I spent uh, a decent amount of time gathering my knowledge on almost all bug types to come up with a fitting ask game! I dont understand the Ultra Beasts and Paradox Pokemon nearly enough to have them here, though.

ISAT PKMN trainer assignments

i've been having brainrot recently and i havent really seen people doing pokemon trainer aus, just a lot of pokemon mystery dungeon aus which i think require different perspectives for so i figured i may as well give it a shot.

with my assignments i was making sure to think about actual symbolism and tried avoiding the canon pokemon assignments for a] more of a challenge and b] i havent really seen all of them so if i have picked some of the same pokemon my bad.

SIFFRIN

gimmighoul: tried taking siffrin's coin once, failed, now just hangs around with him and has gotten quite attatched.

minior: a pokemon he's had as long as he can remember. gets a lot of weird looks about it though and has never seen anyone else with one.

chingling: the only pokemon caught in the castle. ding ding!

popplio: what a little clown! a fool! just a litter jester doing a preformance!

hisuian sneasel: basically siffren's dagger. i picked the hisuian one over the johtonian one because it's white.

absol: not a pokemon he had before the loops and has a sneaking suspicion those two facts are related since it seems to remember them to an extent.

MIRABELLE

morpeko: i think mirabelle would like form changing pokemon and also. near the end of floor 3 mirabelle gets like, really annoyed and then eats and is fine. thats what morpeko does.

furfrou: a pokemon with plenty of styles to choose from! she hasn't been able to get it styled recently and while she is getting nervous of it not changing, she has noticed it's happier staying as it is.

indeedee: indeedees are helpful pokemon! often used as servants, i feel mirabelle would relate with this

palafin: a hero capable of change! and paladins tend to fight for a cause, often a religious one like who mirabelle is fighting as a maiden of change.

escavalier: we don't have a fencing pokemon but we do have a lancing pokemon! also the fact a shelmet has to be traded with a karrablast is something

ISABEAU

mimikyu: isabeau is constantly putting up a facade of being a bit air headed, disguisigng himself. i also think with mimkyu wearing a cloak with him being a fashion designer would make this the most stylish mimikyu the world has ever seen

leavanny: this pokemon is known for making clothes from it's silk and any leaves it finds, making it into a clothing maker of sorts, they're also super protective.

bewear: what a big sweetie! aw it loves hugging people, it can also snap your back in two... i feel like this the most fitting attacking pokemon isa with it's bulk, cuteness and hidden scariness [something we see from isabeau when he gets... very protective of the sif nickname]

ODILE

carbink: this was my first thought for an odile pokemon, it's a little rock! and with it's links to diancie, a perfect red herring for what she's studying, they're just native to ka bue. she hardly uses it in battle.

steelix: now this is her attacking pokemon! i know it doesn't cover her primary paper type technically but it does cover her use of rock and scissors type by being steel/ground. i also think she mega evolves it from time to time, for the gems theming.

relicanth: i tried to go with the theme of old pokemon for odile, not generations wise but in the way that relicanth hasn't changed in a millenia. it's also a map, which could be interesting with the island siffrin is from.

bronzong: i can't really explain this one i just think it fits with her character? maybe it's the shape language but it is another old pokemon, showing up in the ruins in arceus so once again, more red herrings for her research.

sinistcha: ka bue is very implied to be japan or at the barest of minimums asia. odile is absolutely a tea drinker to me, this might have been one of her earlier pokemon that came with her when she left ka bue. they also have similar hair

drampa: hahahahah funny grandpa dragon joke~ drampa is reported to burn down the houses of any bullies the child they've befriended, odile has said that she would do horrible things for the party. im not fucking with you. think is not just a odile is the grandma of the party joke. i am dead fucking serious when i say this is her most in character pokemon.

BONNIE

applin: i think bonnie tried to gather apples at somepoint and it turned out to be an applin, they kept it. they seem like the type of kid to enjoy bugs [im counting the none apple bit of applin a bug cause it is to me fuck off]

alcremie: a pokemon evolved completely by accident. their milcery took a strawberry from them while cooking and in an attempt to get it back, span around enough to where it evolved. just some complete loony toons bullshit

yungoose: their first pokemon! caught back in Bambouche and their main defence between themselves and sadnesses when they left. i picked yungoose over some of the other early route mammals because a] tropical and b] i fully believe that bonnie bites people.

unovian darumaka: potentially a gift from the party, more specifically odile who was curious of darmanitan's zen form. it's obviously not a darmanitan yet but it is very useful for lighting fires to cook with.

kantonian farfetch'd: it's basically THE food pokemon being a duck carrying a leek and i opted for the kantonian form over the galarian form since the galarian form is far too cool, bonnie is cringe [/pos]

smolive: cooking oil is a crutial part of cooking are you insane and olive oil is some of them best! very useful pokemon to have on hand and it's slightly more emotionally and nervous natural creates and almost parrallel to bonnie where both end in the same outcome of tears since both are young and not yet capable of fully handling their emotions.

