The Sinclair Boys With A Single Parent S/O

In other words, this is my take on how they'd react to the responsibility of raising children than arent theirs and whether that affects how they saw you.

Bo Sinclair

Bo was definitely a little more wary of you because of it. He really wasn't sure about whether he was ready for all the extras that came along with that.

Dont get it twisted, he liked you a lot and he thought your Son was a good kid. He just wasn't sure if he would be able to accommodate for the emotional work it would take.

Hell, Bo was highly certain that he'd mess up your kid with his lifestyle and his own trauma.

Even now, when he's let himself be a part of you guys' lives, he's scared that he'll scare your son and mess it all up.

Bo still tries his best to connect with your son- he can't help but want to try to prove to his parents, though they're dead and gone, that he can be good for something and that he's not just a destructive hurricane of a person.

He still finds it hard to let his guard down enough to do it though. But you can see he's trying.

You can tell from the days he lets your son tag along to the garage and teaches him how to change a tyre, and how to fix a motor.

Bo teaches him how to shave his face later on and teaches him how to open his first beer.

Honestly, it warms your heart that he's come so far.

But it doesn't change the fact that he's a murderer. He knows he can't hide that, given the evidence is literally all over the whole town.

Your son was once young enough that he didn't understand, and Bo had enough time to think of a way to help the situation. He tries to cover it up to begin with. He tells him to never touch the wax people and to never go downstairs. He even tried to hide Vincent from him for a time.

Over time the murders became more and more irregular. It went from at least a car a week, then to every fortnight, and then monthly, until it seemingly stopped altogether. And on his seventh birthday, Bo introduces Vincent to him properly.

For now Bo's glad he doesn't know the truth because he's not sure if he could take the rejection after becoming so invested in the family he's created with you.

Vincent Sinclair

Vincent is in awe of the tiny baby that is swaddled in your arms the first time he sees you.

It'd been so long since he'd seen a baby- a real one- that he just stood there, watching silently in the distance.

They aren't heartless, they wouldn't kill a pair like you. At least, Vincent doesn't want to.

He never thought that you having a baby would make you any less appealing of a partner. He liked you, and a baby doesn't define you as a person.

He's much more open to the idea of raising children than Bo was, even being rather curious about it.

He likes the way your daughter giggles at him when he peeks over the rails of the crib with his mask on, tiny hands wriggling in the air attempting to touch the wax.

Vincent grows attached to her very quickly and often he'll be the one coddling and cooing at her.

He's good at looking after her- the years of caring for Lester when his parents couldn't prepared him quite well.

The largest problem he had was his mask. As your daughter grew older, she became more and more curious about the mask and what was behind it. Vincent was terrified that she'd see something that would ruin everything and she would be horrified and never look at him the same way again.

She gets older and you prepare her for what she may see, helping her to understand that Vincent's appearance won't mean that he's going to suddenly start trying to hurt her or scare her.

He makes her little wax dolls and toys. He even teaches her how to paint <3

For once, Vincent fully stands up to Bo and makes it clear that he doesn't want to continue making the wax sculptures with the methods they were. He didn't want to make it any worse because frankly the idea of her learning about what her stepfather did and then shutting him out terrified him more than any other fear.

Lester Sinclair

When Lester met you and your kids, you were in the cab of his truck, driving into Ambrose because of your torn tyre.

He'd never really felt bad for leading people to his brothers, or for laying out nails on the roads, or for scaring teenagers for the fun of it.

But for the first time, when he looked into your tired eyes, and then into the innocent faces of your twins, he felt guilty.

So he goes into Bo's shot with you, sure to make sure he gets that your party is off limits.

Lester recognises that he sees his brothers in your twins. There's a parallel between them and he's pretty good at understanding them because of it.

Despite the persona that Lester puts on, he's not some stupid bumpkin. The moment he knows there's something permanent with you he makes it clear to his brothers that he wants no more part in their dirty work anymore.

He settles down with you on the outskirts of the town and settles into fatherhood effortlessly somehow.

The kids think he's funny and he's a sweet guy when it comes to you and them.

He's the type to teach them how to hunt and takes them on fishing trips. They don't catch anything substantial and get disappointed that they can't bring you anything for you to cook dinner with but Lester's already swapping fish with them and winking, promising he won't tell you about it.

Lester cares about his brothers so of course he doesn't cut them off. Luckily, Bo isn't really all that pedantic about victims, so you're all safe. He likes you all too which helps. If Bo likes you, Vincent won't have any trouble.

Being exposed to your new family dynamic definitely changes the way Lester thinks about things and he realises that his morals have switched nearly completely and for the better he figures.

But you're not an impostor! Razor knows it! Andrius knows it! And with how the nature and the monster responded to you, Teyvat knows it too!

So like the good son he is, he sheltered you even more severely.

Ur not allowed to go out of his sights at this point (he'll still take you to places with many lampgrasses if you still wanna make a crown w it)

Diluc had been looking around the lesser patroled areas of Mondstadt to search for the Architect

He didn't even need those incompetent knights to tell him their god had finally descended

He already saw the signs long before Mondstadt

Bc youve been in Wolvendom, the area has flourished over time, more fish in the water, more game to hunt and bigger, crows making circles in the sky despite there being no corpse

And one of the closest places to you,

Is the Dawn Winery.

