One of my sisters got me Cat’s Cosmic Atlas for my birthday. It’s tomorrow but we celebrate early if it’s not on the weekend.

It’s a super cute and fun game so far. I haven’t played a space game in a long time. The last one was Magic School Bus Explores the Solar System (1994) and Pluto was still considered a planet back then!

You can fly through the solar system in the game. I was trying to find the Kuiper Belt and found a black hole.

If you go inside you’re taken back to the inner planets. If black holes weren’t inescapable and deadly that would be pretty handy in real life.

You can give the planets a hug! (I’ll just pretend I gave Pluto a hug too.)

You can also visit constellations in the Northern and Southern skies.

It’s on Steam too if anyone wants to check it out. My sister also got me Little Mouse’s Encyclopedia which is more of a nature hike game which I also love. It looks a bit like Alba’s Wildlife Adventure, which was a fun game too.

Locked Tomb Timeline, as far as I can tell

This is a long one, and a bit of a mess. I'll be making other posts about the fun date coincidences and my speculations about their implications, but I figured I should give some of the actual evidence in one solid chonky post so I can link to it and don't need to repeat myself later on.

(BD = before death of the earth; AR = after resurrection; BM = before millennium, AM = after millennium)

Unspecified Pre-Death of the earth: Foundation of Canaan house/the facility that Jod et al used for the cryogenic experiments. Establishment of Kuiper installation, Uranus platform, Mars installation w/ room for 5 million, the Lucifer Telescope, and fusion batteries (Ntn 14, Ntn 74, Ntn 189)

Now, the most unclear section of the timeline: the resurrection and its immediate aftermath.

Augustine, from Htn 176: “Alfred and I were there early enough to found the Koniortos Court on the Fifth, but Lyctors like Cyth wouldn’t be born for years and years, and she spent her whole life suffering Seventh House woo-woo theories regarding the value of hereditary cancer … whereas Mercy is the oldest lag except for me, and she was out hammering at the Eighth House before the paint was even dry on the Resurrection.”

The resurrection occurs a few weeks after the death of the earth (Ntn 396). Then things get a bit hazy. We know the approximate order of the resurrections of the original ten disciples, but not how far apart they were staggered - was it minutes? Months? Years?

Similarly, Cyrus/Val and Anastasia/Samael are implied to have showed up before Cytherea/Loveday, when Cytherea was almost 30 years old. Both cavaliers have last names associated with their house, which suggests that either the third and ninth were established enough to at least have a small population by the time that they went to Canaan House, or that they took those names/were given those names later on.

Cytherea-as-Dulcinea says that she "dreamed of being a 9th nun" at age 13, and it's unclear if she's speaking as herself or as Dulcinea or how much she was lying as either persona (Gtn 104). Thus, we don't know if the ninth house was established by the time she went to Canaan House, though it seems like the sort of hint that both Cytherea and Muir would have had a fun time dropping.

Thus, while it is possible/seems probably many/most of the houses were established by the time that any of the newer disciples showed up, especially Cytherea, that is unconfirmed. However, it took until at least 30 years after the resurrection, probably more, for all 16 of the disciples to gather.

A rough order of events during this time, some of which may overlap:

Original disciples resurrected

New disciples arrive

Lyctors ascend; Anastasia fails

Alecto is put in the tomb and Cassiopeia dies

The lyctors and Jod flee to the Mithraeum, leaving the system

Particular questions that remain and would help clarify things:

Were Anastasia, Samael, Cyrus, Valancy, and Loveday born or resurrected? It seems like Cytherea was likely born.

When did Anastasia have a child and found the tombkeeper line?

When did Pyrrha (or G1deon!Pyrrha) paint a nursury? Was it the same time she visited Anastasia "before she got settled" (Ntn 85)? Was Anastasia's child the birth she assisted at (Ntn 121)?

When was the ninth founded? When was the prison installation founded? Was there anything on the ninth before Anastasia was told to prepare for Alecto's imprisonment? Samael seems to have been born or resurrected after the ninth was founded, unless he was given his name later?

After resurrection: Actual Numbers. Once we get like 100-200 years out from the resurrection, things start to get clearer. Not clear, but clearer.

100 AR: God names himself Gaius (Htn 521). Is this when Cytherea ascends, since she is given credit for the "naming oneself after one's cavalier" thing? Or was that some God bullshit?

