Just kidding, I’m still really bad. But I have played roughly 25 hours now and finally feel like I somewhat understand how to properly play the game, and am getting to the point where I am actually having fun!

I’m not a Gamer, video games come very very not easily to me, and multiplayer games make me incredibly anxious (like quivering in my seat lmao) so I’m really proud of myself for getting out of my comfort zone with this one.

Aseprite Tips for Noobs !!

Get the software: Aseprite (the pixel software of all time) Video tutorial:

Aseprite Crash Course in 30 minutes by AdamCYounis If you already have it you can skip ahead to 'the workspace' timestamp in the video.

If you have ever used another art software, Aseprite will be familiar to you but all the keybinds will be messed up. You can go to edit > keyboard shortcuts, search what you're missing and rebind it to whatever you're used to.

Most important keybinds (to me):

Brush: B

Eraser: E

Undo: control + Z

Redo: control + Y

Quick colour picker: hold alt and click

New layer: shift + N

New frame: alt + N

Lasso select: Q

Quick outline: shift + O

Help! I pressed a button by accident and now I don't know how to fix it

These are a couple keybinds that are actually really useful for pros but a pain in the butt if you hit them while you're learning

Put the animation timeline back: tab

I can give some more advanced tips if anyone wants, but I dont want to overwhelm. If youre stuck there is official aseprite documentation where you can search for what you need. Or just ask me. Everything you have could possibly stuck on I have got stuck on it before 20 times.

Since y’all really like it here’s my headcanons on opera singer Bi-Han!

Became obsessed with Chinese opera at the ripe age of three and decided that’s what he wanted to do with his life.

Kuai Liang was scared of Chinese opera as a child.

His mother had a friend who worked in an opera house and she was more than happy to give him lessons.

Sings almost exclusively in Chinese.

When he was kidnapped by the Lin Kuei they banned him from singing, but he stubbornly continued to practice when he had time on solo missions. Seeing it as his own act of rebellion.

Has a surprisingly high signing voice (maybe soprano? Kinda hard to tell since he has a deep voice) and incredible vocal range.

Can crack glass with his voice and is insanely proud of it.

When Hanzo tore his head off his vocal cords were torn to shit, giving his voice as Noob a scratchy and strained quality to it.

His ability to sing was impacted heavily by his death and resurrection. He struggles to hold and hit high notes without devolving into coughing fits, getting a sore throat, and/or losing his voice for hours to days at a time. But if Bi-Han’s anything, it’s stubborn so he continues to “build up his tolerance”.

The mind control placed on him as Noob didn’t allow him to indulge in hobbies but he did find himself subconsciously falling back into old habits and singing when he’s alone. Causing him to gain a reputation as a “siren”. It was said if you can hear him you’re already dead.

His clones can’t talk but he does use them as back up vocals.

After being freed (because I’m going off he’s still Noob physically but Bi-Han mentally) he starts to wander through realms and his reputation grows.

He became a cryptid in Earthrealm and has been posted hundreds of times on paranormal forums. Had a buzzfeed unsolved episode dedicated to him. He was unaware of the attention he garnered but after he realized he became a massive troll.

Kuai Liang, while happy he has his brother back, wishes he would stop singing creepily late at night.

Sareena loves it and melts when he serenades her. Nearly fainted from shock the first time he did it. This man is a hopeless romantic. I will not be changing my mind.

(Not a headcanon but has anyone seen Ride the Cyclone? The Ballad of Jane Doe reminds me of him. And Talia reminds me of Bireena.)

Sektor Gameplay Trailer

Sektor Gameplay Trailer does not make me optimistic when it comes to Sub-Zero, because right now it really feels like NRS is firmly set to ridicule Bi-Han and trash all the best details about him from widely understood lore. I also have this impression that all characters are “promoted at his cost”, especially Sektor. I swear, if fandom/NRS will applaud her ideology while trashing Bi-Han for the same mindset, I will be furious. And is it just me, or is the NRS erasing the “evil women”? Damashi turned into Titan Shang Tsung, Mileena is now a good if not a bit brash princess, Sindel the great queen (while a great chunk of fandom/storyline ignores her shitty treatment of sick people), Tanya a loyal servant. Even Nitara, though supporting the bad guys, is there to save her realm from starvation. And now, female Sektor - who is openly said to share the same vision with Bi-Han, feels like will get the final approval, when everyone (NRS) paints Bi-Han in the worst light. Like, for the first time I’m not sure if I want to engage with Mortal Kombat Game so set to make Bi-Han suffer and yes, this jump at enemy when portal is closing is the weirdest take for Sub-Zero right now.