Diluc's security against Venti began to hold up better, the staff didn't have to clean as much things like dirt or weather damage to the manor,

His hawk had never been faster delivering his letters, he almost thought the little guy had been drugged with something

He patroled Stormterror's Lair, and deep in the woods surrounding the manor that the knights hadn't bother to go into

Afterall, he figured you'd never had a mortal form before, so u were unlikely to fend for urself for very long in the woods lol

so he wanted to find u quick (aww softy :')

He even made a trip out to the Thousand Wind Temple and Dragonspine (he did report that one to the knights, he didn't want Amber, Bennett, or Creator-forbid Klee, being the few pyro users to have to explore it)

Finally, after doing the further away locations, siginificant in history and rich with leftover magic

Diluc figured that's where you might land first, so he saved Wolvendom for last

It would at least let him check on that wolf kid and maybe get to talk to him long enough to ask him if he's seen anything unusual.

The lord of Dawn Winery manor heads into the Wolvendom woods, just as sunset colors the trees...

It was a Friday evening, the sun was setting, the weather was pleasant and it was time for all of the Lupical to come together and eat a big feast!! :)

About once a month, Andrius will come out for a few nights and dine with all of yall

Hes an old wolf give him a break, he takes long naps

So u cook lots of Mondstadt favorites to eat on and a few Liyue dishes too

Razor, ur favorite helper, has helped u finish the last dish and is now romping around with the puppies bless <3

U guys have dragged ur coffee table dining table setup out to sit and eat at

Andrius lets out a not too loud, not too quiet howl, and as the wolves, Razor and you lmao join in

It filled the air of Wolvendom like no howl before it, as he used the glowing lampgrass to help light the path deeper

Diluc sniffs the air, and squints deeper into the forest

The black branches shade the way ahead, but just barely... he can see the flicker of orange and blue light?

He summons his claymore, bracing it on his shoulder, and creeps into the treeline to better hide him

You swear to god (dammit swear to.. you??) someone is watching you.

You look around the piles of fluffy doggos, happy and stuffed full they r slowly forming puppy piles

Andrius is finishing his meat platter, also sitting on all four legs on the ground

Razor is splayed on his back beside you, eyes closed, his feet sticking out the other side of the table, u chuckle at him

But not a single Lupical seems to be looking at you.

Gulping down your last few bites, you scan the treeline

U refuse to be that bitch in a horror movie where their gut says smth is off and they brush it off or barely look at their surroundings

Turning around to the treeline behind you, u see something... red fur?

U sit up some more, peering over the bushes at the bottom of the trees

You meet a pair of warm brown eyes, widened like they're just as shocked to see you

As u notice his familiar red high ponytail (but also not?? Its weird going from 2D to 3D and still recognizing bitches)

U peer down at his chest, as he carefully stands out of the foliage-

That familiar star shaped button that u can press for the character menu screen, the same thats on Razor, on Benny, on Fischl, on Lisa-

Hovers over Diluc's chest.

Diluc is in the bush, observing the human(???) stranger (he really doesnt want to attract the attention of that.. giant spirit wolf thing)

The figure sitting at a ... table?? (He can barely process all these absurdities at once, hes only got so much brain space)

Has sensed his presence, and as he grips his claymore, ready to demand answers,

Razor startles, and jumps up, smelling the pyro user, he summons his weapon-

The figure locks eyes with him, and all he sees is gold.

Diluc drops his claymore.

Just saw a post that made me think of this:

Imagine a Mianite AU where the gods never show up.

Like, they exist. They are real. Their presence affects the series and the lives of the people just as much as it would if they were there, but they aren't. Rather than being there, physically, they pull strings in the background.

There's no outright "teams" in the way you can define a person as a Mianitee or a Dianitee.

But, there's times when Tom gets an impulse that makes even him pause, something that is a bit more destructive or hurtful than he'd initially think to do. Wouldn't going full in on a cruel prank and blowing someone's house and items to smithereens be a bit across the line?

There's times where Tucker finds himself ready to snap at someone or put someone in their place because they did something just a little out of line. But that's stupid, right? It's hardly something worth starting a fight over if someone decides to get antsy and start carving up the ground and making mockery of someone else.

And maybe Jordan finds himself feeling like he has mood swings. Some days he's a stickler for the rules, things need to go a certain way and be in line and in order or else he just feels off the whole day. On other days, sometimes right after a order-y day, he'll feel the need to cause chaos, like he's been possessed by Tom all of the sudden. Things are too orderly, too nice and neat and Jordan just needs to tilt things a bit away from all of that.

Sonja gets a bit of that need for order, but its less. For a while she figures its just Tucker rubbing off on her until she starts to get darker thoughts. Things that scare her, because surely she isn't this cruel? Ideas of breaking her friends down, putting them beneath her and ripping their beliefs away from them. It's something she actively fights against, deciding its just a bad case of intrusive thoughts and reminding herself each time they happen that she doesnt want to hurt her friends and that these thoughts arent her.

Sonja is the closest to the truth.

Dec knows the truth, but he also decides to keep it hidden. Not in a "i will erase any hint of the truth" type of way, but in a "i wont go out of my way to reveal it." He can tell who is being affected by who, which person is more strongly aligned to which god. Each time a new person comes along he'd make bets with himself about who is going to be more like what god. Nadeshot? It was hard to say, with him leaning Dianite and back towards Mianite. Then he fell towards the Shadows which worried Dec. The Modesteps? Very Dianite- could have been a shoe in for the Shadows if they'd stuck around that long.

No, the gods have no real presence until the pirates come along. Capsize who is on a mission to free Ianite. Redbeard who is a little too observant when it comes to the leanings of the natives. Dec gets to them first, tells them the situation, then stands back.

It was always out of his hands, after all.

A small discussion. We all know ghoatbusters is autisti media, but can we talk about how all the ghostbusters are definitely neuroatypical (except for Winston).

So this is my Thread(i will only be using the movies but i could add so much more with the Real ghostbusters):

So let's start with the easy one, Egon is Obviously Autistic, he is the steriotypical autistic person, blunt, which shows difficulty in communication, has a hard time with socialization and has repetitive and behaviour. (Yes, those are the main 3 traits to define autism according to the dms-5 ), but we can add in some other stuff like he restrictive eating and hyperfocus that arent defining traits but are also associated.

