a/n: just something short and sweet tonight, enjoy. 🤍
Forward knot, forward knot, then a backward knot. One colour after the other.
Esme sat alone at a table knotting strings into one of her iconic friendship bracelets. She had made a bracelet for each of her England team members so far except for one.
This one would be her last one. And it had to be the most perfect one so far.
She was fully focused on her task, trying to avoid mistakes at any cost. In fact, she was so focused that she jumped a little in her seat when Lauren Hemps voice suddenly asked: “Esme, what are you doing?“
Catching her breath from the scare, she turned around to her while simultaneously trying to hide the bracelet in her lap: “Hempo, keep building your stuff with LJ and Lucy. I need to focus here.“
She nodded into the direction of your other teammates that sat at the other end of the room, stacking bricks on bricks.
Lauren ignored her completely and reached for the bracelet: “Let me see.“
“No.“, Esme replied, not letting go of the strings to avoid tangling.
“I thought you were done with bracelets?“, Lauren asked curiously. She eyed it cautiously, taking in the different colours.
Esme smiled and pulled the bracelet out of Laurens hands: “I am. But this is the most special out of them all.“
She continued working on it while her teammate watched on, her head tilted.
“This?“ Confusion mixed with judgement.
“It’s for my girlfriend.“, Esme nodded.
“Why aren’t you making a pretty one then? The colours are so chaotic?“, the winger laughed.
“Because each colour represents a different memory…“, Esme explained softly.
Niamh Charles appeared next to them, sitting down on the table: “What does the blue stand for?“
“And the brown?“, Lauren added before Esme could answer.
“Or the dark green one?“ This question was Lucys.
Esme blushed as she found herself surrounded by her teammates: “Guys, stop for a minute. Let me breathe, okay? So the light blue one obviously represents our time at City together.“
Niamh nodded solemnly: “Okay, that makes sense.“
“But that doesn’t explain the brown and green one.“, Lauren reminded her.
“Not to forget the pink!“, Lucy agreed.
“So, I chose the brown because it looks exactly like her favourite coffee order.“, Esme started. The girls surrounding her stared down at the cappuccino-coloured strand.
“That’s cute.“, Lauren commented.
“And the rest?“, Niamh prompted Esme to go on but she quickly shook her head.
“Oh no, she’s coming. Help me to distract her girls. I’m not completely finished yet.“
She hid the bracelet behind her back while her teammates got up.
You just entered the entertainment room with two to-go cups in hand when Lauren Hemp walked briskly towards you: “Hey, y/n.“
“Hi, Hempo. What are you building at the moment?“, you asked politely.
“I uhm… uhhh.“, she replied, seemingly surprised by your question.
“We’re working on that flower bouquet.“, Lucy answered in her stead, pointing towards a collection of square brick flowers.
You smiled: “How pretty.“
"You want to help us?", Lauren asked with a friendly grin on her lips. "Sure, have you seen Esme though? I've her hot chocolate order right here?", you wanted to know, your hands wrapped around the hot drink.
"She's right..oh, I mean no.", the blonde stammered. "So Es is in the room?", you looked around curiously. "I'll bring it to her.", Niamh offered winking.
"Okay?", you had a feeling that something was off and they were trying to distract you, but you didn’t know from what. Like what was Esme doing or hiding?
"Esme is busy doing something for the lionesses’ social media.", the defender explained quickly. "Oh, I won't interrupt her then.", you declared. "Come on, let's build some flowers.", Lauren smiled warmly. How could you say no to that? Impossible, plus it was so much fun. Later in the evening Esme gave you a long hug when she entered the dimly lit hotel room you shared together.
"Hi love, thanks for the hot chocolate earlier.", the defender whispered gratefully. "You're welcome, Es.", you replied. "I've something for you.", Esme winked conspiratorially. "You do?", you raised an eyebrow at your girlfriend.
"Yes, something I promised you for a long time.", she nervously put a loose hair string back behind her ear. "Is it a bracelet?", you asked the new Washington Spirits signing audibly moved. The lionesses teammates knew you were sad about the fact that everyone received an armband by her except you. "It's.", Esme confirmed excitedly before helping you to put her handmade bracelet on.
"Thank you.", you beamed at her. "I hope you like it.", the defender responded. "It's perfect.", you assured your girlfriend who's lips formed into a beautiful smile. "You like it?" "No, I love it.", you emphasized your previous words. Your shoulders slumped while you remembered how far you'd be apart when the camp was over. "What's wrong?", Esme questioned concerned.
"Nothing, I'll just miss you.", you admitted with a heavy sigh.
"I know. I'll miss you too. But that's why I made that bracelet with these colours.", the defender confessed, pressing a soft kiss to your wrist which made your heart flutter.
Does each one has a special meaning?", you looked at her interested. She took her time to explain it to you. How the light blue string stood for your time together at City, the brown symbolizing your coffee order and many more.
"Maybe that can help for the first few weeks.", Esme ended hopefully. "And the next lionesses camp won't be too far off.", you remembered.
"Exactly and we can always call each other.", the blonde added optimistically. Her words were like balm to your worries.
"We can do this, right?" "Yes. We'll be fine. Finer than fine.", your girlfriend smirked pressing sweet little kisses on to your face making you giggle. Deep down you knew that Esme was right. Together you were capable to face everything even long distance over two continents, the love you had for each other was strong enough and the bracelet was your everyday reminder for it.

A/N: hi bbs, it’s been so so long & I’m sorry :( Here’s a longer fic that’s been in the drafts for YEARS NOW LMAOOOOO (disclaimer: this was written before my like 3 yr hiatus, no proof read, just straight posted for y'alls enjoyment) Giving some type of dad vibes I think might've been a request, but enjoy & slide me some feedback ! <3
Gun drawn, Spencer cautiously entered the house and into the child’s bedroom. Y/n followed closely behind, her gun out, ready for any outcome. Hearing a shuffle coming from the closet, y/n grasped Spencer’s bicep to get his attention before silently signaling to the closet. Spencer slowly approached the closet and whipped the door open.
