So uh, started to work more on the bleach mermaid/siren/merman au, here's more I've gone done, please give me more ideas.

Shunsui Kyōraku would be a Koi.

Suì-Fēng would be a mantis shrimp.

Kisuke Urahara would be a Greenland Shark.

Tōshirō Hitsugaya would be a Atlantic white-sided dolphin or a seal.

Kenpachi Zaraki would be a orca.

Isane Kotetsu would be a Salmon.

Byakuya Kuchiki would be be a Koi.

Rukia Kuchiki would be a Koi.

As Nodt would be a Sloane’s viperfish.

Gremmy Thoumeax would be an Alligator Gar.

Gin Ichimaru as a sea snake.

Sōsuke Aizen as a great white shark that is abnormally larger than any other great white shark.

Kaname Tōsen being a barracuda.

Coyote Starrk would be a great white shark while Lilynette Gingerbuck is a remora.

Baraggan Louisenbairn would be a coelacanth.

Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck would be a blue sea dragon.

Tier Harribel would be a bull shark.

Ulquiorra Cifer would be an angler fish.

filling in the blanks of starrk's backstory has many benefits.

It's like... oh? he was isolated from everyone for centuries, he hasn't been touched since he was alive, and he was so lonely he mutilated his own soul (without knowing if it would do anything)?

he's probably fine. His mere presence still makes less powerful hollows dissolve into bone-dust and more powerful hollows spiral into madness. He's no closer to control than when he started. He's surrounded by people and still alone.

He pledged himself to aizen and the man looks right through him.

Having a mini-phase where I'm really into Bleach again, anyway:

Aizen kidnaps the Kurosaki twins when Masaki dies and has them raised in Las Noches, alternately pitting them against each other and then against minor arrancar. He wants to see how much of their Shinigami/Quincy backgrounds he can force to the foreground via constant stressors and being surrounded by Hollow energy. If he's very lucky, one of them will accidentally become a Vizard of their own volition, which he would love.

Can't let them die by way of aggressive morons, though, so they're usually in the company of an espada with self-control and maturity, like Starrk, Nel, Harribel, or Ulquiorra.

After all, what mad scientist would pass up the chance for Twin Studies?

They're still alive, and Aizen finds it funny to taunt them with just what they're missing out on. They hate Aizen, but they're also a little resentful of the fact that (at last according to Aizen himself), there are lots of people who could theoretically come and save them, like Urahara and Yoruichi and their dad, but aren't. Aizen himself oscillates between 'your loved ones are too weak to find you, because I'm a genius and can hide your reiatsu even if they do look into Hueco Mundo, muahahaha' and 'look, they don't even care enough about you to come looking.' You know, just to fuck them up in the head a bit.

There are several options:

Orihime finds them when it's her turn to be kidnapped, and then Ichigo has a (loving and resentful) surprise waiting for him when he arrives.

Orihime doesn't get kidnapped, but Aizen draws Ichigo out anyway by sending a taunting six-years-late ransom video with Yuzu and Karin in it.

Yuzu and Karin slip out when Nel gets chucked off the tower, and spend the next few years until Ichigo shows up just hanging out in the desert, because none of them know how to open a Garganta, not even Pesche and Dondochakka. (They do, actually, but Aizen's still keeping tabs on his pet projects, and is blocking that ability from the Fraccion because, well, he can't just let the girls go home before he's revealed himself to Soul Society.)

The Invasion of Soul Society causes so much hullabaloo that they (barely) manage to escape through Aizen's Negacion exit. (They aren't sure if they succeeded on their own, or if Aizen let them go to cause more chaos.)

They befriend Lilynette and at one point mention that they miss their brother, Ichigo, whom they loved the way Lilynette loves Starrk; they haven't really been told the truth of Starrk and Lilynette being two halves of the same soul, but it's enough that Lilynette bullies Starrk into kidnapping her and her human-ish friends to the Land of the Living and/or Soul Society, which Aizen actually didn't predict.

What if Espada + Lilynette fell asleep with their s/o but woke up alone?

And they can't find them anywhere later on learning they were out for groceries?

Starrk

Waking up alone always sends an awful pang of loneliness through him, even when he knows there's nothing to worry about. Rationally, he doesn't doubt you're coming back from whatever it is that pulled you away from your shared nap, but that dread-like feeling that he's been abandoned still digs its claws in enough to leave Starrk feeling all kinds of pathetic as well. He'll be in an unpleasant mood until you get back, but calms down easily then.

Lilynette

There's a moment where, upon waking up to realize she's alone, Lilynette panics. She hates how needy it feels, but you're gone, and there's a part of her that's legitimately scared you'll never come back. There's nothing to take her mind off it until then, either— if she's with you and Starrk's not around, that's a sort of solitude that she's not used to at all. She stays antsy and tense until you return, and gets oddly clingy for a while afterward.

Halibel

Aside from the brief, startled moment when she first slips back to consciousness and realizes that you're not there, Halibel takes it pretty well. She can easily assume that you had something that needed to be attended to... even if there's a part of her that's still unsettled to have woken up alone. Still, she puts it out of her mind quickly enough, and finds something to occupy herself until you get back— at which point the last of the tension finally dissipates.

Ulquiorra

Loathe as he is to admit it, waking up alone doesn't sit well with him. If he'd fallen asleep with you, to begin with, Ulquiorra had been in an unusually vulnerable state of mind, and waking up to the lack of the presence he'd expected sends an instinctive bolt of panic through him. And as much as he bitterly tries to push that feeling out of his mind, he can't help but feel uneasy while you're gone... and then, oddly grouchy once you've returned.

Nnnoitra

The feeling that hits him when he realizes you're not curled up by his side anymore is one of the most shameful things Nnoitra has experienced. And no matter how hard he tries to smother the pathetic sense of loss churning in his head while you're gone, that feeling remains a perpetual irritant until you're back. When you're home again, you'll find Nnoitra in a truly rotten mood, but he only snaps at you when you try to ask what's bothering him.

Grimmjow

He's the one who can't stop pacing around the house looking for you. While he tells himself he's just annoyed with you for disappearing so suddenly, there's a sort of worry lingering in the back of his mind that he just can't shake. There's a reason why you were gone, obviously, but Grimmjow is still agitated and on edge until you're back— and at that point, he's all over you. Prepare for plenty of grouchy clinginess along with denial of any worry.

Szayel

Considering that he has to let his guard down a lot to sleep properly, waking up alone is a cause for stress. Szayel can hardly believe he didn't wake up while you left, and that's almost worrying him more than your disappearance. He finds something to occupy himself soon enough and refuses to show his lingering distress when you get back home... but he's hesitant to sleep again for a while, now that he knows how unguarded he ends up.

Aaroniero

He does not take that well. Falling asleep is vulnerable enough; waking up with you gone is just panic-inducing. There's some instinctive surge feeling that he needs to hide until you're there again, until the presence that his mind is convinced protects him has returned. And Aaroniero is the type to worry that he's been abandoned— even when he knows it's irrational, there's a distrustful sort of worry lingering that he can't fully restrain.

Ok ok, I have an au that may be stupid but just hear me out, hear me out.

I really love Bleach but I also love sirens and mermaids and such. Hear me out.

An AU that has everyone that is in bleach as a siren or a merman or mermaid.

I can just imagine Gin Ichimaru as a sea snake siren and Sōsuke Aizen as a great white shark siren that is abnormally larger than any other great white shark. Kaname Tōsen being a Barracuda siren, its just mwah.

I'd love to just see fanart of this entire au I accidentally made up but anyways my ideas on what the others would be.
