My MerMay contribution based on the “Embrace the Waves” AU in the tone of the childhood storybook pages 1 | 2 💙🌹
🌊Law is a black marlin merman & Michelle is a flying fish mermaid
🌊Their heart pendants are made of eachother’s scales & Kikoku alludes as Law’s black marlin ‘nose.’ He used to dream of being a “Hero of the Seas” from his childhood books, until unexpected tragedy struck.
🌊Michelle became a flying fish, as she used to watch them glide on the ocean surface on moonlit nights & yearned for their freedom as a human. She never forgot her underwater adventures with Law when they were kids

We’ve done a variety of shipping templates, but why not get down to the sensual & sinful to dive further into the dynamics? So here’s another “My Ship in 5 Minutes: NSFW Edition” 👀♥️🌹

Deeply emotional/sensual, kinky, & experimental are what defines our bedroom dynamic. Despite being typically non-horny & reserved people, we have a depth of touchstarvedness & peculiar curiosities that explodes when we’re together, cuing wicked dirty talk, desperate caresses, & waking up like leopards in the morning. Aftercare is always a must in some form & typically if it was an extremely loud and passionate night, Shachi and Penguin greet us with a variation of the “Congrats on the Sex” cake

Short love: Chp 3
The first date
Tumblr media
Summary: The is about widowed father Bradley Bradshaw who enlists his brother-in-law Jake Seresin and childhood best friend Robert Floyd to help raise his three daughters, eldest Donna Jo Margaret (D.J for short), middle child Stephanie and youngest Michelle in his San Diego home.
Pairing: Jake "Hangman" Seresin x Reader
Warning: Fluff, flirting
As the evening approached and the sky outside darkened, Y/n's tiredness began to fade, replaced by a sense of warmth and contentment. With Stephanie and DJ tucked into their beds, she sat at the edge of their room, ready to fulfill her duty as the bedtime storyteller.
"Alright, you two, are you ready for a story?" Y/n asked, her voice soft but playful as she watched the excitement dance in their eyes.
Stephanie and DJ nodded eagerly, their faces lighting up with anticipation. "Yes, Aunt Y/n! We love your stories!" DJ exclaimed, her voice filled with enthusiasm.
Y/n couldn't help but smile at their excitement, feeling a swell of affection for her nieces. "Alright, then. Let me think of a good one," she replied, her mind racing to recall a tale that would capture their imaginations.
As she began to weave a story filled with adventure and magic, Stephanie and DJ listened intently, their eyes wide with wonder as they hung on her every word. They gasped at the daring exploits of the heroes, giggled at the antics of the villains, and sighed with satisfaction as the story reached its triumphant conclusion.
"And so, the brave knight and his trusty companions defeated the evil sorcerer and saved the kingdom," Y/n concluded, her voice soft but filled with conviction.
Stephanie and DJ clapped their hands in delight, their faces alight with excitement. "That was amazing, Aunt Y/n! Can we hear another one?" DJ asked, her eyes shining with anticipation.
Y/n chuckled at DJ's enthusiasm, feeling a sense of joy fill her heart at the chance to share her love of storytelling with her nieces. "Of course, my darlings. But for now, it's time for bed," she replied, her voice gentle but firm.
With a sigh of disappointment, Stephanie and DJ reluctantly settled down under their covers, their eyelids growing heavy with sleep. Y/n tucked them in with a gentle smile, pressing a tender kiss to each of their foreheads as she whispered her goodnight wishes.
"Sweet dreams, my loves," she said, her voice barely above a whisper as she tiptoed out of the room, leaving Stephanie and DJ to drift off into a peaceful slumber, their hearts full of the magic of storytelling and the love of their dear Aunt Y/n.
As Y/n made her way through the quiet hallway, she couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity tug at her. Peeking through the slightly ajar door of Michelle's nursery, she was met with a heartwarming sight.
There, bathed in the soft glow of the nightlight, Jake sat in the rocking chair, cradling Michelle in his arms as he swayed gently back and forth. His voice, soft and melodic, filled the room as he sang an Elvis Presley tune, his eyes fixed on Michelle's sleeping form.
Y/n couldn't help but smile at the scene before her, feeling a warmth spread through her chest at the sight of Jake's tender care for her niece. Despite his tough exterior, he had a heart of gold, especially when it came to Michelle.
She watched in silence for a moment, not wanting to interrupt the peaceful moment between uncle and niece. The love and affection that radiated from Jake's every gesture filled her with a sense of gratitude, knowing that Michelle was in the best of hands.
With a contented sigh, Y/n silently backed away from the door, leaving Jake and Michelle to their private moment. As she made her way down the hallway, her heart felt light with the knowledge that her family was surrounded by love, even in the quietest moments of the night.
As Y/n stepped into her room, anticipation bubbled up inside her like a fizzy soda. Tonight was the night she had been looking forward to — her date with Jake. With a smile tugging at her lips, she made her way to her closet, her heart fluttering with excitement.
Rummaging through her wardrobe, she finally found the perfect dress — a stunning red number that hugged her curves in all the right places. Pulling it out, she couldn't help but admire the way the fabric shimmered in the soft light of her room.
With a quick glance in the mirror, Y/n began to carefully apply her makeup, opting for a classic look with a bold red lip to match her dress. As she swept the mascara through her lashes and dabbed on some blush, she couldn't help but feel a surge of confidence wash over her.
With one final look in the mirror, Y/n smiled at her reflection, feeling ready to take on the world. Tonight was going to be special, she could feel it in her bones, and she couldn't wait to see where the evening would take her.
Stepping out of her room, she made her way to the front door, excitement bubbling up inside her like a champagne cork ready to pop.
----- As Y/n stepped out of her room, her heart skipped a beat at the sight of Jake waiting for her just outside her bedroom door. His eyes widened in awe as he took in her appearance, a smile spreading across his face.
"Wow, Y/n, you look... incredible," Jake breathed, his voice filled with genuine admiration as he drank in her beauty.
Y/n felt a rush of warmth flood her cheeks at his words, a shy smile gracing her lips. "Thank you, Jake," she replied, her voice soft but filled with gratitude.
Jake stepped forward, his eyes never leaving hers as he reached out to gently tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Seriously, you take my breath away," he whispered, his tone filled with sincerity.
Y/n's heart fluttered at Jake's touch, her pulse quickening with excitement as she met his gaze. In that moment, she felt like the most beautiful woman in the world, and she couldn't help but be grateful to have Jake by her side.
With a smile that lit up her face, Y/n took Jake's hand in hers, her fingers intertwining with his as they stood together in the hallway. Tonight was going to be a night to remember, she could feel it in her bones, and she couldn't wait to see where the evening would take them.