But also, I’m kinda tired of people comparing this to MK1’s scene when Sub-Zero is jumping on Kung Lao and Raiden. Because that scene was meant to be theatrical and overdone, and this was just Sub-Zero’s big entrance to scare off Liu Kang’s Champion, as a part of test designed by Madam Bo. Check, even Kuai Liang was walking while spinning his spear for the same visual reasons. Especially since the same game made it clear this is not their usual thing, as during a mission they kept to stealth and attacked only when time was right or they could not stay in the same place for too long. 

Maybe the upcoming story mode will make more sense about Bi-Han jumping on Havik (as in, there is a reason behind his rash action) but in all fairness, the only thing that still keeps me interested in giving MK a chance is the premise of Sektor and Bi-Han’s close bond - one I sincerely hope won’t be turned into some romantic bullshit.

Also, the lack of Smoke disturbs me a lot. He barely got spotlight in the latest game and now he seems to be even more omitted than before? Not to mention I have no idea what is logical construction of the storyline - there is an attack on Kuai Liang's wedding (Cyrax Gameplay) but also meeting between Lin Kuei, Liu Kang's Champions and Outworld like nothing bad happened before? I'm kinda confused by the spoilers. Not that I expect any great grand storyline to follow but still weird take of turn. Now to wait and see what Noob Saibot's trailer will reveal (and enjoy some badass Bi-Han/Noob to sweeten my pain)

I never imagined I’d be here as my plans had always happened in Selva. That was home, after all, any any place else was far far away. Locations more meant to be visited and vacationed but never stationed. 

I wasn’t even sure what I’d be doing in Selva but I was sure I’d be there. Moving across the border to a new country had never been in the cards and had never been the plan but as I’ve learned all throughout my short life plans are always in motion and if you aren’t ready to adjust life will quickly leave you behind. Change is something you simply have to expect.

I grab a seat on a sun touched bench and take a sip of of orange juice as I look around the park. 

I’ve not been here long, not even a full day, but I’ve been here long enough to see that there wouldn’t be too much culture shock. Oasis Springs might not be on the border between Selva and Simerica but its close enough to be a city intertwined with enough culture from home to feel familiar but never familiar enough to be home.

That was fine. No, that was good. I needed change to be honest, not a lot, but just enough to make my own way in life and why not here? There were a few more opportunities here for me and in my case ditching a bit of my past is definitely a good thing.

I push out a breath and wipe a bead of sweat from my forehead, realizing that the sun has much more of a presence here than in Selva which is saying a lot and it is the dry kind of heat that a person can never get used to.

But I will. I’m not one to mind a bit of heat after all.

I wasn’t alone at the park although I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. There was a woman there sitting alone playing chess and so I pulled out the opposite seat and made my challenge clear by moving a pawn. She accepted by moving hers.

I'm not good at the game, to be honest, as I've rarely played but I do think I put up a good fight before she eventually bests me. Not much was said between us as we played which was for the better because Simlish is my second language and I speak with an accent but she was kind enough to introduce herself, after winning, of course.

"Josefina, by the way," she says with a confident smirk. "Have a wonderful day!"

"You too..." I mumble, staring down at the board and wondering how I lost.

I might have lost at chess but I’m definitely not a loser when it comes to life. Thanks to my father (the less said about him the better) I was able to afford this small but kinda luxurious house? As you can see it's not very spacious but it does have a nice little pool area out back which should help with the Oasis summers and it has a big enough kitchen which is really all that matters when it comes to me.

I feel like a kitchen is the heart of the house and I would make sure that mines is beating strong and happy. It’s where life and love are nourished and I’ll be sure to add my own joy and flavor to mines. 

But...I do have a confession to make. I’m a novice. I’m a noob. At least when it comes to cooking. It’s not for a lack of passion, you know, life has been hectic and I’ve never had a chance to settle down and focus on my own dreams but now that I do I’ll make up for any lack of experience with pure enthusiasm and drive! 

Cooking will be very important to me seeing as its how I plan to make my simoleons and the first couple of dishes will be Frida’s homemade tortillas and waffles. The tortillas are something cheap I can make that I hopefully can sell in abundance and the waffles are, well, waffles. Who doesn’t love waffles?

