As someone who has been beta testing Duolingo's Korean course, I highly suggest you try it when it's released tomorrow. It's super helpful teaching you the writing system and basic grammar while you learn. Like most courses, you can really only get to a certain point without studying the grammar yourself, but as someone who is just starting out with grammar, I managed to get pretty far and learned a lot more!!

10.02.17 I've been absent for a little while, but it's because I now have a little bunny named Benny (full name Benvolio)!! He's helping me with homework (and NOT eating my textbook) but syntax trees confuse him..

09.10.17 Last time I made this post, only one of the pictures actually posted? Anyways I finally organized my new Korean books!! I bought them all for $20 on kijiji and I’m SO HAPPY. My favourite one is definitely the children’s novelization of Spirited Away.

when your curtains are blocking the sun out and you can't get out of bed, motivation doesn't exist. all you have is discipline.

I was just accepted to test Duolingo's Korean course early!! IM SO EXCITED I COULD DIE. Unfortunately I won't be sharing any info about the course because I don't want to violate Duolingo's trust. But I WILL talk to you guys about it on September 7th when it's released to the public!!

Hi everyone!!  I’m a new studyblr / langblr here to introduce myself.
My name is Steph and I’m 19.  I’m heading into my second year at university majoring in Linguistics and minoring in Anthropology.  I made this studyblr to help motivate myself to work.
I’m really interested in learning languages.  My native language is English and I’m somewhat fluent in French, having learned it throughout school.  I’m hoping to take some language classes in the next few years (possibly Korean, Spanish, Arabic, and/or Russian) but for now I’m self-studying Korean.
I’ll be posting originals infrequently, but they’ll be there!!  My handwriting is super messy and I can’t seem to keep organized so they’ll mostly just be updates on where I am in my studying process.
Send me asks literally anytime and I’ll respond.  If you speak French or Korean (or are learning one of the two) and want to chat, I TOTALLY WANT TO TALK TO YOU!!

coconut-studies replied to your post “As someone who has been beta testing Duolingo’s Korean course, I...”
I too am an alpha tester - and the Korean course definitely doesn't disappoint! The wait is worth it (:
Go try it, everyone!!

Welcome to the community! What's one thing you'd like to accomplish this seems?
Hi Sana!!  Thank you so much!!  That’s a good question.  In terms of upcoming school work, I’d like to keep on top of things.  My goal is to hand every assignment in.  When it comes to my own self-studying, I’d like to be able to read and understand one of the Korean childrens books I have.
