I drew the whole Scarlet team this time! And it took a whooping 2-3 days or so 💀💀

With my flu/cold, and all these other issues I've been battling.. I just can't sit at my desk long enough to draw anything. Which is very unfortunate because drawing on paper takes me sooooo longgg.. and it's so tedioussss.. 😭

I long for my drawing tablet and FireAlpaca.. 😔 someday my friend, I will return to you someday.. 💔💔

Have you done a kricketune line review?

Kricketot has such a good design, and I feel like it's majorly overlooked when people talk about cute 'mons. Look at this little guy! They make xylophone noises! Which both works well as a theme and ties into how crickets "make music" with their wings.

Visually, I really like how it has a sort of orchestra member vibe with it's little tailed "coat" and stripes down the front, both of which get expanded upon with Kricketune. The little collar around its neck is also adorable. As an added bonus, the antennae on its head basically flip upside-down when it evolves to form Kricketune's mandible 'stache, which is a really great way to visually connect the two.

I also really like the palettes of both of these guys. The soft reds combined with the cream and black really feels music-y in a way that I can't articulate but I really like.

Kricketune (which ironically is more of a violin beetle than a cricket) is also a pretty perfect evo, in that in expands upon Kricketot's orchestra and music theme by becoming both a violin and an orchestra conductor at once. It also looks more powerful, but there's plenty of similar visual elements (like the colors, mustache, front stripes, etc.) to make the two feel like they belong togther.

Once again, I love how many things are going on in this design—its arms work as violin bows, the stripes on its front look like strings, and its mandibles not only look like a mustache, but also are the f-hole patterns that you see on a violin. Just great stuff all around.

My only nitpick is that the lower body looks a tad busy. The black dots on the sides are probably meant to mimick the indents on the side of a violin, but the area below is more vague. I guess it could be the chin rest, but that raises the question of why it's two colors. I feel like making the wings the cream color and making that section all-black and one piece might've read a little more clearly. Otherwise, a very fun design and some really great 'mons overall.

Also, I'm morally obligated to point out that Kricketune has the best cry of any Pokemon. DELELELELE WOOOOP indeed