Now let's go for Ray, i see a lot of people mentioning of autistic behaviour related to Ray and well due to Dan himself being autistic. but i will throw a thing out here, Ray has ADHD Not autism, specifically the mixed adhd which brings in the lack of attention along with hyperactivity. (i know the spectrum shows differently in each person but this is my headcanon and what i observed) So lets start, he is very impulsive, and take actions sometimes without even thinking, plus very active, childish, and he lacks a lot of attention like they'd be talking about a thing and stantz would trail off or even start something without even considering causes, like with the proton packs, ray was the first one to offer himself even if it is a nuclear weapon. He could go overboard like when he is asked to scream to the mood slime and goes over the top, and now that's not necessarily a adhd characteristic, but it's common, he is very adoptive and quickly witted.

Now, for the one no one ever talks about when mentioning about neurodiversity in ghostbusters and my favourite Venkman.

Oh, how do i start with this one, thats the most AuDhD person, in the movies the phrases like "Good or bad is a bit fuzzy in my mind" or "dont stare at me you have the bug eyes, im sorry" both the situation, of not exactly understanding the morals or social effects and of not liking to be stared at, (he barely looks at people faces while talking to them) The lack of feel and being rather apathetic, being calm to react to stuff, like on the second on thr mocie when they were being judged and he was telling louis exactly what to say and yet extreme impulsive action, like the way he behaved with peck, his extreme sincerity and plus even tho he is very communicative his ways of communication are very directed as in the need to alrewdy have a theme or create a move. he needs a topic to communicate with people, like i found it so stupid that he used the experiment to hit on the girl on the first scene then he used jokes to die out his anxiety and he is not very expressive and to actually talk to dana he used the excuse of the ghost hunting, and the way he began to freak out about the ectoplasma (now obviously im over exagerating) could be seen as sensory issues, much like ray he also gets side tracked and distracted a lot. It's hard to have two voices in ya head telling the most logical and other one telling the impulsive intrusive thought, and he shows the mixture of the two perfectly. and if you want to push even farther in, we can discuss dislexia. The fact he has to ask Ray to read certain words for him and tell him what it says is already very interesting. (Adding in Bill murray is not openly autistic, but there were mentions about it in old interviews and some stuff in different people mentioning the possibility. but for the section of factuality, let's say no)

It could've been an accident or not, but here we have it. this is my belief that none of this is canon. im not Dan nor Harold remis im just a person who really likes those characters and is also Autistic.

Honestly dont get the "women were villainized to justify his whining" actually. Like he had beef with female characters, they disagreed and it was made clear this is just his pov of the situation and that said women were justified? that's not villinization that's just him having conflict with them.

I think some people point to how he treated Bramblestar differently they had him get close to bramblestar so they could show his retirement story and establish squirrelstar as the rightful successor. Like yeah he butts heads with squirrel but are we going to ignore that all the things he did so on was also showing how he was in the wrong even and how she made a wise and strong authority figure in comparison to the flaky and wavering bramblestar who just accepted whatever nightheart said was right? Like they aren't great at it but the erins do not shy away from their protagonists being of the wrong or varying opinions. Nightheart had beef with Squirrel specifically because she was in the right and he was blinded by his hangups, made pretty clear by his arc ending with "and all those women were totally right and he apologized or conceeded to them and thinks the world of them now". That is not villainization that's just conflict and character growth. Like it's not a question, he was shown to be wrong even through the fog of his own pov.

Like honestly I know this fandoms very touchy about how women are characterized but how do they expect us to get the complex non romantic relationships and grey morality where people arent just good or evil and are allowed to grow if the protagonist isn't allowed to have conflict with female characters? Like sorry but it's a real "we want complex dynamics" yall can't even handle a mother and son having an argument where no one is the bad guy just because you view it from the guy's perpective.

For heavens sakes all three characters have mommy issues and his is the one that ISN'T a villain, and the other woman he had conflict with was literally made leader and shown to be a great choice. They weren't villainized, Nightheart was just wrong about them and his arc involved realizing they were right.

Also while complaining that he villainizes every female character people seem to conveniently forget Lilyheart and sorrelstripe, who are just as wishywashy as Bramblestar and just as unquestionably liked by Nightheart despite their disagreements with him. They just don't get quite as much attention because they aren't former main characters and literally the leader of the clan in the middle of the power shift arc, but they both get clearly defined personalities and roles in Nightheart's life as fellow clanmates not romantically involved with him, yknow that thing that we want more of.

Like to make this argument you have to ignore that there's literally only 3 men in Nightheart's life at all, he only liked one of them because they supported his childish views as a way to establish how far he fell as a leader and how childish said views were, the other is dead and everything he thinks about him is a fabrication to imagine a parent he gets along with, and the other gets 2 scenes and comes as a package deal with his sister, and ultimately the reason he doesn't fight with any of them is because they aren't important, literally the same reason he gets along with all the other women in the clan. That's not exactly glowing reviews for the men.

Also all this is still ignoring the fact that the person nightheart likes the most is Sunbeam, also a female character, at first because exactly like Bramblestar she indulges him, except we get her pov and we see what Nightheart looks like from her pov which is wrong and hurting other people and she calls him out on it. And he listens to her because shes not as close to the situation, and she immediately befriends said other women and shows exactly how great they are as people when you aren't literally in the head of someone having conflict with them.

They did not villainize the women for Nightheart's story, they in fact went out of their way to do the opposite at most every step even despite literally being his antagonists for several books. This arc has given us female villains AND a cast that is mostly female characters. There is plenty of misogyny in these books and not all of their scenes are bangers but this ain't it.