All that cooking just so I can stand outside in front of my house on a somewhat hot day and yell "Tortillas y Waffles!" at anyone passing by.

Unfortunately, most....okay, all of them ignored me. Passing me by and only stopping to stare if I were some odd curiosity. That's right, I didn't sell a single plate and and if anything was met with some hostility? It felt that way to me, at least. 

In fact, one of them, some old man with stupid little glasses glared at my offerings and simply said "Ewww..." shaking his head and moving right along.

So. This might be harder than I thought.

And so I stood there, watching people walk right past me and my stand as if I were some bush that had always been here. Offering at most a glance and making me regret it all. 

Oasis Springs might be hot but it was only a spring day and it wasn’t nearly hot enough to prevent my offerings from going cold. Just as I’m ready to close my stand and write off today as a failure one customer approaches that makes it all worth it. 

A tall man with dark hair and fetching eyes who walks confidently right up to my stand and seems to seriously consider what's before him. “Waffles and tortillas huh?” he asks, the very tone of his voice making my heart skip a beat. 

“I chuss gettin’ started,” I say too quickly and too forcefully, already defending food that he hasn’t tried and revealing my accented simlish that puts either an adoring or mocking smile on his face. Hard to tell. 

He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his wallet, slipping four measly simoleons on the table. “I’ll take the waffles to go,” and he does just that, walking off without another word but I swear (or maybe I’m hopefully imagining it) that his eyes linger on me before he leaves me a little breathless and oh so very curious. 

ELSEWHERE IN SAN MYSHUNO...

"What are these?" Ray asked in a challenging tone, looking down at the food on display a little comically but moving out of the way so that his cameraman and audience could also see what he was seeing.

"These, sir, are empanadas," the woman replied dryly. Revealing to him that perhaps she wasn't here entirely by choice. She was just a woman hired to hand out the food, that's it. Ray knew the type, after all, he was a man that reviewed local food for a living and he could always tell when a server was there just to collect simoleons.

"Alright then...give me a few of those then."

The woman lazily smacked a paper plate on the stand for him and moved him along.

He went back to his table and started to quietly eat. Every now and then he'd go "Mmmmm," or "Ahhh" giving his viewers something to react t other than him smacking his lips. He was a performer in the end, people watched his channel not for the food, but for him and the more he dragged his audience along with every bite the more views he expected to get.

He finished quickly, knowing that in his line of work people didn’t like watching anything for too long. He always had to wolf down his meal knowing that him sitting there and chewing food was bad content. "How was it?" his cameraman asked. A friend of his and always, to his viewers, just a voice. 

As usual he'd look to the camera, smile, and deliver his judgement. "Complete trash," he said with a hint of delight. Nothing got more clicks than a little negativity after all. "Greasy, doughy, and taste like processed garbage. Rubbery cheese and far too chewy. Just trash. It wouldn't even be morally right to ask the woman to try the food she serves..."

This was all an exaggeration of course. It wasn’t that bad but again, this was entertainment, and drama always sells...

Magi!sinbad x jafar:

Drakon found an egg while out picnicking with his wife, he believes the egg was either abandoned or something happened terrible happened to the egg’s parents.

(Remember that she said half so the spouse could be female and the spider half could be male or we could go the male x male route as magic does exist and it could help make that happen and maybe even without magic.)

He decided to bring you to his king and his wife so that they could decide on what should happen next.

Sinbad was curious on why one of his oldest friend brought an egg to him and his wife until he heard the reason.

Jafar decided to take care of the egg as if the egg is in the wrong hands like kou empire then danger will soon come with whatever is inside the egg becoming a weapon of sorts and didn’t want that to happen again like it did with him.

(It’s been a long while since I last seen magi sinbad so I could be remembering it wrong or something but I think that kinda happened with jafar like he was turned into a weapon until he met sinbad and all I could be wrong.)

Sinbad was onboard as he was thinking of having a child with jafar, he wouldn’t mind if the first one wasn’t from both him and jafar as it would help them get started on how parents should act.

When you hatched you were nothing like sinbad, jafar, and the generals were thinking you’d be, it would seem you’re arachnes what with the spider features you have but there’s also some other creatures feature they can see but it’s less than your spider half of what they can see.

