== Love Notes ==
Hey lovelies. I hope you all are having a fresh start to your week. I've heard good news and rough news, so I truly hope if you have good news, it stays that way and if you have bad news, it looks up for you!
I really am so glad to see people clowning though. I know no one wants to get their hopes up, but it's nice to see that kind of energy flowing through the fandom again. We deserve a little treat of hope once in a while and it warms my heart how much people are running with it.
Hope is the dream lovelies. All things spring from hope. Don't give up on it. Even when things feel the worst, hope is what keeps us going. I have so much love for you friends. I know we have our bad days, but I hope you know that no matter what happens me and the crew will send you love. We love sharing this space with you. Rest well lovelies. Some quotes about hope tonight:
"The soul should always stand ajar, ready to welcome the ecstatic experience." - Emily Dickinson
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." - Eleanor Roosevelt
== Daily Darby / Tonight's Taika ==

I am so out the loop, I didn’t realize there is a new MST3k season with a new host, Emily. I’m really loving her episodes, and I am a little obsessed with the new Crow. I think it was a good choice to hire a puppeteer who matches the energy of the character instead of just trying to do the voice.
I’ve been watching a lot of the older episodes as well. I guess I hadn’t realized what a comfort show MST3k is to me. Maybe it’s silly, but I love this theme of characters who are prisoners in an absurd and hopeless situation, but also completely make the most of it with humor and friendship. Like, I know it ain’t that deep, but it also seems an intentional part of the fabric of the show.
Tumblr media
These two are like king and queen of the nerds.
Tumblr media
I am also always really obsessed with when media puts story and character in places where it might not seem needed. Like, they technically don’t need to do any of this (eg: Rifftrax doesn’t and it’s still funny), but it’s the creativity and genius of Joel Hodgson to create this world and characters that really elevates MST3K and gives it such lasting impact.
I also just want to gush about the art direction of season 11. Kinga is apparently based on the Dragon Queen from Infra-man (I don’t know this reference) mixed with Lucille Ball. I love how Jonah’s yellow (jumpsuit and ship) contrast Kinga’s purples. I love Kinga’s bone branding (plus how it retroactively connects to the SOL) and the liquid film tech. I love how these characters live in a world that is as campy and artificial as the films they watch.

creepy crawlies ep 5 s2
After a dawning seven hour ride straight south east the group came upon a hive entrance with two guard ants by it. When the guards saw mother of all they quickly nuged the group to enter and called a worker ant to guide the group to the queen. The group quickly followed the ant. And then came to the throne chamber, it was full of small, white, see through ants, possibly in thier imago stage and in the middle sat she, the queen of this whole hive, it's powerful ruler, miss Antoine
Antoine- Mother. What a pleasure seeing you. So what brings you to my great hive and especially who are your guests?
Elisa- this is Erick and his friends, they know where my son is, and they know he has kings rot, they are trying to cure him but for that they need to get nurse spiders blood. So may we kindly let them meet Jamie?
Antoine- Oh my, well but of course kings rot is just as bad as cordiceps if not worse
Elisa- thank you
Antoine- KINGA!!!
upon the call a small ant came to the queens throne, this ant was previously serving the smaller ants thier meals
Antoine- Kinga please bring these troubled folk to Jamies lab
Kinga- of course, please follow me
the group was quick to follow the leafcutter ant going past the tunnel of the queens chamber they left the hive to then go into a dark cave when they got further in they were met with lots of high-tech machinery then they got to a glass contaiment inside slept a gigantic spider and in front of the contaiment stood an ant studing bags and samples of blood. Then Kinga spoke up
Kinga- Jamie
Jamie- yes
Kinga- these people need nurse spiders blood for a potion or rather a cure
Jamie- a cure for what? Kings rot heh
Kinga- yes kings rot
Jamie- oh fu- uhh sorry i am so sorry
Erick- no don't worry it's fine
Jamie ashemed handed the group a flask of nurse spiders bloood to which Erick bagged and packed it
Jamie- where are you heading next?
Erick- the pepper kingdom we still need two items a hypnotic mushroom and joy candy
Jamie- oh so you are heading to Jax he works in the field i also need to see him. I need to sell the kingdom thier monthly blood bags and he gives me thier best mushrooms for it, i can ask for one extra for you
Erick- then please come with us we have a map of the island but not of the kingdom alone
Jamie- of course
Elisa- if that is the case i will be leaving you i need to brew some potions of my own. If that is fine with you?
Erick- that is alright
the group then left the cave and headed straight north leaving mother of all behind.