I do mostly agree except for specifically the scene in Sky where Sparkpelt and Finchlight are just really antagonistic towards Nightheart despite having little precedent for this prior. You could maybe make an argument for Sparkpelt, but Finchlight is just nonsensical since she was very supportive of Nightheart and his name change in the previous book. I get obviously inconsistencies between different authors, but it’s just so weird and so out of her established character and motivations. And even if you could make an argument for Sparkpelt I still find that out of character given what we saw the previous book, I think she should have been disappointed (and maybe poorly trying to mask it) but not as angry, Nightheart could still get that feeling of rejection from her if his name change made her sad. It probably wouldn’t even matter as much if this argument and rejection from them wasn’t a massive reason why he wanted to leave.

i grew up in an evangelical christian cult under very extreme surveillance and censorship of incoming information. i didnt know the actual history of christianity, the real history, not the fake stuff i was taught, for many, many years. as far as i knew, the bible i read cover to cover every year was the only bible there had ever been, was the literal word of god, and the only issue was how to translate it from the original hebrew and greek. i had no reason to question this until high school, when my brother and i were sent walking around the neighborhood wearing brightly colored "ask me about jesus" tags.

an older neighbor working on his front lawn called us over. "okay," he said. "ill bite. tell me about jesus." so of course, we gave him the story we had been taught. original sin, hell, jesus dying on the cross, etc. etc. he listened patiently, then talked a bit abt his own personal spirituality. i dont remember the specifics, i think he actually was a sort of christian in a way, but only as a personal, private thing, no church, smth we had never encountered before. more importantly, he told us to look up the council of nicea.

our parents were very vague about their answer, so i ended up looking it up on wikipedia. i read that the bible as i knew it was only one canon, defined fairly recently, by one faction of the church. i learned about the existence of the apocrypha, that a bunch of old men had sat down and decided which books of the bible they considered the real word of god, which were fake.

of course, our upbringing had already provided their own magical answers for this kind of problem, but the seed was planted, alongside many other little seeds that were beginning to sink in and take root. what i knew came into direct conflict with the outside world, which gave me a point of entry for questions. how do we know which men were inspired by god? what did the other rejected books say? through this train of thought i came to find countless questions about the bible that were not as conclusively answered as i had been led to believe. prior to this, my conflicts with christianity had been on the basis of my own gut feelings. this feels wrong, arent i hurting people? but that one clue, the council of nicea, gave me a point of reference to start dismantling the whole theological basis for what i was taught.

eventually i found out that even the very concept of hell was a fabrication. i had read the bible faithfully for my whole life, once thru, cover to cover, every year. things like a lake of fire, eternity separated from god, a lot of the pieces that make up the popular concept of hell were there, scattered throughout, but when i realized that these fragments i had read had been manipulated and conflated to me from toddlerhood, that the bible never actually describes hell as i knew it, well. the whole tower crumbled.

for years i had struggled with the basic conflict of seeing with my own eyes that the things i said and did hurt people, that many horrible things had been done in the name of god. this was and always had been the original, basic instinct for my difficulty with christianity. but hell, hell had been the ultimate lynchpin. if hell was real, if not being christian doomed you to an eternity of literal torture, then any hurt i and other christians inflicted was justified. i truly evangelized and told people they were bad and going to hell out of a brainwashed desire to save them. i was terrified for them, for myself, for everyone. i dont think i will ever fully be able to convey how afraid i was, from my very first inklings of consciousness. hell tied it all together. i would do anything, anything to keep myself and those i cared about from suffering for eternity. even if my friends hated me, i had to plant the seed and pray for god to grow it in them. i had to.

once hell came into question, that fear finally began to lighten. cracks in my prison. a critical piece of information that had been carefully hidden my entire life. information that changed everything.

when youre sufficiently brainwashed, its hard to know where to even begin to question the world as you know it. your gut might tell you something is wrong, but when your world has self contained answers for everything, when it all seems to be one smooth globe around you, it can be hard to find the cracks. it seems impenetrable.

sometimes you need a little help to find the cracks.

the inhuman debate in season 3 really brought up a lot of interesting questions for me, about how something like this should be handled in the world of the mcu. first its relatively clear cut:

rosalinds pov: these people are a danger to themselves and others, better convince them to go into stasis until we can find a cure. people should have a choice whether they want to have powers or not and not just be forced to accept them (not that we accept yes for an answer actually and killing them is also fine).

daisys pov: these people can learn to control their powers and have a normal life and get past this, and thats the only real option. the initial damage from their powers doesnt justify the way theyre being treated by the atcu because of this. the atcu is putting them on ice, and they say theyre looking for a cure, but i dont really believe them. theyre simply putting us away because theyre afraid of us. but i can admit after some thought that theyre not wrong about how people might also just want an out (also as far as she knows the transformation is irreversible anyway, though i dont know how much of a factor this actually is, the last time she says it is before they start collaborating with the atcu and she never brings it up in the actual arguments).

but then later a cure actually seems possible, and at that point you have to think about a whole different set of problems, because now it is potentially a choice (this is a long list of questions, buckle up).

would a cure even be voluntary, and should it be?

can you justify taking these peoples powers away because of what they could potentially do with them?

powers cant only be used as weapons, should that potential risk justify taking them away?

is the security of the public worth the invasion of these citizens bodily autonomy?

can you justify putting all inhumans under general suspicion because of a few bad apples like lash?

is it right to treat these people as potential terrorists without there actually being a history of terrorism associated with them?

can you even use the potential weaponized usage of powers as an argument in a country that has this little limitation on gun ownership?

are taking their powers away or letting the inhumans roam free really the only options here?

isnt there a compromise to be reached, like what was attempted with the sokovia accords?