“FBI! Put your hands up!”
Regret instantly hit Spencer as he holstered his gun when he saw a crying child crawl out of the closet. It was Jayden, Jordan Richard’s five-year-old son. 
Y/n holstered her gun and approached him, arms outstretched. “Hey there, you don’t have to be scared anymore, we’re the good guys,” she quietly explained as she motioned for Jayden to come closer to her.
He hesitated and looked between y/n and Spencer before running into y/n’s arms. After they left the house, Y/n brought him to the ambulance in the driveway to get checked out, while the team talked about the next steps.
They had been called to a small town in Virginia to investigate a series of families murdered with the same m.o. The team had gone to arrest the unsub, Jordan Richard, well the person they originally thought was the unsub. What they didn’t expect was for the alleged unsub and his family to have been the next victims. This meant the real unsub was still out there and the team was back to square one.
The only miracle was that the unsub had gotten sloppy and overconfident that he had just assumed that “missing” Jayden must’ve been sleeping over someone else’s house. Now this child would be the unsub’s demise.
Y/n was about to go join the team when Jayden grabbed her hand, silently pleading for her not to leave them. She gave him a small smile and sat down next to him in the ambulance.
“He’s lucky. There are no signs of any physical abuse,” the EMT said while placing a small band-aid on Jayden’s finger.
“Y/l/n, we need to take Jayden to headquarters and see if he can remember anything that can help us,” Hotch said before getting into one of the SUVs.
Y/n explained to Jayden the plan to head back to headquarters for the day. He didn’t seem to entirely understand the plan, except that he would get to spend the day with y/n, so he nodded and followed her into the SUV.
When they finally arrived at the bullpen, y/n led Jayden into one of the lounges. JJ came in to drop off some drawing supplies and snacks to help him feel more comfortable. The two of them spent the rest of the day attempting to get Jayden to open up about anything he might remember from last night. To everyone’s disappointment, Jayden was still too traumatized and only responded with nods and shakes of his head. Penelope had tried to find out if Jayden has any other family near, but she couldn’t find any. The social worker permitted Jayden to stay with y/n and Spencer, given that he’s a key witness and potentially still in danger. Actually, he wouldn’t let go of y/n’s leg when the social worker tried to take him for the night, so the social worker permitted him to stay with them until the case was solved. 
Once the three of them arrived at Spencer and y/n’s shared apartment, Spencer quickly went to childproof the guest bedroom. After tucking him in, y/n slid into bed next to Spencer, his arms instantly wrapping around her. 
“You know you always wanted kids,... so here you go,” y/n joked.
“I guess you could say this is our trial period for parenting,” Spencer laughed and placed a kiss goodnight to y/n’s forehead.
The multiple late nights and early mornings for this case, had tired them out so much that soon they were bother knocked out for the night. So knocked out, that neither felt Jayden crawl into bed with them. 
The next morning, y/n rolled over in bed to find that it was empty. She didn’t plan to leave her comfortable bed, until she heard Spencer scream. Running out of bed, she stopped once she saw Spencer covered in some type of food, Jayden no where to be seen. 
“Spence what happened to you?” Y/n laughed, walking into the kitchen.
“JAYDEN THREW HIS YOGURT AT ME!”
“What’d you do to get him to do that?” She teased, looking around the apartment for Jayden. Y/n eventually found him watching tv in the guest room.
“Absolutely nothing. All I did was join him at the table and the next thing I knew he launched his yogurt at me. This is my favorite sweater too,” Spencer pouted, trying to wipe off the yogurt.
“It could be because the first time you met, you had a gun pointed at him. He could still feel threatened by you,” y/n sighed before grabbing Spencer a new shirt.
“By the end of this case, I swear to you, Jayden and I are gonna be best friends,” Spencer promised. 
Y/n didn’t doubt it one bit. She knew Spencer would be the best dad in the world. 
The next two days had gone quick, Spencer and y/n stayed with Jayden to keep him safe and were there once he was comfortable enough to give them more information about that night. 
Y/n had left Spencer and Jayden alone in the apartment, while her and Emily checked out some leads. She hoped, the two of them wouldn’t tear apart the apartment by the time she got back. They’d seemed to be getting along together the past two days.
After checking out the leads, y/n headed back to her apartment to check on Spencer and Jayden before heading back to headquarters. She mentally braced herself for whatever she would be walking into as she unlocked the apartment door. To her surprise, she heard Jayden and Spencer laughing together. As she entered the apartment, she saw Spencer and Jayden running and ducking behind furniture with nerf guns. She giggled at the scene in front of her.
Suddenly, she was hit in the forehead by a foam dart. Y/n looked in the direction the dart came from to see a guilty Spencer emerge from behind the kitchen counter.
“Sorry love, I thought you were Jayden,” Spencer said as he jogged to the door to greet her with a kiss.
“I see you two have been keeping yourselves entertained,” y/n laughed as she went to go sit on the couch. Spencer followed, wrapping an arm around her. 
Jayden finally emerged from their bedroom, nerf gun in one hand and a piece of paper in his other. He ran and jumped onto the couch in between Spencer and y/n. Y/n examined the paper Jayden had handed her. It seemed to be a drawing of a logo.
“This looks familiar Spence, like a company logo,” y/n said as she handed the drawing to him.
“T-th-the scary m-man,” Jayden said, pointing to a mean stick figure he’d drawn on the bottom corner of the paper.
“Is this how you know the man who hurt your family?” Y/n softly asked. Jayden quickly nodded his head before jumping off the couch and running into the other room.
“This might just be what we need to finally catch the unsub,” y/n exclaimed as she gave Spencer a quick kiss and ran out the door to tell the team.
Spencer wanted to be there with y/n and the rest of the team when they went to go arrest the unsub, but he knew he had to stay and keep Jayden safe. A small part of him was actually happy he stayed, that way he’d be able to spend more time with Jayden before a foster family takes him.
“Ok kid, how do we convince my wife to start trying for our own kid?”