200 AR: Alecto put in tomb (Htn 478)

4000 AR: source gram comes from sixth house to BOE (Htn 529)

5000 AR: BOE comes to the attention of jod and the lyctors; they may have existed beforehand but been unable to find the houses/be found (Htn 154). Augustine begins questioning the purpose of the empire (Htn 483).

Moving into the thousand years before the events of the series:

34 BM: Wake reinvigorates BOE (Htn 154). Ortus born? That’s a fun coincidence that means nothing.

30 BM: Mercy thinks Jod should have returned to the Mithraeum then (Htn 81).

25-24 BM: BOE finds out about resurrection beasts (Htn 275) because Wake talks to G1deon (Ntn 155)

21 BM: G1 begins his (final) pursuit of wake (Htn 469)

Sometime after 300 BM, most likely 20 BM, Cytherea teaches BOE about steles and obelisks (Ntn 155)

20 BM approximately, presumably, could be earlier: Augustine and Mercy talk to BOE. BOE gets accurate fleet schematics for the first time in a hundred years and eventually the location of the mithraeum, though those were probably earlier with Cytherea and two decades later with Cytherea!Wake respectively (Ntn 155)

19 BM: Isaac’s dad killed by terrorists on [redacted], presumably BOE (Gtn 459). Mercy and Augustine are “talking” (Htn 87); Dios apate major. Mercy sees Cytherea for the last time and Cytherea laughs so much she insults Mercy (Htn 120), which is an understandable response given that Mercy may have described the dios apate major plan and/or requested her involvement. Mercy sees Sarpedon as a young soldier (about 20 years PM; close enough and matches up with dios apate) (Htn 81).

19–18 BM: Wake dies (Htn 88). Gideon born. Creche massacre.

17 BM: Harrow born.

14 BM Gideon’s first escape attempt (Gtn 24)

According to Judith, that is. Judith honey I might need to recuse your testimony for somehow being more of an unreliable narrator than the lobotomized traumatized psychotic unmedicated half-dead triple-haunted 201-souled Harrowhark Nonagesimus. Then I could bump this back to month 8 which would make more sense.

Month 10: Harrow catches G1d!Pyrrah with Cytherea!Wake

Between Month 10 and Month 12: Harrow turns 18. Harrow discovers G1d can drain thanergy. Harrow makes soup. Harrow makes Ianthe’s arm. Dios apate minor.

Month 12: Harrow finds Cam and Pal on a wooded planet and sees Judith. Judith tries to warn Harrow about Mercy’s involvement.

Mercy ditches her for unspecified business. I suspect this is when she meets with We Suffer? Was this when she heals Judith?

1 AM

Month 2: death of the emperor. Quick undeath of the emperor. Nona born(?)

Month 5: Station Red-As-Blood abandoned (Ntn 152). The demons show up on Antioch (Ntn 448).

So I wanna tell y'all about something very near and dear to my heart.

This is the Psyche asteroid, or, at least an artist's representation - we don't know what it actually looks like yet, but this is a fair enough guess. It's a roughly 200 mile wide asteroid in the asteroid belt, and it's made almost entirely out of metal. Its composition makes it unique; it’s the only large metallic body we know of in the entire solar system.

We think it might be the core of what used to be a planet.

When solar systems form, they start out as disks made of interstellar gas and dust, called protoplanetary disks. Here's a picture of HL Tauri, one of the best images of a protoplanetary disk we have.

That dust globs together into larger and larger pieces, and eventually forms hundreds of "planetesimals", which are rocky bodies about a kilometer across. Planetesimals had very erratic orbits compared to the modern planets - the dust of the protoplanetary disk caused friction and drag, which threw them off course.

They frequently collided with each other, and either broke apart or stuck together and grew even larger. Arrokoth is actually a leftover planetesimal, a time capsule from the early solar system, and we were able to visit it wayyy out in the Kuiper belt with the New Horizons probe!

Once planetesimals get to be about the size of the moon, we call them "protoplanets". Protoplanets were fundamentally different from their planetesimal siblings - we believe they were differentiated. When an object in space gets big enough, a combination of radioactive decay, impacts, and gravitational pressure causes them to heat up and melt. Denser materials like iron and nickel sink towards their centers, while the lighter materials rise to the surface. The differentiation process is why Earth's core is made of iron, while the surface is primarily rock.

While protoplanet orbits were much more stable than those of planetesimals, they still eventually collided with each other until everything settled into the planets we see today (though gas giants had a few extra steps - that's a different post!).