wouldnt it be better to try and find a productive approach for people with powers, like for example employing them in a dedicated government agency or a nonporfit organization somehow and maybe keeping an eye on them without constant suspicion, like what shield does?

is it even possible to take away the inhumans powers without major injury to them, and if it isnt, is the risk to the rest of humanity great enough to justify doing it anyway?

can the potential threat to the public even be used as an argument, since there are plenty of other powered people running around without inhumans being in play at all?

scott pilgrim vs the canon

boy you better have this tagged against spoilers because otherwise this is going to ruin a lot of stuff. all im going to say is, this show cannot be watched without having read the comic first so. keep that in mind.

scott pilgrim was the seminal work of my generation, it was the thing that defined us and the internet to a large extent after it came out in full back in 2010. now we are all here back again, in our late 20's, 30's and even 40's to take a second look at this franchise after everything that has been going on.

and this franchise had things to say.

i went in expecting scott pilgrim the comic, this time more lavishly (and faithfully) adapted than the movie could have ever been. suffice to say i was not dissapointed at all because i didnt get that in any way what so ever.

this is in some senses the modern cannibals of the scott pilgrim franchise, perhaps less cynical and bitter. this is an examination of this story from a slightly askew angle. this is a what if that takes itself to another level.

those who say that this "feels like fan fic" are half right, but if so i want to see what fan fics they are reading because i never saw a fanfic that take the world and its characters so wildly out of context, put them in outrageos new situations they would have never been in, do some genuine crack slash ships and yet still feel so genuine, so true to the original. just because none of what is happening here happened in the comic that doesnt mean these arent the characters we know and love and that this isnt the world and the mood and the vibe that that we all grew up with.

the brian lee o malley style is so incredibly hard to capture. its this wonderful mix of over the top anime/cartoony action mixed with incredibly grounded, down to earth, super chill vibe. we've seen the wonders that came out during the 2010's made by other artists inspired by it or directly trying to emulate it, and yet none of them were able to capture it quite right and this show is the bona fide real deal. it made me remember why scott pilgrim captured me so much back when i read it as a teenager, its a mood impossible to reproduce and yet reproduced all the same here in this show.

the animation is of course out of this world. the voice acting could do some work but im willing to let it slide considering that they went with the original cast from the movie.

this story feels almost like an answer to the observation many people made at the end of the comic and specially the end of the movie. that scott and ramona were obviously not meant to last. that they were still too young and too messed up as people and the relationship was probably going to end badly. the show examines all that with raw honestly and concludes at the end that, sure, maybe this is not going to work out. but that doesnt mean they shouldnt give it their best shot.

as i said at the beggining, this has to be understood as an addenum to the comic. it starts as an adaptation, it lulls you into thinking its a wacky what if and ends up being a covert sequel. with that in mind, this show understands that you already understand and know who scott is and what his deal is, so it chooses to focus squarely on ramona and the exes, and let me just say. the exes are the fucking break out stars of this show. i love every single one of them. the fact that each of them get their own little mini arc and a chance to either redeem or at the very least become genuenly sympathetic was absolutely brilliant. these guys are amazing.

this story in general just presents such a feel good, likeable, chill athmosfere, where even villains who seemed irredeemable can still have just a calm conversation with the hero and just chat for a while. share a coffee, wind down.

if i had one single complaint at all is that i was a little sad by the implication that scott wont learn his lesson at the end of the original story and will continue to be kind of a clueless immature douche. but it is tempered by the fact that this story still has a lot of sympathy for young scott and it makes the case that the guy still very much deserves a chance.

so yeah

loved it, great work, it tried to do something super weird and it somehow succeeded. good job 9/10

WHY (VRISKA) IS THE BAD END TO VRISKAS ARC IN HOMESTUCK BY KRIS DREEMURR

for starters lets define what "bad ending" even means in this situation. i would argue (vriska) herself doesnt actually have a particularly bad ending. yeah she dies but she gets her own little happy ending in one of the most touching flashes in the entire comic.

in contrast, post-retcon vriska *is alive*, first and foremost, therefore shes not being forcibly drawn into irrelevance by her literal death. she *gets shit done*, going out of her way to scout around the B2 session, doing research, and putting together the plan. she doesnt HAVE to reunite with terezi because theyre already there together, and she gets to spend three whole largely uneventful years together where they get to be GENUINELY THE ONLY REAL HEALTHY MOIRALLEGIANCE IN THE ENTIRE COMIC.

she shapes up everyones lives on the meteor, she keeps rose from drinking, everyone literally admits that tho she can be a bitch, she at least is a helpful bitch who kept things from falling apart. nobody ever even points this out either! she spent three fucking years on that meteor being a functioning helpful member of the group and nobody ever bothers to acknowledge that when criticizing her. vriska haters refuse to admit there was a stretch of time where she just chilled and was a decent person.

because nobody wants to admit she maybe was actually a good person who just wasnt very nice. because that ties into the other major themes of homestuck: good people arent always nice, and nice people arent always good. vriska is example number 1 of the former. and her story doesnt end with her "opening a box to let OTHER PEOPLE save the day". regardless of what you think of the post-canon stuff, her story clearly continues.

and even if you only consider what happens in canon? it still doesnt end that way. because someone had to go get the weapon. someone had to go out there and stop him. she was literally prepared to do it entirely alone. because nobody else was going to. nobody else wanted to. they were happy to let her do the hard part. all by herself.

let me stress the importance of her going out there: if she had not gone out there, the entire rest of the groups attempts at fighting off condy and the two jacks would have been for nothing. all of it would have ended in failure if nobody had taken the weapon out there. like i cant stress this enough. the entire rest of the finale was literally them distracting the three beings that could have possibly made her job even harder. yes it also kept condy from getting her hands on the new universe but otherwise the two jacks were irrelevant. vriska going to fight lord english was the reason they were able to enter the door. they would not have been able to without her.