You stand outside still in your ballgown. The cool air that laps your face feels nice, fresh in your lungs. You breathe rhythmically, melodically. You’d never cared much for dances and certainly not ones held for these stupid trials, so this escape was perfect. It’s not like anyone would miss your presence anyway. The moon shines down into the gardens and reflects a silvery shadow on the surface of the pond. Beautiful.
“Dance with me?”
You spin around after hearing the familiar voice. Azer. Of course he’d be the only person to follow you out of a ball you were desperately trying to escape, pulling attention to the whole matter.
“I don’t dance,” you reply curtly, turning back to the moonlit pond.
“It wasn’t a request, love,” he murmurs, coming up dangerously close behind you, “we’re dancing.”
Classic, cocky, self-entitled prince. He thinks he can command anyone to do anything. But he picked the wrong girl to try and domineer. You can feel his warm breath on the back of your neck, making you shiver slightly. He’s trying to be intimidating.
You angle your face towards him slightly and shoot him a sickly sweet smile, “try and make me, sweetheart.”
“We can do this the easy way or the hard way, your choice,” he shrugs, making it appear like you had a choice in this matter.
“I don’t dance,” you repeat bluntly, wondering why he was struggling so greatly to understand three simple words.
“I don’t believe you,” he replies, taking you by the waist. His hands cup it perfectly as he guides you away from the ponds edge. He takes of your hands and interlocks his fingers with yours, as the two of your begin to move.
“What are you doing?” you ask, not pulling away just yet, something about this position wouldn’t let you.
“Dancing,” he responds simply, spinning you around.
“I told you I don’t-“
“You don’t dance,” he finishes with a roll of the eyes, “yes, I recall you mentioning a few times. But what are you doing now?”
Much to your annoyance, he was right. The two of you are dancing to the dying hum of music coming all of the way from the ball you were trying to escape. But for some reason you don’t mind this. You don’t mind his hands on your body or the closeness of your faces. In this moment it didn’t matter who you were and what you thought. You are just two strangers dancing under the moon.
“Why did you run away from the ball? Trying to pull a Cinderella stunt?” he asks quietly.
“Why did you follow me? Trying to be my Prince Charming?” you reply, a challenging eyebrow raised.
He acknowledges it and grins, “touché.”
You fall back into a comfortable silence, finding solace in the methodical movement of a routine. 1 2 3 4…. 1 2 3 4…. 1 2 3 4 …. you don’t think, you just move. And for once, it’s blissful not to have so much on your mind.
“Suspicious you were so insistent on dancing with me,” you say, as he twirls you around again, “one might assume you were desperate.”
“Desperate to see you make a fool of yourself,” he quips back grinning, “you really are quite horrible at this.”
“Apologies,” you reply, sarcasm dripping from your tone, “are my steps not up to your standard, your majesty?”
He scrunches his nose at the title, you like making him feel like this. Inferior. A feeling he’s probably not used to, that you know like the palm of your hand.
“Suspicious you agreed to dance, it didn’t take much persuasion and you haven’t stopped,” he points out, “one might assume you’re actually enjoying yourself.”
He mirrors the way you worded your sentence to get under your skin and annoyingly it’s working. You don’t think you’ve ever hated a man more in your entire life and that’s when you feel the blade that is stuck to your upper thigh.
“I want to take the knife strapped to my thigh and ram it into your chest,” I smile sweetly, “that’s how much I’m enjoying myself.”
“A knife? Are you flirting with me?” he smirks, grey eyes lighting up with this new found amusement or was it hope?
“In your dreams sweetheart,” you laugh, the nickname popping back up in a petty attempt to get under his skin.
He smiles and his whole face lights up. You hate yourself for thinking it but the truth is, he has a beautiful smile. Alluring and mesmerising.
He utters three small words, the smile never leaving his lips, “I hate you.”
You open your mouth to reply but don’t get a word out because Kai takes your chin tentatively and tilts your head upwards, smoothly planting a kiss on your lips.
At first you’re frozen in the pure shock of the act but you don’t break away. You don’t want to break away. It feels so nice to be wanted, to be spoiled. And then suddenly you’re kissing back and you don’t know why. Your hands are buried deep in his hair and you’re pushing your upper body against his. He kisses back even harder, the roughness throwing you off guard but you feel you like it. That you want more of it. You encourage his lips further.
That is until your brain kicks in and you realise the nature of the situation. You quickly tear yourself away, ashamed you’d let it go this far, angry at him for paralysing your brain with his mouth. You’re breathing heavily and you’re confused. Your head and your heart are torn in two completely different places. You look up and lock eyes with him, falling into endless puddles of grey. You try and form a sentence but you’ve forgotten how.
“Goodnight darling,” the prince winks, before spinning on his heel and walking off into the moonlight, leaving you stood there frozen and speechless.
What just happened?

At this point the only thing keeping me from adding other characters from mcyters into this world is the fact that it would, eventually bring me to the point of "Xornoth and Scott's little sibling, Aimsey" and at that point there is no salvaging the original storyline.
It's a whole separate au that I'll have to come back to after this one is more or less done

Slipping a ribbon between the pages to mark her spot, she shut her book with none of her usual reluctance. “You look well rested.”
The way his grin pressed dimples into each cheek should have been a crime with how it sent her gut fluttering in a panic. “I am. You should wash up, too, before everyone else returns.”
He had a point. Once the group walked through the door, they’d descend upon her and Charlie like predators on fresh blood. The two of them would no doubt be subject to story after story about their outdoor escapades, then plopped down at the dinner table and stuffed full to bursting. Then drinks, and then games. The future basically wrote itself.
“I think I will.” She stood to leave, but stopped at Charlie’s cleared throat.
“Do you, um, happen to have any other books on you? I didn’t see any downstairs, and there aren’t any in my bedroom.”
She stared at him for an awkward beat, then looked down at the leather weight in her hands. Dragons.
