So, I got back into The Bad Batch weeks ago. Idek how I got out of it, it was probably the hiatus. BUT ANYWAY. I binged all of Season 2, up until Episode 8(?), and then I've been caught up weekly ever since.

Hey everyone! For those who don’t know me, my name is Lapis and I’m opening graphic commissions to get some money to help me with debts and to get a personal thing for me as well (mainly help with debts of course!)

Before commissioning from me, please be aware that 1) I’m pretty new to this commissioning stuff (especially graphic commissions) and 2) depending on your demand I might be either fast or slow due to irl stuff going on. Idk what part of my wonderful mishmash of neurodiversity this is but like. It really was strange growing up and realizing that like. Sure most kids were eagerly waiting their Hogwarts letter or some equivalent but no one really wanted to go as badly as i did. Like even before some of my main traumas i was always sort of just waiting to find that magical door that would sweep me away from this world and into a better, more exciting one. I basically spent most of my early life just... Waiting. And then i realized it wasn't going to happen and that fucking broke me.

Like now I have really wonderful people in my life who i adore and a place to live of my own but i still long for an escape from here every fuckin day. I hate it here, i don't wanna be here, i don't belong here. I just wish i could take my favorite people with me but they. Like it here???? Which almost makes me feel guilty for wanting to leave. Idk I just don't get it.

I wish we knew in the past that we should’ve stayed away from tumblr when we were discovering ourselves. There has been irreversible trauma caused by misinformation, grooming, and discourse and I’m sure we’re not the only one’s who’ve gone through that being young and thinking social media circles are good resources. I just wanted to say your K. Rool playlist was impeccably curated and your interpretation of the character is very much like my own. There are songs I associated with him there that I never imagined anyone else would ever bother to see him in. I think his cartoon portrayal is the most important component of how he's seen by fans, and is why such a consistent idea of this inconsistent character exists for us. I would have replaced a Blondie song or two with something piratey, but I loved it.

Hey anon! Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I recently started a part-time job, which has kept me quite busy and made it a bit challenging for me to be consistent online.

Firstly, thank you so much! Your notification seriously made my day! It's fantastic to connect with someone who shares the same thoughts as me. I couldn't agree more! The cartoon portrayal of King K. Rool is just as essential as the games themselves, as it helps shape people's interpretations of the character. That's why I aimed for a balance of chaos and sophistication in my representation. K. Rool is a wild card, constantly evolving and surprising us, much like Barbie with her myriad of diverse careers over the years.

Secondly, you were absolutely right about the need for more pirate songs. So, I added a bit of Alestorm to the playlist. Some of the other songs, like "Call Me," were included because my friend showed me one song and exclaimed, "LAPIS IT'S HIM!" It just stuck, and they sounded like something that would fit perfectly into the show's vibe.

By the way, I'm currently working on a web shrine for K. Rool, and one of the things I'm excited to add is a page that lists every song on the playlist. I'll also share my own thoughts on why I chose each song and how it relates to the kremling king. It's about 70% complete, so stay tuned for more updates on that! I can't wait to show it once it's done.