Your spider half allows you to climb on walls (unless the other half is also something that can climb on walls then ignore that lol) so you’re a troublemaker if you want to do something but your parents, uncles and aunts won’t allow you, though jafar seems to always be able to get you down whether it’s by coaxing you, getting you down with his strings or using his weapon on his strings to climb up there and get you himself. You mostly get this influence from watching sinbad and what with sinbad teaching you some things you shouldn’t know which gets him in trouble, the two wouldn’t have it any other way.

Genshin!tighnari x cyno:

Collei found an egg while scouting with some of the other rangers she described to bring it home as she could tell by the state of the nest that the parents are no more.

Tighnari was surprised to see collei carrying a fairly large egg after getting back from routine scouting to make sure the forest is in check.

Once she explained what she saw tighnari decided to raise the egg as there was no telling what could happen to it once it hatch especially with the fatui and their experiments that they do on people and creatures.

Cyno was surprised like tighnari first was at the egg being in his shared home with tighnari, though he soon understood when both tighnari and collei explained what she had seen and the possible outcome of the parents along with what might happen if the egg falls in the wrong hand seeing as how they don’t know what could be inside the egg until it hatch’s.

They took care of you until the day you hatched, making sure you were warm and such, there were a few scares but thankfully nothing bad has happened as far as they know.

The day you finally hatched was when it was thundering outside making tighnari, collei, and cyno plus the others in the small village stay inside so as to now get soaked and sick.

You were a hybrid, with your spider half being the most noticeable feature than you other half. Thankfully all his equipment to do a check up on you were inside the house so he can give you a check up after you hatched instead of going out in the rain which would most likely get him sick and that won’t be good especially with you just hatching the same day as the storm and you can get sick as well if he does, you were checked up and the results came out fine as you’re healthy like any other baby born.

Demon slayer!muzan x yoriichi:

Yoriichi had found an egg while scouting for any demons that would come that night but all he found was the egg.

Yoriich brought you to muzan and suggested that they adopt the egg and care for it.

Muzan out of fear of angering yoruichi and having his end by him agreed, not knowing that he will also get the same parental instinct to take care of you.

Muzan made sure that the upper and lower moons are to take care of the new demon heir and if harm should come to the egg then he would gladly make them wished they protected the egg better.

Muzan kept the egg away from Douma as he knew that the rainbow-eyed upper moon is unpredictable what with him having no emotion and to make sure that the egg is safe he leaves it with kokoshibo and akaza as he knows those two are more responsible than Douma.

Though sadly the two usual babysitter had to be unavailable as they were on a mission to find the blue spider lily and the rest of the upper and lower moon wasn’t really trustworthy to take care of you except maybe nakime but she is busy as well, so muzan sadly left the egg in Douma’s care not without giving Douma a warning that he should not bring danger to the egg and protect it at all cost or else consequences will happen.

You had hatched in douma’s care a little before muzan had arrived so while waiting for muzan douma began telling stories about muzan even though only he understood himself as your still just a baby and too young to understand him talking, all you knew is that this male with the rainbow eyes is not your mother who you heard through your egg all the time in the past. Muzan arrived a minute or so later expecting to see his child still in a egg but is shocked to see that there is a baby with spider like feature surrounded by egg shells, he immediately knew that you had hatched as he can see the slime that is usually in a egg on your small spider hybrid like form who is giving a bored look at Douma who still is telling stories about muzan. Muzan quickly left with you after rewarding Douma with more of his blood and went to his home to introduce you to yoriichi.

It’s part of this webcomic called “The UNSPOKEN”, which is an adaptation series I’m writing that consists one-shots and two-shots, inspired by Dragon Ball with its two characters, Goten and Trunks. This whole series was started in 2021 when I was still a “more than entry-level but definitely not experienced enough” live-action storyboard artist (aka in films and advertising, not in the animation industry), until now when I’m a more experienced artist and a noob junior art director in real life, the primary goal of it is to help me practicing on needed skills like writing, paneling, blocking, character analysing, etc. by doing something I really enjoy. I still have lots of things to learn and explore along the way, and my changing mindset will probably be shown in the writing of this series as time goes by as well. This really is a passion project, so if you’re enjoying and still following this, thank you very much and I appreciate it a lot.

What do you like about Idia?

I got so excited when I got your ask, Anon. And now it’s your problem because I’m probably going to talk a lot lol Thank you very much for asking and giving me an excuse to shower Idia with compliments.