We think the Psyche asteroid was a protoplanet, well on its way to becoming a bona fide planet, when an impact struck it hard enough to strip away its rocky layers, leaving behind the dense, metallic core - like in this illustration.

More and more, we think  the properties of a planet's core are fundamental to its long-term evolution. Venus, Earth, and Mars are all roughly the same size and roughly the same distance from the sun, cosmically speaking, yet they're so different! Venus has hell death clouds, Earth is home, and Mars is dry and dead - why?

The Psyche asteroid gives us the unique opportunity to actually observe a planetary core directly - it's much harder to dig to the center of a planet than it is to go to space, so that's exactly what we're going to do!

I've seen a lot of people advocate for Pluto to be Cleo's celestial symbol mainly it's not a "real" planet (there's a couple of other arguments but not the point of this post), and neither is Real life a "real" life series because it was an april fools joke. Now, I've had one chapter of cosmologie in geography this school year and I need to talk about why Pluto isn't a real planet and why it definitely should not be classified as one. This barely has anything to do with the life series except for it being the motivation, but hey! if you like space, go ahead and read this

Let's start off by listing some of the requirements for something to be classified as a planet:

The object orbits around the sun

It has to have enough mass to form itself into sphere shape with it's own gravity

It has to have cleaned all rubble in its orbit

Pluto does orbit around the sun and is a sphere shape, however its orbit is full of rubble. This is because it is situated in the Kuiper belt, which is full of rocks and icy objects. Pluto is simply too small to clear its path.

There is, however, another thing that makes Pluto an oddball. All of the planets in our solar system orbit on the same plane: the ecliptic plane. And, you guessed it, Pluto does not.

You can see that Pluto's orbit is a bit ... diagonal, to say the least.

(Little clarification about the image: it is normal for planets to have an oval orbit where the sun is not in the middle. Our very own earth has that.)

If one were to classify Pluto as a planet, a ton of other dwarf planets, such as Ceres (located in the astroid belt), would also have to become planets.

And that is why Pluto is not a real planet, no quotes around the real needed.

glad to hear!! there already has been some tidbits of it posted here such as this and that— and also kind of want to elaborate on my personal interpretations and additional ideas of ‘moons’

the lore i mentioned i want to end up visualizing stuff from much earlier in the past, to the events of MMV, and then after, and I have some key things that i already have jotted down so i’ll just drop in what i have so far. (not the best grammar since they’re notes i put down)

Moons/STN

In line with the titles, these are artificial beings in the same species category as Stardroids, entities also created by the supercomputer Ra Moon. They are specified and sorted to a corresponding commander equivalent to the planets of the solar systems and their moons– they are of a lower rank than the typical Stardroid. However, they are not Kuiperdroids either, as they are distinct in their builds and not often produced in mass. Their abilities also correspond to the schematics of their commanders, boosting their specialties to make for more effective combat. Moons don’t have the same authoritative power as their commanders, so they work with Kuiperdroids also.

Moons while not as often as a Kuiper, remain more expendable than a Stardroid, and they don’t get replaced as often, mostly because they end up lasting a bit longer. Some might just end up as materials to be connected to another.

In the Case of Dione

Dione is one of many Saturn’s moons made also by RM after taking the reins over their initial creators, though a huge error and anomaly with her concerns her general structure and lack of a special ability, etc. It was unknown on how RM, a self-proclaimed perfect being ended up messing up for just specifically this creation — labeling her as a defect.

Since this was in the more earlier stages of developing their units they couldn’t be bothered to dispose of her right away nor command another to destroy her. The only thing that managed to keep her around was her skill of support/repairs. She could act as walking extra energy source to help replenish an ally, added with the fact that she made efficient repairs and maintenance.

Other than that, she had nothing to defend herself with. It was anticipated by RM (and maybe other stardroids) that she’d eventually crumble on her own at some point and there’d be no significant change after. Not only did all of this start a subtle downfall of her self worth it also grew a rather strong desire to be useful and a fear of severe disapproval from their superiors. She is especially dedicated and grateful to Saturn, however, for seeing her uses.

Anytime there was damage done to her, a crack, etc, she’d repair herself. In the process, over time, she drastically modified herself to fit her purposes (and maybe personal preferences) but somehow, never could be able to ‘fix’ her obvious errors.

As time passed on with countless battles of conquest, it also came as an expense for the other moons of Saturn and plenty of other units. Years of seeing her own perish before her very eyes or brought back as scrap, Dione’s mental state only worsened from the fact that her, a weak link barely holding on to life, was outliving so many others who were optimally able to do what she couldn’t— and that even included a sibling that she was close to.

