In 25 years we have given a space to alternative culture in Haarlem, culture city of North Holland and we collaborated with many artists, other initiatives, art schools and collectives all over the world. Soon we have to move within @gemeentehaarlem. We have proven to have strong Haarlem roots and international longterm collaborations that brought interdisciplinary art to the Netherlands. More spaces like us are disappearing. This event will show a long history of DIY exhibitions from Vide Cultura, towards to artspace we are now, supported by the Mondriaan Fund. Squatting always has been a kickstarter for alternative culture and made space for many famous initiatives that still exist today. Ondertussen in Den Haag: VVD en CDA hebben een nieuw wetsvoorstel waarin leegstaande panden die gekraakt zijn om in te wonen nog sneller te ontruimen dan nu al gebeurt. Blijkbaar gunt VVD en CDA mensen niet eens 8 weken een dak boven hun hoofd en vindt het nodig om de rechtsstaat verder te ondermijnen. Eigendom boven alles. De Raad voor de rechtspraak adviseert de Tweede Kamer met klem af te zien van het initiatiefwetsvoorstel om de handhaving van het huidige kraakverbod te wijzigen en daarmee snellere uitzetting van vermeende krakers mogelijk te maken. Zo blijkt uit een onlangs verschenen wetgevingsadvies. De Raad zet in het advies grote vraagtekens bij het nut, de noodzaak en haalbaarheid van dit wetsvoorstel. HALSEMA ONTRUIMT WONINGEN TIJDENS PANDEMIE- In Amsterdam heeft burgemeester Halsema woningen ontruimt in het midden van de coronapandemie. Een maand geleden werden vluchtelingen van de We Are Here groep op straat gezet, en deze week werden krakers in Oud-West opgepakt en aangeklaagd. In meerdere plekken van de stad werden banners opgehangen uit solidariteit. Onderdak is een basale behoefte. Stop het geweld tegen migranten en krakers! Gisteren heeft de anarcha-feministische groep de Sint Willibrordusstraat 15 gekraakt, waarvan de wereldwijde speculator Blackstone de eigenaar is. Dit gebouw staat al lange tijd leeg. Vandaag hebben wij een einde gemaakt aan die situatie van leegstand en speculatie, door dit huis te gebruiken waarvoor het bedoeld is: als een plek om te wonen. Fuck blackstone, eet de rijken! Stop speculatie, kraak de wereld Ons wordt verteld dat er niet genoeg huizen zijn voor iedereen, dat er niet genoeg ruimte is voor de vluchtelingen en migranten die vluchten voor imperialistische oorlogen en economieën die zijn verwoest door (neo)kolonialisme. Het is onacceptabel dat de media migratie de schuld geeft van het feit dat we allemaal moeite hebben om een huis te vinden. Er is geen ruimtegebrek, er is geen "wooncrisis", het enige probleem is de ongelijke verdeling van welvaart. Het probleem is kapitalisme. We worden uit onze stad verdreven door stijgende huurprijzen en gentrificatie. Sociale huurwoningen worden verkocht aan de private sector en het gebrek aan betaalbare woonruimte betekent dat mensen gedwongen zijn de stad te verlaten. Mensen hebben moeite de huur te betalen terwijl speculanten vrij spel krijgen om te doen wat ze willen. Dus laten we de straten en de leegstaande huizen terugnemen!
