I have been thinking about this all day. All of the Bestie Boos are mostly way too young for the following.

Team Brucas vs Team Leyton

Two best friends who fall in love with the same guy. They fight, they make up and then they both end up with who they are supposed to be with.

Team Logan vs Team Dean vs Team Jess

God was the shipping war with Gilmore Girls something that these Bestie Boos wouldn't be able to handle. Rory hurt each one of these men as well as each one of these men hurting Rory. It was bad but in the end she ended up with no one because she needed to find herself first.

Team Delena vs Team Stelena

This is one for the ages. If you were around for The Vampire Diaries you know the fights that people got into with who they thought Elena should end up with. I think she wound up with the right Brother. Even though Damon said she saw Stefan first it was Damon whom she saw first so I think she ended up with the right person.

Team Edward vs Team Jacob

I personally think Stephanie Meyer put Bella with the wrong character. Bella had so much more chemistry with Jacob than she did with Edward. But my god this fandom was very toxic (seems like 9-1-1 is going to be more toxic than this fandom)

Team Finchel vs Team Fuinn

Personally my best friend and I are at odds when it comes to a lot of TV shows but this one is the worst. We did not agree with who we thought Finn should end up with and it ended up in some very heated arguments. Personally I think Finn ended up with the right person. Quinn led him on to believe that he was the father to her child when in fact she did cheat on him.

If these Bestie Boos were around for any of that their shit would have been shut down so fast. There are a lot more but I don't want to bore you guys with my silly rambling but I need all of them to just sit back and really think, most of the demographic for the silly wee woo show are the Gen X and Millennials and boo boo we have been through it all.

Anwar Kharral (Skins UK): Anwar is the only one on this list active on TikTok. He's not an uncomfortable teen anymore - he's being cringe on main and setting trends. I bet he's got 90K followers at least! He uses Threads and Instagram to back up his TikTok, not much else.

Sonny Kapoor (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 1&2): For the benefit of the hotel, Sonny is active on Reels to promote the corporate 'brand'. He likes the chance to be creative, and the 'Board' likes the chance to show off the handsome CEO.

Neal Sampat (Newsroom): Neal is an OG Tumblr user, who joined the site as early as 2008. As demonstrated on the show, Neal is adept at using Twitter to cross-reference and fact-check various sources, I do think he'd be a prolific shitposter on a side account, rivaling our king @dril.

Deon Wilson (Chappie 2015): Deon is self-explanatory. he likes to support the indie social media sites that sprung up in the wake of the Fall of Twitter. He's a fan of SpaceHey because he went to Computer Camp with the engineer who started it (it's based out of Germany), which he's always wanted to visit!

Sheru “Saroo” Bierley (Lion 2016): I find it harder to deny with each passing day that Saroo Brierly isn't an Instagram thot. Look at @brockohurn on IG and tell me that they don't have the same respectful bro energy. I think Saroo likes the chance to use all the photos in his camera roll, and I think the MILFs of Instagram are grateful for the content.

Jay Menha (The Wedding Guest, 2019): The closest Jay gets to social media is the Polaroids he likes to stick up on the wall of your shared room. Sometimes, if he's having a bad time, he likes to sit in his beanbag and look at the wall. He only gets a ghost Facebook account to keep up with relatives- nothing ever is posted, ever.

David Copperfield (The Personal History of David Copperfield, 2020): I think David would do numbers on Medium.com because he can write self-prompted think-pieces that no one ever asked about, AND get paid for them! He's writing analyses of "Jeyton vs Brucas vs Leyton: One Tree Hill", and he's actually making money. It would be magic to him!

Joshua Madika (Modern Love, 2019): Joshua's social media is all on Tinder. He's perfected his profile, and he likes talking to people. It's all genuine and zero malice. Who wants to be alone with their thoughts?

Sir Gawain (The Green Knight, 2021): I once read a post about Edward Cullen texting that read, "just saw a snail . . . effervescent," and I think that's as close as Gawain should get to the internet. It's just like shitposting, but it's all for you.

Dr. ZZ Chatterjee (The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, 2023): ZZ keeps his drama on Facebook. He's definitely showing up in comments to defend someone's mutual friend from accusations of bias when she broke up with her tiny boyfriend because she was having neck problems*. With a doctor on her side, she didn't have to post X-rays of her neck! ZZ will be beefing!

The Kid (Monkey Man, 2024): "Ted, the movie hasn't even come out yet! How can you say The Kid is a Pinterest girlie?" It's all pretty pictures with an indefinite scroll. I also bet he's a big fan of putting things in categories (see also: skittles). We'll see who's right.

