Hi there, Monaca! 😁 I’ve got a question for you (or for Repo-net about you). How would Monaca rank her friends/the other Warriors of Hope? I’ve always gotten the feeling that Monaca and Kotoko actually don’t get along very well even if they act like besties and that Monaca isn’t nearly as close to Masaru as someone might think, for instance. Is that really the case? Thanks in advance & enjoy your blog takeover! 😉

(A/N: Happy April’s Fools too! I’ve gotten such a great laugh about this! Your Monaca post was so spot on that I thought it was some sort of suggested Tumblr post from a Monaca rp blog at first. And gosh you changed your blog theme and colors and everything! It’s impressive!! 😊 Given the current Monaca theme, I thought this would be a good time to ask this but please don’t feel obligated or anything. Cheers!!)

Hello, friend from another land! Thank you for taking the time to write such an interesting question to Monaca.

Hmm, it's been some time since I spent my day thinking about the other Warriors of Hope. My goal is a little further from theirs; and Monaca just has too much on her plate to worry about what antics the four of them get up to. That, and ranking them feels a little trivial and 'gossipy'. But, since you asked so nicely, I'll be happy to indulge you in a few secrets!

4. Jataro Kemuri

Mmm... I don't really have much to say about poor old Jataro, unfortunately. He's just... kind of there. And Monaca feels like he's happy with that role. He says a lot of super strange and random stuff, going on suuuuper long tangets, and all he ever talks about is us hating him.

Which, if he really wants us to believe that? Then Monaca will! It makes him happy, for some strange reason. You can blame his mother for that. Jataro's honestly just really gross and weird - like a worm! But one with value, at the very least. You can never have too many throwaway pieces at your disposal to buy time for yourself, after all.

3. Masaru Daimon

'Monaca's in love with Masaru and how cool, strong and brave he is!' ... That's what Masaru thinks our relationship is, anyways. I get the feeling he does a lot of the stuff he does in an effort to impress Monaca, which I don't particularly mind. But he just feels so needy for the spotlight and to be a 'hero'. He's really reckless and gets himself into trouble so very often.

Frankly, Masaru has his 'redeemable' qualities, if you'd like to call them that. He does care for everyone else in the Warriors of Hope and the other kids in the city in his own arrogant and boastful kind of way, but his motivations are just so fueled with pride of being the best. Monaca can see why he turned out the way he did, but really, I just think he's a little bit too plain.

Still, he's a devoted boy who will never back down from a fight. Monaca could ask him to go out there and fight every adult in the city with his bare hands and he'd probably be silly enough to do it. The 'bravery' and supposed 'courage' he has can be turned into a selfish foolishness quickly and easily.

2. Kotoko Utsugi

If Monaca had to be blunt about it, there's quite the gap between this poor girl and the boy sitting at number one. And even then, she's only up this high anyways because she entertains me in ways the other boys can't. Having someone I can actually talk to about girly girl stuff is a nice way to breathe and relax for once, y'see?

But Monaca knows what Kotoko is. She doesn't love Monaca because she thinks she's 'totally adorbs' and 'so kyuuute'. She loves me because she knows that I know everything that can set her off and turn that freaky facade of hers into a shattered mess in mere seconds. She might be able to fool everyone else, but not Monaca. I know what she really sees me as in the depths of her mind.

But she's more cunning and serves more uses to the grand scheme of things compared to the two pieces below her. Monaca still thinks she's a fraud of an actress, but she wouldn't say that out loud and break poor Kotoko's heart; unless the time finally calls for it and she needs to be disciplined for stepping out of line. Heeheehee...

1. Nagisa Shingetsu

Oh, pitiful Nagisa. It's a travesty; Monaca can see so much potential and talent in him to be something more than what he already is. He can be Monaca's smartest and most reliable soldier, able to handle any task his princess assigns him to because she knows he's capable of it. She expects him to pass every assignment she gives him. But Monaca just can't feel that way about him.

