Bucky and Yelena's dynamic was well established. A good mentor-mentee duo.

Bucky looks too done to lead the whole team, but has enough in him to help Yelena make it her purpose to lead the team well. We see her follow his lead and guidance, taking his experience and wisdom into whatever she does next in the plot.

Even hugging bob out of his anxiety and loneliness came from Bucky pointing it out to Yelena that the approach of beating up Bob's darkness up was not right, after which she does her super-cool obstacle course to get to Bob.

This trend continues into the post-credits sequence too and I'm looking forward to seeing how it grows.

Harsh words but wise ones and it is something that every Leo has to come to terms with. It’s scary to be responsible for the lives you care about most. All the more reason to do everything in your power to protect them and become the best leader you are able to be. In this piece I really wanted to capture Leo’s fear and anxiety about becoming leader and literally holding the lives of his brothers in his hands.

Back from my birthday hiatus, and um, wow... was not expecting this kind of overwhelmingly positive reaction to a simple QRT about how we used Dissolve Mode in our BG paintings on Carol and the End of the World (see last image) - since people seemed to have enjoyed that so much, I thought I'd put all the pages of the Carol and the End of the World BG Paint style guide I drafted in one post! TBH I'd been meaning to do this for awhile but kept forgetting since I have it in a different folder than the BG paintings themselves... I believe all the paintings are mine and all the designs are by Alex Myung unless otherwise noted. I wrote this pretty early on pre-vis, so some of these guidelines got a little massaged during production, but the broad strokes are definitely still there! This wasn't the only style guide on the show BTW! A couple of our other leads Alex Myung and Kal Athannassov also put together a BG and Character Design style guide that are super cool - unfortunately I don't have the files myself (nor would I feel comfortable posting work that's not mine) nor do I think they've posted them yet, so if you two were looking for a sign to do so, this is it!! Aziraphale is perfect.

Because he is obviously not.

Aziraphale is SUCH a wonderful character.

Because has many, many traits today's culture deems wrong or less than. Many stem from his introvert-like, autistic-like traits (I'm saying it like that because he's an angel, not a human, and I like that) and his deep seated anxiety (because he lives in a world that does not understand him, he does not fit in it, a world that wishes he changed or was eliminated to make things easier and he stopped being a problem).

He has 'boring' hobbies like books, journaling, classical music; his clothes are old and he does not change them because they are comfortable and they work. He loves - prefers, to be on his own, but he has a few friends, acquittances, knows quite a few people actually and is liked by most because he is truly kind and good.

On the other hand, some find him cold, aloof and unreadable as they don't take the time to look in deeper. He is not quick to act, he likes to think, consider his answers, his options. He does not have fast, witty responses, his humour is often deeper, more cutting than that. Aziraphale can be a fantastic leader because you can rely on him to give everything a deep ponder before he answers or decides on anything but rarely would anyone spot that in a world where loud, pushy, obnoxious people (I'm looking at you S1 Gabriel) are seen as the leader material.

He is unselfconscious about failing (at magic, French) because for him, it's the process that's important, the learning, understanding of it, that's the joy of it. Where we live in a world where we are often made feel bad for doing, trying something badly or not creating on 'professional level' (because if you are not making money of it, what are you making things for, right?).

And last but not least, Aziraphale is not tall, dark and skinny (which apparently for some --> the world at large, is a fault).

But - I adore when the fandom truly embraces Aziraphale as not conventionally perfect and NOT striving to be some current world's idea of 'perfect' either, which would HAVE US or him resemble or we are not worth anything (love, money, success, happiness). Aziraphale does not care that he 'should be' more skinny for some inexplicable reason no one can properly explain. He moans around his desserts and his demon looks at him as if was the only thing in the world worth looking at.

And that is why Aziraphale is amazing. He's simply himself; he's soft and silly and giggly and adorable and awkward and stubborn and a bit of a bastard who likes to get his way. He's powerful and strong and brave, resilient and righteous in the best ways but he does not flaunt it. He doubts himself and does not believe in himself and he has trouble asking for help and he doesn't think he can be happy, but those are just the things his abusers made him believe. He has deep trauma of the kind we can't even imagine but is always determined to see and find the best where he can. And he is loved. In a world full of cynicism, Aziraphale thinks hope is the best weapon we have.

As a leader, are there any MBTI types you dislike leading or having on your team?

I dislike people who are incompetent, unreliable, and lack integrity regardless of MBTI type.

In general, though, all the types are pains in my ass in their own special ways:

High Te (ENTJ, ESTJ, INTJ, ISTJ)

Doesn't play well with others; I constantly need to fix the feelings they hurt and cushion their communication so they don't end up pariahs that no one wants to work with.

Bulldozes through people to get things done, requires a 'pause' button and calm hand because they get frustrated easily with things going slow. Sometimes you need to go slow to go far.

Struggles with 'team building' and 'that touchy feely shit'; highly transactional.

(ESTJ & ISTJ) "Mr./Mrs. No", too quick to shoot down ambitious but unproven ideas because it hasn't worked before or will take a lot of effort to accomplish.

(ENTJ & INTJ) Convinced their weird 'reads' into things are correct despite evidence to the contrary staring them right in the face. Not everything has a deeper and hidden meaning.

High Fe (ENFJ, ESFJ, INFJ, ISFJ)

Whines a lot, about everything, and requires a lot of time and energy listening to their feelings.

Needs external validation and requires regular praise/feedback or else they'll assume you're mad at them. The sulking and internal spiraling is a bit much.

Avoids confrontation, mirrors other people's opinions, and requires pushing and pushing to get them to reveal their true opinions and stand their ground. Uses stronger people around them to represent their views (human shields).

Flaky, can't hit a deadline to save their lives. Requires check-ins and external pressure (group work) to hit milestones.

(ESTP & ISTP) Out of sight doesn't mean out of mind. There are things that can happen later in the future that we should plan for now.

(ENTP & INTP) Just because you read a book about some obscure topic once doesn't make you an expert. Books =/= reality. Don't be a backseat driver-- do it and prove it.

High Fi (INFP, ISFP, ENFP, ESFP)

Half asses everything they don't enjoy doing because this isn't their passion and their parents made them take this job when they really wanted to do art/music/acting something something.

Struggles to work with people who hold different political views than them; self-segregates.

Terrible at taking constructive criticism and feedback, gets defensive, shuts down, and takes everything personally.

(ENFP & INFP) Highly idealistic to the point they're blind to data that tells them the hard and cold truth, they struggle to manage practical things like resources, time, money.

(ESFP & ISFP) Out of sight doesn't mean out of mind. There are things that can happen later in the future that we should plan for now.
