I just finished Tulin's storyline and excuse me while I bawl about this game further cementing the fact that Revali made himself a Champion. He was no descendant of an ancient Sage nor did he have a loving family to train him (that we know of). There was no power destined to be his: he crafted his own version of wind control without any support or spiritual guidance and excelled at it and then he and the other Champions went into battle without the special helms, without a sacred tear/charm to further enhance his abilities, without the certainty of two rulers (and a sage from the future) with god-like powers that could back them up if things went awry. Because of this, the original Sages survived where the Champions did not.

Revali was doomed from the start and if he'd known he would've still honed his craft and piloted Medoh with his beak held high and I am in shambles about it

I am curious how they're gonna handle Cads in the show. Cause like it would track if they gave her more nuance like they've been doing with the other AS in the show but at the same time if show Cadsuane isn't abusive then she's not really Cadsuane to me

And I feel like her actually being abusive towards Rand is important to highlight how much she isn't Moiraine

And with them making Rand and Moiraine's relationship arguably more positive than in the books that will stick out a lot more

I’ve been in a writing slump, but challenged myself to come up with at least 7 sentences for today. I’m quite proud of myself! A fresh snippet of you’re where I wanna go (follows this snippet)

“Do you think he’s going to be okay?”

“Let’s hope so.”

“Somebody’s got to be missing him.”

Buck drifts in and out of consciousness, noting the unfamiliar voices — just two he thinks — around him. His body is heavy with exhaustion, too much to be able to open his eyes or make any sound of acknowledgment. He’s also vaguely aware of the throbbing pain at his left eye and a dull, though no less intense, ache in his stomach.

“Why don’t you go back to bed, get a few more hours. I’ll keep watch in case he wakes up.”

The intent doesn’t sound malicious or make Buck think he’s in any danger. But he’s certainly made that mistake before.

“Bobby, are you sure? I don’t mind staying here with you. You know what? Never mind, I’ll make some tea.” A pause. “Not sure I could sleep anymore anyway.”

There’s a soft, familiar noise, like a gentle affection infused kiss, followed by retreating footsteps. If he wasn’t already in so much pain — disoriented from whiskey, numbing cold, and heartbreak — that tender gesture might be the thing that sends him over the edge. A show of love and devotion that he’d had. A comfort that was stolen from him time and time again. Although, sometimes it was never his to begin with.

A swelling pang in his chest tries to take over, but he’s too broken and weary. It’s quickly squashed under a fresh wave of fatigue he readily succumbs to.

idc about anything but the oaks right now. not even grant or nick rn i literally just cannot stop thinking about mercedes and lark and sparrow and normal and hero and :(((

i am going to go so fucking hard into my oak centric fics (sparrow </3) if i can get the willpower to write within the next few days we will SEE.. . hmm. i also just think overall i am the happiest with how the oaks arc ended .

i think will campos knocked this episode (and just normal's character in general ) out of the park. the ending showing that normal isn't particularly happy reconnecting with a place that hurt him is So important to me actually. sometimes healing is forgiving/making peace with the people and places and things that hurt you. but also sometimes healing is accepting that you don't Have to.

also i think it's especially important to point out that like. normal is Sad, yeah, but he's not letting that stop him from doing things? he's not limiting himself with those emotions and i think that is such an important step for his character, actually! especially coming from a household with lark and sparrow who were almost always controlled by their emotions (specifically their fear).

to only ever see people succumb to their emotions or suppress them entirely, and to decide for Himself that he is going to work alongside them instead, actually!. he doesn't shove down all his negative emotions and pretend to be happy nor does he let it entirely consume his night. he just. is sad . and you know what? he can go have fun with his friends anyway.! and he does!