If nothing else; I do... feel amused and charmed by Nagisa's devotion. Out of all the Warriors of Hope, it's super easy to tell that he's more focused than anyone else in our group about the paradise. But his heart is too fragile and too easily manipulated. And that's... dangerous. Monaca knows Nagisa's one heartfelt talk with an adult away from possibly turning against us - and worse, against Monaca.

So... as endearing as Nagisa's obvious feelings for Monaca are and how much he'll do for me to shower him with the praise he's so incredibly reliant on... all I see are the makings of a potential traitor who can't see the world the way Monaca sees it. A shame that him being so obsessed with me is going to be what leads him to break. It'll only be a matter of time though, and he'll finally help me to realize my dream. Doesn't that sound nice, Nagisa? 💚

Nagisa Shingetsu x Sister!Friend!Reader x Kotoko Utsugi

It took quite awhile for Nagisa to warm up to you, but Kotoko immediately took to your warm demeanor.

Kotoko loves the warmth and care you radiate, and how you absolutely just seem to enjoy taking care of her.

She is quite selfish about your love, though, and will play Kokichi's crocodile tears to get some extra affection from you.

"Waaaaah! Y/N, Masaru is being a meanie!"

It may not be the most conventional methods, but it works in her favor.

You're the first to assure her that no one is going to be gentle with her whenever it's said, which she appreciates immensely. You've stopped a lot of breakdowns from happening.

When Nagisa sees just how much Kotoko trusts you, coupled with your desire to care for him as well, he slowly begins to learn that he can rely on and trust you.

It starts small, such as him asking you to remember to return a book to him, but slowly progresses into asking you if he's good enough for anyone.

As they both trust you, they'll put their lives on the line for you.

If anyone is talking shit about you or threatening you, or whatever, these two are coming to your aid, and they don't take it lightly, either.

You've protected them so much, so they figure it's the least they can do.

They learn to get along far better now that they have you around helping them get better and protecting them from the harshness of the world around them.

Over a bit of time, they refer to you as "Big Sis (Y/N)", coming to trust you over Junko.

They're definitely not ungrateful, though.

They both do little things to show their appreciation.

Nagisa reads with you, offers to study with you, play memory games, and tutor one another.

Kotoko plays dress-up with you, roleplay games where she's the princess and you're the queen, and makes you little gifts, trinkets, and accessories that she considers adorbs enough to be befitting of someone as adorbs as you are, in her opinion.

Overall, they both love you very much, and do their best to show their appreciation of your efforts in their own ways.

I was in a production of Annie, where I played Annie herself! I worked really hard to make my voice reach all the notes, but the performance nights were super fun!

Hello! I wanted a kin match if possible, preferably danganronpa! I’m an INFP-T (sometimes I get INFJ-T) and I’m probably either a 5w6 or 6w7. I fake my personality and lie to make people happy when I’m around them. I’m super anxious, self-conscious, and self-deprecating. I have many hobbies but feel completely talentless. I fake being bubbly and optimistic around people and I act cold and analytical when I’m trying to protect myself. I cry and daydream a lot, and I always feel like a burden. -🍈

unfortunately, kotoko doesn’t have free time events for me to refer to. however, like you, i think that even though she has extroverted tendencies, kotoko... has more of an introvert vibe to me, if that makes sense. she doesn’t really seem to get energised by other people the way extroverts do, although she does seem to generally like people. i think you could relate to this- it’s okay to take some time to wind down, haha... um, your enneagram types. i think that for 6w7s, both of you enjoy being around other people, fear losing your support systems(other people), strongly value reliability/trust in relationships, have a tendency to doubt themselves/others, and are naturally social and spirited. for 5w6s, both of you are hard-working and analytical solvers of problems, tend to pick up skills or knowledge that can be useful, remain calm in times of crisis(typically), have difficulty taking action when not inspired, and can be private or defensive. those are just some similarities.. and i think that the two of you share a lot of general traits. i don’t know you personally, but maybe you relate to her eccentricities- like how she’ll get into strange tangents(for example, in a conversation that’s too long, she starts going on and comparing it to how giraffe necks or elephant noses are too long). maybe not exactly something like that, but maybe you can relate to being a little odd in some areas !! i love that mango. and like, i don’t want to say “maybe you’re ~quirky~ because you use the ~melon emoji~” but at the same time... maybe you’re quirky because you use the melon emoji ? you’re gonna have to fill me in. ah or don’t !!! you don’t have to !!,, sdjf plus, i think that kotoko does fake her personality. in the art book, it’s implied that kotoko’s cutesy, cheerful personality is all a front. in fact, it’s specifically said by kotoko that without that character she plays, she would become miserable. she could also be joking here, or at least playing off her feelings as a joke, which relates to that self deprecating comment you said. she is definitely a liar, though... her ingame relationship with monaca is based off of her acting ability, at least until the end of it. 

