it’s definitely buck’s rejection sensitive dysphoria that has him ignoring eddie’s blatant obsession with him. wdym no one wants to hang out with you? there is a man who would crawl into your skin if he could. even crazier? YOU would ALSO crawl into his skin if you could. bffr.

I don't know why Chad Charming being adopted is considered to be implausible by some. Cinderella, an orphan, choosing to adopt her firstborn to save him from a childhood like her own is the most in-character thing ever.

firm believer that will does, indeed, match nico's unhinged, strange, weird freak. he was WHIPPED for an almost-alive bloody guy wearing a tropical shirt during a war. became head counselor and medic at 13. reattaches limbs at 16. deals with gorey injuries on a daily basis. like yes babe could you please conjure a skeleton again, i need to refresh my knowledge of the bones in the human body using a very accurate model. no i dont mind if its decaying, thank you

We came to a young world. We came to a world of raw, elemental wonder. Of chaos and exultant passion. Of energy vaster, and more potent than anything we beheld in the cosmos... It doesn’t seem like it’s random or chaos. It just seemed like potential.

Armand and lestat definitely fucked and it's weird that people are saying lestat would be disgusted by the notion that they did it especially since lestat in the books talks about wanting armand biblically but not in a relationship cus he gives him da willies. Like is armand omitting stuff/spinning stuff so he looks as good as possible, especially contrasted to Lestats freaky ass? Yes! But so does louis and so will lestat (when we get to him) and daniel and literally everyone does it all the time it's called telling a story!

You know, when it comes to the whole debacle over the amount of mlm fanfic vs wlw fanfic, sometimes I'm like "maybe we are the problem. Maybe people saying g we should just create more instead of complaining have a point."
And then I come across someone saying, unironically, "men are just more interesting." Just. Outright. And it provides me a nice reminder that no, I and others like me are not the problem.

Was Elagabalus a transwoman? Maybe. Has Suetonius given us tons of examples of things that people who could be identified as transwomen did during his period? Absolutely. Which, honestly, is far more important.
Edit: Cassius Dio not Suetonius

Something something about Eddie learning Buck will be there for him off the job, even without Chris being in the equation.
Something something about that being an important realisation for him to finally make because he’s always hidden behind his son when it comes to Buck (and his love life more generally - even Shannon in reality was for Chris not himself) but he won’t be able to this time.
Something something about that realisation being the key to giving himself permission to examine his heart and feel his true feelings.

the way he avoid the question about how he feels about marc now.
craziest part of the interview besides all the crazy is how determined he is to like. take what happened OUTSIDE of his own feelings when it is VERY clearly entirely resulting from his feelings. like it would be one thing if vale was like our feud hurt me and i am upset about losing the title. instead when mig kind of tries to take it towards that direction he FULLY interrupts to be like WELL this is factual information that i am conveying to you. that marc is a cartoon little crustache twirling villain. that is what happened objectively. and to ME that is very in-line with vale's historical aversion to exposing his feelings in any situation everrrrrr, but the virulence with which he does derail the convo there tells me that in fact yes he is still very hurt and upset about his friendtwinkloverboy deciding to fuck him over (at least in his mind). like this man will admit to being the instigator in the biaggi thing because thats low stakes to him now, but when he looks at marc he STILL sees this punk who should have been his FRIEND (subordinate little legacy carrier) but was overambitious and didnt know his place. and i think that + losing a title + the soft ego hit of aging + marc's continued influence on the academy legacy of it all combine to form something that. well. still has the ability to make him wince.

Glasses in whump.
Whumpee who has them taken away/broken early into its long captivity.
Caretaker brings whumpee to get a new prescription after it is rescued, and oh the unintentional trauma triggers there.
Blood pressure cuff. Velcros on and pumps tighter and tighter with every heartbeat-
Things near its eyes, both sticks and paddles to cover them, the lights are suddenly off with a flashlight in its face.
Cold metal devices it's expected to press its face against. Smells like chemicals. Orders given on where to look. To hold still.
Whumpee takes the question of "what's the lowest line you can read?" As a test, and becomes noticeabley distressed when it 'fails'
Eyedrops. Drugs that change its ability to see. Sticky. Lashes clumping together. Hands on its face.
Then in the waiting room, either before the appointment or after while getting the prescription filled, all the glasses on the walls looking looking, staring, eyes watching. Everyone can see whumpee, whumper knows where it is.
This feeling is magnified if video or pictures of its torture were passed around or sold. Everyone can see your pain, the glasses on the walls say. Everyone can see everything you're doing wrong, all the rules you're breaking.
Choosing frames. Paralyzing decision or a gift of choice?
Does whumpee think it deserves the gift of sight?
Everything is too bright after. The new glasses make the world even blurrier as it adjusts.
But in the end, it's all worth it.

The horrifying fandom takes and theories it's generated aside, one of things I really love about Ted Lasso is the way it handles motherhood/babies/the future for its two main female characters. Like, on the one hand is Rebecca who so obviously and vocally has always wanted to be a mother, but married someone who didn't feel the same way and put her own desires aside for his, then had that fact thrown back in her face years later after he's abused and divorced her and gotten another woman pregnant.
A big part of Rebecca's arc is the constant frustration of having to accept the hand life's dealt her even when it's the opposite of everything she'd always wanted for herself. She's someone who wanted to be a wife and wanted to be mother and then finds herself in middle age as neither of those things. Then she makes the decision to pursue it on her own (which was awesome, I love that they showed her going to the fertility clinic and inquiring about whether pregnancy was a possibility for her! there's not way to become a mother!) and then she has to face her inability to get pregnant. And it sucks! but as sad as that is, it's also very...real? And the show doesn't miraculously let her have a miracle pregnancy anyway (like stupider shows would do, tbh), but instead has Rebecca come to terms with herself and her life under its new circumstances. She finds purpose outside of the things she once thought she would be and the roles her younger self assumed she would play as an adult. By the final episode, she's calling Richmond her family! She's realized what she wants most is the stay at the Club. She's come into her own. And then, yeah, there's the little ambiguous opening of Matthijs and his daughter and her possible future there with them--but importantly it isn't the end all to her happiness, anymore. It's a sign that she still has opportunities, just maybe not in the way she first envisioned, that no doors have closed forever and that what she's been looking for might come from unexpected places. there's no timeline!
And then you have Keeley, who's in her 30s and focused on her career and still figuring out how she wants that to look and who she wants to be. And yeah she's dating, and she has a serious onscreen relationship, but the topic of children (or marriage for that matter) never even once comes up! It's not made some big arc about how she doesn't want those things, and it's not some big fight with Roy or a goofy "really, you've never thought about babies?' conversation with Rebecca, it's just never something that's made relevant to her character nor her growth! She's a whole person without those things and she's clearly not actively pursuing them. And these two women with very different goals and wants are completely supportive of one another--it's never even a question :)
I thought both of their storylines in that sense were very refreshing to see on TV and like, comforting? If anything, the discourse it's spawned has been very...eye-opening...about how conditioned people have become to expect traditional marriage and babies storylines from every single female character. But the show doesn't give in to that mentality and instead shows that there's not one way a family has to look and not one way to be a mother and there isn't a set timeline for any of this stuff even if later you change your mind. And then if things don't turn out how you think, it doesn't mean you aren't going to end up with a good life! that was such a good message.