LOOP

gimmighoul: somehow the only pokemon they kept when they gave up on the loops, unsure if it actually remembers the loops or is just a clone...

natu [multiple]: loop can't actually catch any pokemon since, no pokeballs and they'd lose it at the end of the loop. so they've been slowly learning how to befriend all the local natu in dormont, secretly on the hunt for the roundest one. they've found shinies before and would usually be more snappy and blunt after all of those loops due to loosing them. they've gotten good at befriending them all too, being able to tell them apart and what they like. they would never admit any of this though.

What pokemon are really popular in the fashion industry?

(Asking for friend because she's a fashion lover).

Lol, I have a fashion lover friend too. A lot of the stuff I learned from her, actually.

The fashion industry is greatly tied to the performance industry, so a lot of the pokemon here will reflect that. Pokemon like Gothitelle, Tsareena, Froslass, Ribombee, and Florges are often symbols of the industry.

Other pokemon are Lopunny, Wooloo, Mincinno, Thievul, Mareep, Leavanny, Whimsicott, and Spidops are all popular when it comes to making clothes. The first 3 (and Whimsicott'a) fur and wool are good materials, and it grows back quickly (though I have mixed opinions on Minccino because they pride themselves on their fur and it can be embarrassing for then when they're shave down but whatever). Leavanny and Spidops have silk that is used for sewing.

There are a lot of pokemon popular in the pokenon performance industry. But, the most common ones that I've seen are Meowstic, Altaria, Braixen, Togekiss, Lopunny, Meowscarada, Brionne, Primarina, Kirlia, Sylveon, Masquerain, are all popular.

The Batfam’s Pokémon Teams

Considering that I’ve already done the Justice League’s Pokémon teams and their enemies’ Pokémon teams, I thought to might as well give the batfam their teams. But since I already did Batman on the Justice League list, he will not be on the list.

Alfred Pennyworth

Indeedee (Male)- Alfred is most famously known as Batman's Butler, so giving him a butler pokemon would be both useful and helpful.

Leavanny- His day-to-day duties as the butler of Batman, Alfred is always repairing some type of clothing for the Batfam.

Drampa- It is commonly joked around in the community that Alfred is the one person in the batfam you do no want to mess around with. Drampa are known for their kind nature that comes with a destructive outcome if enraged or needing to protect the children it cares for which reflects Alfred a great deal.

Blissey- Another representative of Alfred's caring side.

Polteagheist- He's british and likes tea.

Inteleon- Alfred has a history in the military and being one of the few batfamily members to actually utilize a gun. Him having an Inteleon seemed like a No-Brainer to me.

Many of Alfred's pokemon were chosen simply because they could be found in Galar, which is the Pokemon equivalent of England. The exception of course being Leavanny, but it is still a fitting pokemon for him to have.

Nightwing

Hitmontop- This is a reference to Dick's beginnings as an acrobat in Haley's Circus. I can see this pokemon being one of Dick's first as he was given it when it was still a tyrogue.

Marowak- Both a nod to the fact that Dick is an orphan and how he covered for Batman.

Swellow- Visually speaking, Swellow slightly resembles Nightwing, especially if we're talking about his DCAU adaptation with the Mullet/Long Hair.

Rockruff- Yes, Haley is a shiny Rockruff with one leg.

Cyclizar- This was the last pokemon I had to come up with, and so my brain suddenly reminded me of Motor Cycle Monday from Teen Titans Go. Considering that Nightwing does use a motorcycle sometimes, this makes sense for him.

Greninja- A stealthy pokemon that relates to espionage in some way. Seems fitting for Nightwing during his time with Spyral during the New 52

I wanted to pay homage to everything well-known about Dick Grayson/Nightwing. With the exception of his bubble butt, his team references his time Haley's Circus, the fact he's an orphan and became batman, being Nightwing in General, and others.

Oracle/Batgirl

Swoobat- Considering her history of being used as just a love interest and not being regarded as an actual character, Barbara having a Swoobat felt like a decent choice.

Rotom- As Oracle, Barbara can hack and mess with enemy technology like how Rotom can infiltrate different machines.

