Rewrite: Starting over
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why?
Don't think about the parallels, don't think about Pete having an actual answer this time around, don't think about how "I can't run off to anywhere" isn't just Pete choosing Vegas, it's Pete deciding to give himself no other choice. He's not just refusing to run off, he's not allowing it to be an option. Handing the rope to Vegas, all over again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you run now, I'm alright with that.
Don't think about Vegas being unconditionally selfless for the first time and giving Pete a way out anyway. Don't think about how this is better than all of the apologies because they're literally rewriting their lowest moment, going back and correcting all the wrongs of the past in order to move foward.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I got nothing left.
For sure don't think about this fucking line getting reused. Reframed. Don't think about the way it was originally Pete who was split open, hurt and empty, the fight drained out of him. How this was Pete with nothing left to give. Don't think about how now the fight is out of Vegas. How his will to keep taking is gone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't want to be your burden. I just want to follow my heart.
Don't think about this confirmation that staying isn't just what Pete needs, what Vegas needs, it's what they both want.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From now on, you're no longer my pet. You're the most important person in my life.
Don't think about how it's so important for to them that they have this conversation in full before they even consider touching each other. Don't think about the way healing is important to them. Don't think about how KP said "Can we start all over?" and VP went ahead and did this.
Are y'all fucking??? Okay??????? Because I'm not.

So, Korn definitely murdered Porsche's father and has been imprisoning Nampheung since.
We have three flashback versions of the murder of Porsche's father. Episode 14 has two: Korn's account and Kan's account. Both of them have reasons to be lying, but they accord on a few details—that the one who shot Porsche's father in the back was the one who was standing at the head of the table, that Nampheung fainted upon coming down and discovering the body, that this conflict all had something to do with Korn's, Kan's, and Nampheung's father, and that both of them knew that Nampheung had children.
Here's how they diverge: Korn's version depicts that the conflict was over discrimination against their mafia lineage, that Kan shot Porsche's father, and that Nampheung fainted in his arms; he additionally adds that Arthee is one of his men sent to take care of Porsche and Porschay. Kan's version depicts that the conflict was over something to do with the death of Nampheung's first family, possibly by Korn's, Kan's, and Nampheung's father, that Korn shot Porsche's father, that Nampheung fainted in his arms, and that then he was dragged away and Korn implied that he had shot Nampheung and her two children (having heard three gunshots).
Kan's version makes more sense than Korn's. The conflict source is clearer, there's a detail about blood splatter getting across Kan's face that is omitted from Korn's version, and the provisions regarding Porsche and Porschay are included in the flashback rather than told after the fact. Also, Kan has not changed his story three times over the course of the past few episodes, unlike Korn: from neither relation or comment, to 'this friend of mine hit-and-ran them', to Kan having shot him and then she suicided, to Kan having shot him and then molested her and then she failed suicide and also Korn has her locked in the attic. I think that there's a principle somewhere saying not to trust someone that has had your mum locked in an attic for 15 years.
Also, there's the third version: Porsche's. That's the flashback from the end of episode 13. This one should be more trustworthy because Porsche has no reason not to want to know who killed his parents, although as he is just in the process of remembering it, sort of, it's possibly a little unreliable as a singular account. This version also has the least detail because Porsche has melodramatic, post-traumatic amnesia. However, it accords with a couple of details both of Korn's and of Kan's version—there was a verbal conflict going on, and one brother was sat opposite his father whilst the other was standing at the head of the table. You can also see that the outfits are the same in all three accounts. We don't see which one shot his father, but, notably, Korn was the one standing at the table's head and Kan was sat down. According to both Korn and Kan, the shot came from the one standing, and although they disagreed which of them was standing, Porsche's account confirms that it was Korn.
Therefore, we will hopefully get at the very least avunculicide next season, if not patricide. But I'm still really hoping for patricide.