And sorry for replying so late.

To be honest, Idia feels scarily close to being a perfect character for my liking, he kinda has all the qualities that I usually fall for + somehow manages to (unintentionally) incorporate vibes of so many other characters that I like. A friend that got us into twst knew that I’d instantly get invested, it’s almost embarrassing, to be honest lol

So the easy answer would be that I kinda like everything about Idia, but I am annoying, so here are some categories:

Visual

Idia’s design is so damn cute. I really like the combination of him being a lanky scrawny creature with bad posture and being almost “moe” level of adorable. His creepy smile and silly giggles and dark aura works very well with his pretty face with dark lips and this almost… pathetic regular expression. I think his face is what I like about him the most, both the expressiveness and the way it’s drawn in general.

His hair, obviously, are also a big part of it. It’s so unique. One of the first things I said when I started drawing Idia regularly was “oh I’m going to miss drawing his hair so much when we move on from twst” lol Because there is really no other character like that (well, there’s also Ortho, but you get what I mean). The shape, the physics behind it, the fact that it expresses Idia’s emotional state so nicely not only in colour (which is very pretty btw, both the blue and the pink hues, and the orange ones as well), but also in how it “acts”.  

Also, Idia’s overall silhouette is great. It’s just… his clothing choices are so fun. His long moe sleeves in his PE uniform, his striped shirt that he wears under his uniform, and of course the huge bell-shaped hooded jacket that hides his body. For some reason it’s, I don’t know, especially cartoony? In a good way, of course.

And lastly, his body language. I love how awkward he is and how much he tries to take as little space as possible when he is stressed out or scared.

So yeah, as someone who draws, I really enjoy Idia. I always have fun with him, and it’s a huge part of why I’m so into him.

Personality/quirks

He is so annoying 😔 … and I love every second of it lol

I love the fact that Idia isn’t just a lovable hikki otaku guy, and he has a lot of unpleasant qualities: he is an elitist, he is stubborn, he is rude sometimes, he makes assumptions about other people (well, he’s surprisingly perceptive so he’s usually right BUT). He likes to tease and to get on the other person’s nerves, and whenever he feels threatened, it’s not unusual for him to attack with negativity first or just to take a dig at his opponent. He is both self-deprecating and self-loving at the same time. But honestly this is what makes him so great. I usually draw him being freaked out by others, but in fact I really really love it when Idia is insufferable.

Because it a) makes sense considering his background; b) is written in a way that is very fun to read; c) is balanced out very well.

Idia isn’t malicious; he’s just socially inept and genuinely scared of others. He is an asshole, but in reality it is due to the fact that he doesn’t know how to connect with others and doesn’t want to seem desperate, plus gets overwhelmed by others very easily. In fact, I think he is much more empathetic than Azul, for example, but I won’t talk about it this time.

I always think about that line that Idia said when he was roasting Riddle for not knowing how to play videogames. I don’t remember the exact line, but it was something similar to “I’ve never seen anyone who is as much of a noob as you lmao but I’m a fucking loser with no friends so yeah makes sense”. I think it describes Idia’s view on others and himself quite nicely: torn between “everyone is shit” and “I am shit”. “I am a genius and everyone is wrong” and… you know.

I also love that Idia drowns himself in his coping mechanisms, but he is still surprisingly realistic about what’s going on in his life. He did create a robot to resemble and act as his diseased younger brother, but he never allowed himself to forget that it is indeed a robot. He doesn’t want to forgive himself, but he also is tired of feeling pain and doesn’t know how to cope with it. So his solution is extreme escapism, but also hyper-awareness about his own faults and never-ending state of excruciating guilt.

So yeah, he’s such a fun character to dive deeper into psychology-wise.

Love his serious moments, love his silly moments, love his complaints, love his emotional rants, love that he’s passionate about stuff that he likes, love that he critiques society in the pettiest ways possible, love his giggles, everything.

(He also reminds me of Katsu in a lot of ways so I am biased lol)

Story

Oh I’ve talked about how much I loved Ch6 a lot, so I won’t write another essay (physically stopping myself).

I’ll be brief and just say that I honestly would have loved Idia even without learning his backstory, because he is just that entertaining, but knowing it made me appreciate him on a whole other level. I love how much depth his character has, how nuanced it is and how beautifully his chapter ended. Seeing him getting closure was very satisfying, and I love that it didn’t change his character drastically overnight.

