Modern BBC Merlin AU where instead of sorcerers they're vampires and Arthur is just as oblivious that his roommate Merlin is hiding anything from him. Bonus points if the Pendragons are vampire hunters.

Leon: Why does Merlin never have lunch with us? Arthur: He usually sleeps in because he stays up way too late. We'll see him around dinner time.

Gwaine: Are you sure you don't want to head to the beach with us? Arthur, answering for Merlin: Look at how pale he is, he'll burn right up. Not to mention the sun hurts his "sensitive" eyes. Lancelot: *sweats*

Uther: Arthur, why did you remove the crosses and other protections on your apartment? Arthur: Oh, religion makes my roommate uncomfortable.

Lancelot: Wow, you're so brave! You didn't even hesitate to throw yourself in danger.

Merlin: That's because I have no regard for my own personal safety. You can ask Arthur.

Arthur: I have never been more stressed in my entire life.

Merthur Idea (so feel free to ignore if you don’t wanna read all of this)

Can you imagine if like, in one of the MANY magical shenanigans Merlin gets into and thinks he has to go off and die for Arthur, Lancelot tells Arthur what Merlin plans to do?

Like say it’s some canon-divergent AU and Merlin is going to go off and fight some big bad or try and trade his life for Arthur. He says his goodbyes to everyone in the castle: Gaius, Gwen, Morgana, Gwaine, Arthur. He hopes Gaius gets the letter he wrote to his mother

And when Merlin says bye to Lancelot, Lance knows something is wrong. Knows Merlin’s keeping something from him and is worried immediately. It isn’t until Lancelot speaks to Arthur that he puts it together.

Arthur tells Lancelot about Merlin seeming weird to him too. Seeming too sincere, too nice before leaving to Ealdor for his ailing mother. Lancelot knows Hunith isn’t sick and realizes: Merlin’s gone on a stupid, idiotic journey to lay down his life.

Lancelot doesn’t tell Arthur of Merlin’s magic but does tell him that Merlin doesn’t intend on returning and is in fact planning to die so ofc our favorite Pendragon gathers all his knights and goes after Merlin.

As they’re traveling, Arthur is so upset by the last conversation he had with Merlin bc that moron actually planned to die and didn’t bother to tell him? Didn’t bother to let Arthur say goodbye and talk him out of this fool’s quest?

While on the journey, Arthur learns that this isn’t the first time Merlin’s done something stupid like this and wonders what else Lancelot knows that Merlin is keeping from him.

Although Mertyl's transformation was a bit short to my taste, this was still a very heartwarming chapter and I'm glad to see the family issues being resolved .

This chapter has made one thing clear, King and Diane are amazing parents and Mertyl is a very good kid ( sorry for bashing you in the past 🤣💀 )

But I think the cat is outta the bag for Nasiens lol, look at his impassive face and the way Tioreh is staring at him . I think the boy is putting two and two together .

Boy I can't wait to see the conclusion of this arc with both King and Sixtus being in action and the talk that Nasiens will probably have with Kiane .

Merlin Soulmate AU where there's a string of fate that only Sorcerers can see. He is obviously connected to Arthur, because two sides of a coin their destiny is intertwined etc etc.

He one day off-handedly mentions it in a conversation with Gaius, who suddenly seems Very Interested in what colour the string is.

Merlin: It's red and gold because he's a Pendragon, that's like their whole thing. Even with your old eyesight you can see the banners around the castle come on-

Gaius, who stopped listening at 'Red' and is trying to process Merlin not only liking men, but his romantic soulmate being the Once and Future King: uh huh, yeah.

Merlin, three weeks later: Hey, why is Lancelot and Gwen's string also Red? Is Lancelot actually a Pendragon?!

Gaius, who's life is flashing before his eyes:
