened and closed. It made you feel anxious to know who had such an impact on all of them like that.
You wondered if he was scary? Or maybe he was a psychopath? Hopefully, he was neither…
“And what’s this?”
His voice sounded somewhat familiar— something from an old memory, back when the city was thriving and you were safe with your brother.
It was weirdly... comforting.
“She was alone when he found her.”
You pursed your lips as you anticipated the next thing to happen to you. Would they kill you? Would they keep you as a cleaner or chef? Or, wait... would they eat you?
The questions that engulfed your mind were quick to leave as they came once the blindfold was removed. You made eye contact with a surprisingly really good-looking man not too much older than you, but that didn’t stop yourself from recognising him.
“Christian?” You gasped.
The male took a step back, eyebrow raised, “how do you know me?”
Of course, he wouldn’t remember you. Sure, you weren’t close friends, but you were in the same class in high school and maybe, you had a small crush on him back then.
Nevertheless, that was all a good few years ago now, so much in the world had changed since then. Even you.
“Wait,” he chuckled, moving wet strands of hair away from your face. “Y/N?”
Thankful he’d moved your hair, you still felt your heart plummet to your throat.
“You remember me?”
The shock on your face made Ian laugh as he nodded his head. The scenario happening before your eyes would have been much better if you weren’t tied to a chair, nevertheless, the concept of better scenarios and situations were long gone.
But again, you couldn’t find it in yourself to complain. He was as handsome as you remembered him to be, okay so maybe being the leader of a gang wasn’t a good thing, but it was kind of nice to see a face you once saw every day.
He could still kill you if he wanted to, can’t forget that.
“Shame we had to meet like this,” he smirked before turning to look at one of his many men. “Untie her and take her to an empty room.”
It took a mere second for the guy to follow Ian's instruction, you were out of the seat before you knew it and being led towards the door.
“Make sure you lock the door to her room.”
You turned around to look at Ian, the smirk was still on his lips except his eyes were darker than usual.
And then the door closed.
>
Three days went by, no one let you out of the room, and no one came in, but they fed you and gave you a new set of clothes. It was nice and warm, but you were curious to see what was outside your door, more so you wanted to see Ian again, talk to him— ask him for his help.
A sigh parted your lips as you lay in the middle of the bed waiting for something to happen, thinking about what was going on in the world while you were locked inside.
What if your brother needed you?
At that moment the door to your room opened to which you turned your head, and watched the very man you’d been waiting for to walk in.
He smirked, “red pants?”
You blushed, sitting up and pulling down the hem of the t-shirt at the same time, “I just wore what I was given.”
Ian hummed, head slowly nodding to your response as he approached the bed. He sat down, eyes scanning the room before looking at you, staring you down daringly.
It made you shiver.
“Tell me, y/n,” he spoke, your name slipping off his tongue was like sweet, thick honey. “Do you like it here?”
Mouth dry and heart shaking, you stared into his eyes and nodded your head, too afraid to say otherwise.
He’d changed too.
“Good, good,” he smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “It’s safe for you here, it’s better when you’re with me.”
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, not sure what he meant by that, you proceeded to ask him. Hand moving forward to grab him, but at that very second, the door swung open with so much force.
“Boss, someone’s trying to steal our shit. Again!”
And just like that, he was gone. You sighed.
It was thunder storming that night.
>
The door was unlocked when you woke up the next morning, so you took it upon yourself to investigate down the long hallway, happy you didn’t need to stay locked in your room anymore.
While strolling at a leisurely pace, you came across a black door.
It was left slightly open, and even though you knew you shouldn’t, you had to, maybe it was a way out? Hence, with no hesitation, you pushed it open further and peeked inside.
There was a figure on the couch, head thrown back and eyes closed. It was Ian, he was bleeding. An inaudible gasp parted your lips and you cautiously stepped inside to see if he was okay.