As they made their way towards the front door, hand in hand, Y/n felt a surge of happiness wash over her. With Jake by her side, she knew that anything was possible, and she couldn't wait to embark on this new adventure together.
As Y/n and Jake rode through the dark streets of San Diego on Jake's motorcycle, a sense of exhilaration filled the air around them. The cool night breeze whipped against their faces, sending strands of Y/n's hair dancing behind her like ribbons in the wind.
With every twist and turn of the road, Y/n couldn't help but feel a sense of freedom wash over her. There was something intoxicating about the open road stretched out before them, the promise of adventure beckoning them forward into the night.
As they approached the fancy Italian restaurant, the soft glow of the city lights illuminated their path, casting a warm, inviting glow over the streets below. Y/n's heart raced with excitement as they pulled up outside the restaurant, the rumble of the motorcycle fading into the background as they came to a stop.
Stepping off the motorcycle, Y/n couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation coursing through her veins. Tonight was going to be special, she could feel it in her bones, and she couldn't wait to see what the evening had in store for them.
With a smile and a glance exchanged between them, Y/n and Jake made their way inside the restaurant, hand in hand. As they settled into their seats, the soft candlelight casting a warm glow over their faces, Y/n couldn't help but feel grateful for this moment, for this chance to be with Jake and share in this special evening together.
As Y/n and Jake savored the delicious pasta at the fine Italian restaurant, their conversation flowed easily, punctuated by laughter and shared moments of connection. Amidst the clinking of glasses and the murmur of other diners, they found themselves lost in each other's company, reveling in the joy of being together.
"So, tell me more about your music career with 'The Rippers'," Y/n said, her voice filled with genuine interest as she leaned in closer to Jake.
Jake's eyes sparkled with excitement as he began to recount tales of his time on the road with his band, his passion for music evident in every word he spoke. He spoke of late-night jam sessions, sold-out concerts, and the thrill of performing in front of adoring fans.
Y/n listened intently, her heart swelling with pride at Jake's accomplishments. She couldn't help but admire his dedication and talent, feeling grateful to be able to share in this part of his life.
As Jake finished his story, he turned the conversation to Y/n's latest work adventures. "And what about you, Y/n? How's the radio job in Australia treating you?" he asked, his voice filled with curiosity.
Y/n smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction at the opportunity to share her own experiences. She spoke of her time in Australia, of the challenges and triumphs she had encountered along the way. She talked about the thrill of reporting from new and exciting locations, the rush of adrenaline as she chased down stories, and the satisfaction of knowing that her work was making a difference.
As they exchanged stories and shared laughter, Y/n couldn't help but feel grateful for this moment, for the chance to connect with Jake on a deeper level and share in each other's dreams and aspirations. And as they finished their meal and prepared to head home, she knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together, filled with endless possibilities and the promise of a bright future.
As the conversation between Y/n and Jake flowed effortlessly, a brief lull fell over them, prompting a moment of reflection. In the midst of their laughter and shared stories, they both sensed an unspoken truth lingering between them — the acknowledgment of a significant gap in their communication.
"You know," Y/n began, her voice soft but filled with sincerity, "it's funny how we've been so caught up in our own worlds that we haven't properly talked since that New Year's Eve five years ago."
Jake's expression softened, a flicker of understanding dancing in his eyes as he met Y/n's gaze. "Yeah, I know what you mean," he replied, his voice tinged with regret. "It's like time just slipped away from us, and we never got the chance to really catch up."
Y/n nodded in agreement, a pang of nostalgia tugging at her heartstrings as she recalled that memorable night they had shared together. "I guess life has a way of getting in the way sometimes," she mused, her voice tinged with wistfulness.
Jake reached out to gently squeeze Y/n's hand, his touch warm and reassuring. "But you know what?" he said, his tone filled with determination. "Tonight feels like a fresh start. A chance for us to reconnect and really get to know each other again."
Y/n smiled, feeling a sense of hope wash over her at Jake's words. "I like the sound of that," she replied, her voice filled with optimism. "Here's to making up for lost time."
And as they toasted to their newfound resolve, Y/n couldn't help but feel grateful for this moment, for the chance to bridge the gap between them and forge a deeper connection with Jake. With each laugh and shared story, she knew that their bond was only growing stronger, and she couldn't wait to see where their renewed friendship would take them.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
Tumblr media
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a disappointing 31st entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Why? I'm having difficulty pinpointing that. The setting is pretty incredible, with loads of geography and characters that look unlike anything we’ve seen before. That's saying something considering some of the places the Guardians of the Galaxy have taken us. Paul Rudd once again proves himself a charismatic everyman, the action scenes are exciting and occasionally go in some pretty wild places thanks to the shrinking/growing abilities of the lead character… but something feels off.
When Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), his daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton), girlfriend Hope van Dyne/Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), her father Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and mother Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer) get sucked into the Quantum Realm, they discover it isn’t empty at all; it’s filled with inhabitants, all of whom live in fear of Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors).
The film’s issue is the story. This is a wild departure from the previous Ant-Man films. It’s closer to a space adventure than anything else, complete with crazy aliens, spaceships, armies of robots (at least I think they were robots) and talks about other dimensions & multiverses. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with that, but it just doesn’t feel Ant-Man-like. Aside from his team-ups with the Avengers, none of Scott's adventures have been world-threatening; he’s always felt like “the little guy”, complete with serious, down-to-earth problems like being an ex-con, having trouble finding a job and being estranged from his daughter. This is closer to Guardians territory. The scale of everything encountered in Quantumania should have a much bigger impact on our heroic family. They take it in such strides that there isn't much opportunity for our characters to grow or learn things - except for Cassie, who struggles with some fighting moves. This means the movie is only about two things: the adventure and the villain.
I’ve heard Kang described as a top-tier villain, the one that’s supposed to fill the hole left by Thanos. I don’t know about that. Kang is certainly powerful… but I mean, if they’re pitting him against Ant-Man (no offense), how strong can he REALLY be? I like Jonathan Majors in the role. He brings extra dimension to his character and we see enough of Kang to want more but against a guy that can grow and shrink, he's an ill-fit. It's almost like Ant-Man is a B- to C-tier character that didn't have a great rogues gallery, so they slotted in someone else for the Phase's sake…
There’s another villain in the film: the “I don’t know how we’re going to make this guy work in live-action” M.O.D.O.K. Some of what they do with the Mechanical Organism Designed Only for Killing is inventive. What ultimately happens to the character, however, just doesn’t work. Generally, the comedy in the film is amusing but it’ll give you severe emotional whiplash more than once and when director Peyton Reed and/or writer Jeff Loveness use M.O.D.O.K. humorously, it lands with a resounding "thud".