“I don’t have any but this one, if you can believe it, and had planned on reading it multiple times. You can try it, if you like? It has dragons…” Her voice trailed off, turning instead into a chortle at the way Charlie brightened at the last phrase. “It’s new, so, treat it with care, okay? I marked my spot, and you’re free to use your own bookmark as long as you don’t dogear the pages.”
“I would never,” he said, holding one hand above his heart. “Shall we cast an Unbreakable?”
He barked in laughter at the shove that sent him tumbling back into the cushions. He sat back to solemnly receive the book in both hands, then saluted her in farewell.
I hope he likes it, she thought as she made her way to her own private shower. Some men baulked at female protagonists, but she didn’t think Charlie was like that. He struck her as the sort to believe in equal opportunity, not only because of his role in the war, but also because of how he carried himself in life. She hadn’t had too much opportunity to witness that herself aside from the Burrow and at Hogwarts, but there was no question in her mind of the truth of his character.

three years later

Dean wakes with a start, his breath heavy and hot on his tongue.
You changed me.
I love you.
Why does this sound like a goodbye?
Because it is.
It was just a nightmare, he reminds himself. He looks over to the other side of the bed. A sleeping Castiel snores softly, curled up on himself with a leg wrapped in the sheet. That shit drives Dean insane. The stupid angel always steals all the covers and then acts all innocent in the morning as though Dean wasn’t fighting within an inch of his life for a blanket just a few short hours ago. Dean smiles. He wouldn’t give it up for anything.
The nightmares have become fewer and far between over the years, but when they come, they come with a vengeance. Dean blindly grabs for his phone in the dark. 3:16 AM. November 5, 2023.
Ah. Makes sense.
It’s been three years since Castiel died. It’s been 2 years, 5 months, and 4 days since Castiel came back. Not that Dean is counting.
2 years, 5 months, and 4 days since Castiel appeared in a blaze of light in the bunker kitchen. 2 years, 5 months, and 4 days since Dean grabbed Castiel and never let go. 2 years, 5 months, and 4 days since Dean kissed Castiel for the first time, and wondered why he hadn’t been doing that the whole time.
Castiel stirs in his sleep. “Dean?” he mumbles. It sounds a little more like ‘Deeb’ than anything else. Dean chuckles and lays his phone back down on the nightstand before reaching over and wrapping Castiel up in his arms. Castiel settles back in, his head nestled between Dean’s cheek and shoulder. “Are you okay?”
Dean presses a soft kiss to Castiel’s forehead. “I’m okay, buddy. Just a nightmare.”
Cas looks up at him, only one eye open. “What about?”
“Nothing,” he replies, kissing Castiel soundly on the lips. “It doesn’t matter now.”
Dean is slowly lulled back to sleep by the sound of Castiel’s soft breathing. The nightmares might come again, but he doesn’t have to face them alone.

After the draw against Chelsea most of the Manchester City teammates decided to go to their favourite bar and get a little drunk. Especially the two English players who got a red card in the game were on their best way to be a bit more than slightly drunk. The last one who joined them was Leila Ouahabi who got two yellow cards in their first WSL game this season in London, playing against Westham. Slightly worried she looked at the younger forward:” Hempito, how many shots did you already have?” Afterwards she waved at her other teammates with a bright smile on her face: Hola chicas!”
With a teasing smile on her lips Alex explained to the Spanish defender:“ Lauren’s trying to get to 81 because that’s the minute she got her red card.” “Don’t remind me of that, Al!”, the younger blonde whined. The Manchester City captain kept joking:“ I only have to get to 38 shots at least.” “You’re not serious, chicas! That’s loco!” “No shit, Leila. They’re obviously not.”, Chloe Kelly interjected giggling. Red faced Leila apologized: “Sorry, I don’t always get your British sense of humour.” “You’ll get used to it.”, Laura Coombs reassured her with a soft smile. Confidently Ellie Roebuck nodded, while hugging the brunette from behind: “Definitely.”
Meanwhile Alex handed her a couple of full glasses: “Here, those drinks are for you. For getting a red last week.” “Gracias.”, the dark-haired woman mumbled. A bright grin appeared on the blonde’s face: “De nada.”
“Drink!”, Lauren shouted into the Spanish defender’s ear.  A loud laugh escaped her mouth before starting to taste her first drink of the night:“Okay, alright.” “Good!”, the younger forward replied, clearly satisfied.  Her reaction made Leila laugh even harder:” She gets bossy when she drinks.”  “Drink your drink.”
“Hempo. Leave her alone.”, Alex rolled her eyes as she cut through that conversation. “Fine.”, Lauren sighed. To the brunette their skipper said:” Don’t worry, it’s just the red card.” “Is it? Where’s Hempitos girlfriend?”, Leila asked empathetically, instinctively feeling that Lauren could need her love right now after such an awful match with a terrible result for her.
With a sympathetic smile Chloe answered: “Working.” “Still?”, Leila glanced surprised at her teammates. “She called after the game to talk to Hempo and we said we’d go out for a few drinks first.”, Laura added. “Oh okay.” Smiling the older woman tried to put her at ease: “She’ll pick her up later.”
Alex addressed the round of football players excitedly; “More drinks anyone?“ “Yes!“, Lauren nodded violently. “And apart from Hempo?“, the blonde defender laughed. “Me too.“, Filippa Angeldal joined in, while Ellie yelled; “Esme and me too!“ Esme Morgan sat next to their goalkeeper with reddened cheeks; “Exactly.“
While Alex ordered them more drinks, Chloes face darkened; “Guys?“ Khiara Keating, the youngest the group, looked up from her phone; “Huh?“ “Where’s Hempo? Her seat’s empty. Did anyone see her leave?“, the striker asked with her eyebrows drawn together in confusion. Esme turned around in her seat, looking for her team mate; “Lauren? Where are you?“ Leila did the same on the other side of their table, even getting up from her chair; “Hempito?“
As a slight nervousness spread among the football players, Lauren jumped out from under the table with a loud; “Boo!“ The mischievous smile on her face let everyone know that she was incredibly proud of herself. “Don’t scare us like that!“, Alanna Kennedy scolded her, but still shook her head in amusement. Lauren could barely contain her laughter; “You should have seen your faces!“ Annoyed, Chloe rolled her eyes; “That was not funny!“ “Yes, it was.“, Lauren kept giggling.