im not even exaggerating. she literally spells this out. (vriska) even spells this out! page 6053 when she does her monologue about being a hero. if nobody went out to stop him, he would keep coming. he would keep destroying worlds, even universes. they wouldnt be free from him on earth C. he would find a way to come after them. but thanks to her, and meenah, and even TAVROS, plus all the ghosts? hes done for.

and let me once again remind you: SHE WAS GOING TO GO THERE ALONE. SHE WAS WILLING TO BE THE ONLY ONE IN ALL OF EXISTENCE WHO WOULD ACTUALLY ATTEMPT TO STOP THE METAPHORICAL MOON. BECAUSE NOBODY ELSE CARED ENOUGH TO DO THE HARD THINGS.

I dont trust the word tenderqueer or anyone who uses it.

Theres a lot of talk around the word tenderqueer and i just wanna go on record saying i dont trust you if you use this word one bit. I deeply believe white queers who use their queerness to excuse racism or other problematic behaviour is a huge problem and ive met plenty of these kinds of people, its just that words like this are dangerous as fuck. The meaning is ambiguous enough and not imidiatly recognizable from the word which means you need to google what it means and thats where war starts. The homophobes, specifically alt-right and neo nazi groups on 4chan thrive in such ambiguity because they can turn the meaning around to whatever they want and if theyre loud enough they can become the search result before the people who actually care about this issue.

The meaning has already started shifting from racist white queers to "chronically online" queer people who "have never met a queer parson in real life" and more. This isnt a small issue, this is what i first heard when i looked up what this means. Bashing the online queer spaces with words like these is fucking dangerous, thats where the babygays reside, the not yet out trans folks, the young queer people with anxiety or autism. This is the most vulnerable part of this community and everyone is aching to find a way to attack these people without having done anything wrong, i was there for many years. I wont stand for you bitches once again attacking the most vulnerable people on the internet, the ones we sould be doing everything to protect from people outside our comunity.

This conversation can definately be had without a word like that and this kind of hatespeech. You guys still after all these years dont understand that BEING CRINGE DOESNT MEAN YOURE EVIL. I just reblogged an example of butch protectiveness. What makes it different from toxic protectiveness. What makes queer chivalry feel comforting and and cishet etc chivalry feel sexist and condescending. You see the pattern Im talking about?

Gender and sexuality arent actually the defining factors here. We use them as shorthand. Cishet etc people are capable of healthy dynamics and queer folks are capable of toxic dynamics.

The difference is respect of autonomy and agency.

Why does it sometimes feel gross to women when a guy is protective but good when a butch is protective? The first has sexist history and implications. That because youre a woman you must be weaker, more fragile, incompetent, and the implications make one angry. With a butch, thats not there. They just see you as YOU, protect you because they care about you as an individual.

Difference between someone giving their kid sex ed including consent including what to do if youre uncomfortable, its cold out do you want a jacket, and you better be back by midnight i have a gun take your pepper spray wear this huge jacket. The difference isnt gender or sexuality or lifestyle, the difference is do you assume your kid is competent and equip them to make good safe choices, or do you try lock them away threaten their dates makes them dress covered up because theyre your fragile sweet helpless girl and you think threats or isolation and control is all that will keep them safe.

Men, cishets,[ insert population to hate on here] might be culturally programmed to behave a certain way, may benefit themselves behaving a certain way (eg upholding the patriarchy which is something people of any age and gender can do), but crucially, its not inherent theyre not stuck that way. People can learn and unlearn and grow.

On the other hand, someones queer identity doesnt inherently make them safe. Theres so much lateral violence just on this app. Thats also people buying into normalcy in an attempt for protection, becoming cops for normalcy. And its not the fault of aces or bis or trans fems or trans mascs or whoever the target is this month, every group has people trying to sell out to Big Normal in exchange for being allowed to live and maybe even thrive. Cultural power is real.

Thats my point. Certain groups of people are more likely to have rethought and relearned attitudes we ALL absorbed and are exposed to every day about who we're supposed to shame and which boxes we're supposed to fit and how badly we should hurt ourselves and each other to "get ahead".

-House of Reps is shameful- Summer&Christmas vacations, long weekends,&if they actually sit down 4 something, its 2 figure how 2go about shaming a president’s son. if daily issues in country arent resolved, govt shuts down, army doesnt get paid, while congress still has salaries-

-I'm not a CSPAN watcher, but from the clips I've seen on mainstream news channels, they manually count votes when trying to oust the Speaker of the House, 3 times at least. This is with a crowd of 3-400, I think, and it's by calling on each person. When I was in college, when our professors wanted to quiz us on things, we had electronic clickers, where we can select our choices. Through some form of wireless or RF technology, it would connect to our professors laptop, and automatically record our choices. Our grades were automatically calculated. I understand the House of Representatives is a time tested institution...but why waste time, when you're still passing CR's or continuing resolutions, from insufficient time, for the purpose of addressing real issues like Ukraine, Israel, border crossings by the 1000s daily? And you gotta take into account that you're going to get into disagreements, scream obscenities at each other, maybe even get into fist fights (as seen on tv). "Why not save time" with things like that? In my high school, which was an all boys college preparatory school, we had laptops and smart boards. A smart board is an electronic black board connected to a laptop that gives enhanced features. Why not have something like that in the House of Reps, to keep track of the dominant viewpoints and conflicting issues, for all to see. Why not give everyone an iPad, embedded in their chairs or tables, for input or output? Keeping the House of Reps looking formal and of mahogany wood is elegant, but the vibe from the actions of these reps, seems like they're not behaving as sharp individuals, but of a sluggish nature, coming from probably a heavy red meat meal in their long lunch break...