What I have so far for my fanfic rewrite(?) Of X-men evolution

jean/Scott/Ororo are going to be the first people/students at the Xavier school so they have a special bond and they are going to be very Leyton vs brucas coded (this is based on the love triangle of jean/Scott/rouge in x-men evolution and how i thought if they made storm a teen in x-men evolution it would've been more interesting in a leyton vs brucas was to have the love triangle be jean/scott/ororo instead)

Ororo has an accent medley because she moved from place to place so much in her developmental years. it's a blend of a New York accent (from her dad) a Kenyan accent (from her mom) and an Egyptian accent from the time she spent in Egypt

spike is her cousin from her father's side that she recently reconnected with because she went looking for any living relatives left so she could build a connection and see what her father was like because she barely remembers him now. her New York relatives didnt know that she was alive. it's a major plot point of the season that she's trying to find living relatives and learn more about African American culture and history.

pulling from the comics that ororo is a hot girl and all the boys want her and all the girl want to be like her

ororo is going to go from teen with teen attitudes kinda party girl to the ororo we all know and love i need to make her s little ooc so that the character development is worth is worth it

I like the idea of Bloodstorm so Ororo getting kidnapped and experimented on to see if a mutant can take and develop other mutant's abilities I would think scientists would do this to see if they could give humans powers to arm themselves against mutants but they are using mutants as guinea pigs because they don't see them as human and this would be after the gambit storyline where she loses her powers so it would be like gene therapy and she comes out with her old powers and some new powers

I may pull from that one comic where ororo almost became pure energy. So she may just shed her mortal body and become pure energy become something greater than human.

Analyzing Leyton in Season 1 (this is a rant, btw)

First of all, I’d just like to point out that I love Peyton, and Lucas was my favorite male character for the first three seasons. That being said, I hate Leyton and this post is not dedicated to their shippers (feel free to read it if you want, I don’t mean to disrespect anyone, I just think you’re not gonna like it lol). Also I do like Brucas but I’m not standing on the ‘they should’ve been endgame’ team, I could’ve easily accepted them not being together anymore (specially because I fully respect Sophia’s position to not wanna do those kinds of scenes with Chad anymore) - if the writers hadn’t done such a terrible job telling us ‘Leyton’ was the Real Thing.

On this post, I’ll discuss Leyton’s construction during the first season of One Tree Hill and I intend to do future posts with the other seasons as well. If you want to check out the next ones, follow the ‘anti leyton analysis’ tag (or just follow me lol I promise you I’m very nice).

Season 1

Okay so, for starters, I’ll just point out that I wasn’t actively anti-Leyton at the beginning of the show, I just didn’t mind them. They did have some cute moments together and I could understand their dynamic, it was belieavable.

I also specifically enjoy their bickering, like how when Lucas flirts with Peyton and she cuts him off by being mean (which is sort of her way of flirting back) and the opposite happens as well.

The reason why I didn’t really care for them is because I never saw anything really meaningful happening there. Their interest is nothing more than platonic. Lucas likes the idea of Peyton since he never even talked to her before; Peyton on the other hand is getting out of an abusive relationship and is just kind of intrigued by this guy who seems very different than her current boyfriend, who also happens to be Lucas’ brother (and rival). Their angst only exists because of that specific circumstance.

When there is finally nothing standing in their way and they can just be together, without the teasing, this happens:

Peyton has a change of heart only after Lucas is dating Brooke, which obviously hightens her feelings because now it’s forbidden again. To me, personally, that is not a sign of love or romanticism. That is a sign of having your ego hurt - and I don’t mean to shame Peyton, I’m only pointing out the most common human behavior ever. Feeling a little something for someone and having it a million times stronger after you can’t have them is something we’ve all been through and it doesn’t necessarily prove we have a deep connection to that person. So of course there is tension when they talk, in the first episodes she’s with Nathan and later they’re cheating on Brooke. Leyton’s angst is always a result of someone else standing in their way and never of the pure intensity of their feelings.

Even so, in theory, Leyton still seems better than Brucas. I mean, if you only heard the story, you would definitely not be a Brucas shipper because Lucas’ feelings for her apparently do not compare to what he feels for Peyton (even if it’s based on his own idealized perception of her and not on who she actually is, since they barely know each other but whatever). As a matter of fact, he gets together with Brooke right after Peyton dumps him, and that’s not exactly the best place to start off with someone.

The thing is, and that is why I already leaned towards Brucas, they have way better chemistry.

Leyton just always seems off-sync to me. For example, in 1x07, this is Peyton inviting Lucas to Nathan’s party. It’s supposedly a flirty moment and yet their faces:

tbh I genuinely thought Peyton had way more chemistry with Haley (and with a lot of female characters for that matter, I didn’t get my hopes up because this show is really straight but Peyton had a very strong gay vibe):

While this is Brooke and Lucas interacting later on that same episode. Brooke is actively hitting on him and he is trying to reject her to go talk to Peyton (but ARE YOU REALLY, Lucas? I mean...