Gardevoir- The reason I gave Barbara a gardevoir is sort of an edgy reason. Gardevoir's whole thing is that they are fiercely loyal to their trainers and will protect them at all cost. Now, what happened in the Killing Joke still happens in this universe, so that means that Bab's Gardevoir couldn't protect Babs. This would lead her Gardevour to become very depressed but overall determined to help her trainer more.

Mienshao- Barbara knows martial arts

Magnezone- Barbara is one of the most well-known (Idk if she was the first) person in the chair. So, her having a pokemon that can receive signals seems useful.

Venusaur- If you saw my Legion of Doom post, then you can recall that I gave Joker Toxicroak because of his adaptation in The Batman tv series. My choice in giving Babs a Venusaur is based on her relationship with Poison Ivy in that series. Not saying thats exactly the case in my HC universe however.

While some of the choices felt off even for me, overall I'm satisfied with what I did for Batgirl's pokemon team.

Red Hood

Old Team

Primeape- Many who think of Jason as Robin remember him as being angry and very impulsive, and while that isn't entirely true, this pokemon does reflect that side of him.

Fletchinder- The evolved form of the robin pokemon to represent Jason's intimidating side.

Snicket- Jason's Post-Crisis reintroduction showed him as a car tire thief of crime alley.

Cubone- A nod to how Jason was initially just a clone of Dick Grayson (in terms of character, not a literal genetic clone) and how it was his desire for his mother's love that got him killed.

Zorua- Although reflective of Jason's older-self, Zorua's tricky nature of disguising itself to hide from others is a good way to show what Jason would end up like.

Snubbul- Another representative of Jason's personality, many see him as a tough guy, but really he's just a sweet guy with attachment issues.

New Team

Annihilape- After the accident, Jason's Primeape would evolve into Annihilape. Annihilape reflects how the lazarus pit drove Jason mad upon his own revival.

Staraptor- An edgy bird pokemon that likes to be alone it does reflect Jason's isolating tendencies whenever he gets into fights with bruce.

Alolan Marowak- Since Batman and Nightwing both have Marowak, Jason holding having his Marowak post-accident is reflective of this. While his "Alolan" Marowak only became this way due to the Lazarus Pit, it still has the reasons for becoming one. Jason also possesses spiritual abilities thanks to his resurrection, and Alolan Marowak reflects that the best.

Hiusian Zoroark- According to the lore, Zoroark came back to life out of spite. While Jason had no choice in the matter, first being resurrected by one of Superboy Prime's reality-altering punches and then having his memories return thanks to the lazarus pit, if Jason could come back to life out of spite, he would.

Doublade- A reference to the All-Blades, Jason's Doublade is a meta-pokemon that has a new move Blight Slash and a new ability called All-Good. Blight Slash is a physical steel-type move that does super effective damage on dark type pokemon. All-Good resists the effects of any dark type move.

Hydreigon- For a while before the New 52, Jason was considered a complete villain against the batfam. Hydreigon's brutish nature is meant to reflect that.

The reason why I gave Jason two teams is because the explosion that killed him would also kill some of his pokemon.

Red Robin/Robin/Drake/whatever Tim goes by now

Talonflame- Talonflame is the most visually similar to Tim's uniform as Red Robin (I'm refering to the times he uses the Black and Red costumes of course)

Farfetch'd- A reference to the time he went by the Drake

Vikavolt- Tim is often regarding as the tech wizard Robin out of the five that have taken the title. This is also a reference to how Tim "died" by a bunch of drones firing at him.

Pancham- Given that Tim has many alternate versions of himself that are evil, Pancham reflects that given that it evolves into a dark type that needs the help of another dark type to evolve.

Komala- Tim is often given this headcanon that he is constantly sleep deprived and needs coffee. And while there is no coffee pokemon, there is a pokemon that is constantly tired.

Reuniclus- The time when Tim tried to clone Superboy to bring him back.

I will admit, I struggled with Tim's team. I wanted to give him a pokemon that represented his bisexuality, but none really fit.

Spoiler/Batgirl

Clodsire- You're going to look at me and tell me that Spoiler wouldn't own a Clodsire? It has her color scheme and everything (most of her color scheme anyways)

Swoobat- Steph was first introduced as a possible love interest for Tim Drake. She

Talonflame- A reference to her time as Robin.

Pikachu- This feels like a pokemon Steph would have

Espeon- Spoiler's whole gimmick is that she investigates a villain's scheme and then spoils it to the public. Espeon's ability to predict enemy attacks helps reflect this. Also gives her a counterpart to her bff, Cassandra Cain aka Orphan/Batgirl

Goodra- Goodras are silly and affectionate, and Steph is often portrayed so as well.

Most of these pokemon were easy to come up with.