- meanwhile I have deranged lunatics enslaving and "directing my life" and giving meaning to everything I do. It’s ok for Congress to get into live fist fights, but it’s wrong if I get frustrated over my situation.-

- It’s been at least a decade of me being in “this situation” of mine. That too while America watches and opines over my life. At one time, when I first complained to FBI about my situation, I was like ""Thank God, this is America, I’ll be saved." They’ll sit down and talk with me.-

- but now? It’s not "Thank God this is America," it’s more “Figures…it’s America…a circus…” It’s been at least a decade of me being in “this situation” of mine. People are in prison for less. Was 21 or 18 at the onset of this. Now I'm close to 40 years old and I'm being portrayed as one thing or the other, for teenagers or young adults. my reaction and expression is always wtf -

-in USA, those like DeSantos can fake family history/resumes/experiences & get a jobs in Congress. He doesn’t have college degrees & becomes a rep of people. No 1 checks. I graduated w/ a computer science degree & an MBA, and, probably due 2 my“situation,” I can’t get an honest job-

- yesterday or the day before, I think within one week, two subway trains got derailed, according to the Pix11 News, in New York, at 10 pm. Recently, a plane's door got blasted off. It's probably because, nowadays, people are less mentally sharp, due to drugs/alcohol, the replacement of psychiatry over religion. People aren't patriotic to follow laws and not fearful of the consequences of breaking laws. 

The amount of circles the people orchestrating my situation have drawn over the world - they clearly don't care about consequences, or have been promised a lack of consequences for ruining my life. 

Isn't America about protecting the dignity of even one American life?! Isn't the justice system about releasing 100 guilty people, rather than throwing one innocent life in trouble? Why is my innocent life not worth dignity? A follower of Christ said, "Master let me bury my father, before following you." Christ responds sharply, "Let the dead bury the dead." The lesson is not to wait, to stop an injustice, just because we're to the end, than to the beginning (simply implied as its already been more than a decade)

Stop injustice now. 

Justice should be swift and indiscriminate. 

But again, “figures, it’s America…a circus” -

- my situation? Rather than ending an absurdity, they want to show me in a forced loop over purchases and make it about fear of poor quality or used goods. The orchestrators of my situation, at its onset can make me watery eyed, or with a scalp moving up and down by itself-

- that’s right, if they can detect waves, they can output waves. If they claim they detect fear, they can instill fear. Then based on the retard kids in this &their narrative of me,they try to connect what transpires.Mind control is real. It’s probably surprise revelation @ end of whatever program from h*ll I'm in.-

- I have zero interest giving my side or perspective on these things. On something unrelated, if I can share some insight, I do.

but why the h*ll do I care how someone, beyond my family, sees me? Someone beyond my God?-

- one thing people can take from this? Forget your thoughts on mind reading, mind control, stupid cover up notions like predictive analytics. The orchestrators claim to be able to show memories. If that’s true, to the orchestrators and all of you, there really is a Day of Judgment.-

- It means beliefs about our lives, our good deeds & bad, from start 2 finish, from birth 2 death, are recorded & able 2 be seen at the Will of a Higher Intelligence. That then implies, some reward or punishment based on the picture our lives paint. That then implies Heaven & Hell.-

- 2the orchestrators, rot in h*ll 4 taking yrs from myLife 2 add 2 urs, 2 avoid what couldve been a minor offense yrs ago, which u stupidly snow balled in2 a seriousCrime, frying my brain 4 nothing-4 talking about a real situation U desperately hide as illness, over more than a decade plus -

MORNING SICKNESS HELP

Congratulations!!! Your creating a new life... Your body is putting in some major work and alot of changes are happening inside of you very quickly. One of the side effect of this beautiful and exciting time is the not so glamourous morning sickness. Constantly leaning over the sink or toilet reevaluating your life choices every 30 minutes. If you are lucky enough to be one of the 30% of women that this doesn't effect then count me super jealous... lol... I am currently pregnant with my second child and it's just been the worst. Every morning, most afternoons and half the night i'm nautious or sick but some of the methods I cover here help me out alot. In this article i will be going over several different options and techniques that did and didn't work for me. Make sure to keep in mind that just like every person is unique so is every pregnancy. Some of the things that worked for me may not work for you, and vice versa, some of the things that didn't work for me might be just what you needed. The good news is that for most women the morning sickness gets better as the pregnancy progresses. Before you try any of these options always consult with your doctor about it first.

Lets begin with what I have noticed that makes my nausia worse... The fact that im having a girl I believe is a large contributing factor and so do alot of other people. Most likely because the levels of the pregnancy hormone HCG tend to be higher in mothers that are carrying girls than mothers carrying boys. There is no definative proof that this is the reason for it and anyone can have intense and severe morning sickness. As I mentioned earlier every pregnancy is unique and there is no guarantee that if you have terrible morning sickness that you're carrying a baby girl. Even though it's not a proven fact all but two people I know (including a female doctor) said that for the most part women report that their nausia was much worse with a girl than a boy. I guess it could be classified as an old wives but some of those tales end up being true in the end.

Another thing that makes me sicker was my prenatal pills, more often than not it's the iron in them. The iron can sometimes cause stomach irritation and make you feel sicker. Also iron gets your blood flowing and can sometimes clog up digestion. I suggest trying these methods below, make sure you eat first before taking them (even though it's probably very difficult sometimes) and to drink more water. Never skip your meds as it is vital to the babies development and health, as well as your own.