I’ve been pretty harsh on Ant-Man 3 so far, which makes me a little sad. I was never bored watching it. The climactic battle is fun and Kang's slew of powerful abilities means the stakes are high. The cast is great, with the family dynamics between the in-laws and between Scott & Cassie being the highlights. The picture teems with unique sights, which makes it fun to just watch. You’ve always got a crazy alien, some weird animal, bizarre architecture or something else moving somewhere and their designs show a lot of inventiveness.
I wasn’t crazy about Ant-Man and the Wasp. I’m not crazy about this follow-up either. Actually, this is a step up from the last one. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. This third chapter introduces important concepts and characters to the MCU. There are enough moments that work to make it worth seeing as part of a subscription package, for the price of a rental or even if a discounted ticket at the cinema. When you do, stay through the credits to see what's coming next. (August 11, 2023)

Day 16: The first review!
We got the first review of the movie thanks to Hobbyconsolas.
Here's what it says:
Tadeo Jones began his adventures in a series of short films that imitated the stories of the most famous archaeologist in the world of cinema but adding an unexpected twist, a gag. They were good, they were funny and they were short.
In 2012 it was time to continue expanding the phenomenon, but for the feature film they could no longer play the same, it was not enough with a joke and a twist in the script, they needed characters who could sustain a plot of an hour and a half, they needed a more consistent story.
They failed to keep up with the shorts. The movie was funny but it wasn’t good, its best jokes referenced pop culture and other movies without providing too original humor, its characters were stereotypes, both the good ones and the bad ones, the animation was very poor.
But the set worked internationally and the possibility arose of making a sequel that improved on the first in all aspects. The character voiced by Michelle Jenner (Sara) was remodeled so that she was not so sexualized, Tad returned to Spain to exploit the rich iconography of our country and the character of the mummy took on greater prominence.
Five years after his last installment, Tadeo returns with Tadeo Jones 3. The Emerald Tablet.
Tadeo Jones 3 improves the second installment in several aspects
At this point there is no need to beat around the bush, the third movie Tadeo Jones does exactly the same as the second but a little better but without reaching excellence. It doesn’t have too many pretensions and gives you exactly what it promises: more adventure, more countries and more characters. The objective is fulfilled.
Tadeo Jones 3 starts as always start an adventure of Tadeo, with the character exploring some ruins, about to discover a great mystery, only to be revealed a few seconds later that he is actually at work.
Fortunately for him, the days of working on the construction site are behind him and he is finally dedicating himself professionally to his dream of being an archaeologist, although he is still not fully respected by his colleagues in the guild.
Tadeo Jones 3 introduces a diverse group of new characters who are very charismatic and with attractive designs, among which are included: some arrogant archaeologists, a couple of policemen and, the great star of the film, a new mummy.
Despite the fact that the trailers have already revealed who the character is, it is better not to know anything about her so as not to spoil one of the best moments of the film.
For this installment, a better fit has been achieved between the old acquaintances and the new additions, with Sara losing some prominence in favor of Tadeo and his friends: Mummy, Jeff and Belzoni.
The villains have also been considerably improved, since we no longer find characters that are bad and good, we find people who are on different sides due to different circumstances.
We could even say that the humor has also climbed slightly, despite the fact that it remains simple, without bursting into laughter and maintaining the same type of references to pop culture with a cameo. Of course, there are still jokes that are repeated too much.
Who will surely enjoy this section the most will be the children’s audience when they see again the clumsiness of the dog and the parrot and the chaotic mummy.
The story follows the same path as its jokes. From the moment it arises Tadeo’s goal in the movie, you know perfectly well that during the rest of the footage you are going to be watching how he strives to reach it, dodging multiple obstacles along the way as he travels the world once again on the run from the law.
This time Spain is left out of the equation, and instead we visited a site in Mexico, then explored Chicago, France and Egypt. Paris becomes the best setting in the film, with a careful recreation, which also includes a fantastic chase across the Seine equivalent to the chase through Granada of the second installment.
In its animation, some shots around Egypt also stand out, with the sand of the dunes, the reflections of the water and the lighting of his characters… But on the other hand, much of the film is much less polished, as if it had not been possible to find a balance between realism and the cartoon of its scenarios.
In general, when you watch an animated film, you assume fiction as a new reality for the next few hours, but when that world makes an effort to show you its contrasts, it is harder to enter it.
Many textures seem to be several years old, there are lighting that are not completely successful and make the whole look unnatural and take you out of the film. In Taseo Jones 3 the technical jump is less noticeable with respect to the one that existed from the first installment to the second.
During a sequence in which events from the past are explained to us through the use of 2D animation, they make us dream of an alternative version of Tadeo Jones that perhaps it would have been better achieved at a technical level.
Tadeo Jones 3. The Emerald Tablet  is not terrible and it is not perfect, there are aspects in which it needs to be polished and others in which it improves what we had seen in Tadeo Jones 2.
It's continuous, but it's correct, perhaps it's even unnecessary, but it can become good entertainment for a summer afternoon. Little more can be asked of a successful saga that was born dead.
ASSESSMENT: Tadeo Jones 3 is better than its previous installments but it is still not a perfect film. At least it gives you a good dose of adventures through different countries of the world with charismatic characters.
THE BEST: The construction and interaction of their characters with respect to previous installments. The chase on the Seine.
THE WORST: The story is predictable and its humor simpleton. The animation needs polishing.
Tadeo Jones 3. The Emerald Tablet opens in theaters on August 26.
-----------------------------------------------
So this reviewer didn't like the first movie. Like at all.
But admits they liked the sequel and that the third movie is better than the second one, which is great news.
Guess that Ra-Amon-Ah becoming a hit character was right, as she is one of the best moments of the film. It is great, haven't seen the movie nor I have the whole context of her character, but I love Ramona already. And seems like there is not forced romance (I don't think the story being predictable refers to that)
They reduced Sara's screentime... I sort of saw that coming? Maybe she will have two or three scenes of her seaching for Tad around the world before reuniting with him and encountering Victoria Moon. At least that would mean more screentime with Mummy & Ramona.
Scenes of flashbacks in 2D that wish the movie was like that entirely? Like the Paititi flashback and Max Mordon's introduction? Because Lord, those were some gorgerous animations worth competing with Dreamworks El Dorado and Disney The Emperor's new Groove.
Also flashbacks of who? Hermes and Ramona? Are we going to see the great Pharaoh Ra-Amon-Ah when she was alive!? Please, please! We want to see her backstory and lore.
"The construction and interaction of their characters with respect to previous installments" Sounds very promising, very good actually. I think they meant also Tad & Mummy's relationship and maybe Ramona's with the others.
There are no villains, only people on different sides. Yes! That means there is hope for the bully team as they will be only pompous and not malevolent.
Using many repeated jokes? Are they talking about the rubber chicken and the red lightsaber? Maybe, I hope so.