Orphan/Batgirl

Banette- Banette is the most visually similar to Cassandra's costume

Noivern- Given that Noivern is the best looking Bat pokemon (fight me), it would be dumb not to give it to the best-looking batfam member

Sneasler- Given her ninja skills, Sneasler feels like a fitting option. And if you feel that isn't a good idea since Sneasler are probably extinct in the pokemon world, how do you know they're not in the shadows?

Umbreon- a representation of both Cassandra's nightly activities as well as her character arc.

Kommo-o- A representation of her time with the league of shadows.

Most of Cassandra's pokemon are reflections of herself like the other pokemon teams.

Robin (Damian)

Alolan Meowth- A reference to Alfred the Cat, Alolan Meowth was specifically chosen because of its...demanding nature and how it takes a close bond to make it stronger (or evolve it)

Noivern- A reference to Goliath, Damian's Noivern is a meta-pokemon with red fur and scales along with an extra set of wingless arms. It has the ability "Brutal Beast" which causes moves like Outrage to do 1.5x more damage.

Miltank- A reference to batcow.

Pawniard- Being that he was raised in the league of assassins, Damian would of course own a pokemon connected to

Fletchinder- He's Robin, of course he has a Robin Pokemon.

Lucario- A reference to Titus and how Damian grew close to him.

Damian's pokemon team was pretty simple given that he has his own collection of animals from his adventures of being Robin.

Batwoman

Gliscor- While a member of the bat family, Batwoman doesn't tend to follow the rules such as no-killing and no-guns. Yes I know Jason doesn't follow this rule either but still.

Bisharp- Given her military background, a Bisharp would reflect this. It would also hold an Eviolite.

Sawk- Batwoman has lots of martial artist training

I gave Kate a smaller team as she would rely on her guns more often. Also because I struggled to come up with anything else.

Catwoman

Meowscarada- While she is no magician, Catwoman is however quite elusive. Her having a Meowscarada as both her partner and starter pokemon felt fitting.

Persian- Selina Kyle in some continuities is the daughter of Carmine Falcone "The Roman". Persian is often seen by the side of the evil Giovanni, so the addition of this pokemon to Catwoman's roster felt fitting.

Sableye- Sableye reflects Catwoman's constant thievery of jewelry and such.

Lopunny- one of Catwoman's abilities is her athletic skill and she is often sexualized, so Lopunny is fitting for her.

Initially, I was going to give Selina a bunch of cat pokemon but then I felt that was too simple. She is more than just a Cat burglar after all.

Midday Form Lycanroc- This pokemon was chosen because it prowls during the day just like Duke does.

Kilowattrel- Matches his color scheme

Gallade- One of Signal's power's is to see a little bit into the future by refracting light.

Same problem I had with Batwoman, couldn't come up with much.

Batman (Terry McGinnis)

Crobat- This one is obvious, but its because he's da Batman! (Or in this universe, he's Zubatman)

Toxtricity- This is why

Scrafty- Because of Terry's messy life, he picked pokemon that sort of reflect that attitude.

Gothamite Revavroom- In Neo Gotham City, a new species of Revavroom started to appear because of all the advanced technology. Now Steel/Electric, Neo Gotham City Revavroom races through the place as it hunts prey. It has the ability Surge Surfer to help boosts its already high speed so that foes can never gain the advantage. This choice was of course because of the flying batmobile Terry has.

Marowak- Terry lost his dad in the first episode.

Incineroar- Terry has to fight through a level of imposter syndrome in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Incineroar reflects this through not being a fighting type but also having fighting type elements.

Nightmares x team skull bc the thought wouldn't leave my head

Each character comes with a trainer encounter sprite and a losing sprite + 3 pokemon each bc I'm too lazy to give them full teams

These come from me wanting to make a Deuz x Guzma bc i thought it would be cool (+ the whole fnafhs pokemon that I wanted to do for a while) and then I decided to make the other 3 bc yeah.

Maggie and Onnie are the male and female basic grunts and Oxy is Plumeria bc it was the one character left (and I think it was better to have the female grunt AND Plumeria than two male grunts. Idk)

Pokemon explanation (bc it was the part that took the most time x.x)

Each one of them uses a specific Pokemon type, and also they all use poison type as a token of them being a team.

Deuz (bug type bc Guzma is bug type):

Scolipede: the poison token. Also it gives that strong and intimidating aura to Deuz, probs his first pokemon to battle with.

Scizor: also bug type. Idk.

Leavanny: this one is inspired by my own head cannons where Deuz has an interest in fashion design. (This pkmn makes clothes with leaves) Also, the pokemon only evolves into this stage when it has high friendship. This one would be Deuz's partner.