i think that kotoko is very anxious. specifically around adults- she has a strong distrust of them due to her... upbringing, and a lot of her jokes are very dramatic( “Sorry for the intrusion, tank you veddy much! Phew, I reached waaay back for that reference! I had to deal with baby boomers all the time, so my gags are kinda dated.”). um, with the implication of her theatrics being a persona, it can also be implied that her jokes are also part of that mask... um, plus, i think that her general vibe doesn’t make her come off as self conscious per say. but you may be able to relate to that too... since while i don’t want to call either of you dishonest, the “bubbly” and “optimistic” demeanor you both give off is a facade, as you said. while her happy facade isn’t directly for other people, she does find value(to an extent) in cheering up monaca, and does care about the other warriors of hope. plus, a big part of why she wants to be strong is to surpass her upbringing, in my eyes. it’s kind of clear with her trauma that there’s something lurking under the surface, though- you may not have the same story as her, but there’s a similar concept there. while kotoko doesn’t have many hobbies... honestly, you’d be a bit pressed to find a danganronpa character who does. however, i think that aside from acting, she also has enjoyment in the fashion department, as well as enjoying things she deems “adorbs”. she collects said objects, and is like... a connoisseur of cute. a cutenoisseur, if you will. she may feel talentless to an extent, however, as she doesn’t seem to enjoy talking about her previous stage life despite claiming to adore it. it could be that the acting reminds her of the upbringing she lived through, but. lastly, i think that kotoko fakes being cheerful, polite, and bubbly around other people. though i’ve already talked about that haha,, she does get very cold, borderline rough, when she’s paranoid or upset. she mans a robot from god-knows-where to take down what she sees as threats, and does have an entire setup of lies that she presents to monaca in order to keep herself safe. she does also cry very often, and we don’t exactly know about her daydreaming, but she doesn’t seem to have the highest attention span- as i touched upon with her off-topic rambles.

please hear me out on this one... despite angie’s extroverted tendencies, i think that she is an introvert to an extent. for starters, she’s the ultimate artist, a very introverted activity. for the rest of your mbti type, um... while i won’t go over the P/J since that’s not really set in stone... in the N(intuitive) and F(feeling) aspects, i think that angie can shine. while angie is a very logical person, i think that this is mostly because of how in tune she is with her feelings regarding her religion. um... her intuition is very much to trust in what she believes her god can do for everyone.. sorry, i got a bit off topic there. in the enneagram types, i think there’s also some overlap between both of them that fits into angie as well. um, first off, 6w7 types fear losing their support system(which for you can be other people. i think angie’s is her religion, but you may be able to relate to her in this way, using “support system” as a concept, instead of religion vs relationships specifically.), devote themselves to specific causes, enjoy being around others, and care deeply for other people(see the student council, and her classmates in general). plus, the 5w6 types also tend to make logical decisions, feel stressed out by emotional vulnerability, can struggle to believe in or understand others, and prefer to do deeper thinking alone. while they have a bit of contrast in both of their descriptions, all of the listed traits apply to angie, and i assume that at least a few of them apply to you as well. though, your “probably” kind of makes me feel like you got more unrelated types on the enneagram test, haha... maybe you got a 3, or something? my point is, both types “combine” to make angie. the two of you, i think, lie about your personalities. some people even point out how angie’s constant smiling is eerie, but i don’t think she’s that happy all the time. this comic made by ministarfruit pretty much sums up how i see angie... not to be a stan or anything ajfsdjf,,,, she does lie to an extent though, and is chipper and eccentric for the sake of people around her. she’s essentially everyone’s “hope” in the face of the k/lling school semester- or at least, she tries to be.