At least they didn't say that Mummy is annoying or somerhing like that. Phew...

"Human Kind Of" Is A Fun Mature Animated Comedy Series
Tumblr media
What if a nerdy teenage girl learns that her father was from another planet and has to deal with the consequences? Human Kind Of answers that question in intriguing short animated episodes, as she learns about herself with help from her mom and friends.
Reprinted from The Geekiary, my History Hermann WordPress post, and Wayback Machine. This was the thirty-first article I wrote for The Geekiary. This post was originally published on February 22, 2022.
Human Kind Of is an animated mature comedy web series, running for 21 episodes, ranging in length from 4 to 10 minutes. The show's creator is Diana McCorry, a speculative fiction writer and sci-fi fan, who wrote Magical Girl Friendship Squad: Origins, the pilot series for Magical Girl Friendship Squad. Although Human Kind Of is a little-known series, it shines in its own way.
As a warning, this recommendation discusses some spoilers for Human Kind Of.
Tumblr media
Human Kind Of centers around one character, Judy Reilly (voiced by Michelle Trachtenberg), her friend Cory (voiced by Kate Berlant), and her mom Iris (voiced by Jill Talley). There's also Mr. Russo (voiced by Zak Orth), a biology teacher whose class Judy and Cory are in at high school. Orth also voices a number of other characters such as Ethan, Judy's dad, and Eye Patch.
The story is primarily from Judy's perspective as she struggles in high school as a half-alien, half-human girl. Supporting characters include The Man (voiced by Jeremy Bent), Melissa (voiced by Jamie Loftus), the GPS (voiced by McCorry), Callie (voiced by John Early), Mr. Jake (voiced by Early), Ms. Coward (voiced by Betsy Sodaro), and Hungry Alien (voiced by Sodaro).
Human Kind Of is a comedy from the get-go with hilarious bits mixed with blood and violence. This includes the period monster that comes out of Judy in the first episode. Unlike some other series, Human Kind Of is specifically animated, written, and created by women. That makes it different from other animated comedies like Ollie & Scoops and Milo Murphy's Law, but similar in some respects to Magical Girl Friendship Squad, another animation by Cartuna which came out a few years ago.
From the first episode of Human Kind Of, you are thrown right into the action and easily become familiar with the characters. This is one of the strengths of the series, as there isn't a long list of names to remember. The latter is something that the anime series Cue! and the comic book series Lumberjanes, to give two examples, suffer from.
Throughout Human Kind Of, Judy's character develops from a nerdy student to someone who is more sure of herself in the world. This is despite the fact that by the end of the series, she is still learning more about herself. This makes the series intriguing despite its short length.
One aspect that pulled me into the series was the focus on child abandonment and a single-parent family. This is in contrast to the themes projected in animated series from Disney like Milo Murphy's Law, Elena of Avalor, Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, Phineas & Ferb, and Kim Possible, which show families as wholesome and without fault, with some characters even singing about it.
Human Kind Of is not alone in this focus. Some indie animations appear to have similar themes, like Ethan Becker's Delinquents, which focuses on bad kids who live in an abusive household. Nothing like that would ever be seen anywhere near the Disney Channel or Disney+, at least not as an animated series. However, other series, like Twelve Forever, have featured single-parent families.
The theme of child abandonment is handled well, starting with Judy learning about her father. She is intrigued at first, then annoyed when he leaves her behind after he promises that she will be a planetary ambassador. At the end of the series, he returns and charms her. She goes with him, hoping things changed. It turns out, that he's only using her to conduct a business deal so that Earth can be sold to scumbags. She is saved from her father thanks to the intervention by her mom, Cory, Mr. Russo, and others.
In contrast to her dad, her mother, Iris, is loving and supportive, even when Judy is at her lowest. When Mr. Russo, also from another planet, begins a relationship with Iris, he becomes Judy's father of sorts, expanding her social safety net.
The sci-fi elements of Human Kind Of are intriguing. This goes beyond characters from other planets. In typical fashion, they meet men in black who track alien life, like those who appear in Kid Cosmic, 3Below, or Roswell Conspiracies: Aliens, Myths, and Legends, except these men are not as competent. Even their leader, only known as "The Man," becomes Judy's friend of sorts later on.
Although the series doesn't include any outward LGBTQ characters, there are inferences you could make about the relationships that characters have with one another. There is a growing, yet rocky at times, connection between Judy and Cory, with Cory saying on various occasions that she loves Judy. However, this appears to be platonic love rather than romantic love. There is also an episode where a man buys 35 rings for his wife and his partners. So, LGBTQ people exist in this world but aren't necessarily in the main cast.
Despite this, romance is a key part of the series. Judy has a crush on Ethan, trying to go out with him. Once he realizes she is part alien, he gets disgusted with her. She snaps, telling him that she is still figuring herself out and that he is a jerk for not accepting her for who she is. This is one of the many scenes in the series about self-acceptance. Judy continues to have feelings for him but never gets back together with him.
youtube
Friendship is a major theme in Human Kind Of. Judy and Cory are best friends and have a lot of chemistry together. Cory is the only one in school who thinks that it is cool that Judy is from a different planet. In one episode, they begin to split apart after Judy uses her shapeshifting power to be with the "cool kids" at school. She later reconciles and apologizes, showing that their friendship can weather any storm.
The show's music, by Cody McCorry, who also composed music for Ghosts on the Coast, carries the series. The ending theme, for instance, is spooky and inviting at the same time. Other music fits with the mood of the series.
The animation of Human Kind Of is nothing on par with Arcane or Disenchantment, but it's adequate enough to tell the story. If The Proud Family can have a decent story without much background details, then any story can do that.
The parts about Judy learning about her powers as half-alien/half-human, were fun. It made the series that much more enjoyable. During the course of the series, Judy learns she has powers like telepathy, mind-reading, and invisibility.

The episodes of Human Kind Of, which aired from September to October 2018, are directed by twins Joy Buran and Noelle Melody, the show's animation directors. This series was their biggest production as they had only done animated shorts before this series.
Melody was also one of the show's editors, along with Mike Parker. Adam and James Belfer were executive producers for the series. Belfer is the CEO of Cartuna, while Adam was a producer for shows such as Magical Girl Friendship Squad and Loafy.
McCorry wrote most of the episodes, sometimes alone, and other times with Daniel Shepard. Loftus, a stand-up comedian, was one of the show's writers, as was Moujan Zolfaghari.
Shepard, another executive producer for the series, is well known for producing series like Liverspots and Astronuts and Magical Friendship Squad: Origins. Zolfaghari, an Iranian writer, actor, and voice-over artist is known for her acting roles in live-action comedy series. Human Kind Of appears to be the only animated series that Zolfaghari has been a part of.