Oxy (dark type bc yeah):

Toxtricity (low key form): token poison type. Matching with Onnie

Scrafty: mainly the aesthetics of the pkmn but also the fact that these pkmn are aggressive to strangers but really protective of the ones they care about

Obstagoon: looks cool as fuck. Probs Oxy's ace

Maggie (fighting type bc there's one frame of her training box or whatever and I'm holding onto that for her entire personality):

Toxicroak: token poison type (bonus bc it's fighting/poison)

Stufful: it's CUTE. also she probs gave it an eternal stone bc she doesn't want it to evolve.

Lucario: it's one of those cool pkmn that show off how good of a trainer you are so ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯. This one would be her ace.

Onnie (electric and poison type bc i struggled to give him one specifically):

Toxtricity (amped form): token poison type and matching with Oxy. This would probably be his ace.

Blitzle: I like the electric zebra what can I say.

Varoom: also related to one of my head cannons, where Onnie has an interest in cars (and car repairs and mods and all that). Caught it bc he wants to make something similar to them starmobiles from SaV.

Species: Ogerpon

About: A lonely girl who was very anxious about meeting others. Upon meeting her, Statilia (Leavanny) made it his mission to adopt her as his daughter and give her a happy life. He and his friends banded together to defeat the gang of villains that was tormenting her. She loves spending time with her newfound family and occasionally plays pranks on them. She likes candy apples.

Other outfits based on the other masks. She gets a lot of clothes bc Statilia is a designer.

I decided to make her masks into purses because her face is so cute I don't want to cover it up. She would still have the masks somewhere though.

Statilia, Shimmer (Gardevoir), Gleam (Gallade), and Quilly (Typhlosion) protecting Kohana from the Loyal Three Gang.

Would a Sewaddle be a good pet?

A sewaddle would indeed make a good pet! They’re delightful!

Like many bug pokémon, sewaddles are tiny and easy to care for. You’d have no issue with space when it comes to these little guys, and while the pokédex doesn’t give much detail about wild sewaddle’s habitats, it seems that it would be easy to meet their needs even in an indoor space.

The main thing that you would need to make sure your sewaddle has access to is fresh leaves, and lots of them. It’s unclear in the Pokédex, but if I had to guess I’d assume that sewaddles’ diets are mostly made up of leaves. That’s not all, of course: there’s a reason sewaddles have become popular mascots for fashion designers (Black 2/White 2)! They love to make themselves clothes out of leaves (White)! Sewaddles “[chew] up leaves and [sew] them with sticky thread extruded from [their] mouths”, making themselves little outfits with ease (White). There isn’t much indication of the purpose of these outfits, but we do know that they like to hide their heads inside their hoods when they sleep (Black). As long as you make sure your sewaddle has access to the materials it needs, it should be pretty easy to keep them happy. You may even be able to make them outfits yourself: leavannies are known to make clothes for their sewaddles when they hatch (Black).

Looking at their move pool, it’s clear that sewaddles are essentially harmless. Not that there’s too much to worry about anyway, as they are not a very aggressive pokémon and would likely only attack in self defense, if they don’t think hiding in their hood would suffice!

Overall, sewaddles are a great option for anyone looking for an easy-to-care for, small, and adorable little friend!

It's been 3 years since the Masters 8 Tournament where I became the new Monarch of the World Coronation Series. But for each of the three tournaments we held every year, I never got the chance to battle against my Dragon Master friend. No matter how the bracket turned up, Iris always ended up facing Cynthia and losing to her. Evry time I watched Iris struggle against Cynthia, some unfamiliar Aura arose in me when I saw Iris's tears the first time we were in the Masters 8 Tournament together. I'll never forget how sad she was, how heartbroken I felt, and how guilty I was for not hugging her but instead just standing in front of her next to Goh with some lame smile on my face. Why did I just stand there? I should've hugged her! "I think it's time for me to tell her how I felt that day!" I say to Pikachu on my shoulder and Lucario standing by my side. Both of my Ace Pokémon looked at each other with a determined smile on both of their faces. "Alright, time to telk her everything," I said as we rushed to the airport.