The next on this list is laying down just after eating, laying down after eating can cause gastric juices in your stomach to rise, hinders digestion and can cause you to feel nautious. This is a little difficult for me because I feel a food coma coming on after I eat sometimes and desperately want to lay down. I would recommend eating small frequent meals throughout the day, avoid greasy ones as this might make you feel worse. Drinking herbal tea with your meals, preferrably ones with ginger in them should also keep your nausia at bay. Not all teas are safe for pregnancy so consult your doctor on this as well.

There is a rather large list of things that can worsen nausia and i'ts very important that you stay hydrated. If you are having to much trouble keeping fluids down make sure your doctor knows because dehydration, especially in pregnancy can cause very real problems to rise. Drinking stuff like pedialite and some hydrating sports drinks like gatorade will help keep you hydrated and improve nausia as well. Plus, on a positive note they taste very good and arent that expensive. If sports drinks are not available to you immediatly then my doctor told me to add a little salt and sugar to some water and try that for hydration as the salt causes your body to absorb the water faster.

Now moving on to the options that did and didn't work to ease my intense sickness, some of these might be very helpful and other may not. Remeber to listen and pay attention to your body and always make sure your health professional approves.

GINGER:

It has been proven that ginger reduces nausia and can help immensely. Even though I believe that alot of natural remedies can be very effective I was extremely sceptical of this one. The main reason is because my constant sickness was so bad that it made me feel like this wouldn't be strong enough to help .There are two types of compounds in ginger, gingerol and shogaols. They are thought to act on receptors in the digestive system and speed stomach emptying. My doctor recommended ginger ale or ginger candies, so of course the first thing i reached for was the ginger ale. Getting liquid into my system was always easier than getting food in there. After sipping on a couple of cans, and it actually helping me, i dove right into it and overdid it. I started drinking them all the all the time...This turned out to be a very bad idea as i all of a sudden got very sick again. I leaned out my car door and basically begged it to stop. If done correctly and in moderation i think this is a very good option and could bring much needed relief. GInger did seem to help some so I decided that ginger candies were worth a try. The only thing I could find around here was crystallized ginger candies. It's baby ginger root covered in cane sugar and it worked. I couldn't stand chewing on root of ginger because it kind of felt like it was burning my mouth for a second. The kind I tried was "REED'S craft ginger candy, all natural" and I recommend trying this option, or some kind of ginger candy, it's not that bad and you might enjoy it, I just couldn't aquire a taste for it. Ginger tea is always a good idea though. It's relaxing and easy on your stomach, extremely enjoyable and very soothing.

KEEP SOMETHING IN YOUR STOMACH:

The best way to stay ahead of your morning sickness in alot of cases is to always keep something in your stomach. I was told to eat every 2 hours, i've never found a task more difficult for me than this but probably 8 out of 10 times it worked. I have to be careful not to overfill myself tho or food wont even stay down. Even if your just snacking on crackers until the nausia goes away and you can eat something substantial it's a huge help. As it turned out a little salt (Saltine Crackers) actually worked and have worked for pretty much everyone I know. I think keeping some crackers by your bed on the nightstand and snacking before you get up is a must.

7-UP or SPRITE:

It usually settles a stomach pretty instantly anyway and has been an answered prayer for me on many occations. This for me is also a must, a couple drinks here and there during the day usually does the trick and has been a serious lifesaver.

VITAMIN B6:

This works best of all because it helps our bodies process certain amino acids (proteins) and significantly reduces nausia. My doctor told me about this and tried to prescribe it to me. My insurance wouldn't pay for it because it can be bought over the counter so i had to go to walmart and pick up a bottle from there. It wasn't expensive like I thought it was going to be and I take it every single day in the morning. This has helped me more than anything else on this list and I don't know how I could ever live without it again.

In conclusion, I would just like to add that you know your body better than anyone else. You know what is working and you know what isn't, so listen closely to it... This is a beautiful, exciting time and you should really be enjoying every second of your pregnancy. I hope this article was helpful and useful for you and that your morning sickness gets better. oh!!!! i love nanami :) on my first watch i was stupid and hated her but after thinking about her for a bit its like. god shes. so interesting.

shes literally the biggest and most obvious foil to anthy, considering all her parallels ex.

like! and they have very similar experiences

nanami puts on a cute face when actually shes being a bad person behind the scenes, like in the tsuwabukis diary episode the shadow girls literally have the "oh shes a monkey underneath! no one will ever want to marry her now!" thing and its just like, anthy too. her and anthys stories are so intrinsically linked and thats why they hate each other too, cause they see themselves.

like when nanami discovers what akio does with anthy she sees her own relationship with touga reflected, or what will happen when it goes further, thats when she starts realizing that "holy shit i do not want this" and it scares her!! i think her arc is literally one of the most fleshed out too, people who say nanami is an irredeemable mean girl are so dumb like have you watched the show shes an abused and groomed 13 year old that has no clear defined sense of self!!!!

like in the cow episode! she literally becomes a cow because everyone tells her cows wear cowbells, and so if shes wearing a cowbell then shes a cow! no one tells her how ugly the cowbell is or anything because theyre afraid of the consequences so she just thinks she's better as a cow, and she becomes one!!

i like nanami a lot, especially all her interactions with anthy, shes just a perfect foil and if you look at nanami early on you can really start understanding anthy better too. im not an expert on nanami but i really really love her, she has no real view of the world outside of whats been taught to her by touga. when she finds out that theyre not blood related she gets disgusted with their relationship because now she realizes that touga never actually loved her as a sister and that she'll never be his in that way, and that gets even more intense when she sees anthy and akio and realizes what THAT kind of relationship entails!!!!! shes literally just a 13 year old with little to no understanding of anything because shes been constantly groomed into believing things that arent right, i hope she gets therapy when she gets out of ohtori.

oh yea i also think she'd be the next one out after anthy/utena because she starts realizing how not good ohtori is pretty early