Not wanting to be weakened or deemed an obstacle for her strange tendency to sympathize, Dione shut off most of her emotions. The desire to be useful and help her subordinates and superiors remained (especially for Saturn, who also suffered greatly from the many losses of his moons and grew desensitized), but she grew no longer concerned of an inevitable demise whether done by her own kind or through many battles to come.

She waited and even actively anticipated for her end to come sooner— but somehow, it never happened. And all she could do from then on was continuing what she did best, repairing, providing.

some people argue that the "end" would be around the kuiper belt! since that's the edge of the heliosphere, and that's what makes up a Solar System, that tethering to The Sun

some take it further and speculate that it's the oort cloud (that is the real name) (I cannot make this up) because it's a sort of divide between our star and a different one. like the outermost part that takes things beyond the kuiper belt into account

Their duty lies in guarding the solar system's outskirts, extending to the colonies of the Kuiper Belt. The Plutonians are the first to detect and engage any potential threat to their home. Cloaked in secrecy, their protective actions remain unknown to the outside world. They are the eternal sentinels, perpetually vigilant, ensuring their realm remains untouched by any aggressor's hand.

Following Pluvian customs, the mightiest among them assumes leadership, earning the title of the Prince of Charon, the Night Haunter. ‘Bouncing’ comets could deliver building blocks for life to exoplanets - Technology Org

How did the molecular building blocks for life end up on Earth? One long-standing theory is that comets could have delivered them. Now, researchers from the University of Cambridge have shown how comets could deposit similar building blocks to other planets in the galaxy.

In order to deliver organic material, comets must travel relatively slowly – at speeds below 15 kilometres per second. At higher speeds, the essential molecules would not survive – the speed and temperature of impact would cause them to break apart.

The most likely place where comets can travel at the right speed are ‘peas in a pod’ systems, where a group of planets orbit closely together. In such a system, the comet could essentially be passed or ‘bounced’ from the orbit of one planet to another, slowing it down.

At slow enough speeds, the comet would crash on a planet’s surface, delivering the intact molecules that researchers believe are the precursors for life. The results, reported in the Proceedings of the Royal Society A, suggest that such systems would be promising places to search for life outside our Solar System if cometary delivery is important for the origins of life.

Comets are known to contain a range of the building blocks for life, known as prebiotic molecules. For example, samples from the Ryugu asteroid, analysed in 2022, showed that it carried intact amino acids and vitamin B3. Comets also contain large amounts of hydrogen cyanide (HCN), another important prebiotic molecule. The strong carbon-nitrogen bonds of HCN make it more durable to high temperatures, meaning it could potentially survive atmospheric entry and remain intact.

“We’re learning more about the atmospheres of exoplanets all the time, so we wanted to see if there are planets where complex molecules could also be delivered by comets,” said first author Richard Anslow from Cambridge’s Institute of Astronomy. “It’s possible that the molecules that led to life on Earth came from comets, so the same could be true for planets elsewhere in the galaxy.”

The researchers do not claim that comets are necessary to the origin of life on Earth or any other planet, but instead they wanted to place some limits on the types of planets where complex molecules, such as HCN, could be successfully delivered by comets.

Most of the comets in our Solar System sit beyond the orbit of Neptune, in what is known as the Kuiper Belt. When comets or other Kuiper Belt objects (KBOs) collide, they can be pushed by Neptune’s gravity toward the Sun, eventually getting pulled in by Jupiter’s gravity. Some of these comets make their way past the Asteroid Belt and into the inner Solar System.

“We wanted to test our theories on planets that are similar to our own, as Earth is currently our only example of a planet that supports life,” said Anslow. “What kinds of comets, travelling at what kinds of speed, could deliver intact prebiotic molecules?”

Using a variety of mathematical modelling techniques, the researchers determined that it is possible for comets to deliver the precursor molecules for life, but only in certain scenarios. For planets orbiting a star similar to our own Sun, the planet needs to be low mass and it is helpful for the planet to be in close orbit to other planets in the system. The researchers found that nearby planets on close orbits are much more important for planets around lower-mass stars, where the typical speeds are much higher.

In such a system, a comet could be pulled in by the gravitational pull of one planet, then passed to another planet before impact. If this ‘comet-passing’ happened enough times, the comet would slow down enough so that some prebiotic molecules could survive atmospheric entry.