Iris's POV

I've faced Cynthia in the Masters 8 Tournament 4 times and I've never beaten her! But last year was the worse, as I only knocked out 2 of her 6 Pokémon, while she demolished all 6 of mine! She wasn't even on the brink of losing and yet she still Mega Evolved her Garchomp and destroyed me with a Draco Meteor! And to make it worse, after the battle, she didn't thank me for a great battle, but she mocked me for my performance! Never in my life had those words from the one Champion I looked up to the most stabbed at my heart worse than any other time in my life! Every day after that, I barely trained or ate, and spent most of my time sitting on the radio tower of Opelucid City. But today, I felt something. "What am I feeling? I haven't been hungry for awhile, and now I'm hungry?!" Emolga than looks at me with a smug smile. "What's with the smile?" I asked, very concerned. My phone then starts ringing, and I immediately pick it up. It was Drayden, Opelucid City gym leader and Opelucid Academy president. "Yeah, Drayden?" "You have a guest waiting for you at the gym," I hear the gruff voice of my mentor saying. "Really?" I ask. "Well, I better hurry then! Thanks, Drayden!" I hang up, and I dart down the tower without Officer Jenny seeing me.

Ash's POV

As I arrived in the Opelucid City, I could feel a miserable Aura all over the entire city. Everyone was completely bummed out about watching their Unova Champion getting demolished by Cynthia. I couldn't help but feel sorry for everyone. I too felt that Aura when I watched that tragedy happen right before my very eyes. As I quickly and quietly walked past the folks of the city, I made my way to the Opelucid City gym. A small smile immediately spread across my face, as so many heartwarming thoughts began to race in my mind. This same gym was the one I ran into, eager to see my childish Unovan friend, only to learn that she was the new Champion of Unova. This same gym was the one where I battled her, and learned that the little Axew she had that Pikachu and I traveled with was now a fully-evolved-and-fully-powered Haxorus. Thinking all these feelings made my heart race and my cheeks feel warm, as they were turning bright red from blushing. Lucario could see it, and he knew what it was about. Once last time, I darted into the gym with glee, but this time, all I saw was a group of Pokémon training with each other. Among the crowd I noticed one Pokémon that looked very similar. "Leavanny!?" I shout with a shocked look on my face. The fighting stopped, and the one Bug Pokémon that was good at making clothes with String Shot and leaves looks at me with a confused look on its face. I had a Leavanny back at Professor Oak's lab, and I was a little baffled why I though it was here. But before I asked any more questions, I hearda voice that gave me the truth. "This Leavanny actually belongs to Iris," I hear a gruff voice saying. "I get you may be confused, since you have one, too." Eventually, I found the owner of the gruff voice I heard. Drayden, the Opelucid City gym leader appeared from behind Iris's Dragonite, holding his own little Axew on his arms. "Iris caught a Leavanny?" I say, surprised. "Cool!" "Actually, she raised it from a Sewaddle all the way to a Leavanny," Drayden said. "She told me she wanted to learn from you and try out different ways to win." Hearing that made me blush. "BTW, where is Iris?" I ask. "I'm not sure," Drayden said. "I saw her at breakfast, but then she just disappeared." Hearing that, I realized what was going on. "I'll call her," Drayden said, pulling out his magenta Rotom phone. "Yea, thanks," I say with a sad look on my face, while hanging my head down.

Well, I need to cram this into multiple parts, actually. But don't worry; I'm posting this whole story today!

I would like to heavily beg for your thoughts on the Leavanny line please. My poor grass bugs haven't been on the Switch at all yet, they are stuck eternally in Pokemon Home. I am crying. Justice for my fashion designer icons in the DLC.

A few people in the past have asked me what my favorite bug-type Pokemon line is, and my answer is always the same: these guys, 100%, for reasons I'll be getting into throughout this review.

Sewaddle is somewhat ironic in the sense that leaf bugs don't have a metamorphis stage, let alone start off looking like caterpillars—but Pokemon are interesting monsters first and biological creatures second, so I am more than happy to give this cute little thing a pass.

Visually, the leaf wrap forming a swaddling blanket is both a clever way to integrate leaves into the design and a nice way to add something unique, given that we've already had tons of caterpillar Pokemon already. It also gives Sewaddle's design a nice bit of practicality, as it can do this while it sleeps:

The colors are nice—just a simple yellow, orange, and green—and I love the stylized but still very bug-like eyes and mouth. I don't think the random balls on the head were needed (I guess they're meant to tie into the leaves on Swadloon's head?) and the underbelly probably didn't need to be included either, but those are minor nitpicks in an otherwise solid design.

I unironically think that Swadloon is The Best middle evolution stage of any Pokemon, period. Look at this delightfully grumpy teenager. How could you not love them?

With the entire line having a leaf clothing motif, giving Swadloon a leaf blanket is both something it can have that makes it unique, yet something that still ties back into the rest of the design. Even better, making it a grumpy little cocoon gives it a great personality and a different shape than the rest of the line. Everything just comes together here to form a perfect concept and a perfect transitional middle stage.

By the time we finally get to Leavanny, it becomes obvious what this line actually is: a "walking leaf", aka a leaf bug/insect:

Taking the basic concept of a bug that looks like a leaf and making it into a motherly Pokemon that sews clothes for itself and other Pokemon is a charming concept, and I really like the overall look of Leavanny here.