Several drinks later, Ellie took one look at Lauren slumped down in her chair and announced; “I think it’s time for Hempo to leave.“ Outraged she immediately sat up; “What do you mean?!“ “I’m calling her girlfriend.“, Alex decided. With glassy eyes, Lauren pleaded; “Oh come on. Don’t be boring.“ But she was slurring her words enough to make even Alex who had her fair share of drinks shake her head.
You were only mildly surprise when your girlfriends teammate called. You knew you were supposed to pick Lauren up but you were expecting her to call you herself. “Alex?“ “Hey. I think your girlfriend had enough. Will you come pick her up?“, she explained more loudly than necessary. “Yes, of course. I’ll be there soon.“, you nodded and ended the call. You just came home from work, so you were still in your shoes and jacket. All that was left to do was grab the keys and walk over to the bar.
Luckily the way was not that far, and it did not take you too long to find the celebrating football players in the room. “Hi girls. Come on time to leave Lauren.”, you chirmed. Happy about the fact that the women did not seem to be that sad about the loss anymore. Determined your girlfriend shook her head:”Nooo.” “Do you need help with her?”, Ellie offered in a friendly tone. Politely you replied: “No, I think we’ll be fine.” “Wait.”, Laura interjected, a warm smile on her lips. “What?”, you looked confused at her. Slightly out of breath Chloe explained: “Here. Coombsy made me run across the street to the chip shop to bring you some food you can eat at home.” “Oh, thank you, Chloe. This is really thoughtful of you.”, you told them moved by their gesture.
Smirking Leila observed: “She will need it.” “I think so too.”, you admitted while making sure that Lauren was ready to go and did not left any of her belongings at the bar. Quickly Laura hugged you and her younger teammate who got red carded earlier: “Good night, you two.” “Night, everyone.”, you waved at them.
Amused Chloe shouted: “Good luck getting her home.” “Thanks, I’ll need it.”, you answered laughing before turning to your girlfriend, let’s go love.” “Ugh fine.”, Lauren groaned, obviously not too excited about being one of the earliest to leave the team party.
After some fresh air on the way to your appartement you mumbled relieved:” We’re home.” “Finally. Can’t wait for my bed.”, the blonde yawned. Suddenly she felt the tension which the forward felt all day escaping her body as she was taking the first step into your appartement.
Her physical reaction did not go unnoticed by you:” That game has been a lot, right? Sorry, I couldn’t be there because of work.” “I know that. Actually.. I’m glad you didn’t come. The game was just overall shit.”, Lauren confessed. Still, you felt a little guilty for not coming to the football match: “I could’ve been there for you.”
As you two had been childhood sweethearts long before you had a name for what you two felt for eachother you tried to come to every home game your girlfriend had, and it did not matter the weather. But as you two became young adults sometimes work forbid the tradition you held dearly.
“No, you couldn’t. I was on the pitch.”, the forward reminded you softly.  A sad smile appeared on your face as you kissed her forehead: “You’re right but I can be here for you now.” “It’s cool. Really. Proud of the girls for taking the point home. We could’ve lost 0:5.”, the blond muttered.
“Your team is really incredible.“, you nodded, thinking not only of the game but also of the familiar atmosphere at the bar a few minutes ago. Lauren let herself fall back onto your bed while kicking her shoes off; “They are. I love them.“ “I can tell.“, you replied slightly moved and changed into your Pyjamas.
Your girlfriend watched you from the bed; “Do you know what else I like?“ “Our bed?“, you laughed. Lauren smiled back at you; “That too!“ “And you?“, you prompted her to go on. „Bananas!“, she finally revealed happily. Surprised you paused and raised an eyebrow; “Are you hungry? I could get you one.“ “No, we still have the food the others gave us.“, she reminded you and then seemed to remember what she actually wanted to say; “Did you know that there are over 1.000 types of bananas?“ “Uhm, no. But that’s really interesting.“, you answered politely as you slipped into bed with her.
Excitedly, Lauren nodded; “I know, right?“ “What made you think of bananas?“ Your girlfriend snorted; “They’re yellow. Like the cards I’ve gotten. Doesn’t make sense that yellow plus yellow makes red.“ “No, it does not.“, you agreed, feeling sad for her because that topic was still so present in her mind. “I mean why red? That’s so aggressive.“, she kept going. Carefully, you put a hand in her hair; “You can’t stop thinking about it, huh?“ “No.“, she admitted. Her eyes were wet again and her lower lip trembled.
“Come here.“ You pulled her towards you, gently stroking her face. Laurens tears never came. She just swallowed hard; “It’s stupid, I know. We all know the ref made a lot of bad decisions today. But it still feels like I did something bad.“ “You did nothing wrong, love.“, you assured her. “I still won’t get to play the next few games.“ “I know…“ Sighing, Lauren sat up again; “I want some chips. You too?“ “Yes.“ She got out of bed to go into the kitchen where you put down the food. With the paper bag in hand, your girlfriend wanted to know: “Can we eat in bed?“ “Sure.“ Lauren cozied back up in bed with you and you two ate in silence.
The greasy food seemed to help with the alcohol. “Do you feel better?“, you wanted to know from your girlfriend. Shoving more chips into her mouth, she nodded; “Yes. They’re so good.“ “Agreed.“ “I guess I just needed some food.“, Lauren shrugged, grinning. You quietly laughed; “Seems like it.“ “So good.“, your girlfriend mumbled before laying down and closing your eyes.