However, before you could approach him you noticed a woman seated next to him, attending to his wounds. It seemed like she knew what she was doing, her hands moving swiftly before she saw you.
She looked as shocked as you were when you two made eye contact, it was as if she hadn’t seen another female in years. Ian stared at the pretty woman’s face before turning to see her staring at you.
“I—I,” you stuttered, heart falling into the pit of your stomach at the thought of getting caught. “I’m sorry, I’ll go.”
Ian tried to get up, but the bullet wound in his shoulder hadn't been treated yet and caused him a lot of pain to move. He shouted your name, asking you to come back, but you were long gone, hidden in your room, trying to figure out how to leave.
You were brought back to reality, annoyed at yourself for not finding a way to leave as soon as you'd been brought here. However, seeing a familiar face had made you feel so safe that you'd forgotten it was everyone for themselves out in the world now.
You felt so stupid. What were you thinking?
A few long hours passed by, you were sitting on your bed waiting for Ian's men to go to sleep one, by one, so you could find a way to get out of here.
As much as you liked it, and as much as you wanted to stay, you couldn't. Ian probably only took pity on you because you were an old classmate, a familiar face. Maybe that was why he'd let you stay and had not killed you yet.
More so, you needed to find your brother.
How could you forget about your brother? You asked yourself as you thought about the old feelings that came lingering back when you first made eye contact with Ian.
A knock on the door broke you out of your reverie, leaving you startled because you thought most of the men had called it a night.
“Who is it?” You asked, quietly approaching the door.
“It’s me,” came a sigh.
You bit your bottom lip, contemplating whether or not to let him in. He knocked again, silently pleading for you to open the door, pleading for you to let him explain himself.
Finally, you gave in and opened the door.
The first thing Ian noticed were your shoes, the second thing he noticed was the jacket you were gripping onto tightly in your hands.
“You’re leaving?” He asked, stepping into the room.
You avoided eye contact, instead, staring down at your, old and worn out, but favourite pair of shoes. That was enough of an answer for him to realise he was going to have to see you walk away from him, from safety.
“Why?” He demanded to know, grabbing your chin to force you to look at him. “Why are you leaving?”
A sad chuckle parted your lips, “I can't stay here, this isn't where I belong. I should be out there looking for my brother."
He followed your finger to the window you were pointing out of before reaching for that very hand, and pulling you towards him.
“You do,” he muttered. “You do belong here, plus… It's not safe for you out there, there's more and more people dying everyday. Let me look after you, let me help you.”
“But—“
“Trust me," he pleaded, softly. "Please."
A soft chuckle left your lips, you felt shy and rather dumbfounded because who would have thought you had a chance in this broken world? You and Ian? Love?
You hadn’t thought about those feelings, or yourself for years.
It made you feel dizzy.
“So...” you grinned, changing the subject. “In high school? Did you?”
“Yeah,” he huffed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Since the day you asked me to tie your shoelaces for you.”
You snorted, playfully hitting his chest, “gross.”
Ian smiled, leading you into his arms to hold you close. He kissed your forehead before holding you tightly against his chest.
A sigh of relief for the first time in two years parted your lips.
>
“So, where is your brother?”
You kissed Ian's neck before coiling your arms around him and resting your hands against his chest.
He grinned.
“Somewhere in New York City,” you told him. “I have no idea where though, I couldn’t gather any co-ordinates.”
He nodded his head, pulling at your hand to walk around and sit on his lap, he loved the feeling of you against him.
He loved you.
“And you want to go?” He questioned.
There was a smile on your face, eyes gazing deeply and rather quite daringly into his, “you don’t?”
A loud laugh rumbled through his chest, he coiled his arms around you and pulled you closer as if that was even possible.
The world was still broken, destroyed even, but that was for another day.
“Anywhere with the love of my life is okay with me," Ian smiled.
New York City was your next adventure, you were finally going to find your brother after years of searching for him alone.
You were going to bring him home.