The yellow and green palette works great, the leaf shape is repeated throughout (such as the antennae), and the little .v. face is really charming. It's suitably insect-like (with the far apart eyes and simple mouth), but humanoid enough that it doesn't come across as too alien. It comes across as wearing clothes, but not the point where it seems too implausible or silly. Just a fantastic little bug all around

As a whole, this line is basically perfect in my book. The leaf clothing theme is established immediately and permeated in different ways through the line, yet each member of the line is allowed their own unique spin on it. Each stage has personality and stands out on its own while also working as one part of a whole, and the designs are simple and charming. These bugs absolutely need to make it onto the Switch ASAP.

Baldur's Gate 3 Characters' Pokémon Team (Part 1)

—Astarion, the Pale Elf—

Hello everyone, I had this idea for a while and decided to put it into practice. I will talk about my ideas for a Pokémon team, analyzing the characters' profiles, thinking about their narrative and gameplay functions within the Baldur's Gate universe to find the best pocket monsters for them.

The only rules are: 1 Starter, 4 common Pokémon and 1 Legendary or Mythical. The team also needs a Gigantamax or a Mega Evolution.

Today's character who will win a Pokémon team will be Astarion, the Pale Elf.

Let's start with your Starter, the one that the coach starts by forming a strong bond. They are small, friendly creatures that are easy to train, and they are also rare.

And your Starter could not be other than the Paldea Grass Starter, Sprigatito.

Sprigatito is an extremely friendly cat. And cat suits Astarion! They are fast, cunning beings, perfect for a rogue. But it's not just because this little one is a cat! They evolution, Meowcarada, is perfect for Astarion.

Meowcarada are Pokémon with a bold attitude, they like to appear to distract opponents while they perform a trick or cheat. Yes, this cat is the spirit of the liar! All theatrical to distract from the truth!

And its typing matches Astarion a lot, the second type being Dark, which gives the feeling of evil that surrounds a vampire.

The second Pokémon I thought of is Noviern, the evolution of Noibat.

This huge Dragon/Normal Pokémon brings all the vampiric energy of Astarion. Being a huge, powerful bat, fast and with a resistant type.

Furthermore, it is a Pokémon that I see Astarion using to impose his strength. While Meowcarada is his more deceitful side, Noviern is his more fighting side.

Astarion's third Pokémon would be a Weavile, a Dark/Ice type Pokémon!

Weavile are even more cunning and dangerous than Meowcarada, as they behave much more perversely. They are cats specialized in attacking from behind, hiding, they are fast and lethal. If Meowcarada had the personality, Weavile has the way of acting like a rogue.

Furthermore, they are Pokémon with a strong personality, hardly giving up on their goals, just as Astarion never gave up on his.

Astarion's next Pokémon represents his hatred, everything he accumulated in the years he was a slave to Cazador. This is Hisuian Zoroark, Astarion's fourth Pokémon.

This ancient form of Zoroark is not a Dark type, but Normal/Ghost. This Pokémon is practically a spirit, full of hatred for humans and aggressive behavior.

He even has the ability to change shape, disguising himself to deceive. However, this Pokémon has a less cunning behavior in general, and is more direct.

White skin with red, with a hunchbacked expression and posture. Sometimes, we just want to avenge those bad feelings we felt, and Astation knows very well what that is.

(Bonus: a friend of mine told me that this Zoroark reminds me of Astarion when he does the Ascension ritual! And well, it really seems!)

Astation's fifth and last common pokemon is unusual. But I think he manages to convey his less aggressive side well. This pokemon is Leavanny.

Leavanny may seem like a strange choice on this team, but it makes perfect sense! They are gentle Grass/Bug Pokemon who love to sew. That's right, sewing and weaving clothes, mending them.

I can see Astarion using this pokemon to help sew his beloved white t-shirt! Not to mention that he is someone who understands fashion and could give their opinion on it. Furthermore, they are gentle Pokémon, who make clothes to keep other Pokémon warm. They are attentive, calm and affectionate.

Not to mention, look at their claws! They're like two blades, these Pokemon are great for cutting and fighting too! In the end, Leavanny rounds out this team very well.

And lastly, we have the team's legend. One that even represents Astarion, Mewtwo, a powerful Psychic Pokemon.

See, Mewtwo was once a slave, trapped by his creators, forced to follow their orders. Totally lost, without anyone, alone... Deep down, Mewtwo wanted to be understood, and perhaps our Pale Elf understands they on several points.