His love towards Ortho is a beautiful thing, ship-wise or not.

So yeah I kinda just blacked out at some point, I think lol I can talk about Idia forever. He is just an extremely enjoyable character to both read and write.

Bihansthot, I have this kinda stupid question I've been holding since I got into mk fandom.

Isn't lin kuei located in earthrealm? I've been seeing people say something along the lines of kuai getting introduced to earthrealm romcoms, johnny making earthrealm references that they dont understand, etc. They left me confused. Why are they behaving as if they're living in a whole another realm? Please do enlighten me since I've noticed that you're a long-time MK fan.

Yes, the Lin Kuei is located in Earthrealm and it’s somewhere in China possibly in Hunan province based on Noob’s gear in MK 11, later it’s in Arctika which is also presumably somewhere else in China but no one’s certain where. Possibly Heilongjiang province based off of the severe cold we’ve seen seen depicted in Arctika, but it’s all just guesses.

As for the troupes you mentioned I think it stems from the Lin Kuei being a very traditional and secluded clan and most people think they don’t have a lot of exposure to the outside world which we see in MK1 is not necessarily the case since Bi-Han and Kuai Liang travel around with Liu Kang. The Lin Kuei is actually ridiculously technologically advanced and probably have a very huge world knowledge but most likely just the Grandmaster and his inner circle, someone like Kuai Liang may not know as much outside of clan life? At least I think that’s what people must think, it’s not a view point I personally share though. I think it’s closer to MK1 where they’re very knowledgeable about the world around them, have they seen something like Friends or Sleepless in Seattle or something like that? Probably not, do they know the genre exists? Probably. They probably don’t have a vast knowledge of pop culture, so Johnny having to explain stuff like that makes sense but like Bi-Han and Kuai Liang know what cell phones are and how to use them. I mean they build cyborgs for crying out loud. For lack of a better explanation people just like writing Kuai Liang in particular being very naive of the outside world when it’s probably not entirely true. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I suppose some of it might come from the MK11 revelation that cryomancers are Edenian, so maybe some people think Kuai Liang and Bi-Han are from Edenia? They’re from China though, at least in the Midway timeline they are and as far as I’m aware that hasn’t changed ever.

TL:DR people just like doing it because it seems cute.

“Ugh, so close!” You stomp your foot and drop the remote beside you, “you’re using cheat codes!”

Jensen laughs, “on MarioKart?”

“I don’t know, you’re cheating!” You accuse again.

“Or I’m just better than you. Total noob.”

“Shut up,” you hit his shoulder, “not only are you a cheater, you’re a bragger too!”

“I’m not bragging at all.”

“Whatever,” you roll your eyes and stand up, “I need to hit the bathroom before I really break out my skills. Then you’ll see.”

“Sure,” he shakes his head, “easy excuse.”

You wave him off and cross to the door. You pause and look back at him, a dopey look on your face.

“Down to the left. Just be careful, Jeremy likes to leave the door open.”

“Ew,” you wrinkle your nose, “I’ll keep a look out– or close my eyes, whatever.”

You leave him and venture down the hall. You hear the blare of speakers in the next room and the rabble of voices from the kitchen. Jensen’s dorm is much louder than your own. That’s guys for you.

You find the bathroom and take your time. You’re almost giddy. You’ve had such a good time, you barely gave a single thought to your exams or the papers waiting to be written. For a moment, you even forgot where you were.

You wash your hands and venture back down the hall. You slow dip into Jensen’s room and close the door, “I wanna be Peach this time.”

“But I’m Peach,” he looks up from his phone and puts it face down on the bed, “Bowser’s good too–”

“But I want to be Peach, she’s faster,” you argue as you sit beside him.

“Be Daisy–”

“Why can’t I be Peach?” You stick your tongue out.

“I– I’m always Peach,” he shrugs, “she’s my favourite.”

“Really?”

“Yes, really.”

“Hmm, you seem like a Waluigi guy to me.”

“Waluigi? Is that your type?”

Your phone buzzes against your leg and you reach down to grab it. You flip it over and see several messages waiting. You don’t want to deal with it. You just want to be there, with Jensen. 

“Been going off a lot,” Jensen says, “you’re pretty popular.”