um... despite us not really being able to see into her possibility of self loathing, shuichi(in her free time events) finds it likely that she becomes lonely very easily. she has a sickle ready to... well, stab into her window in case she feels sad- and in her free time events she seems very ready to do so. even if it is dismissed as a joke- which, that “joking” part i think you can relate to, actually. plus, the fact that she finds it hard to budge from her own views could possibly,, be a defense mechanism for insecurity... i don’t want to assume, but !! um, also, it’s strongly implied that she struggles to differentiate her god’s intentions from her own. even though religion can be part of someone’s self, yes, i think that this could show that she has issues with her identity. at least, the identity she has that’s “her own”. like, beyond how her god demands her to be. without her religion, she might struggle to have an identity of her own. once again... we don’t really know a lot about her past, but issues with the self can... definitely cause(or be caused by) anxiety, like you mentioned experiencing. also, identity issues can be caused by factors of one’s upbringing, or stressful events... so while she’s not very self deprecating, i think angie could have lower self esteem. whether that’s from her upbringing or something else. despite her pride in her religion, which might make you disagree, she doesn’t seem to be very proud of her own achievements(such as being the ultimate artist), as she says that that’s all her god’s work. maybe you could relate to that; people complimenting you and you finding it hard to accept for one reason or another. i’m proud of your achievements, anon... um. but i think that this relates to your next point, saying that you have several hobbies yet feeling talentless. while “art” technically is one hobby, art is definitely an umbrella term. sculpting and drawing are very different medias, and angie is very talented in both, but both of you share the belief that it’s not really... a talent that you possess. there,, might always be a reason that you come up with for someone else being able to do it too, you know? eh, but that could be me just guessing... oh, and something i forgot to mention- in trials, angie also becomes colder or more analytical when she’s trying to protect herself/classmates. she doesn’t hesitate to incriminate others if she thinks they’re suspicious.

Masaru Daimon

He has to admit, he didn’t think he’d look up to Komaru this much! He wasn’t used to girls being so brave and admirable like she was (though he wouldn’t say that in front of Kotoko or Monaca for fear of his life).

He really likes how she cares for all of them- he’s never really had anything like that before in his life. It’s always only been his friends that cared for him, and nobody else.

He wants to make Komaru proud of him! Of course, when she is he becomes such a blushing mess that Kotoko teases him, but it’s worth it.

Jataro Kemuri

He knows that Komaru probably wouldn’t want him near her- or at least he thinks that. She’s the first source of love (instead of hate) that he ever truly got apart from his four friends.

He draws her little pictures all the time of her in action, beating up the bad guys. She always accepts them with a smile, and has a whole folder filled with them.

It’s nice to not be hated every once in a while. He isn’t used to the attention she gives him at first, though she assures him it’s perfectly natural. He likes being liked by her, and really looks up to her.

Kotoko Utsugi

Komaru is just too adorbs for her! Kotoko really loves Komaru’s natural looks, and wants to be just like her when she grows up.

She makes sure that they have time to bond, like doing each other’s hair and nails. They have some pretty great talks, too, about crushes and other things that girls would talk about. Kotoko admittedly doesn’t know too well what that entails.

Of course, she’s able to pretend she doesn’t have an admiration crush on Komaru. She’s an actress, after all, and she’ll be darned if she goes off-script for this.

Nagisa Shingetsu

He gets embarrassed pretty easily around Komaru. She makes him feel like he’s more than just a student, more than an experiment. His parents never did that.