We're already at the finale!! Well, yes and no, Vegas. Yes and no.
Tumblr media
This was a really odd and cool way to do a flashback scene, A++
Tumblr media
They give me so little of these three in one room and yet I eat up every second. Their reactions! You could come up with a half-dozen equally compelling explanations for each of them, which is what makes it so fun.
Tumblr media
I think he knows this is bullshit.
Tumblr media
Good for Kinn. He should be allowed to shoot as many people in business meetings as he wants.
Tumblr media
It's going to take all of my self-control not to make the rest of this post about these two outfits. Guys. GUYS. White shorts to a massacre?? Is Vegas headed to rollerderby later? I get so much dopamine from this image.
Tumblr media
I love how Kinn didn't suspect him in the non-existent poisoning for a minute.

Best Confession Scene (At Gunpoint Edition)
Tumblr media
I love them your honor.
Tumblr media
This episode is so committed to sexy golden lighting. Every shot is gorgeous.
Tumblr media
Even the parking garage full of bodies looks good. Really sets a mood for your bloody make-out needs.
Tumblr media
Kinn's WTF look speaks for us all, as usual.
Tumblr media
Gun is dead on the floor, Porsche is cradling his unconcious mother in his arms, and Pete choses this moment to tender his formal resignation. Is now the time for personnel issues, Pete?! (Yes yes I know, he's not just a random employee.)
Tumblr media
RIP to this suit. (I wouldn't joke if he were actually dead!)
Tumblr media
No, it's fine, distract me from the complete bonkers of the plot by looking like THIS. It's fine. I'm fine. I didn't need critical thinking skills.
Tumblr media
SO. PRETTY. NO. THOUGHTS.
Tumblr media
My life is yours/I'll treasure it, yeah, just kill me with the episode 1 parallels.
Tumblr media
My viewing companion and I decided we don't need a full season 2. Just a movie in which they kill Korn in Act 1 and then plan their wedding.
Tumblr media
Nampheung gets my vote for "Most Satisfying Character to Shoot Korn in the Face," FYI. Someone get this woman a gun.

This is not only about lips to lips but Kinn also trying to insert his tongue😭😫😩 omg how many times he tried to insert his tongue 😭😭😭😭 like dude 🥲 you always tried it.
Apo already mentioned this in filmania era (in one of the interview) mile really likes to using tongue when he kissing someone. Like dude, including practicing and behind the scene, how many times you kiss your partner like it’s a french kiss?!!!

I just remembered we had a flashback solely from Porsche himself, the way it actually happened, so I took a closer look.
This is what Korn said happened:
Tumblr media
This is what Kun said happened:
Tumblr media
And this is what Porsche saw:
Tumblr media
The person at the table is wearing the exact same shirt as Kun is in Kun's memory, and he's even sitting the same way. Korn had his arms on his legs while Kun had them on the table, as the person in Porsche's memory does. The hair is more similar to Kun's as well.
The shirt of the shooter in Porsche's memory doesn't add up with Kun either
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However it does add up with Korn, you can even see the white of his undershirt (Kun's was black)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While I still don't believe Kun's story entirely, I do believe Korn shot Porsche's father and then framed Kun for it.
And it makes me wonder: at the start of the episode we see Porsche climbing into the cupboard to trigger his memories, and though there's a gunshot we the audience can't see what Porsche sees, we only know that he's seeing something. Did he remember all of it this time? If so, then he knows Korn shot his father and is lying about it. Could Porsche be playing the long game? Maybe he's protecting Chay and Kinn (and later his mother) by pretending not to know, because Korn clearly has no issue shooting people who "know too much".

I almost can't believe that the gun pun got the full set-up, reinforcement, and pay-off rather than being just a one-off pun. We have the set-up in episode 7 when Kinn comes over to fuck in Vegas' guest bedroom and also to propose mafia marriage with his smaller gun, then the reinforcement in episode 8 when Porsche breaks in to Kinn's bedroom to search for Kinn's sex phone, and then the glorious pay-off in the middle of a gunfight in episode 14.
It's become so normalised at this point that I can only assume that every time Kinn points a gun at Porsche during the course of the series, he's 'subtly' indicating that he has a massive erection.
From that, Kinn calling Porsche a whore in the final scene of episode 7 is perhaps a little less out of the blue, since by this logic, Kinn handing over his gun is probably representative of a promise of sexual monogamy, so the idea, the expectation, and the fear is already undercurrent in their relationship.
Who would have thought that dick jokes and gun puns could be so deep.
