Hmmm I think it depends on the age of Jack. Cuz his interests could change and adapt over the years! Defo had a bug interest, which I have a hc that Aaron also had a bug phase as a kid and still likes insects and such, he just doesn’t have the time to rly indulge in reading abt them anymore. (Based off those pics of TG holding a millipede and a praying mantis) But he defo has a tie with little beetles on that he and Jack picked out, and Jack has a shirt with different insects on with the name of them under each image. And they defo obvs had a Spider-Man theme going on too, so Aaron had a tie with a lil Spider-Man logo on it.

He keeps all the ties in a little box in his bedside drawer and when he’s going through a hard time wondering if he’s even a good dad or not, he opens the drawer to look at all the little gifts he’s gotten from Jack, along with the box of ties 🥺

I think bc mirage can love someone so ..finite? Attempts at setting explanations to Rouxls’es behavior and role in the game (for myself) (headcanons?) :

* Rouxls was designated by the Spades King because he was considered the most useless card therefore “not someone who could pose any threat for the King’s position”

* Susie’s behavioral pattern low key reminded Lancer of Rouxls because Rouxls has trouble with admitting his attachment to people and has rather short temper but he is not needlessly cruel (aka he’s a ...tsundere) . That was parts why Lancer wasn’t phased by Susie’s tsundere bevahior

Susie to lancer: “Hey Lancer, Kris wanted to say bye to you!Huh?!I mean...I didn’t NOT want to! “

Rouxls about lancer: “Our relation is NONE, you little water-beetle! I placate you for your Father's sake!  ...  How is he, anyhow? “

* Rouxls has severe trouble with setting his priorities in life. He seems to have not yet discovered what he wants to do and rather tries to stick to others, especially to powerful figures, more out of panic or fear of being insignificant and helpless. He was probably someone very insignificant before King designated him as the duke of puzzles, and it was the first time Rouxls ever got a role, so he clings to his title for dear life and is desperate to not lose his role as a minion.

* In addition to “trouble with setting priorities” : Rouxls can’t decide if emotional connection or his position are more important. Or he has struggle with setting his thinking process in order; I thought about it because in chapter 2, when Ralsei told him about Lancer, he looked like he really forgot about his plan and focused on Lancer  for a moment

* Rouxls influenced Lancer’s character way more than the Spades King did - because Lancer presumably spent more time around Rouxls. I assumed that because the King seemed too closed off, and also judging from the game itself:

Lancer wanders around alone, pretty far from the castle (implication that he is not allowed to be near his dad too much?)

he has a habit of making random signs and putting them all over the place, similarly to Rouxls writing messages in random places

Lancer gives loud goofy speeches rather than serious and hateful speech that King gave in game; Rouxls gives goofy speech also. Rouxls has a tendency to call everyone “worms” and Lancer calls everyone “clowns”

Lancer makes a “handsome” face sometimes. Well..who has the “pretty face”- (he even said “Ahahahah!” when he made a “handsome” face in game) Rouxls literally laughs in that manner

 *“That was my son’s... LESSER father.” Spades King said that line with such a grim expression. And he didnt even refer to Rouxls as “the Duke”. Could it be because King feels angry at the fact that Rouxls was a “bad influence” to Lancer. He wanted his son to be hateful and strong, and his son tunred out to be a goofy child who randomly calls people “clowns”, laughs and puts signs everywhere..