“Eh, it’s just Inez,” you mutter as you scroll through the notifications, “and… Steve… what–” You black the screen and put the phone far away from you, “doesn’t matter. I’ll deal with it later.”

“Steve? As in your Professor? Rogers?” He asks.

You look at him and sigh, “uh, yeah, you know, I’m gonna be TA so… it’s nothing. Come on, back to… Moo Moo Meadows?”

He’s quiet as he flips to the course screen. You try not to think. That only gets you into trouble. You were having so much fun.

“Do you text all your professors?” He clears his throat, making you wince.

“It’s… no. It was a bit of a mix up, I don’t really reply. I don’t know,” you stammer, “he seems kinda… lonely.”

“Lonely? He’s a forty-year old man. You’re his student. You shouldn’t worry if he’s lonely.”

You sniff and thumb the analog stick, “is this about the other night? I’m sorry, Jake, I didn’t plan on doing that, really, I just… I don’t want to mess up my TA position. I need the money and that’s the point, he is my professor. I don’t wanna piss him off.”

“Do you realise how fucked that sounds?” He sits up, “you shouldn’t be afraid of him or him failing you because you didn’t want to sit with him.”

“No, no, he wouldn’t, he’s harmless, I just… felt bad for him. Really. I’m sorry. I really am. I was so disappointed because I was really looking forward to it. You and me.” You look down and rub your neck, “but I get it, I’d be pretty annoyed too.”

“I’m not– I’m not mad. I’m just concerned. Kinda confused, you know? He’s texting you and that’s kinda past a line.”

“I know, I’ll– I’ll talk to him about it. Thank you, really, I thought I was a bit… paranoid.”

“You’re definitely not paranoid, he seems a bit desperate and that’s coming from me.”

You can’t help but laugh, “Jensen, you’re so mean.”

“You’re laughing cause you know it’s true,” he smirks, “so, let’s go. Kick my ass.”

He clicks his controller and starts the race. You feel the weight lift from your chest as you focus. You hit the go button as hard as you can, steering with the stick, tilting the controller as you bear down. You are going to win this.

You get to the final lap, trailing Jensen in second place. You squint, narrowing in on him as you ready your last shell. You’re gonna do it! You can do it!

You don’t have to. He stops suddenly and you breeze past him to cross the checkered line. You squeal as Bowser celebrates and you throw your hands up.

“I won! I won! I–”

You turn to him, his eyes pinpointed on you, and your voice crackles in your throat. He watches you, a dimple in his cheek as puts down his controller and leans on the heel of his hand, looming closer as you gulp and drop your arms. He’s only an inch away, your heart beats behind your ears loudly.

“Do you want your prize?” He asks.

“My prize?” You murmur.

“For winning,” he says as his eyes flick down to your lips.

“Yes,” you breathe.

He touches your chin and you gasp. He leans in, closer and closer, and you tilt your head up to meet him. Your lips touch, shyly at first, soft and uncertain. You touch his arm and push your mouth firmer to his as you hum. You feel him smile against you.

You part, just an inch. “Wow,” he sighs.

“Wow,” you squeeze his arm.

You stare at each other, locked in the heat of the moment. His hand slips around the back of your head and he pulls you to him again. You crush your lips into his, opening up as you let his tongue poke deeper. You cling to each other as you lose yourself in him.

You feel your phone slip against your leg, another buzz that has it shifting on the mattress. You fall back with Jensen and he angles himself over you as he keeps his lips on yours. Your hand travels up his arm and grasp his shoulder, squeezing the muscles there. Another vibe.

He pulls back and his blue eyes blaze as they wander over with his hand to your hip. He grabs your phone and hits the last notification.

“What are you–”

‘She’s busy.’ He says as he types with his thumb, showing the screen to you with the text buffering to send.

“Jake!” You say as you grab for the phone and he tosses it behind him.

“You are busy,” he insists as he cradles your cheek, “he’s not getting in the way this time.”

In the original, Saburo’s laugh is shown as ぷぷぷ and since that reminded me of the infamous Monokuma laugh, I decided to translate it as “Puhuhu” since that was the english localization for Monokuma’s laugh in the first DR game.

Original line is “あざまる畜産で～す。” (lit: “Us livestocks are thankful~”), I took creative liberties with this one since keeping “livestocks” wouldn’t make much sense in standard english. In the Live2D, it kinda implies Chihiro said this line in a self-deprecating for humor way as well, to keep the situation civil.
