Kosiv painted ceramics, UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. So cosy to touch and pleasant to use, not mentioning the aesthetic side.

My next post in support of Ukraine is:
Next site, isn't really a site. It's about Kosiv ceramics. These are traditional Hutsul painted handicrafts. Kosiv is a city in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and is an area rich in clay, so pottery has been made there since ancient times. Different Hutsul villages created their own styles of ceramics, the most famous of which is the Kosiv pottery. Kosiv ceramics were listed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists in 2019. Here's a link with more info on Kosiv ceramics.

“In Kosiv, death took Oleksa Bakhmatiuk, a Rusyn, a man of great talent and wide fame, whose obituary now appears in foreign magazines. He was a peasant, uneducated, a Kosiv Hutsul. As a self-taught potter, he made pots, jugs, and bowls that were works of art. Everyone was fascinated by his drawings with their gentle simplicity and naivety, fascinated by the execution, imagination, and color." - Lviv newspaper Dilo (1882).

Value your life, the best of us pay the highest price for it
On this day, 2 years ago, Yuriy (Ruf) Dadak, a Ukrainian poet, teacher, Ph., volunteer, and extremely kind and bright person, died in the Luhansk region. A true patriot of Ukraine. Since March 2014, he became a good friend to many volunteers of the InformNapalm community who were forced to leave the occupied Crimea to avoid being caught in the basements of the repressive occupation machine.
Tumblr media
There is also a beautiful song dedicated to Mr Yuriy:
youtube
"When there is a waterfall in Yaremche,
And flowers will bloom in Lviv,
My headlights will cut the smoke of the Carpathians again,
I'll come back to you again and again!
Faster! Faster, wheels!
Carry me to her heaven!
Faster! Faster, you wheels!
Chorus:
I'm coming to you, Mama Galicia!
I'm knocking on your door, Mama Galicia!
I'm coming to you, Mama Galicia!
I'm knocking on your door, Mother Galicia!
When a new day dawns in Frankivsk,
Morning in Kosiv and Dibrova,
The words of new songs are formed there,
That's where my home is!
My home is wonderful!"
Eternal memory to all those who gave their lives defending life in Ukraine.
Every morning, at 09:00, Ukraine observes a minute of silence in memory of the war-dead defenders and all those who lost their lives due to Russian aggression.

Backstory: Valeriy grew up in Kosiv, Ukraine. The first years of his life (up until 8 years old), his parents always noticed something off with him. They felt paranoid and fearful if they were around him for long, and he also seemed to be panicked by things that weren’t there. After a few years of this, his mother went into a full blown psychosis, and committed suicide. From there, the father decided he couldn’t take care of his son alone and brought him to a group home for children. Things only got worse from there. Things had good times. There were times he made a few good friends, but the moment he became scared or angry again, people within the same building as him would also go into horrible episodes of psychosis, which caused a few of the other residents and caretakers to become abusive towards him during these times, or even suicidal. After he lost his best friend and one of the roommates in one of these instances, the group home decided it would be best to place institutionalize him, where he was then placed in isolation because of the danger he may cause to others, and because people feared him. He was there for several years before he managed to escape.

Personality: Valeriy shows a great mistrust towards people, and is very socially awkward. He doesn’t know how to interact well, and it makes him anxious. He’s scared of the thought of harming anyone so he usually just keeps to himself, but, he can get close to people. Valeriy is a kind-hearted person who has just gone through a lot, and has lost a lot of people. Whenever he does start to open up, he’s just an absolute sweetheart. An anxious sweetheart, but a sweetheart nonetheless.
**Any Trivia:**
Power- Can take greatest fear, worse memory, etc, and make you relive it. Drawbacks are his own schizophrenic and PTSD episodes and that this curse is triggered by his own uncontrollable emotions, usually fear or anger
- He knows very little English as far as speaking. He can understand English, but struggles speaking it

Three months ago, a team of Ukrainian creatives launched the "Common Heritage" crowdfunding project. His goal is to buy things with a history to give them to the museum and save them from oblivion. In collaboration with the illustrator Anastasia Rudyk, "Common Heritage" launches a poster for sale, inspired by one of the first purchases of the project - the collection of things of Hanna Mykhailivna Baranetskaya, the daughter of a Ukrainian Sich rifleman. Hanna was born in the village of Strygantsi, Ivano-Frankivsk region, in 1926, and at a young age found herself in exile in the Irkutsk region. In 1947, she embroidered a picture depicting her native village and adding the inscription: "I am reminded of my native home, where my dear family lives, where I also spent my young summers." Together with Hanna, Olena Kovalyuk from the city of Kosiv, whose name was Oksana, was exiled. She gave Hanna two albums of drawings that she also created in exile. The cover of one of the albums and motifs from the embroidered picture became the basis of the poster, which can be bought on the "Common Heritage" page on Instagram. All profits will be used to purchase ancient folk objects for Ivan Honchar's museum. Alina Bozhniuk and Anna Kascheyeva, co-founders of "Common Heritage", say: "Stories like this one should live. The creativity of Ukrainians who passed through Soviet camps and exile is a vivid testimony of what this "friendship of peoples" really was, and how love for one's own home, one in the whole world, supported even in the darkest times. Thanks to museums, we can preserve these stories so that they become an inspiration for creating new meanings and new works." Illustrator Anastasia Rudyk adds: "By studying the past, we can better understand and identify ourselves in the present. This initiative is of great importance for the preservation of cultural heritage. The current war proves once again that it is important to remember and protect our common history."