The voice actors were one of the strong suits of the series. For Trachtenberg, this series was a major voice acting role. Berlant, whose mother is of Spanish and Cuban descent, and whose father is of Jewish heritage, is a more seasoned comedian and actress. She appeared in the 2018 film, Sorry to Bother You and the animated series BoJack Horseman.
Talley is just as well-known, appearing in more animated series than Trachtenberg, Berlant, or Orth. Furthermore, Bent, Early, and Sodaro voiced characters in Science! and Big City Greens.
Although Human Kind Of is still on Facebook Watch and its eighth episode was nominated for an Annie Award, it will likely never be renewed and will not return. Even though this streaming platform is still active, only two animated series, apart from Human Kind Of, specifically Liverspots and Astronots and Human Discoveries, have been added.
Both of these series have ended and were not renewed. Even if you argued that Facebook Watch is still offering "some good content," as Farid asserted back in September 2018, none of that content currently includes animation.
This is unfortunate because it means similar to Cleopatra in Space and Magical Girl Friendship Squad, which are on the subpar Peacock streaming platform, Human Kind Of is stuck on Facebook Watch. It is on a platform that people would not typically look for animated series.
I'm not sure why the series wasn't uploaded to YouTube instead, because it would thrive on there. I hope Human Kind Of is renewed someday for a second season because the first season ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. I would love to see it continue!
In the end, if you want to watch a coming-of-age story about a teenage girl/alien who is trying to figure herself out, with its absurdity and wacky storylines, then give Human Kind Of a try on Facebook Watch.

🌙The Dream Princess & Her Homunculus Knight🌙
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: Heyo, so this is an AU I (JTA/@jazminetoad) have been working on for quite a while as a gift for Michelle. I originally planned to write a full story but... I'm not good at writing romance for the life of me 😅 so I sorta just wrote the history of events that'd lead up to the main story and the summary of the plot. I hope you enjoy this AU, Michelle, you are a great friend and have been wonderful & kind so I wanted to make this just for you 😊 Happy Birthday 🎉
Inspirations: The Revolutionary Princess Eve, Kill the Villainess, Fullmetal Alchemist, Once Upon A Time, and (of course) One Piece
AU Concept and Summary-
For years, the royal families across the kingdom practice magic and alchemy for their benefit. Each one specialized in their own unique talent, from weather creation to element control, and the royal families were always the most powerful in their kingdom's field. Two kingdoms often allied with one another if they needed such talent from the other. A war between two kingdoms brought much misfortune among the citizen when magic and alchemy were used in the crossfire, from famine to floods, there were always greater losses in the end. So it became an unspoken rule for the royal families to turn a blind eye to what goes on in other kingdoms to never begin war.
The Falsomya kingdom specialized in illusion magic. They weren't the wealthiest kingdom since not many kingdoms needed said talent so they rarely got to export and had to pay higher prices of gold for imports. Yet, even so, many love to visit Falsomya. Most say the kingdom is like being in a paradise that can only exist in a dream. Lots of the citizens became entertainers, and adventurers from far places would travel there to see the wonderful shows Falsomya would display. The king was always welcoming new illusionists that had special skills to come and join the ranks, so festivals were often held for the citizens to show off.
King Vincent, the ruler of Falsomya, was never able to have children of his own so he brought in orphans to be his royal children. Each one specialized in different types of illusions that were unique. He helped them master their illusion magic, giving them the books and resources needed.
Rumours of the youngest princess, To Hong Michelle, say she's been blessed with the ability to warp people's dreams, a special gift that has never been granted before. She discovered this magic talent at the age of five. As the sweet innocent child Michelle was, she tried to create blissful dreams for the servants of the palace, because of this, the servants made sure to take great care of the princess as a show of their gratitude. However, Michelle had one more talent people weren't aware of, she could enter people's dreams.
Discovered by accident, Michelle was creating a nice dream for the king. Upon entering by mistake, both were confused until Vincent connected the dots. This ability was amazing, but it also may cause harm if not done carefully. The king advised the princess to not use this magic on people for there is too much unknown about this, if she does wish to use it she must train this ability until she fully understands.
The rumours of Falsomya's youngest princess being able to warp people's dreams reach the Dressrosa kingdom, right to the palace for Donquixote Doflamingo, the king himself, to hear. Now it was a known fact for the Donquixote family that their king has night terrors. When they received the news that this child is capable of warping dreams this piqued their interest, they were willing to give the Falsomya kingdom their greatest resources in exchange for their king to have pleasant dreams. Everyone across the land knew the Dressrosa kingdom was the most powerful kingdom of all, having no need to trade with other kingdoms and no one dared wage war with Dressrosa, knowing they would lose. A few kingdoms have tried but in the end, all fell to ruin and no one knew what came of the people who used to live in those forgotten kingdoms. So for the Donquixote family to want to ally with a kingdom is big news.
Now, around this time, the Falsomya kingdom had been facing problems with monsters and other hostile creatures near their borders. Their citizens were growing scared to leave, many having already been injured, and the kingdom only had enough guards to keep the beasts out of the kingdom. Even at that, a third of their soldiers only knew how to create illusions to intimate the enemy and weren't skilled enough to fight strong foes. Illusions were no good when the enemy is a mindless creature that is unable to be frightened. So when Doflamingo himself requested an audience with King Vincent it was considered a miracle.
Doflamingo offered to supply the Falsomya kingdom with all the soldiers they'd ever need if King Vincent agreed to let the youngest princess live in the Donquixote palace. Now King Vincent wasn't going to make this deal without Michelle having a say in the matter so he brought the princess to the court for her to know the situation and let her decide to go or not. The kingdom would be saved, and she would be using her magic to help someone in need, so Michelle agreed to live in the Donquixote palace.
Entering the palace felt strange, there were multiple guards around. Every doorway, window, following closely behind others (those must've been personal knights, something Michelle had only ever heard about from other kingdoms). Michelle wondered how so many guards could exist in one kingdom. Were there that many children that wished to be knights when they grew up? Perhaps their magic/alchemy was more fit to be a guard, or maybe they had no magic/alchemy so they could only be a guard. Then it was explained to her. The special talent Dressrosa's kingdom had is puppeteer magic and alchemy.
Dressrosa's magic users could control outside monsters to keep them away or puppeteer animals & toys for their amusement. Their alchemy created homunculi who were practically human puppets. Over half of the royal guards in Dressrosa were homunculi, trained from the moment they were created. Some of those homunculi had the privilege to be a personal knight for a member of the royal family. Other homunculi were placed in the mines or did jobs no one else wanted to do, and not one person treated them as humans, just puppets.
After telling the princess how the kingdom is, Doflamingo informs Michelle that if she performs well that she will be considered a part of the family and receive her own personal knight at her coming of age ceremony. Michelle asks what if she doesn't want one. Doflamingo strongly advised against the idea of denying it, saying it's taboo. He mentions that she doesn't have to do anything with it but every member gets one to at least be protected at all times.