literally lady M will never be critically acclaimed but like also. I respect the hell out of it bc for one it took itself just seriously enough even if I think the macduff live percussion farce wasn't executed nearly as well as it was clearly meant to b. and two because every Lou ballet performance I have EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE has been a little queer; this was not explicitly so but I love the little things like the skirt/pant ensemble costuming not split kn gender lines and banquo's little bi moment and the pants/pants + skirt/skirt duos. At the start I was like this is cleopatra queen of Kinga but worse but that's not fair bc it clearly didn't want that tone of bombast and it could not support it. but KYS delivers on being ""YOUR Kentucky Shakespeare"" in its partnership with the ballet and the live performance from the leopard percussionists and I don't need to forgive its critical failings bc it succeeds in being art that makes the difference on an axis where quality is a minor concern. comparison outside of itself is unnecessary (tho possible) bc it in fact achieves the oft mythical goal of being by and of and for its own people. and it's fruity too.
Also if there were any Justice in the world ppl would be doing weird sister!Lady Macbeth/banquos gf post-ruin fanfic au like it's Joan Crawford in Johnny guitar.

red, cards, and hearts + klivian for those selfship asks!!!!!
Red: Do you and your f/o share any fun or cute nicknames? What are they?
Blivian calls Kinga "love" and sometimes "my evil queen" if she's feeling a little silly, while Kinga calls her "Ivvy"!
Cards: What's a sweet, important, or memorable time you and your f/o have shared?
The first time they shared a moment and got significantly closer, they'd just finished with a wrap party for the comic series, and Blivian was a little tipsy from drinking some Songria. Kinga took her to a spare room in Moon 13 where she could get some rest, and they ended up talking with each other for a while later into the night. As it turned out, Kinga needed someone to listen to her, and Blivian just so happens to really enjoy doing that...
Hearts: How have you and your f/o improved/benefitted one another's lives since you've known each other?
Both of them were a little lonely before meeting each other, although Kinga wouldn't admit to that. Now that they're happier, Kinga is a bit less prickly around people since she has someone she knows loves her for herself, and Blivian's a bit more secure in who she is now that she has not only a girlfriend, but several close friends too!!!

Courtesy of beer money, this is my newest oracle deck!
It is the sister deck to the Queen of the Moon Oracle. The artist is Kinga Britschgi and I know what you're thinking but the art is consistent with her style and is not, AFAIK, made with AI.
It's a 44 card deck. The cards include eleven "solar cycle" cards, a number of solar deities, the wheel of the year, and cards for phenomena like solar flares.
Since this is a sun-centered deck, the cards are much brighter than its sister deck which is naturally focused on night scenes.
When I talked about the Queen of the Moon I commented on the lack of diversity and there's more to be found here. There are some men (the moon deck only had a couple men iirc), more BIPOC, not a lot of diversity in terms of age.
One thing about this deck that annoys me personally is that there's a Baldr card and not a Sunna card like, hello? Actual sun goddess here? Hello??? Also I love the art in general but the Samhain card is a bit weird. Why is there an old man stuck in an orb? Is he the Horned God in the Underworld? Is he the Holly or Oak King? I have no idea.

Just Want To Have Fun”.
Maciej Radel za niestety małą rolę Harry’ego;
I tak, barwnie ubrana Lola o krwistoczerwonych włosach wkracza w świat dżinsu i odcieni błękitu, w jakich utrzymano kombinezony pracowników fabryki.
„Kinky Boots” to mimo poważnych elementów jednak komedia pełna różnych typów humoru. Spektakl wiele pozostawia gestii aktora.

Wieliczka Salt Mine
Tumblr media
https://repository.avermaete.ethz.ch/commons_register/?slug=religion-in-the-wieliczka-salt-mine
The Wieliczka Salt Mines are situated near Krakow in Poland. Created during the Middle Ages, they were active until the beginning of the 21st century. After extracting the salt, the miners let a layer of salt form a shell to avoid the collapse of the rooms. The result were monumental halls that came to be used as underground chapels. (...)
From the 17th century, the miners carved out statues depicting saints and biblical scenes in these underground halls. Some rooms also celebrated the royal family, like the chapel for the Queen Kinga. All rooms were illuminated by gigantic chandeliers, also carved out of salt.
The beginning of Communism in Poland in the early 20th century is marked in the mines too. Once the Communists took control, the miners were encouraged to ‘explore other themes’. Accordingly, they sculpted fantastical figures like gnomes and fairies. Nonetheless, the religious gatherings in the mines continued; an act of underground resistance against the Communist regime.