He’s considered giving her a couples flowers he found outside before, but knew that the other Warriors would find out and tease him endlessly about it. Plus, he had a certain reputation to uphold.

She reminds him that he doesn’t need to be perfect all the time. He doesn’t have to carry all of those expectations on his shoulders. And from her, he learns that he’s perfect the way he is.

Monaca Towa

Monaca never knew she needed someone like Komaru in her life, but now that she does, she’s become attached super quick.

She finds herself copying some little mannerisms Komaru has, and becoming an altogether brighter person because of Komaru’s influence.

So what if she might admire Komaru more than she originally thought. She was almost certain the other Warriors did, too, which made sense to her. They all deserved someone like Komaru to look up to.

Kotoko Utsugi One of Y/N’s favorite things about having taken in their younger sister was seeing Kotoko happy. Before it had been so few and far between to see her smile, a genuine smile at the very least. Now that it was them who was raising her, and not their shitty excuse for parents.

Kotoko loved dressing up, and they were so glad that wasn’t one of the things that caused her anxiety or panic attacks. That’s why the Halloween season was so great for the both of them, not to mention they were never able to properly celebrate any holidays. 

This was their first time just being the two of them for Halloween. It would be their first time for many upcoming holidays, but for now it was the spookiest holiday of them all. 

It started on October 1st, Y/N and Kotoko took a trip to a Halloween store and bought a few decorations (they wouldn’t be spending any extra money on costumes, mainly because they both had an abundance of theatre outfits, and Y/N was good at sewing). They spent time putting their new decor in the living room. Thanks to Kotoko’s eye for fashion, the room quickly became a spooktacular wonderland. 

October 2nd was one of Y/N’s favorites, they watched kids Halloween movies. Kotoko’s favorite was The Nightmare before Christmas, due to the musical aspects of it. 

October 3rd and 4th had both been spent with the two making their costumes. Kotoko wasn’t an expert yet, so if she had made any mistakes Y/N had come to her rescue. Both sibling’s fingers became numb and a bit sore, because they had gotten too ahead of themselves by trying to make their costumes in two days. 

October 5th was spent parading around in their new costumes, along with playing with their old ones. All the while Monster Mash had been their background music. The best part, in Kotoko’s opinion, was when Y/n was messing around and put on some of her heels, as a result they ended up falling flat on their face. Their only response being ‘I meant to do that’.

October 6th through 19th you guys gave it a rest, only because Kotoko was the lead in Jekyll & Hyde at school and Y/N had taken extra shifts at their job while Kotoko was busy. 

October 20th was Kotoko’s musical, and boy had she rocked it. Y/N new she was Lil’ Ultimate Drama for a reason, but they didn’t know what to expect when their adorbs little sister who was known for being cute planned on playing two versions of a male character.

October 21st Kotoko came home from school incredibly excited, having come up with the idea of having her friends from her class come over for a Halloween party. Y/N quickly got excited about the idea as well (mainly because Kotoko was smiling the whole time) and they went out shopping yet again for more decorations, and foods.

October 22nd had consisted of the two of you decorating again, but this time Kotoko’s friend Monaca had come to help and have a sleepover afterwards. However, the young girl mostly ended up cooking instead. Of course it was the simple things, like making cookies, and of course you had assisted with anything that could have gotten her hurt.

October 23rd was the day of the party. Y/n helped both girls get ready with their makeup, and then got ready themselves. Kotoko was wearing her old Butterfly dress, and Monaca was a witch. There had only been three other guests (excluding Monaca), but that was probably better due to the sibling’s smaller apartment. 

October 24th was spent recuperating from the party. So the two laid out on the couch while binge watching movies and pigging out on Monaca’s leftover cookies (the ones that Y/N had hidden, otherwise Masaru would have eaten them all, he practically ate them out of house and home).

October 25th Kotoko ended up in group detention with her friend’s. So Y/N ended up taking her out to go get ice cream after she got out. In order to make her day a little bit better. 