For the next few years, Michelle grows up in the Donquixote palace, learning their customs and way of life. Attending their balls and social gatherings (which really showed how homunculi were just objects since they were required to wear a tag with their owner's name as an earring) but only going when required after the first few times since she didn't like seeing the objectification homunculi were given. With her intelligence and the pleasant dreams she gives the king, Michelle quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Doflamingo's second favourite, only unable to surpass the king's dear brother.
When Michelle's coming age ceremony arrives, Doflamingo gives her his most valued knight: Law.
Now Law is a homunculus yet because he is favoured by Doflamingo, he has received the highest possible rank in the Dressrosa army. A few of the human knights have their doubts that their superior is a homunculus, only believing a human should be given a high position. Those who voice it out loud have been killed for questioning his majesty's decisions.
Unfair? Injustice? Doflamingo doesn't care. He had created the homunculus Law from his own alchemy abilities since it was the only way to save the boy who reminded Doflamingo of his younger self.
Law didn't care either. All he wanted was to see the world burn for what they had done to his family and the forgotten Flevance. Being used as a tool for war didn't matter, being human didn't matter, and Law loyally served for his highness. Doflamingo gave him life so he could have the chance for revenge.
It's a surprise to many, including Law and Michelle, that Doflamingo would present the princess with his most valuable knight. Doffy on the other hand knew this to be the only correct choice. Since Michelle dislikes the mistreatment of homunculi, she should receive one who is not allowed to be discriminated against, and he knows the princess wouldn't misuse Law so she is the only one who may have the homunculus as her personal knight. Law's undying loyalty and the lengths he goes to achieve the impossible for Doflamingo makes him the only trusted person to keep Michelle safe. They are both in good hands.
Both had to take time to get used to being around each other, both foreign to the other's nature. As days passed the two grow closer and inseparable, the only time they were not in the same room is when the princess was using her dream magic.
All seemed well in the kingdom of Dressrosa, and Michelle found herself enjoying life here. Occupied by her duties and distracted by the new arising feelings for her personal knight, she didn't visit the Falsomya kingdom and is unaware of how much control Dressrosa has secretly grasped.
A large number of the native knights of Falsomya have been turned into homunculi, even a few citizens. Toys and animals that were among its people all came from puppeteers that still had control over them. Worst of it all, the monsters that had originally attacked the kingdom were once the beasts that bordered the Dressrosa kingdom but now have strings attached.
Michelle had stumbled upon a few pieces from the king's dreams, though only once or twice, and some from a few export documents she discovered. It wasn't until the princess and her homunculus had run into a "ghost" in the forest's trees did they get informed of the whole situation.
Now it's up to Michelle to save her kingdom, but with the help of some "ghosts", and her knight by her side, Michelle will be able to take back her home.
M's reaction: I wonder if my happy outburst could be heard all the way from Canada Jaz, because I am in love with this AU lore & may hyper-fixate on it along with the many I have. You 100% made my day even happier. The moodboard and graphics are astounding (you know me so well by now) and the ghost in the forest seems like a particularly interesting figure--we'll have to discuss this. I honestly cannot thank you enough for the time, effort, and creativity you took to make this for me & even a thousand words of gratitude would not be enough. I am very grateful to have gotten to know you this year & call you a good friend, and I hope we can keep creating so long as we're able. Thank you for being with me since the beginning and here's to many more!

Short love: Chp 11
Tumblr media
Summary: The is about widowed father Bradley Bradshaw who enlists his brother-in-law Jake Seresin and childhood best friend Robert Floyd to help raise his three daughters, eldest Donna Jo Margaret (D.J for short), middle child Stephanie and youngest Michelle in his San Diego home.
Pairing: Jake "Hangman" Seresin x Reader
Warning: Fluff, flirting
With nimble steps that barely made a sound, three-year-old Michelle managed to slip away from the bustling breakfast scene in the kitchen. With determination in her little heart, she made her way up the big wooden stairs, her tiny hand grasping the railing for support as she ascended.
As she reached the top of the stairs, a mischievous twinkle danced in her eyes as she approached Jake and Y/n's bedroom. With a sense of adventure driving her forward, she pushed open the door, the hinges creaking softly in protest.
Inside the room, Y/n lay peacefully asleep, her chest rising and falling in the rhythm of slumber. Michelle's heart swelled with excitement as she tiptoed closer to the bed, her small frame barely making a sound on the wooden floorboards.
Leaning in close, she gently shook Y/n's shoulder, her voice a hushed whisper. "Aunt Y/n, wake up!" she called softly, her eyes wide with anticipation.
Y/n stirred from her sleep, her eyes fluttering open to find her niece standing beside her bed, a grin stretching across her tiny face. "Michelle, what are you doing here?" Y/n asked, her voice filled with sleepy curiosity.
With a giggle, Michelle shrugged innocently, her eyes shining with mischief. "I wanted to wake you up, Aunt Y/n!" she exclaimed, her excitement bubbling over.
Y/n couldn't help but smile at her niece's antics, her heart melting at the sight of the little girl standing before her. With a gentle laugh, she reached out to pull Michelle into a warm hug, her arms enveloping her in a cocoon of love and affection.
Together, they shared a sweet moment of connection, the bond between aunt and niece growing stronger with each passing day. And as they cuddled together in the early morning light, Y/n knew that these precious moments were what made life truly beautiful.
---
As the conversation in the kitchen concluded and DJ and Stephanie bid their farewells before leaving, a few minutes passed before Bradley, Bob, and Jake noticed that Michelle was nowhere to be seen.
Panic surged within them as they scanned the kitchen, their hearts racing when they realized the door was left ajar. "Michelle!" Bradley's voice echoed through the house, tinged with worry.
Jake quickly joined Bradley and Bob at the door, his eyes searching the surroundings in hopes of spotting the little girl. "She might have slipped out when DJ and Stephanie left," he suggested, his tone urgent.
With determination, the three of them rushed outside, their gazes darting around frantically, calling out for Michelle in hopes of her response.
But just as their concern peaked, a familiar giggle reached their ears from upstairs. "She's with Y/n," Jake realized, relief washing over him as they hurried back into the house.
Upstairs, Y/n smiled as Michelle played beside her on the bed, unaware of the chaos she had caused. "You gave us quite a scare, little one," Y/n chuckled, pulling Michelle into a tight embrace.
With Michelle safe and sound, Bradley, Bob, and Jake breathed a collective sigh of relief, grateful for the happy ending to their moment of panic. And as they settled back into the kitchen, they couldn't help but cherish the precious moments they shared as a family, thankful for the love and bond that held them together.