You gently cleared the bed from the trash, pulled the blanket over Laurens body and kissed her forehead; “Sleep well, Lauren.“ It was quiet for a while when the football player suddenly said; “Hey?“ “Hm?“, you answered, now sleepy yourself. “Love you.“ A smile appeared on your face because your girlfriend finally sounded content; “I love you too.“

Kai Azer was a man who was known to be respected, worshipped and feared throughout all of Ilya. His talent with any weapon was impeccable, his ability to wield any power was undeniable. He was incredibly skilled with a blade, so much so if you were in a fight and he had one, you were as good as dead. But right now the brave, the dangerous, the daring Kai Azer was sat on the floor, cross-legged, holding a plastic pink teacup with his pinky finger stuck out.
“Daddy!” Avena groans, “you’re doing it all wrong!”
She exaggerates the word all so much, she rolls her head all the way back and flops down into the purple play table. They were currently deep within a tea party that Kai was apparently not too good at.
He bites back his laugh, “what am I doing wrong baby?”
“You’re supposed to wait and pick up your teacup after I’ve poured the tea!” she tells him, clearly exasperated at her dad’s horrible pretend tea party etiquette, “Obviously!”
“Oh sorry,” he says quickly, placing the cup back on the saucer, “we’ll pretend that didn’t happen,”
“I’ll have to forgive you for that mistake but one more and I will get very mad at you!” Avena warns him with a pointed stare that makes Kai’s heart just melt.
“Oh yeah?” he asks, grinning.
He loved his daughter’s feisty side. It reminded him so much of Paedyn. Avena was bold and daring and not afraid to tell someone that they were doing it wrong. She had that fierce look in her bright eyes.
“Yep!” she nods, folding her arms, “I will get so mad that I’ll get mommy to team up with me and then we’ll get… revenge!”
He tries to look serious, “okay Ave, I won’t make any more mistakes.”
“Good!” she smiles as she gets up and grabs the teapot. She walks beside him and begins to pour imaginary tea into his cup and then continues around the whole table until all of her stuffed animals, Kai and herself had something to ‘drink’.
“Can I drink my tea now?” he asks her.
“Not until I take the first sip,” she explains, “because I’m the one hosting this tea party after all.”
She slowly lifts her cup and takes a sip of invisible tea, grinning widely as she places the cup back down.
“Tasty?” Kai asks her, an eyebrow raised.
“It’s delicious,” Avena beams, taking a second sip.
“Better than Gail’s?” he challenges.
“No one’s is better than Gail’s!” she exclaims, with her little mouth in an ‘o’ shape, looking offended he even asked.
“I agree with you there Ave,” he winks.
“Taste the tea now daddy,” she urges him.
Kai takes the cup to his lips, pinky extended of course, and acts out drinkingthe non-existent liquid.
“This is too strong!” he announces, pretending to spit it out.
Avena laughs, the sweet sound melodic to her father’s ears. Not that she was aware of course. She was still in that child state of obliviousness but he loved it.
She rushes up excitedly, “Oooo let me get you the milk!”
She takes a plastic blue jug and carries it over carefully, as if it actually contained some substance. Then she tips some nothingness into his cup. Kai slowly lifts the cup to his lips for a second time and pretends to taste it. He looks into the air, with a finger on his chin, exaggerating being deep in thought.
“Hmmmm better,” he tells her, “but it’s a little bitter.”
“Do you want honey or sugar to sweeten it?” she asks, eyeing both plastics on the table.
“How about both?” he suggests.
“No!” she giggles, “don’t be silly daddy, you can’t have both! All your teeth are gonna fall out then.”
“Uh-huh and who told you that baby?” he asks her.
“Mommy did,” she explains, “and mommy is always right.”
Kai smiles softly and tucks a chunk of silver hair behind her ear. She was growing up so fast. Every single day she was getting that little bit older, that little bit more independent. It reminded Kai that one day she wasn’t going to be this small anymore, she wouldn’t stay his little Avena forever.
“Okay then, I’ll just take the sugar,” he says, glossy eyed suddenly.
Avena grabs the fake sugar pot and scoops emptiness into his cup. Blinking back the water in his eyes and reeling himself back to the present Kai takes the deciding sip.
“How’s that?” Avena asks him.
“Mmmmm much better,” he nods, “this is a lovely cup of tea.”
“Why thank you!” she grins.
He pulls her onto his lap, “you make the best tea in all the land, you know that?”
“Thank you daddy,” she murmurs, reaching up to take some of his curls into her hand to play with. She softly teases them rhythmically.
“Do you like my hair?” Kai asks gently, curious.
“Hmmmm,” she hums in reply, “it’s so soft and curly.”
He smiles silently, in these past few years he seemed to be doing that a lot more often, “you’ve got some of my curls, you know.”
“I know and I love them sooooo much,” she grins, now taking her hands and running them through her loose silver ringlets.
Kai looks down at his daughter, his world is in his arms. How could one small person mean so much? He wanted to just keep her like this forever, his tiny little girl who loved to play dress up. He didn’t want her to see what the real world could be like, the horror of mankind. When she’s been born, Kai had been petrified he’d end up like his father. Each and every day he strived to be the opposite, he wanted Avena to always feel loved, wanted, safe, cared for. Never the hopeless, inferior pressurised mess of emotions that he grew up with.
“You know I love you for always and forever Ave?” Kai murmurs.
“You always say that to me,” she notes, her pretty blue eyes connecting with his dark grey ones.
“It’s because it’s true,” he shrugs.
“Well I love you even more than that,” Avena decides.
Kai chuckles a little and shake his head, “it’s not possible baby.”
“How do you know?” she asks, eyebrows pinched in confusion. For a split second, in a minuscule flash of a moment, the way her face was contorted made her look just like Kitt. Kai’s heart twists an an awkward angle and thick knot forming.
“Because I just know,” he murmurs, his brothers face etched into his mind, “should we get back to our tea party then?”
He needs a distraction, he needs to focus on his daughter, he needs the knot in his chest to loosen.
Avena is quick to compose herself back into ‘tea party’ mode, she brushes her dress off and walks around the table, “now before we have anything to eat there is something very important we have to do,”
“What?” Kai asks her.
“We have to get dressed!” she announces, cupping her hands together.
He looks down at his clothes, “I am dressed baby.”