Mewtwo would be your Mega Pokémon. And to top it off, he has two megas!

Mega Y is purely a Psychic type, much more mentally powerful and with an air of superiority. They is a Mewtwo above, ascended. It conveys well the absolute concentration of power in a single being.

And the Ascended Astarion would love to have you by his side. The best for the best.

Mega X has a secondary type, Fighting, and is much more humanoid. It's Mewtwo who has connected to their human side, who understands their strength. They doesn't need incredible psychic powers or superiority, he just needs to connect to his hidden side.

Spawn Astarion would choose them, as he sees the strength that change brings. This Mewtwo may look different from the original, but it's they, just with a different vision. Another force.

And now, we have the conclusion, where based on what was analyzed, I say that Astarion's favorite type is:

Dark type!

The Dark type is linked to Pokémon with the characteristic of "Doing evil", they are not always evil, but they do evil. They can be silly actions or really cruel actions, it all depends on the Pokémon.

This would be his favorite type, but as we saw, it's not the only one he would leave on his team. Let's be honest, Astarion would love Dark-type pocket monsters, with their greedy and cunning behaviors and incredible powers.

Are you able to update the Pokemon Au list thing?

Pokemon Au: Does Coco have a Leavanny or any of its line? Leavanny loves to make clothes. Would Ren have a Poltchageist? Are their any Paradox Pokemon in Renment?

I have updated the list, but I need to figure out how the heck everything fits together. Not everything fits in neatly. Might have to do a whole other page for non-story snips, like Penny and Rotom or the Milo One Piece bit. I'll also need to get the list updated to include their Pokémon.

"And... done~!" Coco twirled her seat around to show off her beanie. "How's it look, Letty?"

The Leavanny looked over the stitch with their head tilting this way and that before nodding. Coco smirked at her victory, though it was short-lived when the Pokémon waved their bladed leaf arm. "Lea lea..."

"What? What do you mean it's 'so-so'?!" The Pokemon lifted their arm to their mouth, giving a chuckle at their trainer. "Oh, you think you're being cute? Don't think that just because you're my first doesn't mean I won't take away your treats!"

Unamused, the walking bug hopped from their seat on her desk and took an empty box of treats from the trash. After slicing it into neat pieces, the trash was then sewn together into a much smaller hat. They then hopped onto the desk again and placed the box hat on Coco's head.

"Hmph... You're lucky you're cute." Coco looked in the mirror. "And so's this hat." She stood up and walked away, leaving the beanie on the desk, unaware of the smug smirk her Pokémon had watching as the words 'TREAT' bounced behind her head.

"Yes, Ren?"

"There's a Pokémon in the cupboard."

"Oh?" Ren's mother quickly walked to her son and looked into cupboard. She clicked her tongue a few times before stepping away. "It looks like a Poltchageist has snuck in." She then took her son's hand. "Come on. Let's go tell your father."

As the two walked away, Ren looked back to the cupboard where the Pokémon shook angrily from inside. The two waited outside until his father returned, but passed the time talking about what Ren found.

"How did you know that was a Pokémon?"

"I don't know." Ren replied. "It just looked like one."

His mother giggled. "Not many people can tell the difference, and it causes problems for them. You're very lucky to be so talented."

Ren smiled at his mother, before he opened his eyes to remember that he wasn't that same boy anymore. Looking to his side, he saw there was a cup of tea sitting on the table by his chair. It'd gone cold, but he'd drink it regardless. No point in wasting good tea.

"I see." Headmaster Ozpin nodded. "It's a shame about Professor Sada and Turo. My condolences to their son, Arven."

"Yes, though their passing is not without some good news." Director Clavell replied. "Thanks to the efforts of their son and our recent Champion, Paldea is safe from a far more concerning fate. In their efforts of studying the Paradox Pokémon, they had inadvertently traveled through time to another era, where they had passed away and left behind a digital copy of their AI, whose intentions were to revert all of Paldea to match the era in which their creator had perished. That is why the Paradox Pokémon are so abundant in Area Zero."

"If they are contained, we no longer need to concern ourselves with any outbreaks beyond Paldea."

"No, no." Clavell replied. "Area Zero and all the Paradox Pokémon contained within are accounted for."

"I see." A smile split from Ozpin's face. "Would you mind sharing the data on these Pokémon? I would love to teach a class about them."

Leavanny Fun Fact Incoming! It is rather well known (because it's adorable) that Leavanny make the Sewaddle and Swadloon they take care of clothing out of leaves, but that does not just apply to it's young! It has been documented that they also dress up other small pokemon of similar sizes to Sewaddle and Swadloon, such as Cottonee, Petilil and Pansages. ( @jotabug )