---
With a gentle smile, Y/n lifted Michelle up into her arms, cradling her close as they began their descent downstairs. As they descended, Y/n leaned in close to Michelle, her voice soft and gentle.
"Did the boys know you were upstairs with me?" she asked, her tone laced with curiosity.
Michelle shook her head, her expression innocent and wide-eyed. "Nope, it was a secret!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.
Y/n chuckled softly at Michelle's response, her heart swelling with love for the little girl in her arms. "Well, we should let them know next time, okay?" she said, her voice warm and reassuring.
Michelle nodded eagerly, her eyes shining with anticipation. "Okay, Aunt Y/n!" she replied, her small hand reaching out to squeeze Y/n's fingers.
With a smile, Y/n continued down the stairs, feeling grateful for the precious moments she shared with her niece. And as they rejoined the rest of the family in the kitchen, she couldn't help but cherish the bond they shared, thankful for the love and joy Michelle brought into her life.
When Y/n made it down the stairs with Michelle in her arms, Bradley, Bob, and Jake let out a collective sigh of relief. They exchanged glances, their expressions softened with reassurance now that Michelle was safe and sound.
"Thank goodness you're alright, kiddo," Bradley said, his voice filled with relief as he reached out to ruffle Michelle's hair.
Bob nodded in agreement, a warm smile spreading across his face. "We were worried about you, munchkin," he added, his tone gentle and reassuring.
Jake stepped forward, his eyes filled with concern as he reached out to gently squeeze Y/n's shoulder. "Thanks for looking after her, Y/n," he said, his voice sincere with gratitude.
Y/n returned Jake's smile, feeling grateful for the support of her family. "Of course, she's my little sidekick," she replied, her voice filled with affection as she hugged Michelle close.
With Michelle safe and sound, the tension that had filled the room dissipated, replaced by a sense of warmth and love. And as they settled back into the kitchen, surrounded by the comforting presence of family, they couldn't help but cherish the bond that held them together, thankful for the moments of joy and reassurance that filled their lives.
Y/n gently placed Michelle down, watching with a smile as the little girl ran into Bob's arms, her laughter filling the room. With Michelle happily settled, Y/n turned to Jake, feeling the warmth of his arms as he wrapped them around her.
"Hey, Bradley," she said, turning to her friend, "do you mind dropping me off at the station? We work in the same building today."
Bradley nodded, a grin spreading across his face. "Sure thing, Y/n. I'll swing by in a bit."
Grateful for Bradley's offer, Y/n leaned into Jake's embrace, feeling a sense of comfort and support wash over her. With her family by her side, she knew she could face whatever the day had in store. And as they prepared to head out, she couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the love and connection they shared.
----
D.J. and Stephanie arrived home to find Bob waiting on the couch with Michelle. He sat there, patiently, with a smile on his face, ready to hand over the responsibility of looking after Michelle and Stephanie to D.J., who was the eldest and therefore deemed the most responsible, as she had to run to a comedy gig.
"Hey, Bob," D.J. greeted as she walked in, her voice filled with warmth.
"Hey, guys," Bob replied, a playful grin crossing his face. "I've got to dash off to a comedy gig, but Michelle and Stephanie are in good hands with you, D.J."
D.J. nodded, a sense of pride filling her as she took on the role of caregiver for her younger sisters. "No problem, Bob. We've got it covered."
Stephanie beamed, excited at the prospect of spending time with her big sister. "Thanks, Uncle Bob!" she exclaimed, giving him a quick hug before turning her attention to D.J.
With a wave goodbye, Bob headed out the door, leaving D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle to enjoy their time together as a family.
D.J. invited her best friend Kimmy over, and they headed to D.J. and Stephanie's shared room to do homework. As they settled in, Michelle wandered in, unnoticed by Stephanie, who was stressed in the corner.
"There's a car in the kitchen," Michelle announced, her eyes wide with excitement.
Kimmy and D.J. burst into laughter, thinking it was one of Michelle's playful jokes. "Yeah, and there's a bus in the bathroom," D.J. replied, joining in on the fun.
Stephanie looked up, finally noticing Michelle's presence. "Wait, what?" she asked, confusion evident on her face as she tried to catch up with the conversation, even though she's the reason behind this incident.
But D.J. and Kimmy continued to laugh, their homework momentarily forgotten as they enjoyed the playful banter with Michelle. And as they continued their evening together, Stephanie couldn't help but smile at the joy and laughter filling the room.
A little while later, D.J. and Kimmy, feeling thirsty, decided to head down to the kitchen. As they descended the stairs, chatting and giggling, they couldn't have anticipated what they were about to witness.
Their laughter turned to shock as they reached the kitchen and found a car sitting right there, seemingly having crashed through the wall. Their jaws dropped in disbelief, and they exchanged bewildered glances.
"D.J., is that... is that a car in the kitchen?" Kimmy stammered, her eyes wide with astonishment.
D.J. blinked, trying to process the surreal scene before her. "I... I think it is," she replied, her voice filled with incredulity.
As they approached the car cautiously, they realized that Michelle's earlier announcement wasn't a joke after all. The car was very much there, its presence a bizarre and unexpected sight in their familiar kitchen.
With hearts racing and minds reeling, D.J. and Kimmy could only stand there, trying to make sense of the inexplicable situation unfolding before them. And as they contemplated what to do next, they couldn't shake the feeling that their evening had taken an unexpected turn into the realm of the extraordinary.
As D.J. and Kimmy stood there, dumbfounded by the sight of the car in the kitchen, they heard the sound of little footsteps approaching from behind. Turning around, they saw Michelle toddling down the stairs with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"I told you so," Michelle chimed in her three-year-old innocence, a triumphant smile spreading across her face.
D.J. knelt down to Michelle's level, her brow furrowed with confusion. "Michelle, did you see how the car got here?" she asked, her voice gentle but curious.
Michelle nodded eagerly, her expression innocent and unassuming. "Yep, it came in through the window," she replied matter-of-factly, her eyes sparkling with innocence.
D.J. and Kimmy exchanged incredulous looks, trying to process Michelle's explanation. The idea of a car crashing through a window seemed almost too absurd to believe, but with Michelle's unwavering conviction, they couldn't help but wonder if there was some truth to her words.
With more questions than answers, D.J. and Kimmy turned their attention back to the car, still sitting incongruously in the middle of the kitchen. And as they tried to unravel the mystery of its unexpected arrival, they couldn't shake the feeling that they were in for quite an adventure.
As Jake entered the kitchen, his voice echoed through the room. "Girls, I'm home!" he announced cheerfully, his face obscured by three paper shopping bags as he reached out to find his way around. But instead of feeling the familiar surface of the kitchen table, his hand brushed against something unexpected. With a confused grunt, he dropped the bags onto the object with a muttered, "Lord have mercy."