October 26th Kotoko had gotten home before Y/N, and they walked in on Kotoko blasting music from the Nightmare before Christmas again. They found out that her favorite song from it was Jack’s lament.

October 28th was dress-up day at school, Kotoko decided to wear her cat costume from one of her first plays she had been in. Apparently it was really popular with kids from the younger classes. 

October 30th the two siblings had gone to a small fair and gave out candy. Y/N discovered empty candy packets in Kotoko’s jacket pocket when they went to wash her clothes that night. 

Then the day finally came, October 31st. Kotoko was a princess and Y/N wore a prince costume for her. Of course the two had gone trick or treating together, and the amount of candy both of them had gotten ended up creating the ‘biggest candy mountain’ in existence.

Kotoko Utsugi

Having an older sibling to share her thoughts with were the best, she didn’t have to act around them and could truly be herself. All the emotions she showed were real, even if sometimes she’d have to break down crying, all of it was genuine.

You were as protective as you could be, but unfortunately you couldn’t do enough for her. More than anything, you wanted to get her away from all the bad things that happened to her. You were saving up the money so the two of you could run away, but due to still being too young to get a proper job that could pay more than minimum-wage and you were only able to get so many hours, that dream was far away.

It was rare but sometimes you were able to sneak her away from everything and spend the day with her. You’d spend the day spoiling her with whatever she wanted from the mall, which often added up but you didn’t mind. If it was to make her really happy, even for just a little while, it was worth it to see your little sister genuinely happy. 

“Look! Look!” You heard her call out to you as she ran up to the window of a children’s clothing store. After her eyes fully engulfed the beauty of what she had been looking at, she turned to you with a bright smile on her face. “Isn’t it just adorbs?” She asked, pointing towards a pink dress that it was in the window.

You glanced over to the dress that she had gotten to excited about, and you had to admit that she was right. It looked as if it were made for Kotoko, from the puffy skirt to the tasteful pink sequins. “Yeah it is pretty cute.” You told her, giving her a small pat on the head. “You wanna try it on?” 

“Really?” She asked excitedly, thinking that it would be too expensive so she hadn’t really asked but she did want to point it out. It couldn’t hurt to just try on, right?

You gave a happy nod. “Mhmm, come on.” You lightly adjusted your backpack before going inside the store, making sure that she was following behind you before going too far. 

It wasn’t long before you came out of the store with the pink dress and completely penniless, you could never tell your sister no even if she hadn’t even asked. She deserved nice things, and she deserved to be a kid. That’s all you wanted for her, so giving up money wasn’t that bad. 

Jataro Kemuri “What are you thinking about?” You called out to your little brother who had been absentmindedly staring out the window, it was something he did a lot when the two of you were alone. Even if the view outside of the shared room in your mother’s apartment (she spent a lot of time reminding the two of you it was hers, y’know in the few times she acknowledged the two of you) had simply been the brick wall of the apartment across from you, meaning there wasn’t much to look at. 

Moving the book you had been reading onto your lap, you curiously peered over at him. Despite it being the back of his head, you attempted to read his physical movements.

“I was just trying to figure it out...” He trailed off for a moment, almost forgetting to finish what he had been saying. “If you kissed a frog and it turned into a prince. Could you marry him?” Jataro asked, the tone of his voice sounded spacey. 

Laughing at his words, you got up from the bed and went over to him. “Why would you want me to do that?” You asked him, pulling him onto your lap. His back resting against your stomach as if you were a chair. 

“So we can leave Mama, and that way mama will be happy.” He said bluntly, his fabric covered fingers holding onto yours after they had wrapped around his shoulders. 

Your eyebrows furrowed, turning your head towards the brick building that was out the window. It was clear how your mother felt about the two of you, and it was clear that Jataro knew more than enough about his mother’s abuse. It just always hurt to know your younger brother was suffering, letting out a sigh you gripping onto his smaller hands. 