“No you’re not,” she exclaims, “you need your princess dress!”
He nearly chokes on his imaginary tea, “My princess dress? But I’m not a princess.”
“Yes you are,” she says, stubbornly.
“No I’m not,” he insists.
“Well then pretend,” she tells him, with a delicate shrug.
“But I don’t want to be a princess,” Kai says. Sometimes he wondered who the five year old was of the two of them.
“No dad,” she snaps, “you have to be a princess too.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s two princesses at a tea party, that’s the story,” Avena explains, with a tone to make it clear that her decision would not change.
“Can’t I be a prince or a dragon,” Kai asks, not liking the idea of wearing a dress.
“No, you’re being a princess,” she shakes her head stubbornly, staring at him wide eyed, like she was waiting for him to crack under the pressure.
He did. “Fine I’ll be a princess,” he grumbles.
“Yay!” She smiles, jumping up and down as she claps her hand together, “I have a dress especially picked out for you,”
“Honey, if it’s one of yours I don’t think it’s going to fit me,” he sighs, biting back a small laugh.
“No silly!” Avena giggles, shaking her head, “it’s one of the ones mommy never ever wears.”
“I don’t think that will fit me either,” Kai says, recalling that his wife is a lot shorter, slimmer and smaller than him.
“I think it will, so you have to try it on,” she decides, channelling her sassy side, “or I’ll get mad! And do you remember what I said about when I get mad?”
“Yes baby, I do,” he chuckles.
“So you’ll try it on?” she asks, her big round ocean eyes sparkling.
Kai sighs, how could he say no, “yes I’ll try it.”
Five minutes later Kai found himself in a velvety pink dress that barely reached his ankles. The neckline had to be severely stretched to fit across his chest and his arm muscles bulged from the fabric that clung over them desperately, like a second skin. He looked ridiculous and he was very aware, but he would hate to see that disappointed look on Avena’s sweet face. It was a workout to get it on. Obviously, Kai didn’t have the physique of a woman, hence all the proportions of the dress were off. But he was just going to have to grin and bear it. As long as his baby was happy, that’s all that mattered.
“Are you ready yet Daddy?” she calls out.
“Yes,” he grits through his teeth, trying to sound cheerful.
“Come out and show me then!”
Kai steps back into the room, draped in the pink ill-fitting fabric. Avena’s eyes light up with joy, a dazzling azure. Immediately any reluctance towards the dress was forgotten and it became all worth it.
“Can you do a twirl please?” she asks, practically buzzing with excitement.
He obliges, spinning around, the skirt flowing up a little.
“Oh you look so beautiful,” Avena squeals, clasping her hands to her heart.
“Not as beautiful as you,” he says, approaching her.
“But I’m not even dressed up yet,” she laughs gently.
“You don’t need to be,” he tells her, lifting Avena up into his arms, “you are beautiful all on your own.”
“Thank you,” she giggles, kissing the tip of his nose.
“You’re welcome,” he smiles, setting her down again. She picks up a princess dress of her own and holds it up to him.
“Daddy can you help me?” she asks him, as she takes off her top and disguards it on the floor.
“Arms up baby,” Kai says, bunching up the dress in his hands so it would perfectly slip on.
She stretches her little arms over her head as high as she can and he tentatively puts the dress on her, pulling it down so it met the floor. He then smoothes down the skirt carefully for her.
“Hang on Avena, let me untwist your straps,” he says gently, as she tries to get back to the tea party.
She holds still and turns around as he carefully readjusts her straps so they’re no longer twisted around each other.
“There you go,” he says.
“Thank you daddy,” she smiles, standing on her tiptoes and kissing his cheek.
“You’re welcome baby,” he replies.
She spins around, admiring her dress. The pink silk bright and bold, “we’re matching!”
“We are!” he exclaims, mirroring her energy.
“I love it,” she tells him, over annunciating every letter of the word ‘love’.
He nods in agreement, “me too.”
“Okay back to the party now,” she says, with a serious look on her
Kai nods again and follows her back to the table, resuming his seat between a stuffed unicorn and some sort of multicoloured fox.
“Sorry everyone,” Avena says, looking around at her stuffed animals, “we just needed an outfit change before dessert.”
“What is dessert?” he asks her.
“It’s a surprise,” she tells him, a finger to her lips.
Kai had a feeling her knew what that surprise was. Just like himself and Pae, Avena was addicted to Sticky Buns. It must run in the genes. He was pretty sure she loved them more than him sometimes, not that he’d blame her. Sticky Buns were heavenly.
“Okay then,” he replies.
“I’m going to go and get our surprise dessert,” she tells him, “you wait here.”
Avena rushes off before Kai can even reply, too overcome by excitement to wait for a response. He awkwardly sits there, the plastic eyes of various stuffed animals staring at him in judgment.
“You think you could wear this better?” he mutters bitterly at the dog plushie opposite him.
It doesn’t respond. Obviously. It just continues to stare into Kai’s soul. He doesn’t break eye contact until soft laugh cuts him out of his intense staring contest.
“Now I know why I married you,” Paedyn smirks, walking in, “I am so turned on right now.”
She saunters in, looking him up and down, amusement carved into her every feature.
“Oh shut up,” he snaps, cheeks heated and flushed.
“No seriously,” she laughs, “did I ever tell you that pink is so your colour?”
Kai stares at her from the corner of his eye, a stormy expression on his face in a refusal to speak.
“Oh don’t go all moody,” she pouts, crouching beside him.
“I am not moody,” he grumbles, not meeting her eyes.
“Moody is part of your personality, you can’t help it,” she says with a graceful shrug.
He sighs, running hand through his hair, “did you come home just to attack me?”
“Pretty much, yeah,” she replies, “but finding you like this made it even better.”
“You’re never going to let me forget this are you?” he groans, slumping down onto the table.
“I haven’t got the camera out yet,” she flashes a grin.
He’s suddenly up and alarmed, staring her dead in the eye with panic swimming across his face, “you better not.”