Before he could finish his sentence, Michelle piped up, her innocent voice cutting through the confusion. "There's a car in the kitchen," she declared matter-of-factly, completing Jake's sentence for him.
Jake blinked in surprise, his sarcasm momentarily overshadowed by the absurdity of the situation. "Thank you, Michelle," he replied dryly, his tone laced with amusement as he tried to make sense of the unexpected discovery.
With a shake of his head, Jake moved closer to the car, his mind racing with questions and disbelief. And as he joined D.J. and Kimmy in their efforts to unravel the mystery, he couldn't help but marvel at the unpredictable twists and turns of family life.
Jake's gaze turned to D.J., who was supposed to be in charge, his expression a mix of confusion and disbelief. "D.J., how on earth did a car get in our kitchen?" he asked incredulously, his voice tinged with disbelief.
D.J. exchanged a bewildered glance with Kimmy before they both turned to Michelle, who was standing nearby, her innocent expression unchanged. Taking a cue from Michelle's earlier explanation, D.J. repeated, "Through the window."
Kimmy nodded eagerly, adding her agreement. "Yeah, through the window," she chimed in, her voice echoing D.J.'s sentiment.
Jake blinked, trying to process the surreal explanation. A car crashing through the window seemed like something out of a movie, not something that could actually happen in their own home. But as he looked around at the bewildered faces of his family, he couldn't deny that something extraordinary had indeed occurred.
With a shake of his head and a bemused chuckle, Jake joined the others in their efforts to make sense of the situation. And as they exchanged theories and ideas, he couldn't help but marvel at the unpredictable adventures that seemed to follow them wherever they went.
Jake shook his head in disbelief as he scooped up Michelle into his arms, a wry smile tugging at his lips. "Y/n is going to kill me," he murmured to himself, a sense of impending doom settling over him.
To his surprise, Michelle, with all the sass of a three-year-old, cut in with a cheeky remark. "Oh yes she will," she chimed in, her tone playful and mischievous.
Jake chuckled, unable to resist the infectious energy of his niece. "Thanks for the vote of confidence, Michelle," he replied, his voice laced with amusement.
With Michelle in his arms and the weight of Y/n's inevitable wrath on his mind, Jake headed out of the kitchen, ready to face whatever consequences awaited him. And as he navigated the twists and turns of family life, he couldn't help but marvel at the unpredictability and joy that came with it.

Tomei, Tudyk, Trejo, Swallow Among Additions to FAN EXPO Philadelphia In Next Wave of Celebrities
Tumblr media
Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny, The Wrestler) and fan favorites Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, “Firefly”), Danny Trejo (Machete, The Book of Boba Fett), Emily Swallow (“The Mandalorian,” “Supernatural”) and Jeff Ward (“One Piece,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) are among the additions to the growing celebrity lineup at FAN EXPO Philadelphia, set for May 3-5 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Joonas Suotamo (Star Wars) and Diana Lee Inosanto (“Ahsoka”) round out the newcomers to the roster.
Marisa Tomei blasted onto the scene with her Academy Award winning performance as “Mona Lisa Vito” opposite Joe Pesci in My Cousin Vinny. After the Best Supporting Actress win, she went on to roles in Chaplin, Untamed Heart and the Paper, later appearing on Broadway before earning two more Oscar nominations, the third for The Wrestler. She also had a recurring role in the hit series “Empire” and appeared as “Aunt May” in three Spider-Man blockbusters.
Alan Tudyk gained fans’ attention when he starred as wise-cracking "Hoban 'Wash' Washburne" in "Firefly" and Serenity, and later grabbed the “Star Wars” fandom with his portrayal of “K-2SO” in Rogue One. He also appeared in Wreck it Ralph and 42 and has lent his voice to characters in hits like “American Dad,” “Harley Quinn,” “Transformers: Earthspeak” and “Star vs. the Forces of Evil.”
Danny Trejo has developed a prolific career in the entertainment industry with a hard-earned and atypical road to success. From years of imprisonment to helping troubled youth battle drug addictions, from acting to producing, and now on to restaurant ventures, Trejo’s name, face, and achievements are well recognized in Hollywood and beyond. He has starred in dozens of films including Desperado, Heat, the From Dusk Till Dawn series, Con Air, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, the Spy Kids movies, Machete and many more.
With her portrayal of “The Armorer” in “The Mandalorian” in the hit Netflix series “The Mandalorian,” Emily Swallow added another role to her growing resume. She also appeared as “Kim Fischer,” a regular on “The Mentalist” and as “Amara / The Darkness” in the 11th season of “Supernatural.” She also voiced the role of “Lisa Tepes” in the animated Netflix fantasy action series “Castlevania.”
Jeff Ward played “Deke Shaw” as a regular on “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” from 2017-2020, and most recently appeared in the first season of the Netflix adventure/comedy “One Piece.” Fans will also recognize him from his work in “Brand New Cherry Flavor” and the TV movie Manson’s Lost Girls, where he gave an appropriately creepy performance as the cult leader.
Joonas Suotamo has assumed the mantle of the iconic role of “Chewbacca” in numerous iterations of the Star Wars saga since first appearing as the Wookiee in Episode VII – The Force Awakens in 2015. The Finnish actor also stepped out of the familiar character to appear in four episodes of the Disney series “Willow.”
Diana Lee Inosanto appears as “Morgan Elsbeth” in the Star Wars “Ahsoka” production on Disney+, opposite Rosario Dawson, David Tennant and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. She originated that role in an episode of “Mandalorian” in 2020 after appearing in dozens of movies and shows as a stunt person and a variety of other entertainment jobs.
They join a lineup that already includes headliners Mario Lopez (“Saved by the Bell,” “Access Hollywood”), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, “Gilmore Girls”), Felicia Day (“The Guild,” “Dragon Age: Redemption”), Ben McKenzie (“Gotham,” “The O.C.”), Holly Marie Combs (“Charmed,” “Picket Fences”), Adam Savage (“MythBusters,” “Unchained Reaction”), Michelle Hurd (“Star Trek: Picard,” “Law & Order: SVU”), Sofia Boutella (Rebel Moon, The Mummy) and Jason Lee (“My Name is Earl,” The Incredibles).
Single-Day Tickets, Three-Day Passes, Ultimate Fan and VIP Packages for FAN EXPO Philadelphia are available now. Advance pricing is available until April 18. More guest news will be released in the following weeks, including line-up reveals for additional headline celebrities, comic creator guests, voice actors and cosplayers.

Prince Loki, however, does not wish to be married, and he makes this clear to Tony even after their vows have been said before the priest. Life is no better for Tony in Castle Aysgarth than it was back in Iron Reach - he is as unwanted by Loki as he was by his father.