“In these tightly-packed systems, each planet has a chance to interact with and trap a comet,” said Anslow. “It’s possible that this mechanism could be how prebiotic molecules end up on planets.”

For planets in orbit around lower-mass stars, such as M-dwarfs, it would be more difficult for complex molecules to be delivered by comets, especially if the planets are loosely packed. Rocky planets in these systems also suffer significantly more high-velocity impacts, potentially posing unique challenges for life on these planets.

The researchers say their results could be useful when determining where to look for life outside the Solar System.

“It’s exciting that we can start identifying the type of systems we can use to test different origin scenarios,” said Anslow. “It’s a different way to look at the great work that’s already been done on Earth. What molecular pathways led to the enormous variety of life we see around us? Are there other planets where the same pathways exist? It’s an exciting time, being able to combine advances in astronomy and chemistry to study some of the most fundamental questions of all.”

15810 Arawn

15810 Arawn (Pluto’s New Playmate ~ 5 Feb 2017, Philip Sedgwick)

The Kuiper Belt Object formerly known as Minor Solar System Body 15810 recently received the name Arawn. Discovered in 1994 (1994JR1) this Kuiper body was one of the first to come to our awareness. With an orbital period of 248.07 years, Arawn orbits in Pluto’s realm.

Could it be that we now have three Plutos? According to Welsh mythology, Arawn ruled the Celtic otherworld, Annwn. He allegedly set loose the Cwn Annwn, the dogs of the underworld, to hunt mundane creatures.

If one hears the howling of these “Hounds of Hell” presumably death is foretold. The dogs are associated with migrating geese whose nocturnal honking sounds similar to barking in the darkness. Ironically, it is told the sounds of these hounds are louder at a distance and become softer as they come near. A song from a few years back comes to mind: “Who Let the Dogs Out?” and what underworldly shenanigans does that act of letting portend?

Arawn’s orbital period is reasonably close to that of Pluto, thus the underworldly moniker. More notable, presently Arawn transits 16 Capricorn 07, relatively near Pluto’s position at naming and will maintain reasonable zodiacal proximity with Pluto over the long haul. No doubt more than a convenient coincidence. Arawn and Pluto (orbital period of 247.74 yrs) are likely essentially conjunct in all our natal charts.

So now we have Pluto and we have Orcus, the “other Pluto” according to Mike Brown - the Etruscan lord of the Underworld. Add to this Arawn, who steps with Pluto, virtually hand in hand, through the celestial circle. It is a celestial trifecta of Pluto and his playmates and more, Pluto now tolerates a shadowing companion in addition to his moons.

Arawn will distinguish himself from Pluto and Orcus by his double fire orbital elements. He crosses the ecliptic at 24 Leo 42 (heliocentric north node) and ambles closest to the Sun at 6 Sagittarius 35. Pluto’s node is Cancer and perihelion is Scorpio (double water); Orcus’ node is Sagittarius and his perihelion Pisces (one fire, one water). Arawn is small, probably 70 km in diameter so there’s no chance he will achieve coveted dwarf planet status. Despite his size, he adds a level of subconscious substrate or unconscious stirring.

Arawn deals with ego/soul issues due to his Leonine node and weaves the sense of self within the core belief system one possesses as an operational philosophy as a function of the Sagittarian perihelion. The boldness and brightness of flares, flames and fires highlight the essence of Arawn’s intent. Since he is an underworld deity, the issues beneath the surface are: What really makes this person tick? Really? What is the true reason/cause/intention behind ones stated beliefs? Truly?

Given the otherworld double dip granted by Arawn and Pluto so near to one another, is it time to pause and ask one more question to ensure the motives of others with whom you engage are clear? Absolutely! Should we listen carefully for subtext? Yes. Is it important to realize that in between the words the true meaning may roam? You bet. Does everything that causes a reaction of inner stirring - whether a positive inspiration or a worrisome wonder - deserve dedicated duo diligence? More so now than ever!

In the category of what it is worth, the name Arawn was posted on the Minor Planet Center’s website in temporal proximity to the U.S. Presidential inauguration. No matter what one feels about the new president, he certainly does the Leo-Sagittarius axis with great skill. Is it soulful confidence or ego? Are his doctrines flaring thoughts and ego driven reaction or premeditated platforms with impeccable planning? Perhaps only the lords of the underworld know for sure.

As we go forward from here, Arawn summons each person dip deeper into the unconscious for a clear sense of deeply developed beliefs which renders a pure soulful confidence that emanates wherever one wanders.