“Oh I definitely am,” she says, throwing her head back with a cruel giggle.
“Pae, I swear to-“
She cuts him off quickly, softly pressing her lips onto his. He kisses back, begging her for more but she breaks away ensuring they wouldn’t get too carried away.
“She has you wrapped her little finger and it’s adorable,” Paedyn smiles, cupping her husbands face in her palms.
“She really does,” he sighs, “I physically can’t say no to that cute face, I mean have you seen her eyes?”
“They’re gorgeous,” she hums in reply.
“They’re yours,” Kai murmurs, staring into Paedyn’s perfect oceans of blue. Sometimes he really thinks he drowns in her eyes, if he stares for too long he finds it hard to catch his breath.
She blushes a deep scarlet, the red bold against her pale skin and silver hair.
“Oooo mommy you’re home!” Avena exclaims, as she reappears back in the room with an empty tray in her hands.
She runs through the doorway, disguarding the tray and immediately throws her arms around her mom, squeezing her as tight as she could.
“Hey baby,” Paedyn beams, scooping Avena up into her arms and twirling her around, “how’s your day with daddy been?”
“Good,” she says enthusiastically, full of life, full of light and full of energy, “we had lots of fun.”
“I like his dress,” she mentions, earning her a glare from her husband.
“I picked it out,” Avena tells her, pride in her voice, “especially for him!”
“You have good taste sweetie,” she praises her, kissing her cheek.
“Now you can play too mommy,” she beams.
“Me?” Paedyn asks.
“Yes! We can be three princesses now!” Avena grins excitedly, “mommy go put on one of those dresses you never wear because you think they’re too fancy.”
She looks at her daughter and narrows her eyes slightly, hands on her hips, “how do you know I think they’re too fancy?”
“I heard you say it to daddy,” she shrugs, the innocence rolling from her like a waterfall.
“Ave that’s called eavesdropping,” Kai says.
“Huh?”
“When you listen to other people’s conversations,” he explains, “that’s called eavesdropping.”
“Is that bad?” she asks, concerned.
“Sometimes,” he shrugs.
Paedyn shoots him a dark look and he quickly fixes his answer.
“It is not very polite to do that and you shouldn’t,” he adds on, satisfying his wife.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Avena says, her guilt displayed on her face.
“You didn’t know Ave,” Kai tells her softly, “it’s okay. But now you do know for next time.”
“Right,” she nods determinedly.
“I’ll get into my dress and meet you two in a moment,” Paedyn says.
“Good! That gives me a chance to start on daddy’s make up,” Avena giggles, a spring in her step as she glides towards her dad.
“Daddy doesn’t want makeup!” Kai says urgently, holding his hands in front of his face.
“You’re right,” she nods, sending a wave of relief over him as he lowers his hands, “daddy doesn’t want any make up, but the second princess does and you’re the second princess!”
“I don’t think she does,” he shakes his head.
“Have fun,” Paedyn winks at him, her face angled towards his, her voice low enough so only he could hear her.
“More like good luck,” he mutters, leaning forwards and planting a sweet kiss on her lips.
“Daddy!” Avena scolds, “No kissing mommy, you’re a princess remember!”
“And a princess can’t kiss mommy?” he raised an eyebrow.
“No. Mommy is only allowed to kiss me and daddy,” she says, her face scrunched up. It was hard to take someone seriously when they were so unintentionally adorable, “and right now you’re not daddy, so no kisses!”
“Okay, okay, okay,” he laughs.
“She’s so bossy,” Paedyn murmurs.
“Wonder where she gets it from,” he says, under his breath.
She glares at him slaps his arm. He bites back a complaint.
“Mommy why did you just slap daddy?” Avena exclaims, shock rippling across her features, “that’s not nice!”
“Yeah mommy!” Kai sneers, arm folded, looking at Paedyn, “that’s not nice,”
“Daddy was being very annoying, sweetie,” she explains.
“But you told me I should never slap anyone,” her daughter reminds her.
“I did, didn’t I?” she sighs, “I’ll apologise to daddy later.”
“Okay but you have to say you’re sorry,” she says.
“I will,” Paedyn tells her.
“Okay,” she nods, walking over to the stray that had been strewn across the room as she had noticed her mom.
“Are you going to say sorry mommy?” Kai mocks, out of his daughter’s earshot, in an attempt to piss his wife of further.
Paedyn death stares him and waits until Avena’s back is tuned, then she sharply elbows her husband’s rib. Hard. He takes a sharp breath in and suppresses a groan. That might bruise tomorrow.
“That stopped smirking,” she rolls her eyes.
“Used and abused,” he shakes his head.
“Cry about it,” Paedyn shrugs delicately as she walks out.
“I love you too!” he calls out after her.

Picture You
This song has a very strong double meaning. The narrator wonders if the person they desire feels the same longing. It's quite sexual, but if this song wins, the oneshot will be pretty PG. I included this song because, while the lyrics of the song strongly suggest a particular action that comes with desire, it can also be taken completely innocently.
The One That Got Away
This one is a bit self explanatory. It's about a past lover, someone who could have (and maybe even should have) been "the one." It's beautiful and sad, and would definitely make for an angsty plot!
bad idea right?
This one is pretty silly. Basically, the singer ponders the idea of going to see her ex, fully aware that this idea is not a good one. The line, "I just tripped and fell into his bed!" is quite entertaining and I think this song could make for a very silly oneshot.
I Do
This song is simply beautiful. It follows a singer who thinks back on a relationship that didn't go quite right, even though she is still in love. When her former lover finds someone new, she insists that their new love will never be the same as what the singer and lover had.
Don't Speak
This last song is truly one of my favorite songs of all time. It's about a breakup, where the speaker doesn't want to hear anymore of what her ex has to say. She already knows what she's going to hear, and she doesn't want to be hurt by it anymore.
I hope that these songs are a good selection! I know most of them are sad, but the stories that they could create are amazing! Also, it's not limited to Jamilton! It truly depends on the plot I come up with based on the song you choose!