“It’ll be okay, one day the two of us can leave. We’ll let mama be happy and we can make ourselves a new life, a paradise, okay?” You asked, rubbing your thumb over where you assumed his knuckles were. 

“A paradise?”

Monaca Towa Even from outside of Towa Manor, despite the thick walls and insulation, one could hear the excited shrieks of two children even from the sidewalk. 

It had been a rare occasion where the two of you had been left alone, both your Father and Haiji had gone out to a meeting so the two of you had been left alone. Unbeknownst to you, this would probably be one of the only times you had left with her. 

She had just gotten her wheelchair, and out of worry that she would become depressed in her newfound state, you couldn’t just sit around and watch television with her. However, you two weren’t supposed to leave either which was a predicament. 

So you decided to bake with her, she had always shown a talent with baking so rather than ignore it like Father had; you wanted to help groom it, so the two of you would use up the flour quite a lot. Mainly due to the fact you would both get into little fights with the flour, at least when no one was home, and this was the cause of the pair of you. If anyone had been around to see it the two of you would never see the light of day again. 

After putting the cookies into the oven, you turned around to look at your sister. Her face was completely covered in white powder, causing you to give a lighthearted laugh. “You look ridiculous.” You said through piddles of laughter. 

“Oh yeah, I’m the one who looks ridiculous.” Monaca stared at you, but clearly laughing alongside you. However after a moment you realized you’d have to start cleaning, so you went to pick up a broom until-. “You don’t have to do that, Monaca can just have her invention help!” She told you, pressing a button on the remote in her pocket. Out walked the little black and white bear that was decked out in a maid outfit, it was all her design and you were so proud of her.

“I still can’t believe you made that.” You hummed, sitting on the counter as you observed the bear walking around. 

“It’s all thanks to Big Sis Ju- Monaca mean’s Big Sib Y/N!” She immediately corrected herself, causing you to give her a concerned glance. Who had she been talking about? “They’re part of the reason Monaca came up with it after all!”

If only you had asked her now, confronted her about it... Maybe then, you wouldn’t have met such an unfortunate fate.

Masaru Daimon When it comes to spending quality time with your little brother, there’s always one specific thing that he always wants to do with you. Something that makes your skin crawl... He wants you... To play sports.

You love your little brother to bits, and cherish all the time you have with him but unlike him you aren’t athletic in the slightest and he knows it. At this point you think that he asks you to play just so he can watch you struggle, and you wouldn’t hold it against him since... Watching you play was rather hilarious. 

Now was that time when you were able to go out by yourselves, you knew what was going to happen. It was like the feeling when you’re watching Jaws, you can hear the music playing and you know exactly what will happen but you’re still anxious. In this case, rather than music it was the sound of the loud steps Masaru took. 

Swiftly the door opened, hitting the door-stopper in the process which caused a thunderous ‘boom’ to echo through your mostly empty house. “Basketball!” He shouted, holding an orange ball over his head. He was equipped with his manly bandana and ready to go. 

You couldn’t tell him no, but you didn’t have to if you stayed silent. Even so, you watched as Masaru approached you and gently (but stubbornly) pressed the ball onto your face. “Common.” His voice dragged out as he momentarily took it off but then put it right back on your face after. “Loser buys winner ice cream.” 

‘Clearly he already knows I’m going to lose, for one thing he doesn’t have any money.’ You thought, sighing and finally responding to the eager beaver of a boy. “Fine, let’s go.” You told him, rolling your eyes playfully as he dragged out outside by your wrist. 

A few hours had past, and now the two of you sat inside a diner with ice cream placed in front of you. “Even if you weren’t the Super Duper Elementary level P.E., I still think you would’ve beaten me.” You say, licking your ice cream cone while trying to forget about the many, many bandages that had been pressed onto your skin. 

“Well duh, no offense big sib, but you have no idea what you’re doing. You don’t even know how to plant your feet, it’s how I knocked you over so many times.” He gave a blaring laugh. 

“Oh don’t worry, I know.”