Anyway. 

Now to the kisses. Lucas and Peyton’s first kiss is just very, very uncomfortable, both narratively (she only kisses him in order to piss off Brooke, which is pretty lame) and visually (just LOOK AT THAT). 

I can actually feel a little pain watching this because she pushed his head with such rudeness and it doesn’t even seem like he’s enjoying it, it’s not like ‘wait what- wooooww, I like this’, looks like he’s trying to get away from that, he even pushes his arms back.

But okay, maybe that’s not the best example. Let’s get a moment where there was reciprocity.

I mean it’s fine. 

As opposed to when Lucas and Brooke kiss:

At their first kiss they are so consumed by each other’s eyes we feel like they’ll start ripping off their clothes right there. And then at the pool kiss, they both just look genuinely happy and that is another point that distinguishes Leyton and Brucas so much for me: Brucas just seems very lighter and easy-going, they always look like they’re having a good time together. We also got to see them be a couple and spend quality time together and just enjoy each other’s company.

While Leyton for me was rooted in guilt, tension and awkwardness, we barely never see them just hanging out or having cute moments.

And finally, another point that I will explore better in my seasons 2 and 3 analysis, how could anyone care about Leyton when we had THIS:

Even though the show didn’t focus on Jeyton that much I really like the fact that they’re a slowburn and that their relationship was just rooted in how much they liked being together. Peyton babysitted Jenny just because she wanted to and Jake found comfort in her while he was struggling with being a teenage single parent and later with Nikki trying to steal his daughter from him. Here we have better angsty because it’s not that the characters are playing games and refusing to be together out of pride, it’s not that another love interest gets in the way, and to me it doesn’t feel like it’s about their ego, they simply get more and more attached to each other and enjoy the time they spend together and actually start off as friends which I think is really beautiful.

This is what I have to say about Season 1. Even though I already didn’t ship Leyton at that point (and thought both Jeyton and Brucas had better potential), I could still see that it made sense for the show to place them together on Season 2 and it wouldn’t bother me that much. But then... (Wait for my season 2 analysis)

this post is going to be a mess so skip it if you want but i’ve been thinking about oth and something i noticed when it comes to leyton is that peyton loved lucas way more than he loved her. like it’s so obvious now that i think about it. i’m not saying that lucas didn’t love her at all, because he did, but she just seemed like she was more into him even after they finally started dating. idk if it was the writing or the fact that chad and sophia were married, but i feel like he loved brooke more than he ever loved peyton. years later when they were engaged and even when they were married, i never truly got the sense that he was madly in love with her like i did when he was dating brooke the second time around. now i’m not a brucas shipper so this isn’t me just trying to cling onto a sunken ship, it’s just something that i picked up on and wanted to share. i also noticed a parallel between brucas and leyton. in season 1, brooke was really into lucas, while he didn’t really care because all he wanted was peyton but she was indifferent towards him for the most part. but later, it’s the other way around and peyton is in love with lucas, while he’s indifferent towards her cause he’s all about brooke. anyways it’s something that i thought was interesting, and i wonder if the writers did that intentionally, or if it’s just me who noticed 🤷🏼‍♀️

whether you ship brucas/jeyton or leyton/brulian there's one thing that everyone can agree on - naley were the epitome of what real love is. They are literally true love and soulmates and if anyone thinks different their not watching the same show!!! I ship all four ships I listed but naley is what love looks like, it's the kind of love I have with my husband!!

this isn���t really an anti brooke post because in general i really do love her so much. but the way a lot of her biased fans overlook and even justify the way she treated peyton for most of season 4 is just deplorable. apparently we live in a world where kissing your best friend’s boyfriend makes you the devil, but using your best friend’s pain as a punchline makes you a badass. i understand that brooke felt betrayed, but so did peyton when brooke made jokes about her mothers and when she found out about her sex tape with nathan. at the end of the day there are bigger things in life than boy drama, and brooke crossed the line multiple times by making fun of peyton’s worst trauma.

Brooke Davis is at fault with her heartbreak over Leyton. She clearly seen something between them, so why wouldn't she fawn over some other guy? It makes no sense. Writers just wanted drama.

Let's be honest... they broke Lucas and Brooke up because Chad cheated on Sophia and she couldn't be near him at the moment. Peyton and Lucas felt pushed because of that and the end of Lucas and Brooke didn't quite make sense how they did it.

To be fair though..... Lucas was a bad boyfriend all around. He's a great brother, friend, son, etc but boyfriend? Nah.

Brucas and Jeyton forever.

But I'm Naley all the way. They were my first otp and James was my first on screen love.
