The Lovers: Lumity and Raeda
Upright: Love, unions, partnerships, relationships, romance, choice, balance, unity, harmony, shared values, communication
Reversed: Disharmony, imbalance, relationship issues, conflict, detachment, indecision, disconnection, miscommunication
For the card of love, relationships, and unity, the show’s two most ‘major’ romantic ships were obvious choices. Both relationships have their ups and downs, but Luz and Amity’s relationship is primarily very healthy, balanced, and harmonious. They bring out the best in each other, and communicate their concerns when they encounter conflict or setbacks. It might be young love, but it’s real love. They consistently choose each other over and over again, approaching everything life (the plot) has thrown at them as a team.
Raeda is the other side of the romance coin; more mature and bittersweet, full of tension and baggage. While it’s clear that Raine and Eda care deeply for each other, a lack of communication due to their respective issues and trauma (Eda’s fear of hurting Raine due to her curse, Raine’s decision to join a coven despite Eda’s dislike for the system) created disharmony between them, eventually leading to a separation that lasted many years. Even so, time heals all wounds, and these two were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to reconnect and reestablish the love they’ve always carried for each other.

as much as i love the idea that luz was gonna kiss amity in Reaching Out i kinda love how amity made all the first moves
amity was the first to blush (lost in language)
amity was going to ask luz to the dance and i am counting that (enchanting grom fight)
amity was first to tell luz she liked her -ish (i consider the “being around u makes me do stupid things and i wish it didn’t” their first “i like u” )(through the looking glass ruin)
amity was the first to kiss luz (thought the look glass ruin)
amity technically asked luz to go out with her first (knock knock knocking on hootys door)
amity (to our knowledge) was the first to use the “girlfriend” title (eclipse lake)
amity ends up canonically initiating the first on the lips kiss (clouds on the horizon)
and as much as luz is more of the romantic and would so be the one to plan their dates, amity is so the one who makes the big moves first, if luz doesn’t do it accidentally (grom)

Strength: Eda Reconciling with the Owl Beast
Upright: Inner strength, courage, bravery, compassion, confidence, inner power, persuasion, influence
Reversed: Self-doubt, weakness, vulnerability, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, feelings of inadequacy, raw emotions
The Strength card represents one’s inner strength and willpower. It means you have the confidence, compassion, and composure needed to overcome any challenges coming your way. Strength indicates that you need to approach a situation from a place of forgiveness, understanding, and love. It urges you to tame your animal instincts and channel your raw emotions like fear, anger, sadness, shame, or guilt into a more constructive response to distress.
Eda has struggled her whole life due to her curse, and is rightfully angry and resentful toward the Owl Beast for everything it has cost her. She lost her magic, isolated herself from everyone she cared about, and grew to believe everyone left her because she was unworthy of companionship. But when she gets the opportunity to confront the beast in Knock Knock Knockin’ on Hooty’s Door, she realizes that it, too, was wronged in being turned into her curse. Only when she recognizes the beast’s suffering can she put aside her own fears and frustrations to approach it with gentleness and compassion, accepting it as part of herself; and in doing so, gaining access to a power unique to herself derived from her own strength of spirit.
